Headphone jack/hookup to stereo problem with existing jack??

Is it just me, or is the jack port different for the iPhone? Went to use it in my boat today where no less than 3 other ipods have been plugged in..... the jack won't go all the way into the hole. The iphone jack requires a skinny little plug to slip past the phone case.
Let me guess... have to buy a special iPhone headphone out to RCA cable?

I noticed the same problem, and bought a Belkin adapter. Unfortunately, the Belkin adapter is long and sticks out of the jack like a huge grey antenna. However, I discovered another solution to the problem from another forum. If you buy an Apple iPod shuffle sport case, it comes with an adapter that deals with this issue. It's more of an extension cord design that was made because the case design prevented headphones from seating all the way into the headphone jack on the shuffle. Here's a link with a pic and further explanation: http://www.penmachine.com/2007/07/this-adapter-from-sport-case-for
The case that includes the adapter costs $29 at the apple store. However, I was able to get one on eBay for $4, including shipping. There seemed to be quite a few available too. Finally, Griffin has created an adapter that looks like the same design, but it isn't available for purchase yet. Unlike the sport case adapter, which comes only in white, Griffin's will be available in black or white.

  • My daughters ipod only plays out of one side on her headphones.  Is there a problem with the ipod?

My daughters ipod only plays out of one side on her headphones.  I've tried other headphones.  Is there a problem with her ipod?

First make sure the headphones are plugged in all the way in (it takes a bit of force to get the solid click sound) and sound balance is set in the middle. Second, test the headphones on another device to see if they operate correctly and test the iPod with the original Apple earphones that came with the iPod to see if it works correctly. Lastly, if you are using third-party headphones, make sure that their plug is iPod compatible.

  • External Speaker Static: Problem with audio jack?

I don't believe that anyone on the forums had the same question.
I am having trouble with my macbook pro.  Whenever I plug in external speakers, I get bad static (very loud, about as loud as the speaker's audio itself).  I have tested this on multiple speakers and get the same results on all of them.  When used on another computer, the speakers work fine.  This suggests that it is something wrong with my audio jack for my mac.
I noticed that the 3.5 mm plug doesn't go all the way into the jack.  There is about a millimeter millimeter or two of space This isn't much, but may be resulting in the static.  I have tried forcing the plug all the way in, but it still does not go in.  Any ideas?
I am trying to avoid having to get a bluetooth speaker or anything wireless.

Headphones don't induce grounding problems like external speakers. I am guessing the external speakers were all amplified speakers, with built-in amps and some sort of mains power supply. Perhaps you also have some peripherals such as a display connected to the Macbook Pro.
Try this: disconnect all peripherals from the MBP (including the Magsafe power plug) except the external speakers and see if you get static. I will also guess that the static is more of a whine/buzz that changes whenever the computer does something different.
If this works, then you have a common ground problem. The cheapest way to solve this is a Radio Shack ground loop isolator on the speaker cable,

High fidelity versions are also available, more like $300USD.

  • Problem with hearphone jack

When il put the jack of headphone on the ipod, it doesn't stay at her place. It retreat of the hole. I have my iPod since one year and it's the first time I have this problem. Please help me I don't understand what is the problem.

    - Have you troed another pair of earphones?
    - If earphones that work in other devices do not work in yours then your have a hardware problem with yur iPOd.  The headphne jacks do go bad sometimes..
    - Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
    - A third-party place like this is probably less expensive.

  • Having problems with audio jacks, connections are shorting. i need an alternative solution for mixing in logic

i am having problems with mac pros audio jacks, any alternative solutions ?

If you're mixing in Logic, buy a FireWire audio interface. So many people make them, that it isn't funny. Personally, I'm a fan of M-Audio interfaces for a cheap, high quality device.
Here's some FireWire interfaces, they also make USB products.

