Is it possible to issue write statements and an ALV on the same screen, one after the other?

No.. Is is not possible to display header in ALV using WRITE...
You have to use REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE FM for this...
Refer programs BCALV* for example.

2 Headings for ALV on same line?

I have an ALV report that outputs around 25 columns, some of this data is related to 'current part' and the last 5 columns are related to 'old part'. If possible, I would like to put both these headings on the same line above the column titles.

concatenate both two strings with sufficient space and save it in variable.
Pass this variable to optional parameter I_GRID_TITLE in REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY function module.

Column headings are missing in the output for ALV?

i have coded a small report in ALV mode. i am getting the data but the column headings are missing.
iam not getting the column headings in the output. it is coming as blank. Could you all please help me out in this?

The heading are in the table pt_fcat - you don't seem to be passing that in form....

which I guessing in in one of the includes?
Saying that the extract pof code does not show where you are calling form it_out_alv_fieldcat_before ...which populates the headings...

If you remember in one of my last post I asked for changing the column headings in ALV display for example from 'Material' to 'Material used'.
I am using

It is working well. In ALV display the column heading is changed to what I wanted. But the question is when I export the displayed ALV to Excel using ALV functionality, Export->Spreadsheet... I see that <b>I dont get the Column Heading into Excel as it was in the ALV display.</b>
I get in the Excel as 'Material u' or 'Mat. Used'. But when I add this line in the code.....
when 'Material'.

The labels have a fixed size:
seltext_l is long text: 20 char
seltext_m is medium text: 15 char
seltext_s is short text: 10 char
The text 'Material used' is long 13 char so you should write:
field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
field_wa-seltext_s = 'Mat. used'.
You can try to set the field colwidth_optimize of parameter IT_LAYOUT.
This field should optimize the width of the colunm
So
data layout type SLIS_LAYOUT_ALV.
layout-colwidth_optimize = 'X'.

i need to add coloums for the existing report which picks from G/L account.
in this report I need to add some more columns from COSP-KSTAR, which shows the cost element details from G/L account.
I need to restrict that cost element number according to the company code.
Plz see this and let me know the things.
1. I need to add FISCAL YEAR(COEP-GJAHR) in selection screen.
2. I need to add column: Employee Cost (CSKS-KOSTL)
3. add a column Staff Welfare (COSP-KSTAR) this is to restrict for the cost element 3000200 from G/L account
4. add a column Recruitment restrict for the cost element(COSP-KSTAR) 3100040 from G/L account
5. add a column Travels (suppressing some cost elements(COSP-KSTAR) and putting into Travels)
6. add a column Subcontracts restrict for the cost element (COSP-KSTAR)3100360 from G/L account
7. add a column Communication suppressing some cost elements and putting into Communication)

We can define the name of the field label as mentioned above, where texto073 is nothing but the field label you want to give to the particular field.

Header and Footer for ALV Layout
Hi All,
I have used the following code to create the Header and Footer Areas for ALV Report.
CLEAR: FS_EVENTCAT.
FS_EVENTCAT-NAME = 'TOP_OF_PAGE'.
FS_EVENTCAT-FORM = 'build_comment'.
APPEND FS_EVENTCAT TO GT_EVENTS.
CLEAR: FS_EVENTCAT.
FS_EVENTCAT-NAME = 'END_OF_LIST'.
FS_EVENTCAT-FORM = 'F_WRITE_SUMMARY'.
APPEND FS_EVENTCAT TO GT_EVENTS.
Now the space is available for both Header and Footer...
But i would like to display the Text in Header and Footer areas...
How to insert the Texts....????

F.01 Summary Report for ALV grid
Hi all,
We have defined our financial statement version (FSV). We have been running tests in transaction F.01, when we choose ALV Tree output the transaction works perfectly.
However, if we choose ALV grid output and then choose "1" in the Summary Report field (highest summary level, only main points of Balance sheet P&L statement should be displayed) the output is not summarized at all.
In short, no matter what number we put in the Summary Report field we always get the same output.
What needs to be done in order to be able to use this summarization control?
Any help will be appreciated.

Have you successfully created a summarization for ALV grid output?
I just want to know if it is worthy to devote time to it or just use classic list or ALV tree when appropiate.

I need to implement F4 help for ALV table field.
I my scenario, I am using two views. If we click on any record in fist view then it displays the popup window (second view) with relevant record details.
Here one of the columns having fieldnames corresponding values (old values), for correcting old values I have created new value editable column, we can enter new value for old value then we can save it. Till this functionality is ok.
Then I have included OVS help for new value field. Here I need to get f4 help for newvalue field relevant to fieldname.
For example: user clicks on f4 in cell (new value) then if corresponding fieldname is u2018WERKSu2019 then it shows the plant values
Here I can get fieldname, domain name and value table using method set_attribute ().
Same concept I have implemented in ALV using F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST. It is working fine
Here I have little bit confusion. Please advise me how to implement in OVS.
