HDMI connector failed after a shot of static electricity

I was getting ready to show a movie on my PlayBook via the HDMI connection to my TV. Everything was running fine until I reached down to stop the movie on the PlayBook. A good shot of static was heard and felt. Although I can still view the movie on the PlayBook,  the HDMI connection no longer works. I have been using this method successfully for sometime without problems until a few days ago. The PlayBook appears to be fine otherwise, just a dead HDMI connection.
Has anyone had a similar experience and is there a fix?

Static can ruin things fast
as for a fix, you might need a new mother board but on ebay there are 64 gig models selling for 100 USD

  • PeopleSoft connector failing after upgrade

    Has anyone heard of the Peoplesoft connector failing to connect after a PeopleTools upgrade? We have 9.1.1.5 of the Peoplesoft User Management Connector installed. Prior to the upgrade of PeopleTools, it was on version 8.50.09 and we were able to connector and provision users. After the upgrade to PeopleTools 8.50.16, we cannot connect. Below is a piece of the log file where we are getting this error:

    Any ideas?

    You will have to use the new psjoa jar. See the connector documentation for compatible psjoa jar.

  • AD connectors fail after Update Rollup 5 installation

    Colleagues,
    We have SCSM 2012 R2 in our organzation and recently installed Update Rollup 5. After that we've started expiriening problems with AD connectors. They can finish with errors or not finish at all and be in running state for the whole day. The only solution
    is to restart HealthService and re-syncronize connectors. Connectors recreation didn't help. Also there are no relevant logs in event viewer. Do you have similar problems after UR5 installation or any ideas how this can be troubleshooted and fixed?

    Hi,
    Will you please try to re-install UR5?
    Make sure you install it  with order :
    1. DataWarehouse Server
    2. Primary Management Server
    3. Secondary Management Servers
    4. All Analyst consoles
    5. Self-Service Portal

    Ok so I use an hdmi connector on my iPhone 4S to watch netflix. But after I updated to iOS 7 it will not work my tv doesn't receive a signal. Does anyone have any insure to this please help .!.!.

    The 8 pin Lightning connector can only output 720p and lacks all iPod Out functionality unlike the full iPod Out functionality and 1080p that the 30 pin connector has and I suspect that they are coding iOS 7 specifically for the new devices which have severely reduced abilities and perhaps skipping adding the code needed for 30 pin devices to use their functionality with HDMI, etc.

  • IPad 2 hdmi connector problem

    Just bought a hdmi connector tonight with the intention of watching Netflix.  Video works great.  However,  the audio is not working.  Static is so bad I can't hear anything.  Is there a problem with my setting or is my iPad defective???

    Thanks for the reply. I keep looking for the "Preference Tab" but there is none.
    Just ion case
    I am building the slide show on the Ipad 2
    I am running the latest updates in Keynote and my IPad 2
    I do see the "setting" with in the keynote app but nothing in there.

  • Remote fails after several days

    I'm running ZFD 3.2, on a Netware 5.1 (sp5) box with eDir 85.27c.
    When I
    import a workstation, it will work perfectly for a few days, but then
    it
    fails to respond to Remote Control. I can still do Chat, and pinging
    the
    agent gives perfect success. When I do attempt to connect it gives
    the
    message:
    The Remote management agent was unable to locate the workstation in
    NDS.
    I can delete the workstation and re-import it, and it will work again,
    but
    fail after a few days time. I applied all the ZenWorks support packs
    to the
    clients and the server, and I am running the latest snap-ins for
    ConsoleOne.
    This server is the master of the replica.
    Any tips would be appreciated. I went through everything on TID

    and none of it has fixed the problem. Thanks.

  • Mathematical Script fails after protecting & saving PDF

    Hello, we are creating a form which includes a small graph to calculate a difference in two portfolios' Risk and Return %'s.  We want to be able to protect and save the document.  We, also, would like to re-open the document at a later point and update the values. Our script works fine when we enter the values, protect and save it; however, it fails after we re-open it with the password and enter the value; eg. it will simply show the previous calculated value.  Thank you for any input on fixing this issue.

