HDR Problems in CS5
Hello, tried the function "Merge to HDR Pro", it works only with 2 pics (RAW from 450D), if i chose more pics - it's working some time and just stops. The same if i chose more than 3 jpg's. It's on CS5.
Tried on MacBook Pro MB990 with 4 GB of ram, Mac OS 10.6.4
I've tried the same function with the same 6 RAW pics on another computer, it have only 2 gb of ram, Mac OS 10.5.7, and Photoshop CS4, and it's work fine! It looks like there's something wrong with CS5.
Is there any way to make it work on CS5? I don't know if it's somehow connected with last Mac OS update 10.6.4, i didn't try this function before update.
Just tried the "merge to HDR Pro" using Photoshop CS5's own sample pictures and EACH TIME THE APPLICATION CRASHES.
Have send reports, but as usual no reply from Adobe !!!
Tried opening 4, then 3 and then only 2 of theses pictures to test but again and again it crashes _ PLEASE HELP

My HDR merge was working
a few days ago but now when try to merge to HDR From Bridge CS5 Freezes and I have to use my task manager to exit the program. From reading the forums It seems that I am not the only one with this kind of a problem with HDR. Is Adobe aware of the problem and is there an update on the way to fix it or does anyone out there have a solution?Not easily, because the 64 bit version would get updates, and the (older) installer might refuse to install because of the changes.\
Just install both as usual, and use only the 64 bit version. -
Printing problem in cs5 and imac 27
I have been running my Epson Stylus Pro 4800 on a macbook pro and cs3, for a couple of years with no problems whatsoever. I have now upgraded to a new iMac 27"and have had nothing but problems with the 4800. I have made my own profils and used Epson paper profiles but the prints are not as colourful as they used and totally wrong as well. I am also getting totally oversized prints compared to what image seize in ps is set to be.....for example, I have been doing a 10x21 test picture on Premium Lustre paper (photoshop is managing the colours through CS5, but it is printing the image at least 1,5 the size that it should be. All my settings are correct, dpi is 300, I'm printing at 1440dpi resolution on the correct profiles for the paper. I am at a loss to understand why this is happening. Is anyone able to assist me?
I can do the printing in preview and that is looking quite ok. But trough photoshop it is bad colors and wrong size on the print.

I'm having problems getting good prints when using Photoshop CS5 with my Epson Photo R2880 printer, problems I never had with CS4. Here's the situation:
If I take a PSD file and print it using CS4, everything works out perfectly. But if I take that same PSD file and print it out using CS5, the print is now offset top to bottom, as well as left to right, along with a 1/8" black strip being printed down the right edge of the paper. As far as I can tell, everything is set the same.
I've compared all the print information found in the Print dialog summary box between CS4 and CS5 and everything appears to be the same. I've verified that I'm using the latest print driver with my printer, and I am. It's 8.27. I've verified that I've checked off the box to center the print to the paper, each time I've made a print. And in trying to figure out what's going on, I've discovered that this problem occurs with any paper size when using CS5, but not with CS4.
I'm stumped and frustrated and without any more ideas as to what I should do next, except to always print my projects using CS4. If anyone has an idea for me, please let me know!
I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions for you. The colors I'm getting in my prints from CS5 seem to be alright, but not the positioning on paper. It keeps offsetting and running a black stripe down one side. Fortunately I have CS4 on my computer that I can use to print from, but it shouldn't be this way.

GRAPHIC CARDS AND 10.6.4 PROBLEMS - MAKES CS5 CRASHING!
Photoshop CS5 has crashed on me several times today and *my screen becoming extremely distorted and flickering very fast, locking up the Mac and not responding at all*, leaving me to reboot.
I tried PS CS5 in 32-Bit mode, and it is still crashing.
+That crash just started appearing with the delivery of MacOS 10.6.4+. (Acobe engineers found unknown crashes moving up the statistics and had engineers looking at them) It is related to OpenGL, and probably to a driver update delivered with 10.6.4.
Adobe has found no problems with CS5 and this is a problem related to Apples 10.6.4

KimA business that is using the latest OS, would also be taking risks, and would have been prudent and conservative, having multiple bootable backups to work with, and realize these things happen.
Other than a brand new Mac that doesn't work with Leopard I can see having to have 10.6.3.
As to how long since release to move production up from CS4 to CS5? well, people really detest the IT-minded for their "test, retest, and don't deploy until the testing is done" approach.
I assume "graphic cards" and you have a Mac Pro 2009 w/ ATI 4870 or GTX 285, but your post was scant on that, and it is really helpful to have a more complete .sig with hardware profile to see.
There is a patch from Nvidia for GTX 285. You should be able to roll-back to 10.6.3. -

I've transferred all my sites to cs5 (from cs4). I build all my sites with DW templates. When I bring up my pages from any site in DW cs4, I can edit them no problem. When I bring them up in cs5, all of a sudden I have the "no-edit" symbol (red circle crossed) when I try to type over any editable areas. Is there a setting that I am missing that I forgot to readjust when I loaded the files in cs5?

I usually create editable regions with content alone (minus divs). It seems that cs5 won't allow this somehow. I do this so that my clients won't move the div and can highlight the text that they want to change without screwing up the placement of the divs or having to click on it several times in Contribute in order to highlight the text.

