Head-Up Display Greatly Simplifies Navigation - CRM On Demand 17 Release

I'm an admin of CRM On Demand.
I'd like to apply new features of CoD 17 Release.
In particular, I want to use Head-Up Display in detail page of each objects.
I mean, How can I apply Head-Up Display function as admin ?
Please let me know how can I set up the feature.

Go to Admin, then Company Administration, then Company Profile and under Company Setting select Head-up Display to On.

Page Header Not Displaying at Top of Page

We have a number of reports that include navigation links in the page header. The links use the Bookmarks Action to move the user to a different page. The pages are separated using Page Breaks. Below is an example:
> Top row is the Page Header.
> Second section is the Resource Listing & Alerts page.
> After the first page a rectangle is placed which has Page Break set to Start.
> After the rectangle comes the start of the "Data Extract" page. The title is in a rectangle with a Bookmark called Page2.
> Click the link to be forwarded to the Data Extract.
> Page displays, but the Page Header is not visible because the screen is scrolled down slightly.
I have not been able to fix this or find a workaround that forces the Page Header to always display at the top. It has been suggested that putting the page break before the bookmark would force this to work, but that is not working.

Based on my understanding, you add a bookmark link for “Data Extract” in page header, however, when clicking this fields, other page displays without visible page header.
In Reporting Service, when setting page header in a report, the page header will display in each report page. In your scenario, since you set BreakLocation as Start in PageBreak property, the rectangle could make the page header upper and screen scroll down
lightly. So please change this property to End. As we tested in our environment, we set BreakLocation as End in PageBreak property for the blank rectangle. Then adding a bookmark link in page header, when we click “Data Extract”, the page header will appear
on a new page. Please refer to screenshots below:

Heads up display for viewport pixel size while dragging the bar!

Would be a great feature to display the active viewport size in a heads up display while dragging the bar so we can accurately determine the size of viewport to select. Love this program and can't wait for Version 1 and all that's to come!

How to display table range navigation bar at the bottom of the tr table i

While I am using trinidad, I have to face a critical issue. Can I display table range navigation bar at the bottom of the <tr table> in Trinidad? and remove the range dropdown list, only show the "previous" and "next" link? The project is critical on the UI, this problem is very small but has to be fixed? Does anyone have any ideas？

Error while changing the Display Attribute into Navigational Attribute

Hi all.. Gud Mrng.
I was changed the attribute (product) from display attribute into navigational attribute and while save and activating the info object it is not getting activated and it is throwing the below error message.
Error Message: u201CThe Info object is being used in several data targetsu201D
My Questions:
i) Do I need to delete the data from all the data targets (where this info object is using)??
ii) Do I need to delete data only from the main info object (Zmaterial)? Is this single action enough?
Please suggest me which action I need to follow & What are the precautions need to take while changing the Display Attribute (product) into Navigational attribute of info object (Zmaterial).

Only in case of key figures we cannot change it from display to navigational.
If the info object is a characteristics then in the General tab of the info object if you select 'attribute only' then the iobj would be a display attribute only. If you leave it unmarked then you can use the iobj as a navigational atribute.
I am sure you know that these settings only mean if a IOBJ can be used as display or navigational. To use it as a navigational within another object you will have to change the settings from 'DIS' to 'NAV' for the said info object in the 'Attributes' tab of its parent info object.
Further if you use the parent info object in any data target / infio provider you will have to further mark the info object as 'navigational' while defining the attrbute of the said data target / info provider. The info object gets displayed in the data target / info provider attribute properties as 'parent IOBJ_info object'

How to display the detailed navigation with the Search Results

Hello Gurus,
I was able to display the search results in the same frame rather than opening the new window and getting it displayed. Now when the search results are displayed, my detailed navigation and portal favorites etc.. all the iviews are automatically suppressed.
Please help me displaying the search results with Navigation Panel.

What do you mean by suppressed?
Is it gone, or just closed?
If it is just closed, you can try 2 things:
1. Check if the property "Initial State of Navigation Panel" of the page has any influence.
2. There is a javascript method that opens it.
You can see it by importing the file '<b>com.sap.portal.layouts.framework.par.bak</b>'.
Navigate to
System Administration -> Support -> Support Desk -> Portal Runtime -> Browse deployment
then the folder
ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/pcd
and press download.
Import from par to Developer Studio, and check the javascript files under dist/PORTAL-INF for a function called something like 'expandTray'.

Make Scrap portion field in production order header as display only

We have a requirement to make scrap field(CAUFVD-GASMG) in production order header as display field only. We do not want users to enter any values here to denote the quantity scrapped in production orders. I am not aware of any configuration to make this field as display only. Please let me know which user exit or BADI available for this purpose. We do not want to use any screen variants and transaction variants and would like to restrict this at order type or plant level.

Heads up display on PDfs in SAFARI?

Just got the quicktip of the week re: reading PDFs in Safari, tried it, they open just fine but no headsup display at the bottom. Not a deal breaker for me but I'm on 3.1.1 so waz up?

I, too, had that problem. Went to Adobe Reader Prefs, Internet, and unchecked all boxes re viewing with Adobe Reader. Then restarted Safari, and Preview becomes the pdf viewer of choice, and the handy "heads up" display appears at the bottom of the screen.

Next Apple invention will be head-up display?

Next step after iPad where we can see deny of any keyboard should be an invention that allows user not to carry big device with big display but use a head-up display like goggles.

Integrating CRM On Demand with EBS (12.1.3) using BPEL

Hi,
I am working on POC for the integration between EBS and CRM On Demand. We are EBS R12.1.3 and have SOA Suite 10g.
We are planning to use BPEL to do this communication between EBS and CRM OD. Is this something that is possible using BPEL. In additional to BPEL, do we need Java coding or any other language coding?
I donwloaded the Account WSDL from the CRM OD website. Created a new BPEL Process using that WSDL. I read that we need to pass the login credentials using a soap header. Can you please let me know how we can do this in a BPEL Process.
Any pointers would help me alot.

The steps I followed were:
1) Download the file .wsdl associated with contact from CRM On Demand
2) Generate Proxy web service from JDeveloper 10g (version: 10.1.3)
3) Configure the client to consume the resource and to do, for example, the contact’s insertion.
I can make a login and a logout on the Web Service correctly, but when I try to do an insertion I can’t do it.

"Cipher not initialized" when trying to invoke CRM On Demand web service

I'm try to invoke CRM On Demand web service for which there is a pre-req to get a session ID by making an https request. I've the below java embedded code which does that. Same question...did you ever got this resolved...for me, even the simple java program, when run on JDev 11g is ALSO not working. I am getting this.
Using JDev 10g on the same machine (or for that matter SOA 10g) works perfectly.

How does CRM on Demand determine the highest priority Task?

In the "My Homepage -> My Open Tasks" List there is a sortable priority column. If you have a number of tasks in the list with different priorities and click on the priority column they will be sorted in descending order by priority as follows:
"1-High"
"2-Medium"
"3-Low"
I have tried editing the order on the Edit Picklist screen for the Activity Priority field (by navigating to Admin -> Application Customization -> Activity -> Activity Field Setup) but this appears to have no effect on the priority sort order on in the Task List. I have also tried adding new values to the picklist and they always appear as the lowest priority.
So my question is how does CRM on Demand determine that the priority picklist value "1-High" is the highest priority when sorting the tasks?

There is a sort order on the activity applet based upon the priority field. As 1 comes before 2 and 3, it would be sorted to the top.

How actually Oracle CRM On Demand and Outlook integration works?
