Headings in personal library.

When I plug in my ipod mini (6gb) to my computer, loads of headings that I don't want appear.I have reset them by unticking them - comes back when I next plug in my ipod. I have also tried to reset by going into "view" and then options, and unticking them. Still they come back when ipod plugged back in. Help!!!!

It's a bug in iTunes 7 and onwards. It does not
"remember" the view settings for these headings.
Nothing we can do except wait for a future release
that addresses the issue.
Annoying isn't it?
I take it that they are aware of this problem? How VERY annoying!
Have you contacted Apple?

  • New PC - personal library 'greyed out'

    Evening all
Just bought a new PC and successfully transferred all my music files across from the old one. However, when I plug my i-pod in, my personal library appears in grey instead of black and I can't drag anything onto my i-pod.
This is despite the PC recognising my i-pod ID all of the files on my i-pod appearing within the generic/shared library.
One more thing, my wifes i-pod works fine when plugged in and files can be dragged across/uploaded onto her machine!
I'm guessing this has something to do with copyright between machines etc.
    Any quick fixes?
    Thanks

  • Some tabs and click-on headings are not working. They worked yesterday, and other than updating Firefox AFTER the problems, I've made no changes. Example: headings in Facebook; headings in my library website.

Some of the browser tabs and headers that are "clickable" are noe working. I click on them, and nothing happens. Part of Facebook works, but the headers do not. My library site headers, which has tabs for "Search" and "Account" as examples, do not work. Up till late yesterday, there were no problems. I did re-install Firefox this morning, and it made no difference.

The Yahoo! Toolbar extension has been reported to cause this issue.

  • I can't add movies from my personal library to iTunes?

When I try to add the file using Ctrl + O it doesn't work, and it doesn't show an error message either. The video file doesn't show up in the Home Video tab or anywhere else at all. I've changed the file so that it opens up with iTunes, but whenever I click it the same problem happens. The movie was previously downloaded from putlocker.com if that is any help
I've already updated QuickTime and iTunes.

You can only drag and drop music and videos if you have Manually manage music and vodeo checked in the Surrmary pane of the iPod in iTunes.
    Also see:
iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod
You can add the video to your move library in iTune and then appear in the Vido app on the iPod.

  • How do I transfer an album from iTunes library to a SD card?

My father wants to transfer or copy an entire album of songs from his iTunes music library saved on his Macbook Pro to an SD card. He has been able to do this with his 7 year old Dell Laptop but has not been successful with his Macbook.
The songs he's wanting to move are not purchased from the iTunes store but his own personal CD collection which he saved on his Macbook Pro. Again, he wants to know how to copy his personal library to a SD card with the ablum appearing as folder with its songs listed in order. He intends to take the songs saved on the SD card to his car and save them in the car's music player.
    Thank you for the help.

Plug the SD card into the slot in the Mac.
If it doesn't have one, several manufacturers make a SD to USB adapter that basically turns the SD card into a flash drive. They're about $4.95 at BestBuy or WalMart. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Camera-Memory-Cards-USB-Drives/Readers-Adapters/abca t0404007.c?id=abcat0404007
Provided the Finder preferences are set to show external disks on the desktop, once it's plugged in, it will appear on the desktop and the files or folders can be literally "dragged onto the icon and they'll copy to it with whatever artwork, and ID3 tags are in them.

  • How do I move a playlist from one library to another on the same computer?

I have two different libraries on the same computer (a Mac mini), one family library and my personal library. I want to move my music from the family library to my personal library, so I put it all in one playlist. I am trying to figure out how to move (or copy) this playlist with all my personal music into my personal library. I have tried copying all of the songs in that playlist and pasting in the new library but that didn't work, it just simply pasted nothing. Any ideas? The playlist is rather large (around 650 songs,) but it seems like apple could manage this without me having to make small playlists. Thanks for any help!

is this second library in a different account on the computer?

  • How can i access my itunes library in a different computer?

I have my itunes library in my laptop at home and sometimes during my spare time in the office I want to access my library or download more songs to my library. How can I do that?

your personal library is not saved to the internet, but your itunes account is, so you can download songs on different computers through your accound
also, if you want all of your itunes library on both comps, then just copy them using some kind of connection.
    And ipod works best

  • Can I import library from one account to another account?

