Header File Link - Settings?

When I create PDF’s with Writer 8 it shows the file location from where I created the PDF.  I can not have this showing due to the nature of my business.  How can I permanently change this so that when I create PDF’s from here on out it won’t show?  Please see image.

Hi,
If you were using Acrobat's web capture there is a configuration setting available to turn off placing the html's url in the PDF.
However, it seems you are converting to PDF from a word processor (?).
Most word processors and page layout applications have a feature that permits placing the file's source path in the authoring file.
It appears that this options is in play; so, the Acrobat is taking what is given and processing it.
Be well...

  • How to link two header files so that it may be taken from the library ONLY

    Hi.
    I was able to compile and successfully execute a program earlier
    written in Oracle 7 (Solaris) Now in Oracle 10G (Linux). The only
    problem is that I have to include two header files
    sqlca.h and sqlda.h in the present working directory.How to enter them in the linking command so that I do not need to
    copy them everytime in the current working direcotry ?
    I have used the following commands :
    $ proc sample.pc
    $ cc -L$ORACLE_HOME/lib -L/usr/lib -lclntsh -o sample sample.c
    regds.
    J.S.S

    Use always -I option of the compiler to include all header file directories U wich to add. In this case no need to copy the files.

  • Multiple file links in a single page: A better way to/efficient way to handle ?

    Aloha Everyone!
    I would like to ask the community how they have handled multiple file links in a single page. Sort of a pseudo database of files.
    Here is the webpage I have been working on:http://huichawaii.org/
    Here is what I have done to show files so far:
    old version:http://huichawaii.org/proceedings---2012-education%2c-math---engineering-technology.html
    new version: http://huichawaii.org/ahs2013-proceedings.html
    The website works best in Chrom or Firefox, still have to convert the flash header to an edge animate .
    Mahalo in advance for everyone's input!

    Depending on what other text you might have, you could use the data list component.
    To get the text to have underlines, you will need to edit the repeated item. You can also adjust colors and fonts as well. The default rollover and selected states will probably not be the UI that want, so make sure you change those as well.
    Now for the interactivity, select the datalist, and use the interactions panel, choose "On Select", then "Go To Url", the trick is to make sure the "When a specific item is selected" is also set. Here are the basic settings to get your links working:
    Add new interactions for each item you want to be functional.

  • Problems with file block settings

    We manage file block settings via group policy.  I have run into problems with the file block settings not working as advertised.
    I've run into a couple of issues:
    First, in Excel 2010 I would like to open Web Page and XML files in protected view rather than blocking entirely.  Our "Set Default File Block Behavior" in the GPO is set to "Blocked Files are not opened."  According to the
    documentation, the settings for individual file types should be able to override this behavior but this is not the case in my testing.  If I set "Web pages and Excel 2003 XML spreadsheets" to "Allow editing and Open in Protected View"
    the files are still blocked and the Trust Center list the file as Do not open, not the GPO setting of open in protected view.  I have verified via GPresults that the GPO applied successfully, rebooted the PC, etc.  The "Set Default File Block
    Behavior" is NOT overridden by individual file type settings.
    According to the "plan file block settings" technet article:
    The “Set default file block behavior” setting specifies how blocked files open (for example: does not open, opens in protected view, or opens in protected view but can be edited). If you enable this setting, the default file block behavior you specify applies
    to any file format that users block in the Trust Center UI. It also applies to a specific file format only if you both enable its file format setting (for more information about individual file format settings, see the tables in this article) and select the
    Open/Save blocked, use open policy option. Otherwise, if you configure an individual file format setting, it overrides the
    Set default file block behavior setting configuration for that file type.
    Second, even if I do change the set default file block behavior to open in protected view, I still cannot open XML spreadsheets.  The trust center says that the file format is set to open in protected view but when I attempt to open a file it behaves
    as if the setting was still set to block entirely.
    The only thing that works is setting it to "do not block" which is not where I'd like to go - I would for security reasons like these types of files to open in protected view but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this contrary to the Technet
    documentation.

