HDR Pro Just Quits
When I open photoshop CS6, got to Merge to HDR, Load three RAW images that were properly prepared, and press the OK button - Layers are created, and then everything disappears. No Images, No Layers, No HDR Image, No Erros Statement, Nothing. Its like I just started Photoshop. What is happening?
Ian:
That's a good idea. I will try that.
Thanks

Log & Capture Screen not opening and Final Cut Pro just quits! HELP!
Hi everyone,
I've been searching through the forums and reading up on similar issues but to no avail my problem still exists and I'm about to put a hammer to my computer. I have a G5 Mac at work and use my G4 for home use. Earlier today I was at work and was capturing my footage perfect using my Canon XH A1 using firewire and everything went well. Later on in the day when working on my G4, using the same settings and equipment from earlier, when I hit apple+8 it shows that the program is understanding my command but after a min without a screen appearing, final cut pro just quits. Now I've tried everything from deleting my preferences, final cut user data, you name it and I've tried yet still not able to get the screen to capture. I've even tried switching the firewire port just in case its a bad connection and still nothing. Can someone help me out so my computer can live to see another day.
Thank You
Message was edited by: Jason81You updated to 10.5?
What FCP 5 version are you running -5.0 or 5.1?
You need 5.1 if you have Mac OS X 10.5.
Also, get rid of the Norton AV -it's a terrible resource hog and interferes with everything.
I would go as far as to suggest Norton is trying to check the incoming data from your video capture.
Turn it off at least, and see if there is any improvement.
If you must use AV to avoid passing something to Windows users, get a free copy of ClamXav. It can be set to check only incoming stuff like Mail and downloads. Has a very small footprint and is only active when it should be. I use ClamXav myself as I often deal with FTP transfers. -
DVD STUDIO PRO JUST QUITS OR FREEZES
I have 3 firewire drives attached and when in DVD studio Pro 2.0, sometimes the programme freezes or simply quits when I am building a DVD
This problem has previously never occurred when on my PowerMac G4 when I had less memory installed.
Should I upgrade to a different version of DVDSP? Or is this simply a matter of having too many external drives attached? If you qualify, you must upgrade to the Universal Binary version of DVDSP.

Otherwise, it's a full price upgrade -
So, I was watching a soccer match on TV and wanted to check the score on my computer (I mean a play by play). Got an alert for a software update. Did so, and hit the 'restart' option when it came up. Suddenly, when it restarts and I enter my security password, it transfers me to the menu to register my newly bought mac product, which is odd since I did all that in November when I bought it. That being said, it has the picture I use as my profile pic, which seems to me to mean it's clear the memory is present. I go through the rigamarole just for the sake of getting things going, and when it finally gets to the window that says, "Enjoy your mac product" it goes immediately back to the "Which region are you in" menu (ie. back to the initialization phase of my new computer). I tried opting to shut down the System registration menu upon starting up and it just goes back to the same thing above. So, I go to shutdown, and it freezes up again, so I cold boot (again). The same menu 'options' come up, with the exact same results.
Listen, I'm pretty upset about all this, so if you can offer any advice/suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate it. I have this back up which I'm on now, but it's not equipped with the newest OS and doesn't have everything my new/old computer has (backup-wise).
More details: This happened immediately after I checked for a software update, and downloaded the files it said could be updated. Shortly before that, though (and otherwise I would think it was completely the update), my 'mighty mouse' stopped working, though the trackpad was okay.
People.... I love you all... if there's a solution that'll keep me from going to mac on Monday, let me know, I beg of you. As it is, I cannot at all access my new computer by any means, as it won't let me get past the registration menu. Thanks so much for the reply. Did what you suggested, and am currently going through the works.... however, it seems I am going through a reinstallation process, as though my computer was the day I opened it.... it's reinstalling Leopard. I just hope the backup I have can be transfered... Despite holding down 'c' on boot it didn't give me any other options.
I'll be back with the results ASAP. I hope that last back up this evening worked. -
Help! my 2007 Macbook Pro just quit and will not reboot. What should I do?
The white screen, Apple logo, and spinning circle is as far as it will go.
Reinstall OS X.

