This is actually the peer support forum for Toshiba USA. While you are still welcome here, yours would appear to be Toshiba Europe model, perhaps from Hungry. In the future, you may want to consider using the Toshiba Europe Forum.
Given your problem, I would try to reload your latest Toshiba supplied display driver, as it is this driver which handles HDMI sound. While we are at it, let's reload your Intel Chipset Utility as well. Download these two drivers, these are .zip files, so you will have to extract the .exe files and double click on the .exe files to install, rebooting after installing each one, in this order:
    Intel Chipset Utility
    AMD Display Driver
After the second reboot, test your HDMI sound again.
Please let us know what happens. Good luck.

  • 650ti 3 monitor no hdmi sound problem

At the moment, I do not have any sound on the TV through my hdmi connection. Not sure why or what happened. But have you found a solution?
What I have done is connected my pc through the hdmi to my Sanyo and extended my display, this is my "3rd monitor device"
    So monitor 1 is dvi
monitor 2 to the vga connector
then the tv connected through the hdmi cable.
Whenever I try to play a movie on the TV the picture shows, but the sound doesn't play through the tv.
I have to have my speakers connected to the pc to hear sound.
Before when I had a different video card, the sound played back from the tv as long as I unplugged my speakers.
    What am I doing wrong?

i have checked the hdmi ports themselves, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, checked the sanyo tv settings on the hdmi ports (hdmi sound set to auto), used a diff hdmi cord, done everything under the sun aside from throwing the pc out the window...

  • HP High Definition Audio Device Code 10 Error -- Causing HDMI Sound Problem

Hey guys, my laptop is an HP ENVY TouchSmart m7-j010dx Notebook PC, running Windows 8.1.
When I connect my laptop to my LG Smart TV through HDMI, I cant change the playback device to play the sound from the TV. The HDMI option does not appear in ¨Sound¨.
When I look in Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers; the High Definition Audio CODEC has an error which says (Device status):
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.
I have tried reinstalling and updating the drivers, cleaning and defraging the registry, optimizations etc.
I followed steps from other posts with similar problem as mine and nothing seems to work, I do not want to reinstall my windows just for this! I am running out of options, I tried everything I could for the past week. I would really appreciate some expert advice.
    Thanks!

Ahhhhh,  Most tv's have a couple or more,  you may want to try Component cables then,  You can call Verizon or open a live chat, they may send you some for free, or they may point you towards their website www.verizon.com/fiosaccessories
I'd open a live chat and see if I could get them for free personally, but they are also very cheap at www.amazon.com
They are HD cables that support upto 1080p

  • Hdmi sound problem began after 10.7.2 update

Since I've applied the latest update, I am no longer able to switch my audio output from headphones to HDMI. I change between the two on a near daily basis. I hadn't previously encountered this problem with any 10.6 or the previous 2 releases of Lion. I have a Panasonic TV. Whenever I click to change the output from headphones to hdmi from either the top bar sound icon or through settings/sound it reverts right back to headphones...

Those with no audio at all, do you have 2010 or 2011
Minis or something else?  Reason I am asking, is that
I have updated my 2010 to 10.7.2 (hoping it fixed iTunes
movie issues, didn't) and have had no change in my
    audio performance.   My configuration is:
    Mini->Yamaha Receiver->Samsung TV.
I know in the past, trying to debug some other issues,
having the HDMI and optical connected at the same time
defaulted to optical out and could not get HDMI audio.
It seems that deep in the Hardware/Fimware/LowLevelDriver
there is some link between the two and probably the original
designer is gone and the people working on it now are
clueless as to how it works.

