       You are right in stating EKKO as header and EKPO as line item data. They are maintained in ECC.
    Now for the details about the data:
    In SAP every transaction is referred to as a document. In this case you are talking about a purchase document. Now what does purchaing document contain? I will contain information like: Who is the vendor? When was the transaction done? what was bought? What is the quantity of each item bought?
      Whatever is applicable across the document is called header data... and what is applicable for each item is called line item data. In this case
    1. Header data would be the vendor, date of transaction, purchaing organization ... etc.
    2. Line item data would be the item details, the quantity of the item, the unit price of each item ...etc.

    I know that header level data is applicable to all the items in the sales document. But is this always the case? Is there a case where header level data is not applicable to all items in the sales order?

    Header level information may not be same as item level information. Few examples:
    1. Business data (Incoterms, Payment terms)
    Based on your configuration, in VOV7, item category, if you activate business item. Then you can have different incoterms etc. at header level and item level in a sales order.
    2. Partners
    As mentioned by JM, if you set up partner determination, assigned to sales document type and item category, both having SH partner function; then in the sales order, you can have different SH at header and different SH at item levels.
    3. Division
    Based on configuration, VOV8, sales document type, field item division if you activate this, then the division at header and item can be different.
    In the sales order, header division will come from the division given in the initial screen VA01
    and in the item, the division will populate from the material master 's division.

  • BADI for sales order header level data

    Is there any BADI which will give me the sales order header level data? I need net price of the sales order in header level. KOMK structure does not contains the net price value.

    My requirement is:
    I am writing a pricing routine for calculating ZSMR condition value in sales order header level. The formula for calculating is (NET PRICE / NET SALES COST) / NET PRICE.
    I can't use VBAK  because I have not saved the sales order yet. I need to use some structure.
    Which structure contains the net price of the sales order in header level. KOMK structure does not contains the net price value.

    KNA1 is master data table stores information about customers.it will update thru XD01/XD02 tcodes or FD01/FD02..etc.
    Master data will be used to create transactional data.
    Once we created master data means,normally we dont change.like employees creation,vendor creation..etc
    When it comes transactional data we have concept of header and item level.
    suppose sales order is transactional data.conatins VBAK as header level, VBAP as item level data.
    Header data contains main information to all the items like shipto party sales order creation date ,who created sales order,sales order type..etc.
    Item level contains what material,order qty..etc.
    we can call Transactional data as frequently changing data.Like when ever customer needs some item from company means we create sales order for that item.so we call transactional data as daily basis change data.

  • Smart form for different header level data

    Hi,
    I need to design a smart form,in th samart form i have 2 header records and for each header reocrd again 10 item records.
    My form shd print with fst header record  and its item records and after ending fst header record details it shd give 2nd header record and its item records.
    For example I have Header records A and B
    A have 1 2 3 4   5 item records and
    B have 7 8 9 10 11 item records
    My form shd be

    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    b----
    7
    8
    9
    10
    11

    You can use the SORT to have different header.
    You must be having some indicator in your ITEM table to distinguish different set of data.
    In the TABLE node, Under the DATA tab, give your field in the Sort Criteria.
    Select the check box Event on Sort Begin.
    This will create a new node under the HEADER and MAIN area of your table. In this Node, you can put your Header to have it different for different set of records.
    Like:
    MAIN window
    .. TABLE with sort of field1
    .... HEADER
    .... FIELD1 sort begin "use this for Header
    .... MAIN

    I have a requirement in which, users should not be allowed to change  item level data or not allowed to add any new items in sales order on a certain condition. But they should be allowed to change the header level data.

    Here check for ur validation, If passes then CHECK variable SVBAP-TABIX. If it is 0 then item is created. If it is GT 0 then item is changed. Other way could be...
    select data from VBAP for each sales document and item in xvbpa internal table.
    If for any item u don't have data in VBAP table that means u r adding that item. So issue error message.

  • PO Form Issue with Header Level Changes

    Issue:
    It has been observed that whenever changes are done in PO Header (e.g. Header Text), system prints Billing Address and Communications Details as blank. If the changes are made to Line Item level along with header then system prints the Billing address and Communication Details correctly.
    Analyse:
    we are using the SELECT statement below to fetch the field for
    Billing Address and Communications Details.
    SELECT SINGLE
    mandt z_plant z_company_code z_toll_free_no z_local_no z_fax_no
    z_email z_name1 z_name2 z_street z_house_no z_district z_post_code
    z_city z_country z_vat_no z_loc_term_cond z_langu

    And when we only change the header level  data no value is passing for comany code and plant . as a result Select statement gets failed and we are getting blank window.
    NOTE: we are getting blank box only when we fire a print or fax.The preview is coming fine.