    Just a follow-up comment from my partner:
    "we are password protecting and the calculated value becomes static when removing password"
    - and here is a copy of our formula too if it helps:
    ROR_difference.rawValue = ((ROR_Proposed.rawValue - ROR_Current.rawValue) / ROR_Current.rawValue)
    Thanks!

  • Malloc fails after 3.8 GB when jvm is loaded on SunOS 11

    All,
    I have a very simple c++ program that dynamically loads the jvm and in a loop tries to allocate memory in chunks of 512K. The malloc fails after about 3.8 GB is consumed. I don't use the jvm in any way other than just loading it. If I specify a java max heap size of 4096 MB I can allocate up 29 GB and then the malloc fails. If I subsequently increase the max heap size to 32GB then I can allocate more than 100GB.
    What is interesting is that this happens only on SunOS 11. Also it happens with java 1.6.0_26 and java 1.7 but not with java 1.6.0_22. If I don't load the jvm everything runs fine. This simple program runs without issues on SunOS 10, linux and windows with java 1.7.
    I have used truss with this program and I get the following output
    /1: nanosleep(0xFFFFFD7FFFDFF600, 0x00000000) = 0
    /1: brk(0xEAAEC000) = 0
    /1: nanosleep(0xFFFFFD7FFFDFF600, 0x00000000) = 0
    /1: brk(0xEABED000) = 0
    /1: nanosleep(0xFFFFFD7FFFDFF600, 0x00000000) = 0
    /1: brk(0xEACEE000) Err#12 ENOMEM
    This machine has 256GB of memory. I have been scratching my head for a while now and any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite Pro C850 - WLAN keeps failing after Win 7 installation

    Hi,
    I own a C850-1GR (PSCBXE), which comes with Win8.
    I've bought Win 7 32-bit Home Premium and reinstalled it from scratch.
    Afterwards I've installed the drivers from toshiba support page in the following order:
    Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility
    Intel Management Engine Interface
    Display Driver
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
    Realtek Audio Driver
    ATI HDMI Audio Driver
    SRS Premium Sound HD
    Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
    Realtek LAN Driver
    Realtek Wireless LAN Driver
    Intel Wireless Display
    Realtek Bluetooth Filter Driver Package
    Bluetooth Monitor
    Intel USB3.0 Driver
    Realtek Card Reader
    TOSHIBA Value Added Package
    TOSHIBA Sleep Utility
    TOSHIBA Resolution+ Plug-in for Windows Media Player
    TOSHIBA Media Controller
    TOSHIBA Media Controller Plug-in
    TOSHIBA Network Device ID Registry Setting Tool
    TOSHIBA Web Camera Application
    PatchFiles PCIIDEREG-1.2
    PatchFiles
    When the installation is done, WLAN fails after reboot, alternately.
    This means:
    *First boot: WLAN OK*
    *Second boot: WLAN fails*
    *Third boot ( = first boot): WLAN OK*
    *Fourth boot ( = second boot): WLAN Fails*
    *and so on.*
    Failing means, the WLAN symbol is displayed for a few seconds, then the "no network" icon is displayed.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    >(Why on earth should a device report an error every second system boot?)
    Yes, indeed this is very confusing and strange.
    Just one notice regarding:
    >Please note, that the intel driver is for "wireless display".
    Intel wireless display works only in connection with Intel WLan card. If your notebook does not contain Wlan card from Intel manufacturers, the wireless display does not work
    >Furthermore, all these drivers are listed on the C850 driver page for Win7-32.
    Yes, this is true but all these drivers appear because of different C850 with different hardware configuration.

