Headings in WAD

Hello SDN,
I have to create a web report where in I have to create seperate headings other than the normal headings which I get from BEx.
To be more precise, for ex: if I am getting KF1, KF2, KF3, KF4, KF5, KF6 from BEx I have to create a heading for ex: Section 1 for the KFs 1,2,3 and Section 2 for KFs 4,5 and 6.
Can I do this? Can some one help me in this please...

Hi Vikram,
I can suggest you one way of achieving this, but the changes has to be carried out at the Bex level.
Goto the change of the query definition and in the columns section.
Create two New selection and rename it as Section 1 and Section 2 respt.
Under the individual Sections you can select and drag whichever key figure you want as per your requirement.
The format you get will be same as you required.

WAD: Changing context menu headings

Hi
Is there any way to change the headings of the context menu menu items? On a custom template, we have disabled broadcasting but not exporting to excel. The Export to Excel function sits within the 'Broadcast and Export' context menu - I'd quite like to change this to just 'Export'.
Any ideas anyone?

Hi,
Exporting the report through Excel can be done in two ways as you said.
One is through Context menu and other one through the Button.Both does the same job.
After exporting into Excel,you can use Excel options and save it locally.

I need to add header in the WAD

Hi All,
I have a requirement of adding header in WAD/Bex,were there are 8 Columns to be displayed in the report as below
Response time Resolution Time
Min
Max
Average
SD
Min
Max
Average
SD
Were in Respone time time and Resolution time are Key figures.
Min,Max,Average,Standard Deviation(SD)are calculated Keyfigures in Bex query designer.
Now I have displayed each of these 8 columns as Min of Respone time | Max of Response time and so which needs to scroll to right a lot users wants the header to be diplayed as above example.
Can please anyone guide me on this,is it possible in WAD or Bex?

Hi Preethimanj,
We can acheive this through BEx and WAD combination.
1. We need to creat two queries with different set of CKF.. one is for Response time and other is for Resoultion time.
2. In WAD use the web item TABLE with two rows and two columns., on the first row keep the headings Response time and Resolution time then on the second row keep the two queries Response time and Resoultion time respectively. ( I think you are getting my point).
In this we can achieve this .

WAD - Table column header vertically

Hello Everyone,
Ive a requirement to display the column headings for the report output from Bottom-to-Top instead of the normal Left-to-Right. Is it possible in WAD?
Further is it possible only to apply this to only some coulms headers in the output table display, say from the nth Column onward ?
Eg: For Column 1-3 normal Left-to-Right and for column 4 onwards all in Bottom-to-Top (in the Query Designer Column 4 onwards is in the 'Columns' section).

No thats not what I was saying..
Data will all come as usual below the Column Heading, just the Text Displayed in Column heading will be Bottom to Top.
( U do this in MSExcel as: Format > Cells > Alignment > Orientation > 90 Degree)

Values in comboboxes in WAD template

Hello,
I have a question about behavior of comboboxes in WAD templates. When I use combobox in WAD template I see after expand combobox all values of relevant characteristic. Is it possible by some setting reduce values only for values which I selected in selection screen or which I receive from customer exit or from workflow.
Do you have any advices???

Hi,
I can suggest you to do some ABAP coding for the respective links of 1 characteristics to 2nd one. You probably know what the link is - you just need to put it in the code for the variables.
You can check by using various i_Steps in the customer exit.

F4 search help is not getting displayed in WAD

Hi all,
For a certain InfoObject we want to add an attribute in the F4-search help. The additional attribute does appear when executing the query in the Bex Analyzer but not on the Web. Can anyone tell me how to achieve this in WAD?

Change order of key figure is not working in Web report output (using WAD)

Hi,
We are using BI 7.0, release 701 and level 008. We are facing problem in WAD (web report output). When ever we do 'Select filter' for key figures and 'change the order' of key figures, it does not get reflected in new order. Though drag and drop of key figures is working.
Though same change order is working fine in Bex Analyser.
Kindly suggest some inputs.

Print button on WAD template

Hi,
Presently we are in BW 3.5 version with support pack 22. We enhanced the html code based on ' How to ... Web printing with MS Excel' document. We imported the transport file which contains package and ABAP Classes.
After click on the print button on Web report, it was giving the same result area in the same page instead of giving the excel open or save options.
How to debug the enhanced html code in the WAD template? How to check the ABAP class('ZCL_RSR_XLS_HELP_WINDOW_PRINT') which i used in the
code?
Or is there any way to print the result area of Web report?
Please help me.

How to use one WAD template for all the available queries

Hi,
I have created a WAD template... Now we have close to 25 queries which will use that template for displaying their output at Portal...
Is there any way that i don`t have to create multiple copies of my WAD template...
I.e. all queries would call that same template through portal...

