Header level MRP and component level stocks.

Dear Gurus,
I have a requirement where i have a i have a SFG with 2 components in the BOM also SFG. All items are externally procured. Scenario is Make to stock. My requirement is such that when i run MRP i want purchase req to be generated for header material. But when GR is done i want stocks at component level to be updated. This is because i am also issuing the components individually. Is this scenario possible..?
Kindly help,
Thanks,
Anand Deshmukh.

Hi Anand,
Your Requirement is logical but there are some issues regarding Stock and Accounting also (If your are doing stock Transfer)
1) First of all you want that During the GR of semi finished goods, stock of Component should also updated, but my dear freind in this way you may got wrong stock report.
For example
If your doing GR of 1 Kit then you may report something like,
1 kit - Which also contains 1 Nos of Comp X
1 Nos - Compo X.
Total 2 Nos. But actually there is only 1.
2) Now if you are doing stock transfer from Kit to Component then there also some issues,
- If you are transferring the stock from Kit to component then ultimately it may decrease the stock value, because you are going to transferring the material stock from higher value material (Kit) to low level (Component seal).
- You can only transfer material stock as 1 : 1 means, 1 sander material and 1 receiving material. So question is what about other component?
So my suggestion is wait for other experts.

Dhaval

  • What is Header level data and item level data? Please elaborate.

What is Header level data and item level data? Please elaborate.
    Details:
EKKO is Purchasing Document Header; what is purchasing Document Header? who, what and where can i look for this data.
EKPO is Purchasing Document Item; what is Purchasing document item means?
what is item level data means?
When you take the Senario of SRM and ECC; where the purchase data is maintained primarily in SRM or ECC?
Thanks in advance. I will assign the points only to the valuable information.
    York.

    Hi York,
You are right in stating EKKO as header and EKPO as line item data. They are maintained in ECC.
Now for the details about the data:
In SAP every transaction is referred to as a document. In this case you are talking about a purchase document. Now what does purchaing document contain? I will contain information like: Who is the vendor? When was the transaction done? what was bought? What is the quantity of each item bought?
Whatever is applicable across the document is called header data... and what is applicable for each item is called line item data. In this case
    1. Header data would be the vendor, date of transaction, purchaing organization ... etc.
    2. Line item data would be the item details, the quantity of the item, the unit price of each item ...etc.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Kazmi

  • How to run mrp and capacity leveling through heuritics.

    Hi,
How to run mrp and capacity leveling through heuritics.
What are the setps required for production planning run this thing in the heuritics in pp/ds?
    Regards,
    Sunil

    Sunil,
APO PP/DS doesn't have a 1-to-1 match for MRP/Cap levelling per se.  There are, though, a limitless number of ways to achieve the results you want.
Start with a basic PP planning MRP - SAP_PP_002, which will should create all necessary planned orders
Then try a DS heuristic to schedule your orders according to capacity.  Schedule Sequence SAP001 is a good starting point.  This can be used to schedule your cap relevant work centers such that they fully load the capacity available, similar to cap levelling.

  • Document level Data and Item level data

    Hi,
Can anyone please explain the difference between Document level data and Item level data for sales order.
    Thanks
    shalini

Item is the lowest level detail of the order. For ex it would be a particular material. Document would be the overall "top" level. Usually refered to as header level. It relates to everything in the document.
    pts appreciated

One statement can change many rows.
Difference determines how many times the trigger fires or under what conditions.

with system level privilege user can create objects such as creating tables, view, synonyms etc
where as in object privilege we can only manipulate operations on object i.e perform dml not ddl There are some system privileges that only concern manipulating objects: SELECT ANY TABLE, for example.
The main difference is that the system-level privileges tend to cover all objects of a certain type, including objects that haven't been created yet.
Object-level privileges usually apply only to one specifi object, such as one particular table, and are lost if the object is dropped. (For example, if I create a table called table_x, give you SELECT pivileges on it, then you can query my table. But if I then drop table_x and re-create it, you will not be able to see it unless I grant the privilege again.)

