Cloudroom error when trying to import a video that causes Premiere to crash
I'm getting this cloudroom error when trying to import a video that causes Premiere to crash
Hi K Hayes,
Kyle Hayes wrote:
I'm getting this cloudroom error when trying to import a video that causes Premiere to crash...
It is difficult to see the entire message of the warning dialog box, but I suspect it is the following: c:\cloudroom\releases\2014.09\shared\adobe\mediacore\mediafoundation\api\inc\Keyframe/Key frame.h-146
If so, see this post by one of our engineers: Re: Premiere pro cc 2014.2 crashes when opening a project
Removing any imported or third party presets might help the issue.
I'm really sorry for this issue. We are currently investigating the cause.
Thanks,

Can't Preview HDV Capture In Premiere Pro CS6
I can't preview my HDV footage in Premiere Pro CS6.
I know I'm not supposed to be able to see anything in the Capture Window when I'm actually capturing HDV, but it says I should be able to see my footage when I am just previewing in the Capture Window.

GTX 470
Corsair AT 850 Watt PSU
Thanks!Thanks Ann!
I just figured it out.
I'm using 2 monitors in extended mode.
One is a VGA flat panel and the other is a DVI flat panel.
I had the Capture Window open on my VGA monitor.
When I moved the Capture Window to my DVI monitor, I got a preview picture.
It's funny, when I move the Capture Window from the DVI to the VGA while playing, playing stops.
And when I move it bak to the DVI, it continues to play.
Maybe because the VGA isn't digital?
Both monitos are hooked up to my GTX 470 GPU, so it seems wierd.
Any feedback on this would be welcomed.
Thanks again! -
GoPro Cineform files cause Premiere to crash during Media Export
I first noticed this problem when using a project that had been copied and transcoded with GoPro codec as demonstrated in Dave Henly's helpful video. The codec is indeed beautiful.
However, 50% to 80% of the time when trying to export a project where there are GoPro files on the timeline, it'll get about halfway through the export before Premiere (or Media Encoder) simply freezes up.
I didn't know what was causing this problem until I was using one large GoPro-exported video as the new base layer for a project that had otherwise been working perfectly prior to that (using Canon 60D-created .mov files). Now it was crashing during every export. On a hunch, I re-exported that base layer as an h264 file and replaced the GoPro video on the timeline, and now the project exports out just fine.
Is this happening to anyone else? I'm using just the standard 8bit GoPro preset whenever I export out or transcode clips.
I'm using Premiere Pro CC, whatever the up-to-date version number is right now.
Windows 8.

The new feature rendering a ae comp inside premiere timeline is perfect, but using gopro cineform codec crashes premiere on export. -
Changing clip speed causes Premiere to crash?
Hi, I'm making a video series and I have a problem. Everytime I change the speed of at least two clips in my timeline, sooner or later a message will come up saying "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
I have looked up the problem online and found another person who had my problem (He was on Premiere CS3). He says he was absolutely sure that the problem was caused by changing the clip speed.
Can anyone help me with this?I suspect the issue is due to your video format... what format are your videos? Your problem will be solved by converting them to DV-AVI. See this FAQ on conversion:

I have an hp laptop with 16gb ram and an Intel Core7 processor. Any help on how to fix this would be great. I have tried to switch both the Mercury software and Open GL options. Both still get the same results. Also tried many different forms of media to edite...jpgs..clips with and with out audio. Just greay outs and gives the pop up that it is not working and closes down.
Do you have dual graphics adapters?
Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Device Manager... In Device manager you click the + sign to the left of Display Adapters... and see if 2 are listed
IF YES, read below

