HDMI recorder - Reassembling 4.3 gB chunks into one clip?

OK I'm stumped on this one. I acquired an HDMI recorder - the Atmos Ninja - and recorded two one-hour segments of the output of Camera A (Sony Z5U) onto the internal HD. The output is lovely 1920x1080 full raster 4:2:0 ProRes files, looking great. But the Ninja's current firmware uses FAT32 files, with a maximum size of 4.3 gB. Fortunately they butt together seamlessly, but the TC restarts at 00:00 at the beginning of each file. I need to sync this (using audio peaks) to the output of three other HD sources. Any way to recapture (or merge) the Cam A segments into two one-hour clips?
Thanks...

OK solved my own problem, with your help. I assembled my 4.3 clips butted together in another timeline and then chose "export to quicktime". I then unchecked "make self-contained file" and same settings and in about two minutes I had a perfectly usable 600 mB file from the first hour of footage. TC media start iis 01:00:00;00 and media end 01:56:07;06. Tried dropping this into my original timeline and its going to work great!. Only thing is the mono audio got panned into two lower amplitude files. That should be a quick fix. Thanks so much.

  • Combine multiple still images into one clip PE 10

    Is it possible to combine mulitple still images into a single clip? For example, I have 50 still images in a video track, each of which is a clip, and I want to combine them into single clip out of them so I can adjust the opacity without having to adjust each of the 50 clips individually. Any information is welcome. Thanks.

    Mark,
    I had done this but I was hoping there was an easier way to do it within PE, without having to export as a video file and then importing that video file.
    One has to think about what PrE is doing with the Timeline, to understand why the Export/Share is necessary to get Stills/Clips to become one file. PrE is a non-destructive editor, in that it does not actually work with the Source Footage/Files, but only extracts data from them. What we see on the Timeline is really a proxy file, representing the edits that we are making. It is stored as XML language, with first links to the Source Files, and then a set of instructions on what we have done with that data. Since the Timeline is but a representation, of what we have done, there is no AV file - yet. That does not come about, until we Export/Share. At that point, PrE looks at the Project file (PREL), and notes exactly what data is required from the Source Files. The program then reads that information, and say gathers the data of Clip # 1 from 00;00;00;00 until 00;05;00;00, for use in the output file. It then moves to say Clip 2, and extracts the data needed there. Finally, the program processes that data, say adding Effects, and then Exports/Shares to a new file - creating that from the data, and the instructions. Still, the originals are not changed in any way - they are untouched, and only read from.
    For instance, say we have a 20 min. Source Clip, and cut it into 30 tiny segments, "deleting" material between those. We have not really Cut that Source Clip, and we have not really deleted anything - only in our proxy file, and with the instructions in the PREL. It is the same with Still Images. We see them as separate Clips, with the Duration that we have set, and perhaps any animation that we have added via Keyframing the Fixed Effects>Motion>Scale (Zoom), and Motion>Position (Pan), but other than seeing those changes in the proxy file, used only for display of the Timeline and playback, nothing has been done yet. Then, upon Export/Share, when the output file is created, those changes are enacted on it.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Can I merge sequential video clips into one clip on import?

    I have 3 JVC GY-HM750U cameras  and they a recording into approx 10 min clips if you record for long durations.
    So if I record for 30 minutes I would have 3 consecutive clips. Usually this isn't that big of a deal but when we have 3 cameras running and we want to edit using multicam or multiclip editing it is kind of a pain when each angle is broken up into pieces.

    That's an interesting POV because my experience is that FCP handles intermittent recording breaks extremely well – as long as the camera is correctly identified.

  • Grouping synced audio + video clips into one clip?

    I've been asked to edit some footage together that was shot by some other people. They recorded the audio separate from the video on a Marantz device, but they used a clapboard to mark everything so it shouldn't be too much of a problem to sync the audio files with the video files.
    I can do that in the timeline, but I'd like to know if I can take multiple audio files and sync them with the one large video stream and have them treated as one single clip so I can easily cut them and put them in the timeline as usual?