  • Problem with Microphone Jack on Advanced Dock with T61p

When I plug a microphone into either the microphone jack on the T61p or on
the advanced dock, I can set the playback volume and use playback functions
as expected.  However, when I try to use record functions, only the microphone
jack on the T61p works.  I get nothing when the microphone is plugged into
the advanced dock.  Is there some setting one must do to get record functions
to work with the advanced dock microphone jack and not just the T61p????

I finally solved this by going back to an older set of SoundMAX drivers found in this thread:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=T_Series_Thinkpads&message.id=24566&query.id=180...
The older driver solves this problem!
    I can't believe Lenovo hasn't fixed this!

  • Problems with existing stock and batch management indicator

    Hi,
We would like to set the batch management indicator for a material.
However, there is stock on the material for the given plant.
The different stock categories for the plant/material combination are as follows (according to transaction MMBE):
    Unrestricted use 150
    Reserved (for production ordeers) 42
Open order qty (incoming PO) 100
"When I try to set the batch management indicator in MM02 I receive the following error message:
    Material Master Maintenance
    The batch management requirement cannot
be changed for the following reasons:
Stocks already exist at plant level.
      Plant SLoc
       PL01 SL01
       PL01 SL02"
Can someone please guide me in how to remove the stock and the reservations, so that we can set the batch management indicator? Does the reservations of stock have any impact (there are reservations for 5 different production orders for this material)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Lars

in plant A, you have to add 21 in current period (e.g. with 202 movement), then you issue 171 in previous period. with 201. Result: both periods are zero.
plant B, just issue 17 in previous period with 201.
for Plant A   171 with movement 202 back into stock with previous period date, and subsequently 21 goods issue using 201 in current period.
for plant B: 17 with movement 202 and previous period date.

  • Problem with ethernet jack, works fine wirelessley

I just moved into a new place that has ethernet jacks in each room. I happened to have one right behind the tv stand where the Apple TV is. If I plug the Apple TV into the ethernet jack it disappears out of iTunes.
If I unplug it and it uses the wireless AEBS Extreme network all works well as far as connecting, but since my place has metal studs the wireless connection has a little too much noise for the best connection, that's why I thought the ethernet jack would be better.
I know the ethernet jack works fine, I tested it with my MacBook Pro and it works perfectly fine with the ethernet jack.
Any suggestions on how to use the ethernet jack and keep Apple TV displayed as a device in iTunes?

Sounds like you have determined the ethernet jack is physically good.
Are you using fixed IP addresses or DHCP? If you don't use DHCP you may have to enter your IP address, subnet mask, router, and DNS addresses via the settings of AppleTV..

  • Problem with audio jack iPad 4

Yo, i'm from México, last year (March 4 2013) My mom gave me an iPad 4 has a birthday present from march to august anything was cool.
But on august i was on the school and i just unplugged my headphones, then 1 hour later i plugged them and only one headphone was working, i told to a friend of mine if i can test them on his phone and they were working, then i tried plugging any ear/headphones in my iPad 4 and still just working Left one.
What do i do? i tried looking for the jack here on mexico and it's just unavailable, just for iPad 3.
    There's any solution?
    Thanks for reading.

Make sure you are plugging them in all the way.
If you have a case, make sure the case is not blocking the port.
Inspect the port, make sure it is free of lint or any debris.
Try getting some compressed air and blowing out the port.

  • ITunes problems with existing Music Library

Can someone please advise why since downloading the latest iTunes SW I now have 83 songs (at least two of these songs were purchased directly from the Apple on-line store) in my PC Music Library that cannot be ported to my iPOD.
I have tried to Authorise my PC with the Apple Server at least a dozen times now and each time it say's it OK yet I still have the problem highlighted above.
I am getting so annoyed that Apple can stop me listening to MY OWN music that I am toying with idea of dummping my iPOD and moving to a more Customer friendly MP3 device.
    Rgds, John...

I actually had about 5 on my Mac do the same - also purchased software from the Apple Store.
I managed to get them recognized properly by deleting them from the iTunes library (but not trashing the files) and then re-importing them in to iTunes, it seems to be related to the update process when 7.1 first loads.
