Headphone jack on zen micro isnt work

You cant hear it unless i hold the head phone cord it in a certain position, anything i can do to fix it's or do i need to send it in?

You will have to send in. I sent mine in 2 weeks ago and received it back yesterday. Good turn around time and best of all I received another battery and earbuds back.

• Problem with headphone jack on zen micro and customer support hel

I have had a zen micro for about a month now and i am very pleased with my purchase. BUT a few days ago the sound suddenly changed whilst i was listening to it. i found out it was a faulty headphone jack. i emailed customer support to arrange a replacement and the replied asking to send back information about my player then they would send me a returns number.i did that and im still waiting for the returns number 3 days later!
i was wondering if anyone else is experienceing the same problem as me and how long it takes for customer support to send you a returns number?
im afraid i will eventualy get a relpacement and the same thing will happen again. anyone got any advice on how to avoid the problem?Message Edited by alexkelly on 02-02-2005 09:0 PM

This happened to me as well after about a week. Like most portable devices I think the headphone jack is one of the weak points and can be easily jarred from its solder joints. I am taking extra care with the replacement Creative sent and I expect that it will not happen again.
As far as getting the replacement, I would recommend calling Customer Support directly and explain what the problem is and they should give you an RMA over the phone. Be sure to have the player in front of you as they will need the serial number that is on it. I was very impressed with the speed of service as well. I called them Monday morning, sent my Micro back after the phone call (I used Priority Insured Mail, be sure to insure it whatever you use) and they sent me a replacement that arri'ved the following Tuesday, just 8 days which I have only had one other company beat as far as service ever. Also be sure to backup everything on your Micro before sending it as you will probably not receive the same one back and I believe they format them on the way in the door for various reasons. Also they will tell you only send the the player back, keep all the accessories as you will only get a player sent back to you. Good luck!

• Same headphone problem with Zen Micro Pho

I had 2 Zen Micros before. They both had the headphone where you can't hear anything unless you move it in the right position. My second Micro took a while to break and I cashed in my rebate at Best Buy.
I got the new Micro Photo since they ran out of regular ones. Do you think I should get the rebate? Does the Micro Photo have headphone jack problems too?

So far mine doesn't and i've not heard news that the ZMP is suffering the same headphone jack issue as the Micro.
Yep, there has been no known headphone jack problem involving the MicroPhoto on this forum, and this should be compared to new threads every week concerning the original Micro as well as the old 00-pages discussion thread. More people have supposedly bought the original and it has existed for a longer time, but the ZMP has been out for over 6 months in the US and fo quite a while in Europe, well beyond the time it takes for many Micro users to discover this problem (my first broke after two days...). Considering this, I'll presume it has been fixed with the ZMP.

• Headphone Problem and Zen Micro

hi,
Before I start, I already know that the problem I am having is not related directly to the headphones themselves.
My problem is that i have gone through two different headphones, and both of them (different brands) the sound has completely died in the left ear, while the right channel works perfectly. They both have broken after the same time period of having them, which is around 3-4 months. I dont think i am abusing my headphones, but i do take my headphones out of the socket about once a day to connect the zen to my stereo system hookup (which sounds beautifully and comes out of both channels). I think that kind of use shouldnt break the headphones, and also if i were actually be abusing them that both channels would go dead. I have found no other problems like this skimming in the fourums, but if this has happened to you, i would like to know if it is the zen or the headphones.
Any help would be really greatly appreciated.

• Headphone jack on Zen To

The headphonejack for my zen touch has moved out of line so i am unable to hear stereo sound through my headphones now (it only comes out of one ear piece.) The warrenty has ran out so i am left tring to find a way to fix it. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there anywhere you can send or take yhe Zen Touch to get it repaired. Cheers Aaron

i recently got my micro replaced at best buy after it had the headphone jack issue, and my new one is having the same problem. I'm pretty sure best buy gyped me though because they gave me a micro that was sitting out on a table like it was used or something. Since this was within the last 3 months am i able to mail my micro in to creative to get one of the new, hopefully fixed, ones for free? It's soooo frustrating because i love the micro but the stupid head phone jack just makes me want to strangle it.

The headphone jack on my MacBook Pro is not working properly.
When I plug in my earbuds or headphones only one side of the headphone or earbud is working and the other side is "muted".
I am certain the problem are not my earbuds or headphones because I use them with other devices and they work just fine.
Can someone help me how to fix it?

• Headphone jack and USB's not working.

Hi
I bought a 17.3" Envy 2 months ago. Up until today I have not had to use the headphone jack or either of the USB's on the right hand side of the laptop, however when i've come to use my turtle beaches today, they do not work.
The USB slots also do not work with my mouse which works on the two slots on the left hand side of the laptop, and my earphones or sennheiser headphones do not work in the jack either.
What can you advise?
Thanks
Tom

Hi @Tom30191
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are having trouble with some usb ports and your audio jack. I am happy to help with this.
I would start by refreshing/reinstalling the chipset drivers, for your notebook, and you may also want to try updating the BIOS from the same page, and see if it helps.