    Hi,
    I had opened a case at Microsoft in 2012 about the «Open/Save Block, use open policy» parameter about HTM/HMTL files... Here is the answer I got from the support.
    Hope it will help
    Thank you for contacting Microsoft regarding your recent Office 2010 Hotfix request (SR 112022071246968) in reference to File Block settings on web pages. We have conducted a thorough investigation into this matter
    and while we recognize the impact the issue is having on your business, we cannot accept this Hotfix request because it is acting as designed.<u5:p></u5:p>
    Office will block any files that are explicitly set in the File Block UI by an Administrator when there is no built in validator.  The Office File Validation scans and validates certain kinds of files and will
    only display those applicable files in Protected View.  We could provide a safe experience in Protected View for HTM, but it wouldn't be a useful experience. Linked content of the web page is not available (images, stylesheets, javascript, etc), so the
    user would effectively see plain text. This is not the experience we want in Protected View, and it would encourage users to leave Protected View, putting their machine at risk. So HTM/HTML files are blocked.<u5:p></u5:p>

  • Network and 'file:///' links do not open after upd...

    In older versions of Skype we could use links like:

    \\m1fsg1.msk\share\AT\F1\ScreenShots\shot_150227_172758.jpg
    After major update (version with new UI) these links doesn't anymore =(
    'file:\\\' links are not even highlighted anymore, netwok links are highligted but not working either. See image below with URL samples:
    Is there soluiton for that?

    Possibly a result of using a different home page, I use my own home page and have not seen any difference in regards links opening within the same tab, another tab, or another window in conversion from Firefox 3.6.17 to Firefox 4.0.1
    Generally you would have your Tools > Options > Tabs set up to open New Windows in New Tabs instead. You would have Google open links in a New Window which equates then to a new tab (but the same new tab each time).
    You can change your settings for Google searches at the top of a Google search results page "Search Settings". Stored in cookies or at Google, you may have to set up separately for logged in and not logged in to Google.
    Did you have extensions to work with Google, they may not work anymore, check them out carefully. "Google Optimizer", "Optimize Google" both no good to me, but I can use "Google Enhancer" and "Adblock Plus" to do what those did for me.
    These are options for Tabs that I have that differ from the default,
    * |browser.tabs.closeButtons| 3|
    * |browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab| false|
    * |browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent| false|
    * |browser.tabs.loadFolderAndReplace| false|
    * |browser.tabs.loadGroup| 0|
    * |browser.tabs.loadInBackground| false|
    * |browser.tabs.loadOnNewTab| 1|
    * |browser.tabs.openinnewtab| true
    * |browser.tabs.tabClipWidth| 5|
    * |browser.tabs.tabMinWidth| 0|

  • File Links in PDF getting messed up when viewed in browser

    When we put a file link in a PDF (\\servername\sharename\directory\file.doc) and display that PDF in a browser, when we click on that link, it becomes http://webname/servername/sharename/directory/file.doc which does not work at all.
    I have tried the current versions of Reader 8 and 9, as well as an old copy of 6.1 in browsers ID6/7/8 and Firefox 3.5.
    Our web unit insists that it didn't used to do this.
    If I change the Reader option to not open inside the web browser, then clicking on the file link works fine. It's just when Reader opens up in the browser that we have this problem.
    Anyone else run into this? Our folks really like Reader inside of the browser.
    Thanks.

    This is a post for Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Reader as it is a functionality issue with Acrobat.  It is peculiar, I am having the same problem when I save the file to a local Windows Home Server.
    I have a link called file://whsservername/foldername and it becomes file://whsservername/foldernamewherepdfislocated////whsservername/foldername which is totally convoluted.  I am trying to research a solution for this but if anyone else knows what settings to change in Acrobat that would be a great help to post.