  • Report on Service Contracts Authoring header level only

    Created a Discoverer report that returns most of the header level data for Service Contracts Authoring. Issue is that for Summary/Parties it is returning all contacts. I want to see if I can limit the return to what the user is seeing at the application level (Role, Name, Email etc...) for the Contacts. I have found articles that suggest main line is what I want to return but had no luck. I have tried what I thought would be other unique identifiers from the okc_contacts_v, okx_party_contact_v, but the returns for each contact were identical. Thanks for any input on this subject.

    Try to figure what security rule the application uses.
    you need to look at the view that lies behind the application screen.
    To do that you need to change the profile "Hide Diagnostics menu entry" for your user to: No using sysadmin.
    Then go to the application screen where you see the needed data and go to Help->diagnostics->Examine.
    enter password for APPS.
    Then chose in "Block" the SYSTEM and in "Field" Chose "Last Query".
    You'll get the sql behind the last query you made in the screen.
    Copy it to the SQL tool and start drilling into the view/s.
    Try to find the security applied in the sql and use the same in your query.
    At the end of this process you'll get the same security in your view as in the application.

  • Clearing Sales Tax at Header Level in an Order

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to not charge any tax on an order if the credit card used on the order is a government credit card. Currently I have implemented this logic in USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE. I am able to clear out the sales tax at the line level but this change does not reflect at the header level. I have to manually click on update pricing to zero out the tax displayed at the header level. I could not find a variable to tap into header level pricing condition and tax value field.
    I would greatly appreciate if any one can give me some pointers on where to look for header level data for tax. Also, is there any better user exit to implement this functionality.
    Folliwing is the code I am using to clear out line item level tax:
              LOOP AT XKOMV INTO WA_XKOMV WHERE KSCHL EQ 'UTXJ'.    "GET THE TAX CONDITION
                  CLEAR WA_XKOMV-KWERT.                               "Set the TAX to 0

    Hi,
    In the case of sales cycle, All the item level taxes are summirised and come to the header level. So we can't find the conditions at header level for taxes. Check the user exit , because, the values are already moved to the header level structure and then you are clearing the item level taxes. I hope thats why the changes are not reflected in header level.

  • Why release strategies for PO at header level only

    We have release strategy for Purchase Requisitions and Purchasing documents like PO, Contract and SA.
    In case of PREQ we have a choose for either item level release or header level release, whereas in case of PO, Contract and SA only header level release is possible.
    My question is why SAP has provided only the header level Release Strategy for PO, Contract and SA? I wan to know the reason and logic behind this.

    For PR's, there is no header level data. Becuause vendor number is optional since it is internal document from the user dep. to pur org. That's why, vendor number fields is at item level in the source of supply screen. But this is optional field.
    That's why, you can release PR line items one by one or all at a time.
    If you are releasing all line items at a time, need header level release.
    If you release line item by line item, need item level release.
    But in the case PO/Contract/SA, these are final reference documents and sending to the vendor as external documents.
    That's vendor number is at header level field and line item in the PO are related to the single vendor.
    That's why u cann't release line item by item, i.e., item level release.
    You can relase all the  items in the PO or u can reject entire PO, not a single line item.
    That's why, only header level release is possible for the PO/Contract/SA.

    I need to know how to relate a field in the header level and the row level...
    On my row level i want the route id to be related to the route name field at the header level...instead of showing this route id  it must show only the header so...based on the row level data the header must change...
    I tried insertin the field but when i do a relate to on either fields its showing me only fields on that catagory ( Header only or Row Level only)

    The Header is evaluated and printed first and then only Repetitive area is computed and printed. You cannot try to arrive header based on the Repetitive area.
    Please explain in detail which screen etc.. so that we can suggest some work arounds

    Why should we load header data first and then we load item level data?
    Is there any particular reason?
    Scenario: 1st I have uploaded 2LIS_11_VAHDR sales document header data from R/3 to BW by using LO-Cockpit extraction. Then I loaded 2LIS_11_VAITM.This is the norma procedure which we use to follow.
    I have a question. If I load 2LIS_11_VAITM data 1st from R/3 to BW and then I will load 2LIS_11_VAHDR by using LO-Cockpit extraction. what will happen?

    There is no difference in doing it the other way.
    The load sequence will come into play only during activation where if you map the same fields from the two datasources, you might want to have the previous value overwritten by data from the next datasource.
    That is when you should care about loading one datasource before the other.
    To your question it is not arule that header data should come first.

    The viewset is defaulted for item level date profile and action profiles.
    The Business Object type will have to be BUS2000116 in your action and date prof's  - service process header
    Have you customised any viewset yet !
