Header UI 2007 not working + Time-out CRM 2007

Hello,
We are currently installing CRM 2007 as a standalone. However we encounter 2 problems:
1. De header menu (personalize etc) is not working. Clicking on those links has no effect at all
2. When starting a functionality (e.g. account management -> accounts) we get a time-out after 60 seconds. Probably because SAP is compiling the screen for the first time. How can we adjust the time-out settings?

The timeouts are controlled by profile parameter settings for the ICM. You can use the parameters listed below to control these settings.
icm/keep_alive_timeout - seconds
icm/conn_timeout - msec
icm/max_timeout_net - msec
icm/min_timeout_mpi - msec
rdisp/plugin_auto_logout - seconds
I would strongly recommend however that you SGEN your entire system before using the new CRM webclient. You still can time out even with the parameters above set to generous values.

What do you mean? Please be more precised so I may help you father. If it is plugged in, but won't open. You must wait at least 5 minutes before using it again. Ipod need a certain amount of power for it to start. Or even when its plugged in but wont charge, make sure it is connected very well to the computer or the power outlet to the Ipod. Lastly, if you are charging at another place, for example in your friend's house. The voltage power may be different from where you mostly charge it from. But if it isn't plugged. Maybe it need to be charged?

Spell Check is not working in MS Office 2007

Hi All,
Spell Check option is not working in MS Office 2007 applications like Word and Outlook.
Surprisingly, when we reply to any email, spell check is working fine, but when we are typing New email, Spell Check is not working.
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3
Gone through Google and modified Registry keys, updated MS Office 2007 hot-fixes, reinstalled MS Office 2007, but nothing worked.
Could anyone help us on this issue.

This is true. If you use Fiddler to watch the requests from the list view quick edit you can see CSOM calls. For example when changing a value in a cell, when you tab out you will see the SetFieldValue and Update method calls on the list item.

Work flow in CRM 2007

Hi,
I want to implement some work flow related activities in CRM 2007. Can I implement this using Guided Procedures in CAF or workflow ? Which is the better way? pls suggest..

Ajay,
Your question is a little vague as you don't have a business scenario for your workflow related requirements.
I will say that if the workflow process does not involve switching out of CRM and only involves steps in CRM, then traditional workflow will work fine. If you need to do something where the steps involve multiple systems then guided procedures would be a better solution.
Perhaps if you share more of your scenario you will get some better ideas on how to go about it.

F4 is not working on PCUI - CRM 5.0

I am referring the SAP CRM5.0 for PC-UI.
I want to see on the Service order -> Status tab page on header
Inside the status tabpage, you see the status and reason field. Based on the Status field value, I want to see the Reason F4 help ( Input Help ).
Currently I am not able to see any values in F4 Help and It's working fine on the CRM GUI.
Let me know if I am missing any thing here.

HP Pavillion Does NOT work Straight Out of the Box after Purchase

My daughter bought a new HP Pavillion from Office Depot before starting computer classes at the university. The first one would not work at all and after the tech folks tried all that they could and it would not work, the Office Depot staff exchanged it for another one. Straight out of the box, it does not work. It crashes constantly. My daughter has spent HOURS that she needs for assignments on the phone with HP tech support. Here is where she stands with the situation now: She bought the extended warranty, but apparently that does not cover computers that don't work. The HP warranty....does not apparently assure that you get a working computer either, even when it's just days old and won't function. So....after spending from about 1p to nearly 6p today on the phone with HP tech support, she is not assured that it will work.
They are calling back on Friday to see.
So if it is NOT working, are we just out of luck with a piece of junk that does not function except as a word processor? That won't connect to the internet without crashing? We have been given no options or assurances.

If you have a warranty, does that mean that HP stands behind their product and refund the consumer's money when it doesn't? The new HP Envy printer did not work, due to a defective ink cartridge enclosed with it. Does any HP product work at all?

