HDScan not showing up in diagnostic mode

I have a 160G Video iPod,since I cant sync more then 4gbs on it I'ev benn talled that I may having a bad sector on my ipod,so I ran it on diagnostic mode but I cant find HDscan under 'IO' section or any other section on the diagnostic mode menu.

*Check iPod hard-drive for errors*
Hold Select+Menu on the iPod for about 6 seconds until it resets, then hold Select+Play as soon as the Apple logo appears, again for about 6 seconds to put the machine in disk mode. Open iTunes and in the Sync tab of the preferences menu check *Disable automatic syncing of all iPhones & iPods*. Now connect your iPod to the computer, wait until it connects, then close iTunes. Browse *My Computer* and right-click on the drive for the iPod, click Properties, then click Tools. Under Error-checking, click *Check Now*. Under Check disk options, select *Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors*. Click Start. Mac users should run *Disk Utility / Repair Disk* for the equivalent process.
This scan will take some time, or it may even lock up, but if it works it should be performing a write & read back check on every sector of the disc and thus should detect & remap the remaining bad sectors. Whether it completes or not comparing the before & after results should prove informative.

OBIEE : Newly created rpd file not showing in the online mode in Admin tool

I have recently installed OBIEE 10.1.3.4.2 and Oracle XE databse in a Windows XP (Professional version 2002 Service Pack 3) virtual machine on my Windows 7 machine.
1) I have create an rpd file in Admin tool (all three layers). But I can only load this rpd file in offline mode, not in online mode.
a)Saved the file sanjay1.rpd in c:\OracleBI\server\Repository directory
b)Updated the c:\OracleBI\server\config\NQSConfig.ini (commented out the existing Star entry and replaced it with Star = sanjay1.rpd, DEFAULT;),
c)Modified the C:\OracleBIData\web\config\instanceconfig.xml and made change to the CatalogPath entry (<CatalogPath>C:/OracleBIData/web/catalog/sanjay1</CatalogPath>)
d)Stopped and restarted OC4J, “Oracle BI Presentation Server” and “Oracle BI Server” services.
But I am still not able to load sanjay1.rpd in the Admin tool in the online mode. It is showing up only in the offline mode. What do I need to do load the file in the online mode.
2)The existing Start entry in NQSConfig.ini was Star = samplesales.rpd, DEFAULT before I updated it. But samplesales.rpd is not showing up in online mode either. When I am selecting File/Open/Online a popup is coming up with title "Open Online AnalyticsWeb" and prompting to enter Administrator password. I would like to know why samplesales.rpd was not showing up in online mode and where is AnalyticsWeb coming from.

Dear Muram,
Is did not work.
1)Wihile the servers were running I opened the rpd in offline mode. It displayed the message the file can only be opened in the Read-Only mode. I accepted the message, opened the file and clsoed it and exited from Admin tool. I stopped the 2 services “Oracle BI Presentation Server” and “Oracle BI Server” in that order, and restrated them in the reverse order. In the admin tool it is still showing in the offline mode only
2)I have as such no interest in AnalyticsWeb that is showing in the online mode. I did not create it, it must have been installed along with OBIEE. But I am curious where it is coming from. Because A)There is no rpd file for AnalyticsWeb in the Repository Directory B)Before I edited the NQSConfig.ini the default setting was samplesales.rpd. So AnalyticsWeb was never included in the NQSConfig.ini file C) samplesales.rpd was included in the NQSConfig.ini once, but it never showed up online.

I changed my browser fill and the update does not show in the preview mode

I changed my browser fill and the update does not show in the preview mode. I saved and restarted muse but the problem is still there. Any thing else I can do? Could it be something that changed in the file?

What did you put in the "browser fill" area, an image or a color? WIth gradient or with solid color? Also, does it show fine if you "Preview in Browser"?
Screenshots showing the Browser fill section (like this: http://screencast.com/t/RHqdVPP4) and the display in Preview mode would also be helpful.

Background color does not show in a design mode preview

Hi,
I installed Macromedia studio 8 a couple of days ago, and
started using Dreamweaver 8 with a "Missing Manual" book. I'm on
first chapter and following tutorial. It says to change a
background color to blue, and I did that. But this change was not
reflected in a design mode preview. I checked the code and it's
there. I viewed in an IE6, and it was there. My coworker installed
an evaluation version on his pc and it worked fine. I guess it's my
pc that has problem. I had IE7 and VS2005 on the pc when I
installed Macromedia 8. Due to help crash, I uninstalled IE7. It
did not solve the problem, so I uninstalled VS2005 and related
programs, and it did not solve the problem. I uninstalled and
reinstalled Dreamweaver 8 a couple of times, and it did not help.
Does anyone out there who have similar experiences, please share it
with me? I post this here before redo my pc. Thanks.

