Header/footer in adobe reader

Is there a way to add a header/footer in adobe reader?

No. Adobe Acrobat can do it.

How to align text to the left in Pages 5.5 in all 3 boxes in header or footer?

    I've just found another solution:
    1. create 3 columns table in Pages 4.3
    2. input text in those 3 columns, make alignment whatever you like
    3. copy text from each cell of Pages 4.3
    4. paste text into each box of Pages 5.5 header/footer

  • Why don't the Adobe Acrobat 10.1.6 and Adobe Reader 9.5.4 patches update the version on the exe file

Why don't the Adobe Acrobat 10.1.6 and Adobe Reader 9.5.4 patches update the version on the exe file ? My vulnerability reports show these installations are not patched when they really are.

    Hi All,
I also facing the same issue with Adobe reader 9.5.4 version update.
    Previous Version installed: 9.5.3
    AcroRd32.exe - File Version 9.5.3.305
    AcroRd32.dll - File version 9.5.3.305
After update installation to 9.5.4, add or remove program shows latest version but exe and dll is not updated. Vulnerability assessment tools based on file version check identifies patch is still missing. Becomes a HEAD ACHE.
Adobe Reader 9 > Help > About Adobe Reader 9 - First shows version 9.5.4, if your click on it instead of showing AGM version next it shows version 9.5.3.305.
I tested for all previous versions of 9x, works fine in each update. Seems like patch is missing codes for updating file versions.
    Waiting for an acknowledgement.

  • Add Header, footer and Margin programmatically in Adobe Acrobat 7.0

I am using adobe acrobat 7.0 profesinal, We receive multiple PDF files then we have
to add header and footers and also change the Megins in these files.
Is this possible we can made these changes using Code written in VBA, VB6 etc.
So my point is add header & footer programmatically using VBA and VB6.
Is there need to access any APIs.?
What I have to to for this purpose??
    Thanks in advance
    Aftab.

Do they print if you chose to shrink to printable area in the printing options? I'm wondering if it's possible that your printer has a default border and the header/footer is getting cut off.

  • Adobe Reader 8.0 - Heads UP!

I just installed the Adobe Reader 8.0 for Mac (specifically 10.4 Tiger releases) on 10.5 Leopard, to see if it would work and what would be 'broken'.
I can say that printing was broken on my machine, and the graphics didn't look right. Preview looked better!
Just a 'Heads UP!' for any one thinking to install Adobe Reader on Leopard, who have installed the 8.0 version, or who may have had it on Tiger when they upgraded to Leopard.

Matt, have you tried it to see what isn't working with 8.1.1 and Leopard?
Not yet. There have been enough improvements in Preview that make it more useable for me. I haven't had much time to experiment with programs the developer has said won't be fully functional.

  • Adobe Reader 8 prints head-to-toe on duplex printer...

I'm working with Adobe Reader 8.1.1 and Windows XP Pro. Using HP Color LaserJet 2605dn, which has automatic duplex printing capability.
I have PDF files that contain several pages. When I set the 2605's "Preferences" to print duplex (print on both sides of the page), it prints the pages "head-to-toe" - page 1 is right side up, page 2 (on the back of page 1) is upside down, page 3 (on the 2nd sheet of paper) is right side up, page 4 (on the back of page 3) is upside down, and so on.
I've experimented with the various settings in Reader's Print dialog box, but nothing makes all the pages print right side up.
I don't know the source of the problem: the multi-page PDFs I'm trying to print were not all created by the same person or software. Duplex printing works correctly when printing multi-page documents from other kinds of software (e.g., Microsoft Word and various databases).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, John

I put this aside. The only thing I can think of, is installing earlier verisons and testing those. I'm not sure Adobe will assist on this issue since Adobe Reader is a free program. I'll post any solutions that come this way.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Header/Footer