    You appear to have empty catch blocks. Which means you don't get the error message that would tell you what is failing.
    Put in code that logs the exception and the stack trace of the exception. If you can't figure out the error message, post it here.
    You should be closing streams in finally statements. Otherwise they might not get closed when there is an error -> you leak descriptors -> you run out of descriptors -> every stream open will fail -> more errors -> more descriptors get leaked -> etc -> everything stops working. Always do it like this:
        WhateverStream out = null;
        try {
            out = ...;
            ...use out...;
        } finally {
            try {
                if (out != null) out.close();
           } catch (IOException e) { ...log it... }
        }

  • Gatherer\CSS connector failed to connect to CSS net.tcp

    Hi,
    Hope someone can help me out here. Have SharePoint 2013 running fine and has been for a while. Recently have been getting Event ID 1400 SharePoint server search 'Gatherer\CSS connector failed to connect to CSS net.tcp //servername/C7A30B. If I restart the
    server then all runs fine again but within a day it starts coming up with the same warning. The event ID is followed by Event id 2580 and 2581. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Hi alfatec,
    It should be related to the search service account permission issue, please try the following steps on your search servers which are running the "Search Host Controller Service", then check results again.
    1. "Start" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Local Security Policy" (or run: Secpol.msc).
    2. Expand "Local Policies".
    3. Click on "User rights assignment".
    4. Make sure that the search service account has the following privileges.
    "Replace a process level token"
    "Adjust memory quotas for a process"
    "Impersonate a client after authentication"
    "Log on as a service"
    (5) Run gpupdate /force

  • How can I connect my Early 2011" Macbook Pro 13" inch, with a generic Mini Display Port to HDMI connector, to a LG 32LD340 LCD TV, using Mountain Lion 10.8.2?

    I have an Early 2011" macbook pro 13 inch (core i5 2.3ghz 4gb ram 320hdd) with Mountain Lion 10.8.2, and I want to connect it via Mini DP to HDMI connector, and a HDMI cable to a LCD TV LG 32LD340. When I had Lion OS, I had no problems at all.

    If you have an external drive equal to or larger than your internal HD, clone your internal to it with either Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper. Test the clone to make sure it's bootable. Then upgrade either one. Try it out first.

  • Unit test fails after upgrading to Kodo 4.0.0 from 4.0.0-EA4

    I have a group of 6 unit tests failing after upgrading to the new Kodo
    4.0.0 (with BEA) from Kodo-4.0.0-EA4 (with Solarmetric). I'm getting
    exceptions like the one at the bottom of this email. It seems to be an
    interaction with the PostgreSQL driver, though I can't be sure. I
    haven't changed my JDO configuration or the related classes in months
    since I've been focusing on using the objects that have already been
    defined. The .jdo, .jdoquery, and .java code are below the exception,
    just in case there's something wrong in there. Does anyone have advice
    as to how I might debug this?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    I'm sorry, I have no idea. I suggest sending a test case that

  • My iphone no longer displays anything through the HDMI connector

    I purchased a cheap 30-pin to HDMI connector (big mistake) but was able to see my iPhone screen on my TV.  I then added a Lightening to 30-pin connector so I could display my girlfriend's iPhone 5C screen on the TV.  But I had problem taking these two connectors apart and the end of one of them started to come apart.  Pushed it back in.  When I then tried to display her 5C screen, nothing worked.  Then I went back to my iPhone 4 and it also no longer worked.  I thought the cable was bad so I then purchased a genuine Apple 30-pin to HDMI connector and Apple Lightening to 30-pin connector.  But I still don't see anything on the TV for either of the iPhones BUT my iPad 2 does display data on the TV.  Conclusion:  Did I short out something in both iPhone internal connectors?  Has anyone ever see this kind of problem?  BTW, both phones can still be charged without any problem.
    Thanks for the help.

    I'd start by calling VZW support.  They are really good in a situations like this.  I work with them a lot in the Enterprise space.  Sounds like your network/roaming settings are messed up.

  • Since I upgraded my iPod Touch 4G, the HDMI connector to my TV (that I bought from Apple) is no longer supported. Can this be corrected in a short period? Thanks

    As stated in the title, since I installed iOS6 on my iPod Touch 4G, the HDMI connector that I bought from Apple is no longer supported/recognized...
    A bit of a problem, when you buy an accessory to be able to watch videos on any HDMI enabled TV....
    Too bad that nobody checked on it before releasing the OS...
    Is there a solution to be released soon (like very soon)????

    Sometime the following works.
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