Problem Processing HDR Pro in CS5
When selecting my photos for HDR processing from Bridge, by going to tools, Photoshop, Merge to HDR Pro and making my adjustments there, everything seems normal. When I click on "OK" and waiting, the photo comes up in PhotoShop as a completely black image. The "background" layer is of course also black, but when the layer first appears there is a quick glimpse of the photo before going black. There is a slider at the very bottom left hand corner of PhotoShop that is set about 1/3rd or a little more from the left . Just to the right of the slider is an arrow and when clicked, it says "32 bit exposure", which is checked, along with other selections. Upon moving the slider to the right, the photo gradually appears in photoshop, but the layer still stays completely black. Upon adjusting the slider to get the correct exposure and then trying to "save as" the image, I only have a few choices instead of the normal large selection. TIFF is one selection, but JPEG is not. Upon Saving as a 16 bit TIFF, I do not have the option to open the file in Camera Raw.
In Scott Kelby's Photoshop CS5 book, in the HDR chapter it shows a screen-shot of PS and the photo after clicking the OK button. In the screen shot, there is no slider in the very bottom left of PS, but it states "exposure works in 32 bit only" in the same area of where my slider is located.
This process was working correctly originally, but started acting this way about 2 or 3 weeks ago. My thinking is that I have changed a setting somewhere that is causing this problem, but I can't seem to locate where. Would anyone out there have a solution to this very frustrating problem? In that case you've told MergeToHDR to go to 8 or 16 bit and are not creating an HDR image.
Then you won't have the exposure slider or any choice of whitepoint.
You only get the whitepoint choice when creating an HDR image (32 bit/channel).
You might want to spend some time reading the manual about how MergeToHDR works.
Merge to HDR. Mine says Merge to HDR Pro....would that make a difference somehow?

Using CS5 with XP Pro and have been experiencing problems with HDR crashing. Which seems to have been a recurring theme here. I found a "work around" in the forum which works for me when I use 3 images, but I am finding that if I try to produce an HDR image by manually setting the ev numbers using one shot image I end up with a black screen. Does anyone have any idea what I may be doing wrong?

Then I run the DesignStandard_CS5_5_LS4.exe but it finished by :

All of this is ok, I do installation wiith local administrator user, and the PC is a Win7 computer ... so I don't know why installation isn't running correctly...

Can't open a dng or raw file in cs5, just stops working. So many problems in cs5!
I totally feel for you. Just upgraded from cs4 to cs5 and it was the biggest mistake i ever made. It will probably end my livelihood as a photographer since EVERY time i open a raw file it crashes photoshop, makes it freeze up after i have adjuted the file in camera raw then I hit open; i get a few bars then it just stops working.
Even got tech help, which helped when i was on the phone with them. The next day the problem came back even when I danced the same jig that I did when I had the guy on the phone - he had me move a raw file on to the desktop rather than take open from my hard drive, then I was able to open it, so we came to the conclusion that my drive was corrupt. I had the same information backed up on a brand new hard drive so we compared files from the each drive against the other. The files from the new drive opened successfully. Yesterday. Now Photoshop cs5 doesn't open any raw or dng files at all from anywhere so it can only be a problem with photoshop. We thought we had the problem solved but we did not. This never happened on CS4 unless i was trying to open 30 or more raw files, and even then it gave me a warning that it had no more ram, it didn't just lock up and do nothing. I'm at my wit's end. Even though there are a lot of great new things in cs5, they aren't very useful if you can't use the product to do the simplest thing.1) Install the Photoshop 12.0.1 update
2) Install the latest ACR update.
If problems continue after that, then there probably is something wrong with your system. -
Product Registration Problem - Photoshop CS5

Some time ago I bought at one of the international sites aukyjnych Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended.
The program installed without a problem, the license key that I need to provide during the installation enter correctly, but when I wanted to register the program on the Adobe website receives message "enter the correct serial number."
Unfortunately, the answer from a local Support team already waiting more than two week, and I can not contact any other way.

Upgrade install problem Photoshop CS5 from CS2, MacOS 10.6.8

My wife was using Adobe Photoshop CS2 for a long time. We purchased a Photoshop CS5 upgrade in 2010 through Amazon, but she never installed it after reading about problems other people had with the upgrade. It was still in its shrink wrap seal until last night.
Then she recently went to upgrade her Mac laptop to 10.9 Mavericks from 10.6 Snow Leopard, and discovered that Photoshop CS2 will no longer work since CS2 was a PowerPC application. No problem - we thought we'd just finally install that CS5 upgrade first. The Amazon web page where we bought the product stated that this was a valid upgrade path, so we thought we would not have a problem. However, when we went to do the install, we received an "Inconsistency in the installer database" error.
Going to the support live chat, we were told by Yaseer that we could no longer upgrade from CS2 to CS5 because the CS2 "server" was shut down, and we should go to the forums for help with this instead.
Now what? We own a legal copy of PS CS2, and bought a legal upgrade copy of PS CS5 with the understanding that this was a legal upgrade path, purchased from a reputable dealer (Amazon), but now it doesn't work. There must be something that can be done here.

Problem with CS5 Photoshop Installer
I'm having trouble installing the latest CS5 photoshop. I work for a university that receives a licensed copy of the CS5 software that we then distribute to all the students. To make this possible we take the original installer, put it through the AAMEE to license it, put it in a disk image, put it up on our software server and students can then download it and install it through an application that we have written. The application works like this. The students launch the application, the application grabs the installers they select from a list and installs the ones selected. In order for the Adobe installers to work we have to take the installer, license it and put it in our own image. The problem comes with putting the licensed installed in a different disk image. After it's licensed it installs just fine, but when I put it in a disk image, mount the disk image and try to install it, the installation fails. I'm trying to figure out why the different disk image is causing it to fail, when it works in the original disk image.