    Just put them all in to a timeline and when you have them synced properly export the timeline as a reference or self-contained quicktime and re-import that file.

  • Multiple Movie symbols into one sprite sheet

    I have my character split into different symbols. Arms, Head, Body and so on. Each symbol (movie clip) has its own timeline of animation. How do I get all of my symbols into one clip without losing animation? I've tried selecting all of the symbols and and creating a new movie clip out of all of them together but when I try to covert to sprite sheet, it is just my entire character with no other sequences of movement on the sprite sheet.
    Thank you in advance

    There are a couple of things you could try depending on what exactly you need.
    1. Assuming your character has all the different body parts as separate symbols with their own animations within.
         a. Select all the body-part symbols in Library or on Stage, right-click and select 'Generate Sprite Sheet..'
         b. Check the sprite sheet preview - each of the selected symbols are packed one after the other.
    2. If you have one Movieclip containing all the body part symbols and you wish to export the animation as it is ==>
         a. Double click on the main movieclip to get inside it.
         b. Select all the body part symbols on stage and change their instance type to Graphic in the Properties panel.
         c. Increase the frames in the main movieclip's timeline (press F5) to cover the entire animation of its children.
         d. Now generate the sprite-sheet for main movieclip from library or stage and check the preview.

  • Making several audio clips into one

    One of the systems that I've worked on had something called "heal" but I don't remember if it was on Premiere on not.
    You simply several adjacent audio clips, right clicked and chose "heal".
    Anyway I have several pieces of sound next to each other (to fill a hole) and I want to make the them into one clip.
    How do I do it?
    And how do I paste into a space so that the space is filled with exactly the right length?
    Thank you,
    Michael

    Thanks for the reply.
    I don't think it was Premiere.
    I think it was ProTools ;-)
    From what I understand, you'll have to export and reimport in that audio track and range (by turning off other layers and using your in/out work area bar)
    With 5.5, you can send highlighted to Audition via right click, that may work for what you are trying to do, I haven't played with it enough.
    I highlighted the sections, right clicked and chose "nest" and that worked ;-)
    On your second question, do you mean video?  I don't know about "pasting" as a fit-to-fill, but you can fit-to-fill from your source monitor with 3 point editing+specifing the in/out on your sequence that you want filled.  The source in/out will stretch accordingly to fill your specified in/out.  Pay attention to what tracks are active.
    What I wanted to do was just to paste a piece of audio to fill a gap.
    The audio was longer than the gap so I just put it on a separate track, shortened it, and then dropped it into the hole. Not a big deal.
    I'm really only playing at the moment and am just going to watch some of the Lynda Premiere CS 5 video.

  • How to concatenate multiple records into one

    Hi everybody:
    I want to know if exist some way to concat multiple records into one without using cursors. For example, I have a table named "Authors" like this:
    Lan|Author
    English|Ernest Hemingway
    Spanish|Octavio Paz
    Spanish|Mario Vargas Llosa
    English|Sinclair Lewis
    Spanish|Gabriel García Márquez
    And I want to get this:
    Author
    Octavio Paz, Mario Vargas Llosa, Gabriel García Márquez
    I have worked with SQL Server and I can do something like this:
    CREATE FUNCTION dbo.MyConcat (@lan varchar(10))
    RETURNS varchar(5000) AS
    BEGIN
    declare @retvalue varchar(5000)
    set @retvalue=''
    select @retvalue = @retvalue + Author +',' from Authors where lan = @lan
    return substring(@retvalue,1,len(@retvalue)-1)
    END
    ie, do not use cursors to concatenate records. However, with ORACLE, I have to do someting like this.
    FUNCTION MyConcat(P_Lan IN VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    v_ret VARCHAR2(4000);
    v_element VARCHAR2(4000);
    v_cursor sys_refcursor;
    BEGIN
    OPEN v_cursor FOR SELECT Author FROM Authors where Lan = P_Lan
    LOOP
    FETCH v_cursor INTO v_elemento;
    EXIT WHEN v_cursor%NOTFOUND;
    IF v_ret IS NULL THEN
    v_ret := v_element;
    ELSE
    v_ret := v_ret || ', ' || v_element;
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    RETURN v_ret;
    END;
    Exist some other way to do this?
    Best Regards