Not showing pics in Book mode

I started putting together a book and all the pics were showing up fine in the main book view. But I had an error and iPhoto quit unexpectedly. When i went back, the book was still there but nearly all the photos had low-res warnings in the top icon view and were replaced by exclamation point icons in the book view.
Is this normal for low-res pics to not show up at all when viewing the book? And some of these pics DON'T have a low-res warning and ALSO are replaced with the ! icon in my book.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are you able to view them in the edit mode in the main library? That unexpected quit of iPhoto has corrupted the database file, Library6.iPhoto. You can try to rebuild the library as follows: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all of the options. I'm not optimistic that it will work.
If the rebuild doesn't work you're best option is to start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from the old library as follows:
1 - move the old iPhoto Library folder to the desktop.
2 - launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed and, when asked, opt to create a new library.
3 - with the new library open drag the Originals folder from the old library on the Desktop into the open library window.
This will create a new library with the same rolls as in the old one. However, many of the rolls will have different dates which can be edited in the Info window at the bottom of the Source pane.
To help prevent this same problem in the future read the tip at the end of my signature.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Calendar not showing in stand-by mode

I got a problem with my calendar planning not showing up in active standby-mode. It's disappeared completely. I have deactivated and re-activated the calendar in my settings to no avail. All other options in active standby is working (even the calendar's todo entries), it's just the calendar planning that won't show up. Has anyone alse had this problem? Have I accidently deactivated the option in some other way? Is there another way to get this back other than settings -> programs in active stand by? Or perhaps the only way is to update the device software? (But somehow I don't think that'll help). Any help is greatly appreciated since I'm a bit lost without seeing my planning on the main screen.

You don't say what phone you are reffering to but try backing up important data such as Contacts, Calendar messages etc an then perfoma a hard reset by following these simple steps.
Turn the phone off
Hold down the green phone, key number 3 and the * key all at once whilst getting someone else to turn the phone back on.
Keep the keys in until the phone plays the startup sound, then restore your data and try again, if all else fails visit a Nokia service point.

Why are line graphics not showing up in Preview Mode when they show in Normal view mode?

I am using CS4, I've used InDesign for 4 years. I can not figure out why this is happening...
From the Tools panel, I am using the line and circle tools. Drawing lines (arrows) and circles on my document, with a stroke weight of 1. The lines are the top item on my page, the last thing I draw. I draw lines that would go over not only other graphics, but over text as well.
Problem is that they only show up in Normal view, not Preview view. Hence, I don't think they will show up on the final document.
I've used these tools often, and the lines not showing is a new problem. Can anyone shed some light on why this might be happening?

I looked and yes "nonprinting" was ticked in the Attributes panel. THANK YOU :-)

Managed Metadata Fields not showing up in preview mode

In our SharePoint 2013 Publishing page, managed metadata fields doesn't show in preview, they show up only in edit mode or after we publish page.
Is this bug?

According to your post, my understanding is that the managed metadata fields not display in preview.
I tried to reproduce the issue, the managed metadata fields worked well in my environment.
I create a publishing page, add a library web part which contained managed metadata columns.
Then click the preview option in the ribbon, the managed metadata columns worked well.
Did the issue occur in other publishing pages? You can create a new publishing page to check whether it works.
Did you use the compatibility mode or add the site into trusted sites?
You can use compatibility mode to check whether it works.
Open IE->Tools->Compatibility View Settings
You can also add the site into Trusted sites.
Open the IE->Internet Options->Security->Sites->add the site into the Websites, then check whether it works.
What's more, you can use other browsers to check whether it works, such as Firefox, Chrome.

Muse 2014.2.1.10 - place of svg - not showing right in design mode but correct in browser

Hi,
I am trying to place an svg file as a stand alone object and I am not seeing it correctly in design mode at muse. It seems to add a black stripe at the bottom of the svg covering a significant amount of the svg image. When preview at the chrome browser it seems fine and also by using the preview in browser of muse.
Any ideas?

It is weird and kinda frustrating but it appears to be working now (partly). I still can't see the image in Design view but they are now showing up in the browser.
I tested this using the following save settings in Illustrator (both worked this time, but when I tried originally both failed).
Only difference between the two is the Responsive option.

Not showing in iTunes / Safe Mode issues

Hi, sorry this is going to be long winded and confused!
My (clueless) father has bought a Shuffle in the short term to use as a flash drive to rescue files from his PC that is about to die. I'm not on the spot and am trying to provide phone support but I'm not too familiar with Windows XP and could do with some opinions.
Firstly, he plugged it into my brother's PC that is already running a Mini. The Shuffle showed up as a flash drive but not in iTunes. My brother probably hasn't updated any iPod software since May when he bought it. Do you think that a software update would show up the iPS in iTunes?
Secondly, the PC that he needs to rescue can only be run in safe mode. We tested out the Mini on another PC running in safe mode and it showed up as a drive so were were expecting that the Shuffle would. I assume that no software can be installed on the PC in this mode and apparently the Shuffle won't show up on the sick PC in any form. The sick PC has no iPod/iTunes software at all at the moment. any ideas?
Sorry for the complicated post. He's driving me insane on the phone...!