The new Import Sequence feature causes Premiere Pro CC to CRASH!
*** This was happening before the update, and the update to 7.01 has not fixed this issue.***
I have a series of intros and end slates for a YouTube series. I (kind of) love the new Import Sequence from Project feature, new in PPr CC. But more often than not, trying to import a sequence from another project using the Media Browser causes Premiere to crash. Can anyone else report whether this is NOT working for you, too. I can imagine scenarios where you either don't use this feature, or haven't gotten around to it since the launch of CC.
Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to test and verify whether this is a bug.
Win7 64-bit
ASUS g75vx Laptop
i7-3630qm
NVIDIA GTX-670mx, 3GB GDDR5
16GB RAMWell, certainly one of my sequences (let's call it "A") always causes a crash. Sequence B was NOT causing a crash last week. Today sequence B started crashing (in 7.0). So I updated to 7.01 and tried again. Still crashing (always, now). So I set out to create a new sequence C.
To create sequence C, I opened a successfully completed project from last week. I Saved As... "New Opening Sequences". Next, I cut away every sequence except for the sequence that holds the intro. I did a Project > Remove Unused to get rid of all the footage, titles, etc. Now I had a project that only contained Sequence C and it's linked media. Nothing is offline. Everything is in tact.
Finally, I open the project I need to finish today. I need to add the bumper to the front of the video. So I navigate within the Media Browser to find the "New Opening Sequences" project. I double click. I get the yellow, dynamic link-like loading bar. When the project media, bins and sequences appear, I double-click the sequence I want to impor.... KKKKKEHEHHE!!! Crash.
I'll restart to get you the exact error message...
WOW!!! I just left this window open to go get the exact error message for you. I went through the same steps above. It worked this time. So to answer your question, Sequence C is also hit or miss. This is the first successful attempt today (about 10 previous tries, restarts, etc).
Definitely seems like a bug. Can anyone else reproduce this crash?
P.S. - Perhaps it's significant, perhaps not: In all cases, A, B and C, these sequences have Dynamic Linked footage from After Effects (animations). While they do have some live-action, they are primarily AE animations. This may help you reproduce the crash.
I'm also not running anything unusual. Mainly the OS, a browser, Webroot SecureAnywhere (Anti-virus), Premiere. -
Canon XF Import Causes Premiere CS6 to Crash. Help!
I purchased a Canon XF300 to work specifically with Premiere CS6 as Adobe claims native support for MXF files.
Unfortunately, whenever I import footage from the XF300 into Premiere, it causes Premiere to crash.
This happens no matter what method I use to import the files... using XF Ultility, using Prelude, clicking on import in the Premiere CS6 media browser, opening the files in the media browser and dragging and dropping into a bin. It doesn't matter. The crash still happens.
This is not an issue with spanned clips as it happens even without spanned clips.
After importing the clips into a bin, the bin has trouble drawing thumbnails for all the clips, usually but not always the ones not initially visible in the bin window. The thumbnails don't appear, just gray boxes. Scrolling down and clicking on the gray boxes, even after waiting several minutes for the system to "catch up," causes a crash.
This is a repeatable problem that *only* happens when using Canon MXF footage. Every other codec I've tried works just fine. The Canon footage never works.
I am on a Mid-2012 Mac Pro 2x 3.06 GHz 6-Core Inten Xeon computer running 64GB of Ram on OSX 10.8.3, using Premiere 6.0.2 Creative Cloud. I use a Matrox MX02 for I/O and a NVIDIA Quadro 4000 with CUDA Driver 5.0.59.
I've troubleshot this problem to death, stripping everything from the machine down to its original factory state (no extra RAM, no NVIDIA card, no Matrox I/O etc.) and the system still crashes every single time I try to import the MXF footage, no matter what method I use. The only workaround is to transcode to ProRes and that's not acceptable.
Am I the only one having this issue? Is there something glaringly obvious I'm overlooking? Thanks in advance for any assistance or perspective. I am growing increasingly frustrated as I feel Adobe has a software problem here they're not addressing. That's the thing. The system drive has plenty of space... 762Gb out of 1TB available. All the HDs have a ton of space on them. This has happened since Day 1 when the entire system was brand new.
And only with Canon XF files. No other codec produces behavior even remotely similar on my system. It's baffling because everyhting is up to spec as far as I can determine and yet the problem persists.
Limiting the number of clips in a bin is unworkable because of the type of work I'm doing. Transcoding is the only answer at this point but I really would like to know what's causing this.
I really wish Adobe could try to recreate the problem. Does anyone else out there using Mac OSX and CS6 have trouble with XF files? Is it a known issue? -
MSVCR80.dll error - help!!! (Premiere cs3 crashes!)
Hi,
I searched all the internet regarding this problem, found alot of threads concerning it, but none really helped me...
Yesterday I installed TINDERBOX of Foundry co. effects. some plugin of after effects.
Since then, whenever I open my premiere cs3 on the project I was working on, it crashes immidiately! I can't do anything. ( if i open a blank one, it seems fine. but i didn't use the tinderbox effect on the project which is crashing...)
I have vista64, and it pops this window saying:

Now, the funny thing is I searched all my MSVCR80.dll files and found many, all under adobe folders. neither had the version : 8.0.50727.1434. All had 8.0.50727.42!
I searched all my computer for the 8.0.50727.1434 version but nothing!
I unistalled the tinderbox effects - didn't help..
I remember that during my installation of tinderbox it poped up this window error about MS visual C++ library, and I read somewhere that this library may cause premiere to crash, so I uninstalled the library Tinderbox had installed, but nothing...
I tried to installed a new verion of C++ library for 64bit - nothing...
So now I can't open my project... it's a disaster!!!
What can I do?
Help!!!
Roy>I tried to installed a new verion of C++ library for 64bit
PPro is a 32-bit application. I'm not sure how you expect it to use a 64-bit library.
Go back to a 32-bit operating system where you
know PPro will work properly.
Cheers

Forum FAQ -
There have been a few posts on this already, but no one seems to have the solution,
Trying to capture HDV footage from premiere, but soon as tape starts "serious error" comes up and premiere crashes.
This has only become a problem today, ive captured with the exact same settings, camera, and cables before, and im about to try with a new DV tape as well, though atm still no luck
The only thing that has changed since then has been then has been premieres recent update. Not sure how to uninstall it though
Using final cut pro atm to capture and exporting it out, which is working just fine, so it seems to be an issue with premiere, not hardware. If you think the update is the cause of the crash and you want to roll back?
Deinstall Premiere.
Install Premiere 6.0
Then update manually to 6.03.