Mac Pro just quit making any sounds. I've restarted, checked all connections, and I can't get it to make a peep. Everything I can find when I search relates to MacBook Pro's not Mac Pro desktop machines.
I've checked the Sound control panel, and it's set to "line out". I have external speakers hooked up through the jack on the back of the machine. It was working fine this morning, and midday it just stopped working.
Any ideas?
Tks
ButchThere are a few things you can try, first of restart the phone (hold the lock button untill you see the bar then slide to power off).
Erase all settings from Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings.
Backup and restore via iTunes on a computer.
There is a reason it costs a little more to get it repaired through apple. All apple repairs are covered by a 3 month repair warranty for things exactly like this. You may still be able to get it fixed by apple but they dont always accept devices with third party tampering. -
HI, I just bought Photoshop CS5 and I have a problem with HDR pro
HI, I just bought Photoshop CS5 and I have a problem with HDR pro . when I am trying to mount 3 images together it act in a strange way ( the images appear and disappear many times) then when the window with the result appear and I say ok it open up in photoshop as a single image ( in the layers there is just 1 photo) and when I am trying to work it up with the Plug in/filter HDR Effex Pro (Nik softwear) a pop up window appear saying that the file is missing and the operation it is not possible. Why and what is happening ? Someone can help me ?
This is normal operation. The output from HDR pro does not produce a layered file. You make all your adjustments in the Nik Plug-in. Once Nik has finished you then make any rinal changes in Photoshop. Trying to use NIK again on the image in Photoshop is not the way to do this.
When HDR pro comes up do you see all the presets and controls? Presets on the left and controls on the right

Another HDR Pro Issue (The operation could not be completed.)
HDR Pro worked about three weeks ago. An Adobe update came out maybe a week or two ago that may have broken the functionality of HDR Pro for me.
http://i.imgur.com/LIvpLjn.jpg
I have Googled around quite a bit and not found this particular issue, or a solution crop up. Following several posts on the forum following this format:
Here are some suggestions to work around the issue. In the meantime, we'll work on helping XP-32 & Photoshop play nicely.
Try a different memory setting (65%-ish. Try to give Photoshop ~1G and leave the rest to the system). Restart.
Quit unnecessary applications.
Try quitting Bridge and running Merge to HDR from File > Automate > Merge to HDR
Other things to test out in the Performance Preference panel
• Try a larger or the largest Tile Size - you've got it set to smallest. Not sure which is better for this case.
• Try lowering History States to 5. Other, less likely, suspects:
Corrupt prefs: Reset preference file.
Same-named drive: Be sure there is no other directory is named identically to a folder in the Photoshop app path.
Conflict with "Open Documents as Tabs = OFF" Prefrence (Interface) setting.
I can say that it is not an issue with memory, applications, Bridge (not used), too small of a tile size, history state (lowered to 5, increased to 53...), removed and recreated prefs, naming conflict, or a tab issue (tried both on and off). I have tried every permutation under the graphics processor settings. I have even done a 'hard reset' or whatever by ctrl/shift/alt clicking the executable on launch. HDR Pro will not work in the 32-bit version of CS6, either.
Again, HDR Pro worked perfectly on 5/14. Since then the only changes to the system have come from Adobe (whatever was updated recently), and the infamous Patch Tuesday. Even previously-merged images fail to merge now.
Thanks.

CC 2014 Merge to HDR Pro stalls before completing
I have been using the Merge to HDR Pro command for the last couple of days without issue. This morning it has stopped working - the files are loaded into Layers and the alignment process begins but then the script cancels, leaving me with the stack of Layers in a 16Bit document:
I've checked the following so far:
- Quit/ Restart Photoshop and Bridge
- Deleted the Photoshop Settings file on next launch
- Tried an alternate batch of brackets
- Selected fewer / more images from sequence to batch merge
- Ran the script from File > Automate menu instead
Any ideas why this has started to happen ?
Edit: The script seems to work ok if I process .psd versions of the files instead of the .NEFs ...

Bridge tools are set up with Bridge Startup Scripts. On Windows Bridge CC 64bit and Bridge CC 32Bit version both seen to use the start up scripts setup for the 32bit Bridge Bridge CC 64bit does not see what is in the CC 64Bits startup scripts folder. There are also problems on windows system registry for Photoshop shell commands Open and Edit. I do not use the Bridge often. Just use it to edit metadata and syncing batches of RAW File setting. I do not use Photoshop from the Bridge. But seem to be able to For I put Startup scripts in the 32bit location and fixed my windows registry keys for Phoroshop.exe....

CS6 - Merge to HDR Pro fails to complete
I'm running Win 7, 32-bit and just picked up LR 4.1 and CS6. I've updated everything to the latest versions. I'm shooting with a Nikon D800.
I'm trying to merge 7 pictures using Merge to HDR Pro. I've tried this using raw files (NEF) and converted JPG files. I select the 7 files, PS comes up with the first picture showing. It starts to process the second picture and the filename changes to something like Untitled_HDR1. After a few seconds, that picture goes away and nothing else happens.
Have I got my settings screwed up?

Although you are on Win7 32-bit, this may apply to your issue.
There are some 32-bit XP-specific issues we're addressing before shipping that are related to memory.
I'm pretty sure that's the issue you're running into. I'm sorry for the trouble it's causing you.
Corrupt prefs: Reset preference file: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4209421#4209421
Same-named drive: Be sure there is no other directory is named identically to a folder in the Photoshop app path.
Conflict with "Open Documents as Tabs = OFF" Prefrence (Interface) setting.
Please let us know what ends up working best for your system.
Thanks,
Meredith
Also, if Remove Ghosts = ON, it sometimes selects an extreme exposure as its base image (noted by green frame around the thumbnail in the dialog). Try selecting a different base image - just click on a different thumbnail.
Are you still having issues after updating (Photoshop: Help > Updates...) ?
Do any of these solve the problem for you? -
I 'm operating CS5 on iMac 10.10.2.....Q.the last two or three times I have tried to use "Merge to HDR Pro" the aplication quits with no image...I have restarted the system which does not solve the problem.
Details about your setup, please.
BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
A screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).