  • A question about /usr/include/sys/select.h header file

    good day! i hope i can get some help about this and i would be very grateful if my question will be answered. i have a question regarding the select.h header file that we include in our programs when we use the select(3C) function.
    * Select uses bit masks of file descriptors in longs.
    * These macros manipulate such bit fields.
    * FD_SETSIZE may be defined by the user, but the
    * default here should be >= NOFILE (param.h).
    29 #ifndef FD_SETSIZE
    30 #define FD_SETSIZE 1024
    31 #endif
    its says here in the header file that the value of FD_SETSIZE may be defined by the user and i need to know how. i've already tried declaring a constant at the beggining of the program but it didn't work...
    example:
    #undef FD_SETSIZE
    #define FD_SETSIZE 2048
    the FD_SET macro generates an error if a value larger than 1024 is passed from in the first argument. i need to increase its value in order for me to wait for more than 1024 socket descriptors on select function. how can i increase or modify its value? thanks in advance...

    AFAIK, the only way to change the FD_SETSIZE value is by building your own version of the libc.a and linking it statically to your executable. Not good at all IMHO.
    The sources of Solaris 8 contain the implementation of select(3C) with both standard and 'large' (64K) FD_SETSIZE.
    AFAIK, 64-bit version of the libc.so contains the 64K-descriptors version of the select(3C), so you may consider building your application with -xarch=v9 flag to get 64-bit application...
    As for poll(2) - there is a manual page (man -s 2 poll) and some notes in the Answerbook. poll(2) is the actual system call that is used by select(3C), which is an interface function, so there is no functional difference between these two.
    There is a potential problem with portability of your code if you are using poll(), but it looks like you have no choice... sorry about it...

    This is because of the license for Java not being compatible with the Ubuntu distro license.That may be so, or have been so, but it still isn't Java.I guess if you want to label it, it is the GNU Compiler for Java and associated runtimes. As an open source project for when Java licensing was not very compatible with Linux it served a purpose (even if it served it badly).
    The following is from the GCJ web site. I guess they don't really claim to be 100% Java compliant.
    GCJ is a portable, optimizing, ahead-of-time compiler for the Java Programming Language. It can compile Java source code to Java bytecode (class files) or directly to native machine code, and Java bytecode to native machine code.
    Compiled applications are linked with the GCJ runtime, libgcj, which provides the core class libraries, a garbage collector, and a bytecode interpreter. libgcj can dynamically load and interpret class files, resulting in mixed compiled/interpreted applications. It has been merged with GNU Classpath and supports most of the 1.4 libraries plus some 1.5 additions.The first step for me with Linux was always to install the Sun JDK so never really found out how bad it really was :)