    Tks both for answer... I forgot to mention that I am using Oracle 10g. I read about LISTAGG() but this function is available for Oracle 11g release 2.
    I wil read about the other techniques than Hoek mention

  • Concatenate multiple records into one single record

    Hello everyone,
    Can anyone guide me how to merge multiple records into one single record
    like......... I am getting the data in the file like
    aaaaa/bbbbbbb/ccccccccccc/dddddddddddd/eee
    ffffff/gggg/hhhhhhhhhhhhhh
    /123/4567/55555/99999999/kaoabfa/eee
    fffff/kkkkkkkk/llllllllllllllllllllllll
    when i use gui_upload I am getting the data into the internal table in the above format.
    My main intension is to split the record at / to multiple lines and dowload it into another file.
    What i am planning to do is... if the line does not start with / then i want to concatenate the multiple lines into single line and then split it into multiple records. Can anyone guide me how to achieve this.

    Yes, it should work.
    In my example
    Loop at itab.
    concatenate i_text itab into i_text.
    endloop.
    You change that loop for the loop of your internal table with the file records
    So if you have this three records
    'aaaa/bbb/ccc'
    '/dddd/efg'
    'hijk/lmn'
    i_text will look like this at the end
    'aaaa/bbb/ccc/dddd/efghijk/lmn'
    then in this part of the code
    split i_text at '/' into table itab2.
    itab2 will have the records looking like this
    aaaa
    bbb
    ccc
    dddd
    efghijk
    lmn'

  • Import broke down movie into equal clips of 0.01  duration. How can I join them back into the actual length recorded on the camera

    My recent import from my camera into imove resulted in the entire video being seperated into many equal lengh mini clips with a duration of 0.01 seconds.  When playining through these it is sped to quick to even see what is going on.  What happened to cause this?

      ('cause then i can walk away and it makes the separate shoots into separate clips .. instead of having to sit at FCP for hours to log them individually)
    FPC has a feature called DV Start/Stop Detect.  You can Cature Now an entire tape and run the Start/Stop detect and it will separate each of your clips based on the metedata.  It will recognize each individual time you started then stopped recording by placing a marker at the beginning of each clip.  Then you drop all the markered shots into a new bin and it makes subclips out of them.  Easy.  You can read more about it in the manual. It's a very helpful tool.

  • Writing multiple BLOB (PDF) records into one PDF file

    I currently have a procedure that writes an individual BLOB pdf row and outputs it to a PDF file, however I would like to write multiple BLOB rows into one PDF.
    Oracle version:10g R2.
    Does anyone know whether it is possible to do this?
    Here is my code, I was hoping to use a cursor FOR LOOP to read the BLOB records. The BLOB records do successfully load into a new PDF file, however when you open it the PDF only the first page is viewable. I am assuming the issue is to do with the PDF format rather than writing the data out to the file. I.e. the Page numbers etc.., incorrect formatting of the PDF?
    declare
    -- Test statements here
    b BLOB;
    amount BINARY_INTEGER;
    file_handle UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;
    l_pos INTEGER := 1;
    l_blob_len INTEGER;
    l_buffer RAW (32767);
    l_amount BINARY_INTEGER := 32767;
    file_name_ VARCHAR2(200);
    pattern_id_ VARCHAR2(200) := '5555555';
    pdf_path_ VARCHAR2(200) := 'PDF_OUT';
    cursor get_blob_recs is
    select pdf from mds_remote_pdf_tmp;
    BEGIN
    file_name_ := to_char(pattern_id_)||'.PDF';
    file_handle := UTL_FILE.FOPEN(pdf_path_,file_name_,'wb');
    FOR rec_ IN get_blob_recs LOOP
    l_blob_len := DBMS_LOB.getlength (rec_.pdf);
    l_pos := 1;
    WHILE l_pos < l_blob_len
    LOOP
    DBMS_LOB.READ (rec_.pdf, l_amount, l_pos, l_buffer);
    UTL_FILE.put_raw (file_handle, l_buffer, FALSE);
    l_pos := l_pos + l_amount;
    END LOOP;
    END LOOP;
    UTL_FILE.FCLOSE(file_handle);
    end;
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    David.

