  • HDMI Option Not Available in Windows 7 (x64) [HP Pavilion DV5 1138-NR Entertainment Notebook PC]

    I have just recently upgraded my laptop from Vista Home Premium (x64) to 7 Ultimate (x64). I currently have my laptop connected to an HP w2338h monitor with built-in speakers, and it gave me the option to use it in Vista. When I upgraded, I get the video perfectly fine but the audio does not work. I checked my Playback Devices, but it didn't have the HDMI Output. Oh and I installed the IDT Audio Driver and the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator from Windows Update. Any Ideas?
    Thanks!
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    SOLVED! The problem for me was that the Intel Driver itself was not compatible for some reason. If you go to Start > Right-Click Computer > Click Properties > Click Device Manager on the side > Go to Sounds and Audio Devices > Click on Intel High Deffinition Audio HDMI
    When you go through the update process, there is a second option for the driver itself called High Deffinition Audio Device. Use that driver instead and VOILA! Now it works perfectly fine.

  • Setting persistent interface options not availible in preferences.

    Hello,
    I'm looking for the proper place (file(s) to edit) to add customized network interface options which will be applied at boot up and anytime there are network location (kicker) change.
    I need to assign en0 a non default metric upon system boot and any time the interface may be reset. I can do this with "ifconfig en0 metric 100" but am looking for where I can automate this without requiring the client to type it in each time it is required.
    All machines are 10.5.x or 10.6.x.
    Thanks for your help,
    greg

    Insofar as system boot is concerned, you could create a launchd.plist file to do this and put it in /Library/LaunchDaemons/. Here is a draft plist that might do this -- in other words, I copied one of mine and made a couple of quick text edits so this may or may not work. But it should get you going down the right path.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN"
    "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>Label</key>
    <string>metric</string>
    <key>Disabled</key>
    <false/>
    <key>ProgramArguments</key>
    <array>
    <string>/sbin/ifconfig</string>
    <string>en0</string>
    <string>metric</string>
    <string>100</string>
    </array>
    <key>RunAtLoad</key>
    <true/>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    You may be able to use something like the "watchpaths" key if something in a file or directory someplace changes when the interface may be reset. That would add another key like
    <key>WatchPaths</key>
    <array>
    <string>/path/to/file/or/directory/to/watch</string>
    </array>
    Do a man launchd and man launchd.plist to read more about how to create launchd jobs. Also, look at how Apple has done some of theirs: /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.periodic-daily.plist, for example.

  • IN MY MAC option not shown on Mail left bar

    Hello everybody:
         I hope I can get some help on this.
         I use Mail for all my email activities.
         I like to move items from the Inbox, to a respective folder, using the right click, then Move to, and then it will appear the list of my folders.
         With the new Mountain Lion, A new step occur, since now I have to got through the In My Mac, and then the list of folder will appear. Previously, the In My Mac will appear in the left bar, but now It will only appear if I have the iCloud account activated. Something not optional, since this is my work Mac, and I use personal stuff in a different User Account.
         The main question is: How can I make to Appear the IN MY MAC option in the left bar on Mail?
    Thanks!
    Federico

    The first thing you need to do is to solve the problem of not being able to sign into iCloud.  Please describe your problem with that on the iCloud for Mac section.
    By the way, in the future try to use a reasonable short subject instead of trying to type your entire problem into that field.

  • Shared photo stream option not shown in settings

    i downloaded ios 6 in around the first hour that it was launched and i cannot find the menu that can turn on shared photo streams. i have a 4th gen ipod touch. i looked in the settings under the photos and camera menu as well as the share button on a picture in my camera roll, and it is not there.

    I just figured the solution out! It worked for me..
    The iCloud terms of use has changed, so this option is disappeared. You have to agree with the new terms.
    So delete the icloud from your iDevice and, add it again.
    Hope it work 4 u..

  • Deinstall Oracle option not shown!

    Hello,
    What is the the reason OIU while run with ./runInstaller don't show the welcome page and option to deinstall the products.Why it happens sometimes?
    Thanks,
    S.Mann

    It doesn't happen, unless you perform a silent install and handle the options to not to show the welcome page.
    Could you specify what's the product, the Version and the OS you are referring to?