Merge to HDR Pro???
Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5. In Lightroom choose "Edit in" and "Merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop". Select 32 bit in HDR Pro and selection available is "Tone in ACR". When selected the image is presented in Camera Raw. The only choices afterward are "Cancel" or "Okay". Return to Photoshop is blank desktop and no toolbars and no image. If you select "Save" the invisible HDR image is saved back to Lightroom but the photoshop desktop is not useable and you must quit Photoshop and re-launch. Previous Photoshop CS6 round trip with this function worked just fine.
Thanks for your response.
I actually figured it out.
Thing is, I have been working with LR since it started along with PSE from about v4 but never worked with Photoshop until I joined the CC.So when I right clicked a file or files and chose 'edit in', I only saw PSE or Topaz as options. I never had a choice of 'merge to HDR pro in Photoshop'. So, what I did wrong was to send three photos to 'edit in Photoshop' and then did the merge to HDR. When finished I clicked the 'x' on each file name and they closed and went away. The three that came from LR, went back to LR. The HDR went to my last open file on my 'C' drive. Even though I found the file, I couldn't import it into LR. But that's another issue.
I got the hint from a Linda Kost (is that right name) tutorial on HDR processing. She showed how to work from 'Bridge' which showed the 'edit in merge to HDR' command. She worked with a Mac, I work on a PC and so I looked for it in LR thinking it might be there as in Bridge. And it was. Would have saved me some time if she also referened the PC workflow also.
Thanks again for responding. -
Merge to HDR Pro: What you see is not what you get?
I am using PSCC on an iMac (Mavericks). When I bring bracketed shots into PSCC's Merge to HDR Pro, I can work the settings and/or presets to get an image that looks OK. However, when I exit from HDR Pro by clicking OK, the image displayed in PSCC is very different from what I was just looking at in HDR Pro. The screenshots here show just one example, working in 16-bit mode. Other images show even greater differences. Working in 32-bit mode makes it even worse. This did not use to happen in my earlier versions of PS (perpetual license). Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Yes I realised that. There are now quite a few applications for processing HDR, and IMO Photomatix has always been the best of them, and certainly did a better job than Photoshop. My point was that the old 'Merge to HDR Pro' workflow is now redundant if you have Photoshop CC, and that using Camera RAW as outlined by Julianne Kost, has suddenly leapfrogged all the competition by an order of magnitude.
So I strongly urge you to take Mr Prengel's advice. Output the image in 32bit, and use ACR to process it. Did you watch the video tutorial I linked to?
You certainly shouldn't get all pixel-peeper about how the 32bit image looks on your screen. It is not possible to show the tonal width of a 32 bit image on a computer screen, so you are seeing a 'representation' of how it might look after processing.
FWIIW I have taught HDR (and Photoshop) to some of the best photographers in the world at two PSNZ National Conventions back in 2010 and 2011, so I kind of have strong opinions about it. Not that I use it excessively, but it is a very handy tool to keep in your photographic skills repertoire.
Trevor,
I am sorry if I misunderstood your post. I am actually using the same workflow as Julianne Kost in her video (which I had watched prior to posting here). And, as I posted above, I do agree with Mr. Prengel that I should just take the 32 bit image into Camera Raw and do the toning there. As a matter of fact, that is what I have been doing in Photoshop CC (sending the pictures from Lightroom, same as Julianne Kosts does), and I can do a very good job, if I say so myself.
So the question I had was merely one of puzzlement at seeing the difference between the image just before exiting HDR Pro and what shows up in Camera Raw. In the examples I provided, and in many other cases, it clearly went beyond pixel-peeping: they were two very different images. But I think I understand now why this is, which you kindly pointed out: it is not possible to show the tonal width of a 32 bit image on a computer monitor. I had not considered that and I thank you for mentioning it.
It may be that in some cases (as in Julianne Kosts's video) the representation in HDR Pro is actually pretty close to the initial view in Camera Raw, but in other cases (my examples) it is not. Not really an issue, I agree. -
CS5: Having trouble with HDR Pro.
I just got my copy of CS5, and tried HDR Pro. The main HDR Pro screen cuts off at the bottom, hiding (presumably) the OK and Cancel buttons and whatever else is there. I have to Force Quit my way out of CS5. Other CS5 screens that I checked show no such problem. CS4 and PSE8 and PSE9 never had this problem on the same computer and OS. What's going on?
I am using an iMac with OSX 10.6.8.Any information?