  • What's This Help not working for one entry in each header file

    I have a large RoboHelp project that I have imported into Version 8 from a previous version. Prior to the import into Version 8, all of the What's This Help in the project was working perfectly; now, post-import, I have a problem.
    Firstly, some background information.
    My project contains a large number of individual header (.H) files, one for each dialog within the software. These header files, which have been generated and provided by our developers, contain one entry for each field on the dialog to which the header file relates. The header files are all contained within a \HTML Topics\Fields\ folder (going from the root of my Help project).
    Each header file has a corresponding text (.TXT) file. These text files contain entries that correspond to the entries in the relevant header file. The text files are also contained within the \HTML Topics\Fields\ folder.
    Below is an example of the contents of a header file:
    #define IDH_HIERARCHY_APPEARANCE_HIEARCHY_LIST          16811
    #define IDH_HIERARCHY_APPEARANCE_ADD_APPEARANCE         16812
    #define IDH_HIERARCHY_APPEARANCE_REMOVE_APPEARANCE      16813
    Below is the contents of the corresponding text file:
    .topic IDH_HIERARCHY_APPEARANCE_ADD_APPEARANCE
    Click this button to add a new row of hierarchical appearance settings to the grid.
    .topic IDH_HIERARCHY_APPEARANCE_HIEARCHY_LIST
    Use this grid to define hierarchy appearance settings. Each row in the grid represents a level of the hierarchy. For example, the appearance settings you define for the first row apply to the top level of hierarchy, the settings you define for the second row apply to the second level, and so on.
    .topic IDH_HIERARCHY_APPEARANCE_REMOVE_APPEARANCE
    Click this button to delete the selected row of hierarchical appearance settings from the grid.
    The What's This Help that was part of the original project still works perfectly. However, after upgrading the project to RoboHelp Version 8, I have had to update the project to reflect changes to the software. As part of this work, I have imported some new header files and updated some existing ones - and edited the corresponding text files accordingly.
    The What's This Help that is covered by the header files that I have imported since the upgrade to RoboHelp Version 8 does not work correctly; in each case, the What's This Help does not work for whichever field appears at the top of the appropriate text file. The position of the entry in the corresponding header file does not make a difference.
    If I manually edit a text file to move a different entry to the top then recompile the Help project, the What's This Help does not work for the field that now appears at the top of the text file - and the What's This Help for the field that used to appear at the top of the text file now works.
    I've tried everything I can think of to fix this, but nothing has worked. It seems as if there is a problem in the way RoboHelp is compiling the header and text files.
    If I use Microsoft HTML Help Workshop to decompile the CHM file, then view the contents of the resulting, decompiled text files, the affected files appear as follows:
    .topic IDH_HIERARCHY_APPEARANCE_ADD_APPEARANCE
    Click this button to add a new row of hierarchical appearance settings to the grid.
    .topic 16811
    Use this grid to define hierarchy appearance settings. Each row in the grid represents a level of the hierarchy. For example, the appearance settings you define for the first row apply to the top level of hierarchy, the settings you define for the second row apply
    to the second level, and so on.
    .topic 16813
    Click this button to delete the selected row of hierarchical appearance settings from the grid.
    Note how the entry at the top - which relates to the What's This Help that doesn't work - appears differently to the other entries which do work. The name of the ID appears after ".topic" rather than the appropriate ID number.
    Any help that anyone can provide me with would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Mark

    Its working now. We just kept trying to reinstall the tools and restarting indesign. On the 4th time the buttons started working. I can't explain why it finally worked, just that it is working now.

  • Cross-file links failing under Linux

    (Cross-posted to FrameUsers list)
    FM 9 p250 on WinXP Pro SP3
    Acrobat Pro Extended 9.3.2
    I am  struggling with links across PDF files.  They all work in Windows, but  some work and some don't under Red Hat Enterprise 4 Linux.
    I am  using the following directory structure to create a hierarchy of "menu"  pages with links to other PDFs:
    C:\nCode Desktop 6.0 ISR2\nCode  Desktop 6.0 ISR2\source_docs\contents\Draft for .fm files and .book  files; C:\nCode Desktop 6.0 ISR2\nCode Desktop 6.0  ISR2\source_docs\contents\Draft\graphics for graphics.
    There are  about 50 other directories for PDF documents (they are what you arrive  at using the menus), one for each .book and .fm file set, with a path  such as C:\nCode Desktop 6.0 ISR2\nCode Desktop 6.0  ISR2\source_docs\designlifetheory\draft.  This creates  designlifetheory.pdf. There are crosslinks to other pdfs from within  some of these files.
    For the Contents "menus", I have created one  book per menu. Menus are a  single page long.
    All of the books create single pdfs (i.e., not  multiple files per book). The books are all output to a single  directory, C:\nCode Desktop 6.0 ISR2\nCode Desktop 6.0  ISR2\Deliverables.
    I am using the newlink and gotolink  commands.  The newlink commands are all on master pages.  The gotolink  commands are all on body pages. A typical gotolink would be "gotolink  map_of_help.pdf:helpmap".  This one seems to fail consistently on Linux.  I have tried using "gotolink map_of_help.fm:helpmap", which also  fails.  Should I be using ".fm" instead of ".pdf" in the link?
    The  .pdfs are created using Print to Adobe PDF.  The PDF Setup is Settings:  Standard Job Options, View Generated PDF in Acrobat, Convert CMYK  Colors to RGB; Bookmarks: Generate PDF Bookmarks; Tags: Generate Tagged  PDF; Links: Create Named Destinations for All Elements and Paragraphs.
    I  have tried placing all the books in a single directory using Save As,  with all the paths relative, and books open, and with books closed.  I  have tried dumping all the .fm files and .book files into the same  directory. I have tried outputting to various directories.  I have  combed the archives, and tried to follow Shlomo's training module on  "FrameMaker Books & Cross-File Links."
    I don't seem to get  it, whatever it may be.
    Any help for this newbie appreciated.