  • Diff between two-level infrastructure and multi-level system landscape

    Hi Experts,
Can Anyone explain me what exactly is meant by two-level infrastructure (SAP and customer solutions) and multi-level system landscape (SAP, country-specific versions, industry solutions, partner, customer, and so on) in the below statement
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-level infrastructure (SAP and customer solutions), but instead allow for a multi-level system landscape (SAP, country-specific versions, industry solutions, partner, customer, and so on). You can create definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins at any level of the system landscape

    Hi
The user-exit can be implemented once, i.e. it can be used once: so it can be used to solve a particular customer situation.
The BADI can have several implemantations, so the same BADI can be used several times, and so it can be used to solve problem of customer, for business (so different implemantion for every SAP vertical, for example one for AFS, one for OIL,......), for a specific for a country (it's the case for the FI BADIs used to solve different legal specific of every country where SAP is implemented), .......

I think you are taking backup with backup plus archive log, archive log backup does the
    following steps chronologically
    1. Runs the ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT command.
    2. Runs BACKUP ARCHIVELOG ALL. Note that if backup
optimization is enabled, then RMAN skips logs that it
has already backed up to the specified device.
    3. Backs up the rest of the files specified in BACKUP
       command.
    4. Runs the ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT command again
cuase right now it will  Backs up any remaining
       archived logsgenerated during the backup.

  • Command level parameters and report level parameters

    Hi All,
I know it is a basic question. But please guide me.

    Hi Divya,
Please be specific about what you're looking for help on. Are you trying to understand the difference between the two?
    - Command Level promps are created in the 'Add Command' option and are usually added in the where clause to filter records on the database based on the value/s entered by the user
    - Report Level prompts are created in the report via the Field Explorer and serve the same purpose as the Command Level prompts however offer greater functionality and options for the prompts - e.g creating a date range prompt
P.S: There are of course many other differences too.

  • Header and item levels

    Hello,
In the context of  transaction processing, what is a header level and an item level?

    Hi Iris,
A business transaction is nothing but some sort of business interaction with a business partner.
The general structure of any business transaction structures the data into header level data and item level data.
The general data that applies to the entire transaction is called as header level data
The data that is specific to a product(item) and that it varies from one product(item) to another used in the transaction are termed as item level data.
General data, such as Business Partner number, Description, Priority, Purchase Order Number, Pricing Procedure, Status, Subject.... etc. are part of Header Level data.
Item-specific data, such as Pricing relevance, ATP Relevance, Quantity, Confirmation relevance quantity, billing relevance ... etc. are part of Item Level Data.
I hope this will give you more clarity on the same.
    regards
    Srikantan

  • Information Regarding Essbase Security Except Filter Level and User Level

I have an requirement to implement data level security in Essbase. For ex: A user can only see those data which are from Asia region or an user will be able to see those data which are from America.
Asia and America are defined in my location dimension.
can any one explain about it without using user Level Security and Filter level security.
Please tell me how to do it?
    Thanks in advance.

Sandeep's reference the DBAG and the section on filters is the right direction. The filter is created in EAS.
    Let's use an example.
You create a METAREAD filter (that is, it filters both data and dimensionality) that gives a user limited access to the Location dimension (I think I have that right), e.g., the British Isles, the UK and Ireland. You can also create a READ filter but it only limits data and, in my opinion at least, causes confusion because users can see metadata (the whole world) but only see data for the British Isles.
NB -- filters can be assigned to individual usernames or to groups that users are members of. For a POC, I'd keep it simple and just assign it to a username, but it's your choice.
Assign the filter to the user in Shared Services.
Try connecting to the database in Excel through the Classic Add-In or SmartView to test what the user sees -- it should be: Total Location, British Isles, the UK, and Ireland. You will see Total Location (top of the dimension) because that's how Essbase navigates down -- it has to have the dimension name to find the limited children. You won't see any data there. But you will see data at the Location members that the METAREAD filter allows.
That's it -- it's been around since the year dot, and is the way access is restricted. You shouldn't need to reinvent the wheel to get this to work in OBIEE. Essbase should do the work.
