Header dimension in Journal template

I have created a journal template, and notice that the Header dimension information is not displayed in the template, Only the detail input area is display. Anybody can help with this?

this is weird. What SP are you working on? There are a lot of issues with journals. for example saving and posting of journals does not work in SP 5 ...

    I am in process of re-creating Journal Template and got below error
    (I have upgraded to BPC 7 NE SP8 - before this I was using the Journal!!!!)

    and then Journal Wizard wont display any dimensions to select the header dimensions

    is it possible to fix some default dimension members in journal template..for example the value datasrc allways have to be JOURNAL..
    Also is it possible to rearrage the Journal Template looks for example Jounral ID and Group are coming to the lowerpart of the header ...can it be shifted to the upper part so that FIXED header dimension can come as last portion of  Header Journal Template..

    For adding a fixed value of datasrc try this....
    Limits to Dimension Members for Journal Entries 
    You can limit the number of dimension members that are available to users during journal entry. All base-level members that the user has access to are available when the user fills out a journal template. By using the EnableJRN property for a dimension, you can limit the members available to users when they double-click member cells in the journal template.
    Features
    You can limit journal dimension member lists by adding the property EnableJRN to the dimension for which you want to limit journal access. Then, in its dimension sheet, type a Y in the EnableJRN column of base-level members for which you want to allow users to post journal entries. Repeat this for each dimension you want to limit, and process the dimensions.
    Also, I know of at least one project that had success with changing the journal template heavily for formatting.  I did not test you exact changes but suspect this will be ok.  Please note you will have to recreate the template which means historical journal entries are lost (SAP is chaning this in the future)

    am using category, group and time as my header dimension --
    group dimension contains the LC.
    please suggest what steps can be taken. Also while trying to access journal from etools we get the message journal not found.

    Hi Andy,
    Please check how many sheets are in a default excel workbook on your client. If less than three, BPC fails to create the journal template. If that's the case, try setting default number of worksheets to 3, then retry journal template creation.
    If the above is not the issue, then you'll have to check that reporting services is working correctly. As a first step, go to http://<app server name>/reportserver (or reportserver$<instancename> if you are using a reporting services instance and left it with the default name)
    If that page compiles and shows without error, then try http://<app server name>/ reports (or reports$<instance name>) If that one also compiles/doesn't give errors, then reporting services is working.

  • Wrong comments In journal template

    Hi.
    I have created a journal template, the functionalitiy works fine.
    I have a situation where I have entities and accounts where some have the same id's.
    When you select an entity and account from the current view, it shows the comment as the description of the account or entity.
    What I realised is that if I select the account and entity with the same id, then the entity shows the description of the account being selected.
    Is there a way in which we can correct this, without changing the id's?

    Hi,
    You should think about the possibility of changing the id's which have the same names throughout all your dimensions.
    In fact, it's not recommended to use same id's, and could bring to some problems like the one you're encountering.
    Moreover, you can just notice that, when building an EVDRE form scratch and choosing the same id for Entity and Account dimension (for example), this will automatically display Entity:yourID and Account:yourID in the control panel. You can operate the test. But in any case, you should change all your ID's to be unique throughout all your dimensions.
    In order to perform that, and not to loose any data, you should use the NEWID column in your excel dimension sheet.

  • LC Showing up as the default in Journal Template

    Hello,
    We no longer have LC in our RptCurrency Dimension, however, it still shows up from time to time.  The most recent apperance is on the Journal Template.  It shows up as the default RptCurrency which is odd because it is no where in the dimension.  Can anyone tell me if LC is stored somewhere other then the RptCurrency Dimension that would make it appear as the default for the Journal Template.  We have also seen it appear on the dynamic reports when they open like it thinks LC is in the current view even though it isn't in the dimension.  Can anyone help on this issue?  Thanks.

    Usually this information is download from server into client side.
    If an user connect to server but didn't download the latest version of templates or dimensions it can appear an old version where you have LC into your RPTCurrency dimension and also an old journal template.
    So I suggest to do a refresh client information and I think this will solve the problem.
    (It can happen also in case if you have a dev environment with the same name of appset and in to that environment you still have old RPTCurency and old journal template).

    I have designed a .RTF Template, I need to display a Parameter in the header part of the template, If the Parameter doesn't contain values then I do not want to show them, Can I have If and End if condition in the header part, I believe I cannot use Field in the header part.

    Hi,
    Declare the parameter with the syntax <?param@begin:AAAA?>
    And in the header use <?$AAAA?> if AAAA is the name of your parameter. If theres no value, it will automatically not display since the value is blank, No need of an if wrapper.

  • Can't open 1 document created using travel journal template

    Since installing Snow Leopard yesterday I found out I can't open this one file I created using the travel journal template. All other Pages '09 files are fine. I just get this error message telling me Pages had to close my document "unexpectedly".
    *"Pages quit unexpectedly while using the SFWordProcessing plug-in"*
    Don't see why it would need to use this plug-in. And I don't recall choosing this plug-in. There must be a way around this. To open this file by turning off that plug-in perhaps. Unless it's absolutely necessary when using the templates. Or the "travel journal" template.

    Error- The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable
    The following error I am getting while loading the template using the option upload file
    Error- file upload attempt failed.
    Detail- access to the path c:\hyperion\products\financial data quality\web server components\website\temporary export files\admin******.temp is denied

    Check and make sure that you can visit http:[server]/reports, for the reporting server.  Does that work?  If yes, I would make sure your DB has the APPSET_EXTRA database in addition to the APPSET in SQL DB.  Also, when you process the Applications, via MOdify (full process), does it fail on step 8?
    I have seen this before and it seems to be related to getting the structure correct for the Reports and reporting services.  Hope this helps.

    Not sure if I know what you mean, but...
    You can organise your journals by using journal headers. A batch can contain many Headers. Like this:
    Batch No 1
    - Journal Header 1
       - Line 1       Deb: 200$
       - Line 2                      Cre: 100$
       - Line 3                      Cre: 100$
    - Journal Header 2
       - Line 1       Deb: 100$
       - Line 2                      Cre: 100$When you run Journal Import, you run for a specific source. So Yes you can have different journal headers for the same import process (if you mean import from GL Interface).

    Is anyone know if you can add the journal line number to a web adi journal template.
    Our users create journals in a spreadsheet and upload in to Oracle vua web adi. They print a hard copy of the journal in Excel ADI template format as well as an output from Oracle of the journal to which their backup is attached. This is required for our audit/SOX requirements.
    Our users/audit review team are frustrated that the order of the lines in the adi xls file is not the same as in the actual oracle journal.
    Having looked at the journal template document I cannot find the journal line number as an option when creating the adi template. Is there any other way of ensuring that the line number in excel is the same as in Oracle (aside from re-ordering the excel lines into code combination order).
    We are running on Oracle Applications : 11.5.10.2

    As per (How To Add Line Number Column To Journal Entry Webadi Template [ID 1102405.1]) this feature is not available in R12 so this implies that it is not available in 11i.
