Headache with connecting mac and router (netgear)

I'm having a real problem connecting my router. I have bought a Netgear DG834G, and I want to link my iBook to it, only when the router is turned on the internet symbol won't light up and I can't get any futher. I know my line is working, because i'm using it now. I have also tried to reset the router with no sucess. Any ideas would be gratefully recieved!!

PS I believe you need to have PC to setup the internet with your router.

I am having problems with connecting to my router wirelessly. How do I determine my access point's network key?

Follow this from a computer already connected: 1. Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. Use your password if you have changed it earlier. 2. Go to wireless tab. 3. Go to wireless security sub-tab. 4. If security mode is wpa or wpa2 note down pass phrase/shared key, if security mode is WEP note down wep key number 1. This will be your network key.

You do the opposite of how you got them on your phone, you unsync the pics using iTunes.

It sounds like you are wanting to update the Apps that were synced over from your computer to your new iPhone 5s. If you are clicking Updates in the App Store in the bottom right corner, would you mind clarifying what happens when you are trying to update them?

External hard drive use with both Mac and Windows

I know that you can't use an iPod (through iTunes) with both Mac and Windows, but can you still use it as an external hard drive with both operating systems?

Yes, if the iPod is in Windows format. Mac OS X can read and write Windows formatted iPods, but Windows can't access Mac formatted disks unless special software is installed.

Yes. I ran it successfully on Mountain Lion and had no problems when I upgraded to Mavericks. Be sure to apply the latest software updates.

You don't. 5 is the limit of COMPUTERS that can be authorized to a single itunes account. Ipods/iphones/ipad/Apple Tvs do NOT count toward the 5.

You aren't likely to get an answer with that type of attitude. BTW, you are not contacting Apple on these forums. We are all volunteer end users just like you. If you want support, then call AppleCare and you can get one-on-one assistance.

Jeanne, you are going to have to give us some additional information: what kind of files are they, on what computer, using what application, were they made, how was the USB key formatted in the first place?

Your Windows system will not open any Pages, Numbers or Keynote documents. No applications exist for Windows that can open those formats. You will need to export your documents in Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats, respectively, before you'll be able to view and edit the documents on your Windows system. The iWork documents can natively open Word, Excel and PP documents, though there are limitations on what can be imported (for instance, Numbers does not support all possible Excel functions). Consult the documentation for the relevant iWork application for details on importing and exporting.
If you are asking how to get the documents from one system to the other, then there are several ways to do that, including file sharing, using an external drive (hard drive, USB flash drive), or emailing the documents to yourself. Which would be best for your situation I can't say without more details about your usage.