    Your links look okay, directory-wise.
    A link would be traversing the root directory if, say, the document is in some subdirectory below C:\nCode Desktop 6.0 ISR2\ and the target was in, say, C:\nCode Masters 6.0 ISR2\....blah blah or on a different disk.
    One other thing: Maybe it's just me and my UNIX background, but using spaces in pathnames or filenames just feels like you're asking for trouble, especially if you want the end product to be portable to other platforms.
    If the links are relative and they work on Windows, as you say they do, then my guess is that Reader on Linux is the problem. Try viewing them using xpdf on Linux and see if the links work then.
    As matter of fact, I issue a very large manual set (69 manuals with approximately 400,000 links) for my Linux customers, and some time ago I abandoned Reader 8.1.2 on Linux in favour of xpdf because I didn't have the time to wait for a fix. The truth is, the links in Reader 6.0 didn't work either, and I was fed up with having to test every new Reader version that came out to see if it actually worked.
    I'd be interested to know if you trace the problem to Reader on Linux, and if you find a Reader version later than 8.1.2 on Linux that works.

  • How to "package" an ill. file, links and all...

    So I just finished a project at breakneck speed and now I have an illustrator file (cs4) with links all over the place, etc.
    I believe there is a way to create a package of sorts, where by I can have the illustrator file as well as all the files linked to it copied neatly into one folder so that I don't have to do it manually. Did I make this tool up in my head? I can't seem to find it.
    First time user here, starting architecture school--- I'm sure I'll wind up being a regular.

    No, I think you were thinking of InDesign's collect assets functionality. As far as I'm aware something similar is not available in AI. A script may exist, but I don't know it then....

  • Import c struct from dll header file into TestStand?

    Hi,
    I'm writing a TestStand sequence to call some CVI functions I have compiled into a dll. One header file in the CVI code is the interface to the dll and declares some functions and some C structs which are to be passed into the functions as pointers. These structs are populated with test results as the CVI code executes. I want to import these structs into TestStand.
    TestStand seems to have properly imported my function calls because I can select them from a drop-down list. But it doesn't seem to recognize my struct definitions, because it just says "unknown __struct 617*" -- it knows it's a C struct pointer but doesn't know what fields exist in the struct.
    How do I get TestStand to recognize the fields that are in my structs?
    The C functions and structs are declared with DLLEXPORT in the header file. I compile the CVI code into a dll, with the target settings set to export marked header files and symbols. The only header file marked in the target settings dialog is the header file declaring these functions and structs. So I think they're being exported properly into the dll.
    Any ideas to help?
    Thanks!

    I'm using typedef struct {...} MyStruct; to make life easier in CVI world, so rather than changing that throughout my CVI code I think I'll just live with the fact that TestStand doesn't know what struct type it is.
    But typedef or not, is it ever possible for TestStand to import the struct definitions (ie so that it knows what fields and types exist within the struct)? Or do I have to make containers in TestStand that match the format of the structs I'm using in CVI, and pass those container pointers into my CVI function calls?
    Thanks!

    As always there are a few options:
    1. Include the xml in your virt... snap/config your app but don't build, add the file to the correct location in the files section. This will make the file pretty much static though, only the virt app would be able to edit it.
    2. Use folder isolation settings to allow the virt app to see the xml file on the PC. Snap/config your app but don't build, in the files section add the folder path of your xml. Set isolation(for all folders in path based on need) to either merge or writecopy. I personally try to avoid merge if at all possible. look at the zav help section (search for isolation) to see a description of the isolation settings.