  • Planning Option Not Visible in Configuration Utility

    Hi Everyone,
    I have created a Planning Application long back (Classic Application) [9.3.1]. Now we are about to create a new application. The stramge thing is that I am not able to see the Planning option in Configuration Utility. Previously I have installed EPMA and also cofigured the same, But never used EPMA. Now I have created a user in Rdbms and tried to create a Datasource for my new application. Unable to see the option where I can create datasource. Please guide what should be done. (able to see EPMA options like deploy server, configure databse, etc)
    I am able to access planning web and access my old Planning application. In fact also able to open Planning application wizard.(Here it asks for datasource).

    Hi John,
    I am also facing the same problem --- "planning option not shown at all in config utility". Scenario is also the same, some days ago BPMA has been installed though not in use. Planning is working properly, but now, when I want to create another datasource for another application creation, no planning option is showing.
    In C:\Hyperion\common\config\product there is no planning folder exists. Could you please suggest how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks & Regards.

    Hi jenette,
    If you are having issues using an HDTV via HDMI as an external display to your MacBook Air, you may find the following article helpful:
    OS X: How to use multiple displays with your Mac in Mountain Lion and earlier
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5019
    (Note: You will generally only see the arrangement option in Displays when you are configured to use the external display in Extended Desktop mode; there is no arrangement in Mirroring as both screens are showing the same image.)

    Quit System Preferences
    Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library"
    then go to Preferences folder and delete this file.
    /Preferences/com.apple.system preferences .plist
    Relauch System Preferences.

  • When I open TB, under "Accounts", it only shows the option "Create a new account". Option: "View settings for this account" is NOT shown.

    When I open TB, I no longer see any information about the TB account I've used for years. Instead, the main menu shows only "Accounts" -- "Create a new account - Email, Chat, Newsgroups, Feeds". Option: "View settings for this account" is NOT shown.
    Also the main menu does NOT show "Email - Read messages, Write a New Message" or "Advanced features", etc..
    The actual emails pertaining to the TB account I've used for years are still present under the "Users --> xxxxyyyy --> AppData --> Roaming --> Thunderbird' folder.

  • How to deactivate the rosetta option if it is not shown in information page

    Hi,
    by accident or why ever I clicked the option "start with rosetta" on my eyetv.app. STRANGE now the option is no longer viewable in information field and I can't start the application inside of the application folder because I get then the message "EyeTV can't run under Rosetta-Emulation" please deactivate the Option via Menu Ablage and unmark the option. BUT I can't see this option in information field. AND if i try to start the eyetv.app in an folder outside of applications it works.
    Anyone an idea

    Hi,
    thank you for the hint with command+i BUT THIS DOES NOT help of course, because I already wrote that I used this.
    I solved it now in different way which leads to a general question that somewhere the osx seems to note versions of programs and how to open them.
    Description of this issue now in detail:
    - I installed EyeTV in Version 3.0 on OSX 10.6 and started it.
    - a message appears that this program is not made for this OSX version (it was made for 10.5)
    - stupidly Elgato has no direct access to update from 3.0 to 3.1.2 which works with 10.6 WHICH means EyeTV has a buildin update BUT is useless if you can't start this app
    - OK this leads me to idea to enable the "Start with Rosetta option"
    - Didn't work
    - I took then an 3.1.2 Version from my TimeMachine Backup and copied it over the old ones
    - tried to start it and the message appear "This cannot run in Rosetta Mode"
    - HERE IT COMES the little option field where you can disable or enable Rosetta in the information of the eyetv 3.1.2 is not shown so I was unable to disable it of course
    - so i copied the file to a different directory and it works there normally
    - ..... AFTER 2 hours i remembered that I had set the "Start with Rosetta" option on version 3.0 and the Snow Leopard seems to have noted this somewhere and i need a trick to see this option and the only way is to use a version 3.0 file maybe the option will appear there again
    - ok copied Version 3.0 over the 3.1.2
    - AND AH the rosetta option appears and was enabled and I had here the possibility to disable or unmark it
    - then copy back the 3.1.2 Eyetv version file and AH it runs
    So imagine that someone else uses today an application which really needs rosetta, and a user activates this and after some month a Snow Leopard 64bit version comes and nobody tells the user to deactivate the rosetta version on old package before installing new one.... poor user, I guess the 64bit version will tell the crap "This application can't run under rosetta" and the user will never find the way to disable it.
    Hope there is a better way to find out for which application in which version was set the "start with rosetta" option in the system.
    IF ANYONE KNOWS PLEASE let me know