I have a work account and a personal account and I'd love access to my photos, music, etc, in my personal library. Can I import or sync the libraries? Thanks, Steve

    let's try this again...
    account = library...
I have 2 libraries, one under username "A" (personal) and one under username "B" (work).
it doesn't matter if they're work or personal, they were just names to refer to different accounts.
I have a library...the library is on a PC. I synced with an iPad. I'm syncing with a new PC ("B" or "work") and would like the import the library from the first PC but created with a different Apple account/ID ("personal" or "work").
I hope this helps explain my question.

  • What is the best way to manage one library on two computers?

My wife and I recently bought Macbook's, switching from our previous Dell desktop. Now that we have two computers we want a way for both of us to be able to access our iTunes library from our respective computers and add music to our iPods. When I add our music into my Library and set my library to share this only seems to allow her to play the songs on her Macbook but not add them to her iPod. Adding our music to her own library raises the problem of new albums I download not appearing in her library unless she manually adds them. I would like a way we can keep all of our music in one folder (on our Time Capsule) but both be able to download music, have it show up on the other persons library, and add songs to our iPods from our own computers.

When I add our music into my Library and set my library to share this only seems to allow her to play the songs on her Macbook but not add them to her iPod.
Correct. You cannot sync an iPod to a playlist provided by iTunes Sharing. The track must be on the computer to which the iPod is being synchronized.
I would like a way we can keep all of our music in one folder (on our Time Capsule) but both be able to download music, have it show up on the other persons library, and add songs to our iPods from our own computers.
iTunes doesn't have any built-in folder watching capability, so without third-party software help, content added from one computer has to be manually added to iTunes on the other computer. Hazel says it can be set up to add content to iTunes automatically, but I haven't tried it myself.
Alternatively, you can each have your own iTunes library on your own computers and use one of the several third-party utilities to keep the libraries in sync. If that's of interest, post back and I can provide links to the utilities I know of.
    Regards.

  • Can I put songs in my library onto another library on the same computer???

I have a song on my library, and someone in my family wants it on his library ON THE SAME COMPUTER. Is there a way to put it on his library without him having to buy it for himself???
Please help me. I don't want to have to buy one for his library.

This question really is more about itunes and not about the ipod nano. Please repost this question in the correct forum that regards itunes and windows. THe correct forum is linked below.
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=800
You can try this. Does the second person have their own itunes music store account for the 2nd itunes library? What you can try doing is authorizing the purchased music from your itunes account to play on the 2nd persons library. Or it might be easy just to spend 99 cents for the 1 song.

  • I have an iPhone that was set up as a backup of another phone. I want to sync it with my current library; am afraid of losing synced contacts. Will I? Can I prevent this?

The older phone in question was a work phone that was set up by the owner and then distributed to employees for use. I have a new phone that will be for personal use that I have backed up from the work phone;mainly for the contacts. I want to sync the new phone with my personal library, and I go to do so and get the infamous "erase and sync" message. Will this erase they synced contacts if I do this? (Contacts are what are most important in this case; there is no music stored, for the backup had no music.) If it does, can I prevent this from happening without having to manually replace the contacts?

You did not restore the new iPhone.
The first time a new iPhone is connected to iTunes on a computer that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device or that was used to backup another iPhone or iOS devide, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device, or set up the new iPhone as a new iPhone.
Since the old iPhone was synced with iTunes on a different computer, all iTunes content on the new iPhone (which is none at the present time) will be erased first.
The warning message should indicate all iTunes content will be erased from the iPhone, which is iTunes content only.
If you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on this computer and the supported address book app on this computer includes any contacts, you will be provided a merge prompt for the contacts, which you want to select. Otherwise the contacts on the iPhone will be replaced with the contacts in the address book app on the computer with the first sync.

  • Can I move my library and ipod from a mac to pc?

Okay, I'm real slow when it comes to computers. I have an ipod and a personal library of about 200 cds, so I don't want to have to reload them. Currently my itunes resides on my husband's mac so my ipod is formatted for mac. I'd like to move everything to my new pc. Can this be done, and how can this be accomplished.
    TIA

There are few ways to do it in order to work for your case.
    1. Since your library is currently on a Mac computer, you can know format your iPod with a window pc, which will erase your iPod completely. Just connect your iPod with a computer and do a Restore.
    2. After 1, then connect you iPod with your Mac and do a sync -> copy the music files back to your PC
    3. Follow the instructions mentioned on the link above

