how can we connect apple tv-2 to a vga projector? what should we use?
can we use an hdmi to vga adapter sold separately?

A compliant converter wouldn't confirm it was connected to an HDCP compliant device and the Apple TV wouldn't send the movie (or send the "HDCP is not supported" message).
A converter that is not compliant would confirm (circumvent protection) it was connected to an HDCP compliant device and the Apple TV would be fooled into sending the movie.

I tried what you said again but without success. I even updated the driver so that that audio driver is the same as the graphics driver i.e.. NVIDIA but this has not helped either:

Detect HDMI or VGA connection

Dear forum members,
Out of some reasons, I want that one of my LabVIEW programs runs only if the laptop is connected to my audio and video system via HDMI. The program shall give a warning or similar if the laptop is connected to the audio and video system via VGA.
So, is there any way how I can detect if the laptop is connected via HDMI or VGA?

The idea is great. Unfortunately, I have different laptops which behave differently.
One changes the display size the other not id I connect them to the HDMI wire.
So, I cannot really use the All Monitors Application for detecting if there is a HDMI or VGA connection.
Meanwhile, I also think that I will build in my program some dialog in - this is easy and will work for sure.

To map the drive on your computer click on Start - RUN - type "\\192.168.1.1" and click ok... When prompted for Username and Password type "admin" and click ok... Now you will be able to see the folder which you have shared on your router, right click on it and select "Map network drive" and click on finish.
Now it will map the drive on your computer and you should be able to transfer the file from your computer to the USB drive.

S2110 HDMI to VGA connection

Hi all - I bought a micro- HDMI to VGA converter to connect the S2110 tablet to a projector. I've connected it to a computer moniter and a TV, to test it, but there seems to be no signal. Is there an app or a configuration that needs to be done to enable the HDMI out of the tablet?

How do get video to hdmi TV port without using apple tv?

My new non retina macbook pro 13 inch is supposed to arrive soon. My old 42 inch Vizeo only has one hdmi port that works so I was planning to use it a s moniter for my DAW. The apple tv is for the living room, not the room where my DAW is. But as far as I can tell there is no mini display or anything on this computer other than thunderbold , usb and firewire, the firewire to be used for my MOTU audio interface. Any ideas on how to get this old VIzeo to be external moniter basically

HDMI or VGA connection?

I have a 50 inch Panasonic Veisa Plasma screen which i would like to connect to my Mac mini which I am using to store all my backed-up dvds. through front row I would like to use the mac mini as a video server to watch my movies
when I connect with DVI/HDMI cable I get the overscan issue.
When i use the "PC" input on the plasma at 1280 x 768 I lose about 20 pixels top and bottom. the movie therefore has larger black ribbons on top and bottom than when I watch it directly from the dvd on my dvd player.
Any ideas?

You might want to check over at the AVS Forum in the Mac area for information. For example, this:

But I don't really know if that applies to your display or not. You could also check there in the plasma panel forum and seach on the term "powerstrip" and "panasonic" to see if you can get any specific timing information for your TV from those who have connected one to a PC. Good luck.

"Connect using Apple ID" not working

I have two Macs both running latest version of Lion on my home wireless network (created using a Netgear WGR614v9.
Both Macs have a user account associated with my Apple ID, and I've enabled file sharing for the user associated with my Apple ID on Mac "A"
Mac "B" will connect fine to Mac "A" if I log on using my OSX account and passord, but if I try to log on using the Apple ID associated with that same account, I get the error below:
Could this be an issue with my router or is there some config on the Mac side that might be wrong?

recently purchased a thunderbolt connection because hdmi to vga connection doesn't work on macbook pro. had to punt and go to thurnderbolt connection for vga and the result is....blurry picture on mirrored display. running latest version of maverick.

What you've asked is true. You can buy similar displays from Dell or other manufacturers that will work with your laptop. Many of the Dell's use the same internal LG panels, so quality is similar.

If the HDMI input to the Samsung is not compatible, does it have a VGA or composite input? I have both the HDMI and VGA adapters for the iPad, which work with the small Vizio HDTV I tried. I understand a composite video adapter is also available.

This should allow me to pass thru high definition video and simultaneously decode Dolby Digital material with an HDMI connection from my receiver to my TV without the use of an optical cable (my receiver does not have an optical input). I am unable to decode 5.1 material and don't understand why this is not working. In the audio setting I have Dolby Digital output turned on.

DVI interface does't allow audio. Is there optical IN from your Panasonic TV? By then you can connect your ATV to Panasonic using optical together. It will work.