Nichrome, this user is using Windows 8/8.1, and the driver settings are MUCH different from Windows 7.
Unfortunately, your first screenshots don't apply (as you found out) because in 8/8.1 they removed the actual display settings from that control panel.
As you posted, the user needs to enable the default sound via the sound control panel.
I'm not certain, but you might need to go into your Intel IGP GPU drivers as well and setup the sound output.
I couldn't understand what you meant with IGP GPU drivers but , im downloading that (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24003) right now. im not sure about is that what u meant
Edit: I tried to reinstall the graphic card driver with 331.40. nothing happened :(
Edit2: I have just learned something in the geforce forum. The PCs which called Optimus is using Intel graphic and Nvidia or something like that. On those PCs there is no display function in Nvidia control panel.
but that means that I can't watch any movies from my TV ? :( (unless i dont have 5+1 2+1 system)

  • Mini Display Port to HDMI sound problem

I have an iMac 11, 2 (MacOS X, 10.6.8).  The Mini Display Port is supposed to be able to carry sound, (using a Monoprice Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Converter with Audio, and HDMI cord supporting 3D, and Audio Return.)  I am playing downloaded movies with VLC, which works fine on the computer.  When I try to burn DVD disc using Toast Titanium, I get video, but no sound.  So, I figure I can watch movies on my Vizio 42" TV screen with the MiniDisplayPort to HDMI cord.  I learned that to use the MiniDisplayPort I have to go to click the box for Mirror Display.  In System Preferences--- Sound---- Output Tab, the only two choices are:  Headphones...... Headphone Port, and E3D420VX....... HDMI, neither of which seem to help "push" sound through the MiniDisplayPort.
So, I give up and watch the movie on the Vizio screen (through the HDMI cord), while listening to sound on the little computer speakers.  After watching a couple of movies, and then not doing anything for a few minutes, all of a sudden the movie starts replaying off the play list, and lo and behold..... sound coming through the TV speaker system!!!  (So, I know the HDMI cable is capable of carrying audio.)
If any one can help me figure out how to get sound through the HDMI cord all the time,  it would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello,
    Long shot, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

  • Hdmi sound problems with m9150f in media center

I am running a pavilion m9150f Q6600 vista 32 bit and GeForce 8500 gt graphics on a sony wega 55" lcd projection tv. Recently I have been having problems with media center sound. Recorded programs from standard channels (2-64) seem fine but hd channels (1341, for example) produce an error message stating "Unsupported Audio Signal. Please check device output." Which kills all sound from Pc. After shuffling through various output options, often returning to the original settings, and occasionally reinstalling devices or drivers, the problem is fixed. Then, seemingly at random, POOF!, error occurs again.I am at my wits end and am ready to throw my PC out in the street and hit it with a bus! Please help prevent its untimely demise.
     Thank you.

    Hi again
I have downloaded the Realtek sound driver from the Tosh page and unzipped it.
(I have chosen the driver for Vista!!! I suppose you use Vista???)
There is a folder called sound. Access this folder and run Setup.exe
But before you will start this procedure you could access the device manager (control panel -> computer -> device manager) and choose sound, video, and game controller. There you have to mark realtek AC and click on uninstall and reboot the unit.
After this sound driver removing you should start the new driver installation described above. (setup.exe)

  • [SOLVED]Another HDMI sound problem

I'm running an ATI Radeon HD 5770 and the HDMI output isn't working. I've followed the step in the Arch Wiki to add these lines to /boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg :
    LABEL arch
    MENU LABEL Arch Linux
    LINUX ../vmlinuz-linux
    APPEND root=/dev/sda1 ro radeon.audio=1
    INITRD ../initramfs-linux.img
However, when I save the file it says that the file doesn't exist. Is this normal? I mean I can always create the file, but I don't want to mess anything up with the display drivers and such. Should I just create this file, add those few lines, reboot, check alsamixer and see if the sound works? May sound like a dumb question but I'm being EXTRA cautious

Good call, I'm using GRUB. So that probably means I need to edit:

    (Sorry for my bad english)

    Hi
    >I installed on my Qosmio Windows 8.1 and all driver.
As far as I know the Qosmio X70-A-12N were preinstalled with Windows 8.1 64bit system and this OS was configured by Toshiba.
Did you install new Windows 8.1 or did you use the Toshiba system?
Did you create recovery medium (recovery disk or USB flash memory stick)?
In case you create such recovery disk, I would recommend you to use it in order to set the system back to factory settings. This should fix your HDMI sound issue.
How about other Toshiba software installation like for example Toshiba system driver, display driver etc? Did you install all the Win 8.1 drivers and tools which were released for this unit?
Missing software could be main reason for your HDMI issue