  • Cannot attach PL/SQL library APPCORE... forms6i

    Hello,
I am trying to open the template.fmb form and I cannot seem to get forms to recognize the FORMS60_PATH variable in the registry.
I transferred (in binary) all the .pll files from $AU_TOP/resource to a local directory ORACLE_HOME\FORMS60\resource.
I transferred (in binary) TEMPLATE.fmb and APPSTAND.fmb to the same directory.
I set the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\FORMS60_PATH to 'C:\oracle\ora806\FORMS60\resource' (without the quotes).
I added HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\ORACLE_APPLICATION and set it to 'TRUE'
I added the FORMS60_PATH to the system variable file in windows to 'c:\oracle\ora806\FORMS60\resource'.
    I rebooted the machine.
I am still getting the same error message.
I reinstalled forms so that it was the only Oracle product on my machine.
    version (6.0.8.24.1)
I am running windows XP SP2
Can anyone tell me what I am missing? Or why I cannot get the libraries to attach?

There is a whole list of them that won't attach -
FRM-10102: Cannot attach PL/SQL library APPCORE. This library attachment will be lost if the module is saved.
FRM-10102: Cannot attach PL/SQL library APPDAYPK. This library attachment will be lost if the module is saved.

  • Can iCloud be used to synchronize a very large Aperture library across machines effectively?

Just purchased a new 27" iMac (3.5 GHz i7 with 8 GB and 3 TB fusion drive) for my home office to provide support.  Use a 15" MBPro (Retina) 90% of the time.  Have a number of Aperture libraries/files varying from 10 to 70 GB that are rapidly growing.  Have copied them to the iMac using a Thunderbolt cable starting the MBP in target mode.
While this works I can see problems keeping the files in sync.  Thought briefly of putting the files in DropBox but when I tried that with a small test file the load time was unacceptable so I can imagine it really wouldn't be practical when the files get north of 100 GB.  What about iCloud?  Doesn't appear a way to do this but wonder if that's an option.
What are the rest of you doing when you need access to very large files across multiple machines?
    David Voran

    Hi David,
    dvoran wrote:
Don't you have similar issues when the libraries exceed several thousand images? If not what's your secret to image management.
    No, I don't  .
It's an open secret: database maintenance requires steady application of naming conventions, tagging, and backing-up.  With the digitization of records, losing records by mis-filing is no longer possible.  But proper, consistent labeling is all the more important, because every database functions as its own index -- and is only as useful as the index is uniform and holds content that is meaningful.
I use one, single, personal Library.  It is my master index of every digital photo I've recorded.
I import every shoot into its own Project.
I name my Projects with a verbal identifier, a date, and a location.
I apply a metadata pre-set to all the files I import.  This metadata includes my contact inf. and my copyright.
I re-name all the files I import.  The file name includes the date, the Project's verbal identifier and location, and the original file name given by the camera that recorded the data.
I assign a location to all the Images in each Project (easy, since "Project" = shoot; I just use the "Assign Location" button on the Project Inf. dialog).
I _always_ apply a keyword specifying the genre of the picture.  The genres I use are "Still-life; Portrait; Family; Friends; People; Rural; Urban; Birds; Insects; Flowers; Flora (not Flowers); Fauna; Test Shots; and Misc."  I give myself ready access to these by assigning them to a Keyword Button Set, which shows in the Control Bar.
That's the core part.  Should be "do-able".  (Search the forum for my naming conventions, if interested.)  Or course, there is much more, but the above should allow you to find most of your Images (you have assigned when, where, why, and what genre to every Image). The additional steps include using Color Labels, Project Descriptions, keywords, and a meaningful Folder structure.  NB: set up your Library to help YOU.  For example, I don't sell stock images, and so I have no need for anyone else's keyword list.  I created my own, and use the keywords that I think I will think of when I am searching for an Image.
One thing I found very helpful was separating my "input and storage" structure from my "output" structure.  All digicam files get put in Projects by shoot, and stay there.  I use Folders and Albums to group my outputs.  This works for me because my outputs come from many inputs (my inputs and outputs have a many-to-many relationship).  What works for you will depend on what you do with the picture data you record with your cameras.  (Note that "Project" is a misleading term for the core storage group in Aperture.  In my system they are shoots, and all my Images are stored by shoot.  For each output project I have (small "p"), I create a Folder in Aperture, and put Albums, populated with the Images I need, in the Folder.  When these projects are done, I move the whole Folder into another Folder, called "Completed".)
Sorry to be windy.  I don't have time right now for concision.
    HTH,
    --Kirby.
