Hdv export wrong format on a .mov file.

i've set up a hdv project and both the easy setup and sequense settings says : hcv 1080i50 1440x1080. But when I export using quicktime conversion with any codec and setup(allmost) I get a.mov file with a streched format.
why is that I ask.

  • Export current format - JPG and MOV files

When exporting jpg and mov files in "current format" the mov files will be exported with only 1 second (ca 130kb).
If I export in "original format" it exports the mov files as they are, but the pictures are "original" and not show the last version.
    Any idea?

If you dleted them you'll need to use a file recovery application like File Salvage

  • Best Settings for Exporting DVD Footage in a Movie File

    Hello,
I've been trying to find the best settings for exporting DVD footage into a movie file from Adobe Premiere CS6.
I recently have been using my Magnavox DVD recorder for recording VHS tapes that I made long ago for shows and various other things, and no matter what, my footage doesn't come out as it needs to be.
Here's an example of what I did recently with my own settings:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFV4sT7rHGs
I'm not expecting HD footage, I know these are tapes, but I'm playing the raw footage on my Xbox 360, and it looks better than this. I had to directly use the VOB files on the DVD for this, as trying to rip the files into an AVI or any other format with a DVD ripper didn't do anything, in fact it degraded the quality and made the audio not play in Premiere.
So what would be some good settings for exporting a sequence with DVD footage that is from a VHS into a movie file, preferably one that wouldn't degrade the quality?
    Thanks!

First, read Why not edit mpeg http://tangentsoft.net/video/mpeg/edit.html to get a general idea of why a VOB makes a very poor source file (which is a renamed MPG, with some other stuff like menu screens)
Also, Read Bill Hunt on editing a VOB/MPG file http://forums.adobe.com/thread/464549
Once you have a DVD compliant VOB on your timeline, and understanding that a standalone DVD recorder sometimes plays fast-n-loose with "compliance" per the DVD specification, about all you can do is export to standard or widescreen DV AVI and accept the fact that re-encoding an already compressed file is just not going to give great results

  • Video format not supported .mov file

I exported a slideshow from iphoto to quicktime with the following settings:
    1) Export: Custom Export: Movie to Quicktime
    Kind: Quicktime movie file Channels:stereo
size: 200.2 MB Total Bit Rate: 8268 kbps
Bit Rate: 1378 bps Video Dimensions: 1280x720
    Video Codec: H.264
It exports to iTunes, but does not sync to the ipad (video format not supported)
What is the best setting so I can get the highest quality?

In looking at the videos that I have, all of which work on my iPad, the ones which I purchased through the iTunes Store are Low Complexity with bit rates of 128 kbps. The ones that I converted by HandBrake for iOS devices are Low Complexity and 159 kbps. All of them are around 850 x 480, H.264.

  • Convert file via Export not available on certain MOV files on QT Pro

    Hello~
I have QT Pro v7.2 and noticed that the Export utility is grayed out on some MOV files but I cannot figure out why.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Some files contain DRM protection (iTunes purchased files) that prevent export.
It is also possible to change internal flags on a QuickTime file to prevent editing or exporting.

  • Exporting Segments as individual QuickTime.mov files

I just did a DV Stop/Start Detect on a DV tape, dropped all the segments on a timeline and would now like to re-export these as individual clips using media manager.
How do I go about this?

You can do it at the finder level, using Automator:

  • Exporting .mov file from CS5.5 Premier Pro for playing through QuickTime Player

    Dear All,
I would most appreciate any assistance on a problem that I am experiencing with a current project.
I have a HD1080i50 project which I have completed editing. The work consists of two video tracks on top of a black video track that presents two identically sized images side by side that run con-currently. To achieve this presentation I have solely reduced the scale of the clips to 44% and then positioned them side by side. After rendering, within Premier, the playback is exactly as I want it and the imagery is sharp and clear. The problems occur when I either try to export the project as a mov. file (to play using Quicktime), or when I export to Encore and produce a DVD. In both cases, the audio is fine but the imagery is slightly blurred.
In the first instance, would someone be kind enough to recommend the optimum export codecs to creat a .mov file for playing through QuickTime?
To date, with earlier projects, I have not experienced this problem. I am obviously doing something wrong in the export settings process and would appreciate it greatly if anyone can advise. Should more info on the project be required to respond, I am happy to provide it.
    With thanks in advance.

In the first instance, would someone be kind enough to recommend the optimum export codecs to creat a .mov file for playing through QuickTime?
Sure, but we need to know what you intend to do with the file. Is it for distribution? Archiving? Watching on a computer, or watching on the web? Do you absolutely need to have a QuickTime MOV? There are many variables, not the least of which concerns the exact specifications of your sequence and the footage you're using in the sequence.
To make a better recommendation, some more information is needed.

  • Why won't .MOV files export from Lightroom?

Why won't .MOV files export from Lightroom?

    The will.
Or at least they can, and do, sometimes, if you have good MOV karma..
Why not supply a little more info, like:
    * Which OS
    * Which version of Lightroom
    * History of MOV files.
    * Export format.
    * Do other video types export OK
    * How many different MOV files have you tried - all with the same history?
    and of course:
    * What, exactly, happens, when you try?