It is easy to add, edit or remove a footer on a PDF document.
It is possible to add the page number, the date, or a text by the "Document - Header & Footer".
My question is: Is it possible to include an AutoText in the footer of a PDF? I need the Filename in the text of the footer. Now, the only way I found is to manualy type all the differents file names but I have a lots of documents.
How can I include the FileName on a foother of a PDF document and is it possible to easily apply this setup to hundreds of documents.
    Thanks in advance

You could use the watermark feature to stamp the information

  • Acrobat 8.1.2 crashes when Document Header & Footer Add .. is invoked

I'm running Acrobat 8.1.2 PPC on a PowerBook G4/1.67 Ghz running Leopard 10.5.4. I haven't used the page numbering function in quite a while, since before I upgraded to Leopard. Today I assembled a course packet of 150+ pages from 50 or so individual pdf documents. All was fine until I wanted to put a page number in the footer by invoking Document > Header & Footer > Add.... It either crashes Acrobat after putting a spinning system cursor (more frequently) or simply does nothing. I've tried "Examine" to remove things, but it doesn't help (and it removes bookmarks even when you tell it not to!). Running the PDF Optimizer on this document crashes Acrobat as well!
Invoking Document > Header & Footer > Add.... on other documents does work. Let me stress that this composite document was created by Acrobat itself! The workaround I found was to open the document in Preview, do Print > Save as pdf, and *then* invoke Document > Header & Footer > Add....
Has anyone else seen these problems? Are these remaining incompatibilities with Leopard? Advanced > Document Processing > Number Pages doesn't seem to add page numbers!

I don't think it makes a difference. An Adobe engineer has confirmed that this doc has revealed a bug in both Acrobat Pro 8 and 9.

  • How do I add a header/footer to a document?

I am using Adobe X Standard, version 10.1.2 and everything I am reading tells me to go to tools>pages>Header & Footer>Add Header & Footer, but once I click on tools to the left, the only options I have are export and create pdf files and send files. There is no tools option in the tool bar on the top. File, edit, view, window & help are my only options. How can I add a header/footer to a document?!

I think you might be opening your Pdf document in Adobe Reader. If you try open your pdf document in Adobe Standard and check again as far as your option are concerned you should be able to do that.

What you describe tends to indicate that you're using Reader, not Acrobat. If you do have Acrobat installed, make sure you're using it and not Reader.

  • Header Footer tool replaces headers and footers in PDF

The header/footer tool replaces the headers and footers in my PDF, this header and footer I am referring to was not added in Adobe but was added in Word 2010, when I tried to add an additional header to my PDF (I added a page number) it replaced the footers that was already in my document. The only way I could get around this is with adding a header instead of replacing, which is quick fix, but as soon as you add more pages to your PDF and want to re-apply the header/footer to update the page number that I added to the header it would remove ALL headers and footers from the PDF.

I am having the same problem.  Here are the steps.  We created a series of documents in WORD 14.0.7143.5000 32 bit.  Each WORD document has a footer specific to that document (i.e. WORD documents are: Business Plan, Market Study, etc. which are each a separate WORD document, each with a separate WORD footer).  Each WORD document is converted to PDF with Adobe X.  The PDF documents are then combined into a single document with Adobe X.  Then with Adobe X we create a new footer (i.e. Document Package, with date, etc.) which is applied to each page of the Document Package.  So each page of the Document Package SHOULD have a Footer of : (1) On the Left Margin - the original WORD document (i.e. Business Plan) and (2) on the right margin - the footer inserted with Adobe X (Document Package footer).
Here is where it breaks.  The WORD footers are retained when we convert from WORD to Adobe.  The WORD footers for each document are also retained when we combine the several PDF's into a single PDF (Document Package).  It is only when we add the Adobe Footer to the Document Package that we lose all the original WORD footers.  The result is the Document Package has only that one Document Package footer (on the right margin), and we lose each of the footers which were in the original WORD documents (left footers).  I tried this two ways.  First was to modify the footer, and the second way was to add a new footer - neither works - both delete the original WORD footers.  Also, it is interesting because the original WORD footers do not show up in the ADOBE footer box (the screen where you enter the text and other information for the footer).
The use of the Watermark might be possible, and it is probably the work around we will need to use, but it is a poor solution.  Please let me know when fixed.