Premiere Pro CS6 - Warp Stabilizer BUG causes project to crash
Hi!
Sometimes Warp Stabilizer causes Premiere CS6 to crash. I found out what steps cause this so hopefully a fix can be made in an update soon:
1) Add the WARP STABILIZER to a clip. It Analyzes and then is applied to the clip.
2) TOGGLE OFF the effect in the effect controls window
3) Adjust the clip duration and RE-ANALYZE while the effect is TOGGLED OFF still and Premiere crashes.
Happens every time. BUG Report was filled out.
(If the effect is toggled ON when you RE-ANALYZE it, everything works okay.)
So why not just not do this? Well, I usually don't but sometimes in the middle of working with hundred of clips I toggle on/off the effect to check certain things and then leave it off. If the clip is adjusted later or I come back and try to click ANALYZE again while the effect is toggled off, everything crashes.
That's the pop up. If Premiere doesn't allow for you to re-analyze a clip while the effect is toggled off, then the ANALYZE button should not be active or at least a popup saying "Cannot Analyze this clip while it is toggled off". Instead Premiere crashes and upon reopening the project you are forced to rename the project which fortunately is usually fully recovered.
Running 6.0.2 on a suped up 2011 27" iMac with 16gb ram and AMD 6970M 2gb video card.I know I'm piggy-backing on an old post here, but I've just had real issues with a similar thing on Mac. Unfortunately, my Premiere CS6 is crashing and becoming totally unresponsive whenever I simply apply the Warp Stabilizer. The moment I drop it on my clip, BLAM! I get that same pop up you posted. I click 'OK,' and then nothing. Just beachbal of death until I force quit. What's more annoying is that, not only has the camera operator made the stabilizer essential, but I've been using it for the past week with no issues up till now.
At first I thought I was overloading Premiere by dropping the effect onto two clips at the same time. But I tried it one at a time and had the same problem. My recovery project files seem to be ok, but that's not even nearly the point. I simply can not use a great and essential tool. Help? -
Are there benefits to the Blackmagic Intensity Pro for HDV capture ?
Are there benefits to the Blackmagic Intensity Pro for HDV capture ?
I have a Sony HDR-FX1 that records in HDV 1440 x 1080
I have already captured the footage to miniDV tape.
Can the intensity card get the full 1920 x 1080 video ?
I now use Premiere to capture my video and my HDV is in mpeg2 and my SD is in DV type 2 AVI
What format does the intensity card capture at ?
Are there other ways to capture that would make the footage better.
From what I have read allot of people have had problems with these cards.
Im just looking for the best way to get the footage off my camera with the best resolution.
Thanks: GlennGlenn,
I have posted this before in the PC Buying Guide (post #23 and later), but have a look at this diagram:
The problem is that once recorded to tape, the material is compressed to MPEG and there is no way to get the data back, that were lost during compression. The only thing you achieve is that you lose device control, lose all timecode information, lose all metadata like date and timestamp and exposure data and lose the capability of scene detection. There are no gains to compensate the losses.
Compare it to a glass of orange juice, that was made by heavily compressing oranges. How do you think you can reconstruct the original oranges that the juice came from? Were there 4 large oranges or 6 small ones or a mixture? Were they light colored or were they dark or a mixture of light and dark?
BlackMagic in their marketing may lead you to believe otherwise, but the truth is they can only guess at how many oranges were used, their size and color. It is nothing more than a guess. -
Adobe Premiere Pro crashes on video preview
Hello,
I was recently working on a project and had Premiere Pro opened, then I had to update my video card drivers, because I had all sort of visual glitches in my games, occasionally when watching movies and the drivers were completely crashing every now and then. At some point during the update my screen went all azure-colored and my computer was completely non-responsive, so I had to restart it, after some waiting. After which the drivers appear to have been installed correctly but when I tried to start Premiere it crashed after loading my project. After a reinstall the same thing kept on occurring, it turned out premiere can start by itself with no problems and even import video files, but the moment I put the video file on the preview window, either by dragging it or by putting it in the timeline, Premiere crashes.
My stupid video card is "SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 270X 2G G5", like I said I updated the drivers, because it was causing problems, it is still uncertain if the update fixed those issues, but now I have a problem with Premiere, which was working fine before that.
I also cleared the media caches, no effect. The crash occurs with any video file, not just with my last project.
Any ideas? Will do, however in the meantime I found out Premiere works fine if in a new project I set the rendering to be only software, without the GPU, also in all cases audio import, preview and playback are unaffected.
I was sort of hoping I could play games AND rend video, what are the chances of that? -
Adobe premiere cc crashes during work on mac
I have iMac with system up to date, my Adoebe Premiere CC crashes every 10 minutes when working on the project. Any ideas?

Usually, it's this: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later). It's caused by some methods of updating OS X.
BTW, most people are operating 8.1 with no issues, myself included.
A majority of the issues people are having are updating complex project files from 8.0.1 to 8.1. Please don't update project files or your OS when in the middle of a project. This rule of thumb is very important to safeguarding your project file.
If you must go back to the previous version, please check out my blog post here: Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application

M2T vs. MPG for HDV Capture?
Hello All,
What is a better option to capture HDV video via firewire?
1) Capture through Premiere CS3 into an MPG file?
2) Capture through Adobe On-Location into M2T files?
Are they essentially the same? Is there different compression? Are there compatability issues?
Background:
I have to capture about 25 hours of HDV video from a JVC HD100 in 720P30 format. I will have to share this footage with a couple of different people (sponsors, event organizers, etc).
For compatability, I have already decided to capture via firewire instead of through my HDMI or analog component capture card. I know that codec is rare and fairly cpu intensive.
I am just curious if M2T or MPG is preferable on a whole.
ChrisThe file structure is actually the same. I don't know why some programs capture as M2T and then Adobe came after and captures as MPG. (On Location was purchased, not designed by Adobe).
They are the same and are interchangeable in Premiere Pro.