    I guessed there was more to a PDF file format than just amending the BLOB objects!. I think I'll have to create a function with an IN param containing the PDF file list, and invoke a Java class to merge the PDFs in the OS.
    My requirement is to record the history of when a hand written form was completed. E.g. a user might complete half a document one day, and the rest of the document another day, therefore I want one PDF with two pages of the same form at different stages of completion. These forms are currently being created as two separate PDFs, and the problem is I am restricted to displaying only one PDF!
    Thank you.
    David.

  • Merging video clip separated into two clips in camera

    Working with a Canon 5D mk3 and a single clip was separated into two clips by the camera. Trying to merge them back into a single clip so that I can then merge into a multiclip arrangment with footage from second camera and off camera audio. Have followed the following process from support:
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=29%2 6section=4%26tasks=true
    When dragging the selection back into the Browser, a single file is not created but rather the two separate files.
    Suggestions?
    Thank you.

    The only way for FCP to stitch separate shots is if it is shot in a format that is supported by the Log and Transfer function, and if the camera is designed to merge the clips into one shot via the metadata.  For example, P2 breaks up the footage into 4GB chunks, due to the P2 card format's 4GB file size limit. AVCHD will do the same thing, as will XDCAM.  But the metadata recorded by the camera informs the NLE that they are essentially one clip, so when you convert via Log and Transfer, FCP (And Avid, and Adobe) will stitch them together.
    But this only works with supported formats.  H.264 from DSLRs...not supported...by any NLE.  Even though you can L&T Canon 5D Mark 2 footage (Mark 3 is unsupported, as it is a newer camera, and FCP was discontinued before it came out), it still keeps the media separate.  Sorry...that's the drawback to shooting DSLRs.  The ones that shoot AVCHD...will be stitched, because they have advanced metadata support.
    FCP-X will multiclip these separate files, however. Because it doesn't have issue with broken clips. It's the best multicam function of any NLE.

    UJD_TEST_PACKAGE , but we get errors with %SELECTION% prompt variable.
    Is there any other solution you can advise?
    If we use the program UJD_TEST_PACKAGE how do we fill AnswerPrompt paremeter file for the dynamic script below?
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,,,"Lütfen bir kategori seçiniz.","%CATEGORY_DIM%,%TIME_DIM%")
    PROMPT(TEXT,%LEVEL%,"XX Level",,"7,6,5,4,3,2,1")
    INFO(%EQU%,=)
    INFO(%TAB%,;)
    TASK(XXX_LOGIC,TAB,%TAB%)
    TASK(XXX_LOGIC,EQU,%EQU%)
    TASK(XXX_LOGIC,SUSER,%USER%)
    TASK(XXX_LOGIC,SAPPSET,%APPSET%)
    TASK(XXX_LOGIC,SAPP,MM)
    TASK(XXX_LOGIC,SELECTION,%SELECTION%)
    TASK(XXX_LOGIC,LOGICFILENAME,XXXX.LGF)
    TASK(XXX_LOGIC,REPLACEPARAM,LEVEL%EQU%%LEVEL%)

    Hi.  I have a similar issue to the one posted below in that I want to run a logic script for one application (call it Application A) from a DM package in a different application (Application B).  This is to stop the user from having to switch between applications to run the logic.
    I have tried the following:
    1. I have tried putting the script logic from App A into App B, but the dimensionality is different so it fails to validate.
    2. I have tried "hard coding" the application name within the process chain, but it fails with an error "u201CAn exception with the type CX_SY_TABLE_KEY_SPECIFICATION occurred ...." similar to the post below.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sean