  • Can't export 25 minute .MOV file to .AVI

I am trying to export a 25 minute QuickTime .MOV file to a .AVI file and am having major problems.
The .AVI file I get is about 5.21GB but only contains the first 5 minutes of the video.
I have tried exporting directly from Final Cut Pro and from within QuickTime Pro (both Mac and Windows versions) with the same results. I have even tried using programs such MPEGStreamClip with no luck.
    My export settings:
    VIDEO
    Compression: DV/DVCPRO - NTSC
    Quality: Best
    Frame Rate: 29.97
    Scan Mode: Interlaced
    Aspect Ratio: 4:3
    SOUND
    Format: Uncompressed
    Sample Rate: 48kHz
    Sample size: 16
    Channels: 2
Is there anything I can do to fix this? I need the .AVI and this is a major hassle.
    Thanks.
    Brian McKechnie

I use the Export > Movie to AVI and then select the settings mentioned.
Going straight from the Final Cut Pro timeline does not work.
Exporting as a QuickTime movie from FCP and then trying to export the AVI from within QuickTime does not work either.
Settings for the QuickTime file that FCP exports:
    DV
    720 x 480 (640 x 480)
    16-bit integer (Big Endian)
    Stereo
    48.000kHz
    29.97FPS
It seems that this only happens on files that are longer then 18 mins. I need the AVI in order to convert the file to WMV in Windows Media Encoder as Flip4Mac Studio Pro HD 2.0.2 exports files with green blotches all over it.

  • Exporting .Mov files at 24fps for Final Cut Pro 5

I work at an animation production house and we're trying to export .mov files from QT 7.1.2 at 24fps so they won't have to be rendered in a FCP project which is a 720p project with a frame size of 1280x720, we're experimenting with two codecs. We're using Motion Jpeg A and Photo Jpeg, selecting 24fps but for some reason they import into FCP 5 at 10fps. It's as though QT isn't outputting accurate 24fps .mov files. When I export .mov files from FCP they import back into FCP without having to be rendered. What's the difference between the ones exported from QT vs. the .mov files exported from FCP. We're using the exact same settings and files....? The reason we need to use QT to do this is because it needs to be a somewhat automated process (lots of stills to work with) and our PA's are working on Windows with QT only.

You should post your inquiry at Final Cut Pro section for better support. Anyway, Final Cut Pro does not always recognize the frame rate correctly, depending on which application (and possibly which codec) you used to compress video. For example, Snapz Pro X and Adobe After Effects don't get along with Final Cut Pro in this respect. Furthermore, compressing video in H.264 will be a bad idea. So simply adjust the size of Canvas so that it won't cover the whole screen. In this way, you can even replay video on Canvas and even send it for final production.

  • LR 5.2 Export .mov file not performed

I am having issues with exporting photos along with a mov file. I am assuming that you can export photos along with video can you not?
I have tried and everytime when I do an export I get these messages that say "some export operations were not performed" ??
Since video is now becoming part of a wedding package I would like to export it all at once?

I have lets say 100 files, 2 of these are *mov files from a Canon 5D MKIII and the other 98 are raw files, when I go to export only the 98 raw files are exported not the 2 *mov files as I get these messages saying the export did not include these 2 files but  selected the video files in the export dialog box and left them as is but no luck.

  • Export Flash to .mov file

I work with Flash CS5.5 on a MacPro with OS 10.7.5 with a 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon processor and 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 memory with an ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB graphics card. When I export my Flash to a .mov file the results are cluttered with artifacts of previous frames over the current video. What causes this? And are there preferences or settings to correct it?

Hmmm I would say as an image sequence would be best. The only programs that support swf files are After Effects and the Adobe Media Encoder which actually works nicely to convery from one file to another. I got it with my Flash CC download so you might try that.

  • Compressing Finalcut .mov file???

    Hi guys,
I need some help! Is what I'm trying to do even possible?
I can't export my FCP sequence using quicktime conversion (it keeps shutting down), so I exported it as a finalcut mov file. I then thought that perhaps I could use compressor to convert it to a high quality format that's compatible in iDVD. Any suggestions on what format I should use?
I've tried HDV 1080i50 and H.264 for HD DVD. Both worked, but when you view the file all you see is a white screen whilst the audio works perfectly. Why is this?
I also converted it to a "quicktime movie" which worked (I could see and hear it), but the file size and quality is so low that I can't use it on a DVD. Plus it's interlaced.
I've been trying to find a solution in Visual Hub as well but not having much luck. I keep getting the white screen.
Any ideas? Any help will be most appreciated!
    Chelsey

I've tried mov, mp4, mpeg2, avi, vob, dv
Nothing works. And usually I can watch dv, mov, and avi files at least fine.
Any other formats I should try?

  • Cannot open my old mov. files with new imovies 10.0.3

I went to open a .mov file I wanted to re-edit and only Quicktime was given as an option.  I've tried to create a new event with the new imovies and that isn't happening either.  How to do either of these simple things would be appreciated.

The new iMovie is only going to accept certain formats and codecs. You should re-export or re-save  your movie files from QuickTime to a new format. You may notice a "(converted)" in the title bar of some of your movies as they are opened in QT. QT is now converting movies into more "acceptable" codecs as it loads them into memory.
After export, they should be acceptable in iMovie.

  • .MOV file

hi, I made a movie using iMovie which was saved as a quicktime .MOV file. I want to put it on Youtube, but every time i try to upload it it says it was "an empty .MOV file" Do i need to use a different file or convert this one to something else? If so, how?
    thanks, Travis

Do i need to use a different file or convert this one to something else? If so, how?
The normal approach is to export the project directly to YouTube using the "Share" menu option. If you plan to export the project to an MOV file container, then you will have to be more specific regarding your source and export compression formats in order to comment on either possible causes of an "empty MOV" file or make recommendations regarding changes to any compression format. It may also be helpful to know what your file looks like when played locally on the QT player, as well, as the duration of your project.