SSH Not Connecting - Times Out

Hi everyone. I'm back on Arch after a few year hiatus.
I'm trying to SSH into my ARM based Arch linux install.
SSHing from the local network works fine. No problems.
When I try to SSH from outside the network, it doesn't connect and times out.
I've created port.conf under /etc/systemd/system/sshd.socket.d/ which reads

I have systemd.socket service running as confirmed by systemctl
I have port forwarded port 2222 TCP\UDP on my modem to the computer's IP on the network.
Running
sudo tcpdump -lnn -i eth0 port 2222
reads a lot of information. Specifically, I've tracked down the IP address that I'm trying to connect from and it reads:

To avoid confusion, I just changed the ssh port to 2876 which is why it's responding with that port instead of the original 2222 that I put in when I started this thread.
No that is NOT normal, there must be an address translation somewhere; maybe the routing device between your client (172.56.16.239) and your server; this could be the problem; that the address translation is not statefull; intended to mean your client gets answers (SYN-ACK) with server ip 192.168.1.195 as source, which it just drops. Then you would see in the server-tcpdump, only repeated SYN->SYN-ACKs
Could you also tcpdump on your client side ?
EDIT: Is there a reason for using sshd.socket and not sshd.service ? I've no experiences with this socket ... - maybe I'm wrong with my suggestions

Try moving the iPod right next to the router. Maybe the antenna got disconnected.

Report Column Heading Alignment - Center Not Working Correctly

I am using Apex 2.1 (XE) and now have an application with about 30 pages. I've noticed that some of my reports which have columns with a heading alignment of "center" are not always centering if they have columns that align to the left or right included before them. I looked at the generated HTML and it shows that align="LEFT" or align="RIGHT" is being generated in the source even when the column heading is set to center in the designer. It appears that if a field higher on the list says to align the column heading left or right, then that is what the following columns are going to do also if they are set to center. So column heading left and right works great, and center works only if all the columns are set to center.
My question: Is this a known bug? Is it something that can be scheduled for a fix at some point in the future?
Luckily the column data itself obeys the column alignment, so this is strictly a cosmetic problem with the column headings.

Try setting them with a css decalration. Instead of align="right" put this is in the heading attribute
style="text-align:right;" or style="text-align:left;"

Plugin is working fine with FF3.0 but it is not working with FF4.0 and above. The reason I found out is in about:config dom.ipc.enabled is set to true. This means it whitelists the plugins to run in a plugin container.
When I disabled the dom.ipc.plugins.enabled to false, I observed that plugin is working fine.
I also tested by adding a separate entry dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.plugin.so to false and changed dom.ipc.plugins.enabled back to true. still it is working fine.
This plugin is using NPAPIs.
I couldn't figure out why the plugin behavior changes when it is running as a part of FF and running as a separate process.

Several Standard functions are not working properly in CRM Web

We are working on different ABAP developments embedded on a Web environment, and we are facing some issues with different standard functions. This functions such as GUI_DOWNLOAD, GUI_UPLOAD, MS_EXCEL_OLE_STANDARD_DAT, POPUP_TO_CONFIRM which are used in the ABAP developments work fine on the GUI environment while in the WEB environment they do not work.
This functions allow us to perform files uploads and downloads in .txt format as well as in .xls format.
Some of the suggested solutions were to solve this by using BSP application or Web Dynpros.
Does this WEB tool contain any update, SAP note or any function which may replace the 4 functions mentioned above is order to solve this issue?

There are no standard functions in Web UI that replicate what these functions do in GUI. This was discussed before [here|Read file from presentation server (like GUI_UPLOAD);. As far as I know, we have to code ourselves. One way to try is published [here|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/CRMWebUI-UploadingdatafromExcelfiles].

In our client, we have work flow set up for substitutions. Manager A has specified B as his substitute for approving work flow items during his absence. I checked the table T77S0, WFLOW AUTOF is set to 'X'. I checked the table HRUS_D2, here the entry shows as

A B 03/10/2014 01/01/9999 0001 X
However B is not able to receive the workflow items of A. When I tried to forward using SWIA, then B is getting workflow items. Not sure, why the substitution is not working. User A has set up workflow substitute in SAP CRM Web UI.
Any suggestions to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.

You assigned substitution profile 0001 which is disciplinary or something like that - this substitution profile has no meaning and is only an example. try not assigning a substitution profile or use profile 'all' which contains the 'NO_CLASS' task class which is the default classification for tasks in the system.
you can see substitution definition in SAP Web Application Server → Business Management → SAP Business Workflow → Basic Settings (Organization Management) → Substitute Profile.
