HDSLR vs video camera

Question

Why I prefer not to shoot video on an HDSLR camera.
I have often expressed my feelings about this a bit harshly..."I hate shooting video on HDSLRs"...but I dont usually supply any reasons for it.
Today I was setting up to shoot a little locked off scene of myself playing guitar that my occasional guitar teacher  (and muso friend) requested ...and some one else wanted the audio files (SoundCloud).
Decision and planning time....so I opened a beer and had a think about it first.
Requirement : Camera , 2 microphones on the guitar amp and speaker cabinets. Available room lighting . (Simple)
Option 1 - GH2:
Camera on tripod. Line up a shot (Static)
Choose a scene setting for video by wading thru menus!
Set an exposure with a histogram!  Close enough...good enough ..I can see a picture.
Set 2 mics (SM57s) on mic stands by the speaker cabinets. (Guitar and stereo monitor speakers)
Run mic cables to field Mixer (xlr to xlr)
Set field mixer levels (L and R balance  and audio in levels plus mic level -36dbu each mic)
Run cable from Field mixer to camera (Xlr to 2.5mm mini stereo jack !)
Menu system on camera. Wade thru to find input audio settings. (Choice of 3 ! wtf!)
Test each of the various audio input choices! record and playback. ( It was 2 this time ..1 last time I did it !...must be playing louder) Close enough...good enough ..I can hear it.
Option 2 - AF102 Panasonic production video camera:
Camera on head and legs. Mount lens. Line up a shot (Static)
Choose a scene setting for video by dialing in the preset. Easy
Set an exposure with a waveform monitor. Easy. Perfect with a bit of low fill light a sheet of white bounce.
Set 2 mics (SM57s) on mic stands by the speaker cabinets. (Guitar and stereo monitor speakers)
Run mic cables to 2 camera inputs (xlr to xlr)
Set  Input audio levels on camera db meter .  No trial and error or  need to test.
Think I will go with Option 2...when I finish my beer.

Yea, maybe playing guitar is better ... if it didn't get so frustrating when I hit something where I'm trying to figure out what I used to do ...
I've got a little jazz-chord piece I wrote a couple years back I'm still trying to get "down" as far as playing it. Maybe one day I'll post that ... no copyright fears there. Ah well.
I have taken several years of voice lessons recently. Strange process. Not learning to be like something, but to stop doing things other than "native" sounds outta your bod, which is actually what classical singing is about. Backwards of what you think. Hours and hours of work to learn to let go and to find little bits of un-needed muscle action/tension and just stop doing that. I'm a tenor ... and rather a loud one always. So ... good teacher, was a pro singer herself down in the Bay area and US westcoast, hubby long-time character tenor. Turned out ... this dang thing in my throat is a massive but dark ("dramatic") tenor, totally unsuited for shall we say light normal-people stuff. Last thing I wanted to find at this stage in life. After we got all the crap out of the technique other people'd had me do ... yea, that's what it is. Useless for me. Big, hard to "massage" through a piece in a pretty way ... and with 40 years of bad training and habits to try and completely ignore. Right. Yea, guitar is better even with its frustrations. Least I can turn down the amp or play without one.
Hey ... any of you what know Speedgrade ... there's a guy on the Sg forum that says he's still using Sg CC native rather than DL as it takes way too long for his 22min long Prores422 HQ 1080 25P file to arrive over in Sg. Anybody ... like say shooter ... wanna give him a query?

His current complaint is that Sg (native) crashes when he tries separate clips through running scene-detect. Outta my depth ...