  • Dynamic header / footer

    Hi all,
I created an Adobe Form and defined on the MasterPage a header, a footer and a main area (content are) in-between. The areas were defined with a fixed size (somehow it was the only way because "fit height" and "fit width" was innactive).
Because the form is used in different countries the amount of information in the different areas is not the same. Therefore I am looking for a dynamic header and footer (and main area). That should help to optimise the space exploitation on a page. The header should grow from top of the page down, the footer bottom up and the main area fill the gap.
I know that this is a very sophisticated demand. Nevertheless, I hope that someone else had similar ideas and could solve that task.
I appreciate any help, hints and good advices which leads to a solution of my problem.
    Thanks & regards,
    Phil

    Hi Andres,
thanks a lot for your quick answer!
In your MasterPage, add only the items that will remain static during the execution.
Every object that will behave in a dynamic manner should go in the BodyPage.
    Very good hint, thanks!
What you can do is set a Subform with flowed Western Text between your Header/Footer
(Static) of your MasterPage. Within that main Subform set three more, "Western Text" as well.
One will be for your Dynamic Header, the middle one for your Main and the bottom one for your
    Dynamic Footer.
I think I did not really get it! As far as I understand this works for one page...my form - when filled with data - can have more than one page!
Some questions came up when I read your solution:
    1) why is the flowed content "western text" and not "top to bottom"?
    2) what happens exactly with the area of the static header / footer? It's above the dynamic header and below dynamic footer -> is that space not wasted in the end?
    3) The dynamic footer is directly below the main area - not necessarily at the bottom of the page!?
    4)  How is the "pagination" defined for each of the three dynamic areas (header / main / footer)?
I hope you'll find the time to answer my question soon!
    Thanks & regards,
    Phil

  • Header / Footer justification problems in Acrobat 9 Pro

When I want to add unifying headers or footer in my document, I see the center header/footer as centered in the preview and I see the right header/footer as right justified, but when I apply the header or footer to the document it shows up as left justified each time. What am I doing wrong or what setting do I need to change for it to work properly. Sorry to ask such a dumb question (maybe), but it worked fine for me in Adobe 7 Pro.

Multiline headers or footers are all left justified.

  • Update Header & Footer deletes footer in Acrobat Pro 9.2

I am using Acrobat Pro to add a header to a pdf document that was created from MS Word. This MS Word document has a footer but the header is blank. I can save the word document as a pdf using the Acrobat plugin and then add a header using Acrobat Pro so that now the pdf document has a header and footer. So far, so good.
Now, if I open the pdf document again and select Document -> Header & Footer -> Update   the header is preserved and can be edited but the footer is blank !!
I would expect to see both the header and footer present just as they were before I saved the pdf.
This effectively makes the Update function useless and looks to me like a bug.
    Any suggestions gratefully received.

Bernd, thanks for looking into this problem. It seems that I am not alone ! Unfortunately, Adobe don't have a good track record in responding to user alerts and that's assuming that the user can find a way to alert Adobe. At 500 UKP (about 800 USD), Acrobat Pro is an expensive product and really shouldn't have problems like this.

  • How do I reset margins & header/footer?

I wanted to extend the printing margins so I could get more printout from a map. I left all the Headers & Footers options "blank" hoping this would do it. Instead I get nothing. I can't print anything online - it's all blank. How can I reset the page setup? Even the Page Setup/Margins & Header/Footer page is blank! HELP!

I think you might be opening your Pdf document in Adobe Reader. If you try open your pdf document in Adobe Standard and check again as far as your option are concerned you should be able to do that.