An update of the iPod software fixed the iTunes problem.
The Shuffle shows up in the 'safe mode with networking' option on Windows XP after getting it onto iTunes and enabling it as a disk

Ipod Camera Connector Issues. Photos not showing up in disk mode

I have a 60gig black iPod video and I successfully uploaded pictures via the photo connector from my Rebel XT.
The problem is, the first ten rolls show up fine, both in viewing on the iPod as well as in disk mode. Rolls 11-16 show up via the import photos screen on the iPod, and I can view the pictures, but there isn't even a folder for them in disk mode.
Any suggestions?

Shared documents not showing up in Caching mode?

We're running GW 7.0.2 here. I have a user that created a shared folder
and threw two documents into the folder. All users who can see the shared
folder has no problem seeing the documents when they're in online mode.
However, my users in Caching mode does not see the document, no matter how
they update their Cache via Send/Retrieve or Retrieve Entire Mailbox. I
even tried giving the users rights to the document and forced a
QuickFinder update and they still don't see it. Any ideas?

Well, I was able to get around the problem by forcing my Caching users
over to Online mode and then back. This fixes the problem. Which is weird.
However, I have one user that keeps getting the error:
Unable to open the document.
8503: The online groupwise system is no longer available. your document will be saved to your Cachine Mailbox and sent to your Online Mailbox the next time GroupWise connects to your Online GroupWise Sytem.
I looked up the information and I found this TID which seems to be what I

However, it says that I need to add a Proxy address and need to change the
Internet Proxy Client/Server port.
Supposedly, the proxy address is a server/machine that will redirect the
request from the Internet to the private network. The thing that confuses
me here is the fact that all the IP addresses I have specified on my POA
are public IP addresses that could access the Internet in the first place.
So I don't understand how changing the port or adding a proxy server
address will fix this problem. Any ideas?

Notes not showing up in presentation mode

I need help! I have figured out how to project a separate image to my projection screen and I can see the next slide coming up in my presentation. My problem now is that I have typed notes in the presentation for myself but they don't show up when I go to the actual presentation. On every slide I typed notes for there is just a blank area where the notes are supposed to be. How can I get the words to actually show up? As you can see from the photo the Notes area is blank, even though I typed in words to go there. Any ideas????

I have the same problem. The 'note' field in appraisals is missing for a user on the portal. The user had entered information in the text box but suddendly dissapear. That field is also missing in appraisal of previous years.

Urgent : Publishing Problem - Attributes not showing up in Layout Mode

Dear MDM Gurus,
We 4 fields in our main table i.e.
FLD1   (Taxonomy LKP -
> Standard Categories Table)
FLD2   (Taxonomy LKP)
FLD3   (Qualified LKP)
FLD4   (Taxonomy LKP)
Now we have uploaded the data structure/Hierarchy to FLD1.
FLD2,4 are Taxonomy lookups which store & link attributes for each of those fields.
When viewed thru record mode our data looks like this :
FLD1 : Hierarchy Node
   FLD1-ATTRIBUTE1 = ABCD
FLD2 : XYZ
FLD2-ATTR1 = A1
FLD2-ATTR2 = A2
FLD2-ATTR3 = A3
Which is how we want it to be.
Here the data is well organised based on the taxonomy Lookup fields in the main table
Now when we try to publish it,we dont see the attributes associated with FLD2 and 4 in the Layout mode.
I can only see the main table fields,Qualified Table Fields and the attributes associated with FLD1.
How to pull the data from the taxonomy lookup tables in Layout mode of Data Manager ?

Hello Hari,
Currently, the only attributes that you have access to in Publisher are the attributes linked to the taxonomy that you've designated to be your family field (in the console), which by default, is your main taxonomy table.
The only way to display fields linked to non-main tables is by designating them alternate display fields, which in your case doesn't sound like what you want.

Images in galleries not showing in full screen mode

I have a number of galleries in my ibook. Some of them work fine and the pictures open up in full screen when tapped/pinched. Other gallers dont allow me to view the pictures in full screen. I have created them all the same way as far as I know. Has anyone else had this problem and know how I can resolve it? thanks in advance.

If you believe the resources are similar but act differently, you might have some sort of corruption in one of them or in your book that is contributing to how that book displays on an iPad.
Try taking the wonky ones out, then saving and putting them back one at time to see if you can isolate the issue.