The Bex report uses the Standard Template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN while it is executed.
So if your sure that the look and feel of all the Reports is going to remain same, you don't need to even attach all these Queries to Templates in WAD.
When you execute the BEx query, it would pick up the standard template and run it in portal.
But if you want to customize the Report Template:
1) You can change this standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and customize it according to ur requrement in WAD.
2) Or you can create a copy of this standard template and change it as required. Then change the template in spro (transaction RSCUSTV27) to point to this Z template.

You need to first create a Data Provider, say DP1, on either an InfoProvider/Query/QueryView to be able to bind it to any webitem in a WAD template. Once created, assign DP1 to ANALYSIS_ITEM_1 under Data Binding properties.

Error while generating PDF in portal but not in WAD

Hi,
When I execute the command to export to pdf, I have a screen to fill settings of my pdf, then I valid my choice and I have this message : "Error while generating PDF" in my portal.
However, when I want to execute on Web Application Designer and click on my command "export to pdf", I have a same screen and I can open or save my document.
Is someone have an idea : why it is possible to generate my pdf on WAD but not in my portal ??

Can no longer read text on browser itself--tabs, headings, etc.--after updating to v 4. How can I enlarge these fonts?

I just updated to Firefox 4.0. I made NO changes to existing settings. After updating, font size of BROWSER headings, tabs, etc. appear so small that I am barely able to read them. (Note that I am NOT talking about font size on web pages--just on browser itself. ) Have used firefox for years--don't want to give it up--but will have to if can't find a solution for this.

I don't know where it is going to look. As I did all the Orthoptera, haing to go to the source of every page, andchanging the links to the moths to the Orthoptera, I had to do the same with other Oders. Now I am on the Diptera, and went to the previously created Orthoptera gallery and changed the text and link from Orthoptera to Diptera. But it still shows text and link, moth, instead. So I continue to have to go to each pages source coded and change individually.
Here is what I don't understand. When I go to the folder that is at C://program files/adobe/adobe photoshop cs4 (64 bit)/presets/web photo gallery, the renamed, copied and modified folder, Diptera is there, and come up in the choices of templates. But the text and link modifications don't occur when the gallery is run. Where could it be going to get the moth stuff, when it goes to this folder for the template?
What you said about the 64 bit makes sense, but I don't know where it could be going to create the gallery when the folder named Diptera is ther.

How to change the size of the web item text in WAD 7.0

Dear All
I am quite new to WAD and I am having a problem with changing the font size of a web text item
I have searched already and someone suggested changing the Design property to HEADER1 or HEADER2 etc and then I should be able to change the font / size.
I have done this but to no avail
I want to have large heading across the top of the web template
am I using the wrong web item ?
I know I can key the text directly into the web template and change the font from the menu bar but I need it in an item as I want to export them through to PDF later
Would be grateful of any help

On the information you have supplied this has opened up yet another new part of WAD that I have not experienced ...TAGs
Shubhranshu - I have done what you said but as I have never used tags I have just had a look around and found that I can insert Any Tag but not sure if I should be doing that. If it is inert any tag , I chose FONT from the drop down and cbmAttributes defaulted into the custom tab for the class name but not sure what it wants in the Attributes and CSS Style tab, it won't accept what I am putting which is leading me to believe that I shouldn't be doing it that way.
Venkat - thanks for the links they will prove very useful. I've had a look and although they talk alot about the XHTML code for tags they don't actually say how you do it in the editor - I would like to produce one that way first and then see the code it generates for it. I'm a bit apprehensive with changing the code direct as I don't want to mess anything up.

Headings not saved correctly. Difficult to fix.

I opened a saved draft. When the file was saved, all headings were styled Futura LT Medium. When I opened the file, they had all changed to Lucida Grande in the document, though the styles themselves are still Futura LT Medium.
Further, I tried to correct it three different ways.
Select all uses of <style>, Revert to Defined Style
Failed because: Revert to Defined Style is greyed out when all uses are selected but works on individual headings.
Select all uses of <style>, use font drop-down to specify correct font
Failed because: font drop-down has no reflect (after selecting a font, it still displays empty and no fonts change).
Select one heading at a time, Revert to Defined Style
This works, but it's immensely time consuming. This is a 13 page report with many headings.
Eventually, after fixing a couple headings and wanting to be sure that I can save and reopen it without it reverting these changes, I used "Save a Version" and then quit Pages entirely. I reopened the document. The headings all appear to have spontaneously fixed themselves, but when selected the style shows a red triangle down arrow and can be Reverted even though this doesn't appear to change the heading in any way. So somehow Pages has corrected the headings but still thinks they deviate from the style.
What on earth is going on? Is this some kind of Pages/OS X Lion bug? Any advice or work-arounds?
Edit: Corrected second to last paragraph because it was not accurate.

Sounds to me like you have altered the template but haven't captured the changes to the master pages.
When you are inserting new sections they are coming from the original master pages with the old style.e

"Validity of data" in WAD

I made a web report in the WAD containing a query in a table item.
What I would like to display is "Validity of data" (as date/time) which I see when I display the query on the web from BEx with the default view.
How do I display that?