• ZEN Micro only works as removable d

I have a ZEN micro.
I completed a frimware upgrade yesterday. Since the very moment this upgrade was finished, it stopped working as an MP3 player, and only works as a removable disk.
Windows Explorer does not read it, at least I turn the "removable disk" feature on. I can find no way to store music in the library.
Would someone please help me?
Thanks!

Janshark,
Which firmware did you downloaded? Does the device manager shows any error when the player is connected? I wouldn't suggest using the reload OS option in recovery yet if the player isn't detected by the computer in the first place.

• Different headphone jack problem: zen mi

Hello,?I have read the topics about the headphone jack problem. And i followed the fix. It did not work. The topics describe thwt one half of the headphone doesnot work: left or right. This is not my problem. The headphone gives a very low volume, and bad quality sound,? untill i twist the headphone long enough... its not the headphone thats broke, i tried different ones. Anyone had this before, or knows what could be wrong? Thanks.

I've got the same problem, it developed about 4 months after I purchased the player. At first I just ignored it and proped it against something to keep some pressure on the jack, but now its way to bothersome. The warrenty is void and the tech support people only say that they can fix it for me or help me fix it if I pay a butt-load of money.....
So the question is, what to do about it's

• Creative Zen Micro dont work!

hello,
I have for some month the Creative Zen Micro and I enjoyed it.
But a week ago, suddenly its stop working, its showing "CREATIVE" and sometimes I successed to enter a RECOVER MODE, I choosed every option from the menu and its didn't recoverd.
WHAT TO DO?!?!:manmad:

Popo,
If none of the options in Recovery Mode help, then it's likely there's a problem with the player. If you can get it to be recognised on the PC, try loading a firmware update onto it. Otherwise I would recommend you contact Customer Support, as you may need to get the player replaced.

• Headphone Jack Borked - Right Channel Not Working

I have an iPod Classic 120GB which was a Christmas present from my boyfriend, and have looked after it like a small, particularly delicate endangered animal since I got it (this makes the iPod less than 4 months old, if that). Yesterday morning, the headphone jack decided to stop working; sound only goes to the left channel while the right is silent. I originally thought it was a problem with my headphone contacts, but after testing my headphones on my iMac (both channels working) and testing the white Apple earphones on my iPod (left channel only; right channel silent) I am lead to believe that the headphone jack on my iPod is borked. I do not have the receipt for my iPod as it was a gift, but it is less than a few months old, and has sustained no damage other than surface scratches and a few greasy fingermarks (which I wipe off religiously with a dry cloth every evening). It has not been dropped or otherwise manhandled (after my cat, my iMac and iPod are my babies, seriously.) *If I take it to the Apple shop in town, will they fix the headphone jack for me?* I do not have the expertise to open the iPod up and replace the headphone jack myself, nor do I want to void the iPod's warranty just yet (I'm saving the third-party software until the year is up.)
Merci d'avance.

Make a Genius Bar appointment and take it to the Apple Store. They should exchange it with no problem.

• Help needed getting Zen Micro to work on new

Hi there, I am having a tough time getting my new PC to interact with my Zen Micro
I have installed all the required software, I have done all the updates (or at least I think I have)
I have upgraded my firmware to ver. ..0 and yet i still have the problem.
The organiser seems to see the files in the player, but it cannot transfer them to the PC (or the PC to the Player). I cannot seem to access the player while it is connected either.
So in short, I cannot transfer any of my music to my PC (4Gb worth).
I have sent support requests, and I got an auto response to upgrade all the software versions, and the firmware, which I did. I have gone through the auto-detection process on the Creative site, and it recognises my player, and its newly updated firmware version, and only gives me recommended update options, nothing essential, or critical.
So I'm pretty much stuck. also, how do i know that firmware ver. ..0 is the most updated for my product, as the support mail seems to talk about ver. 2.xx.xx which I'm nervous to start downloading as my player is now over a year old, and i fear that it may not support the newest technologies.
Any help would be greatyl appreciated
Thanks in advance
Sparky
P.S. I am still running my old family PC (Windows 98, with all the creative software original purchase versions running), and when I connect my Zen to this machine it works fine, so I guess that means that the files are not corrupted thankfully

For the Zen Xtra right?
I went to and chose MP3 Players > Zen (Hard Disk Dri've/MicroDri've) > Zen Xtra, then Get Files.
The driver was listed there, but you want to download:
Jukebox Driver version .26.02

Creative MediaSource Software Update version 2.03.29

NOMAD JukeBox Type 2 Version .0.03 (English) Web Release

Creative NOMAD Explorer (Version 3.0.0) (if you want to use Nomad Explorer)

You then want to:
install the driver

turn the Xtra on and connect to the PC and let the driver install (should be automatic)

with the Zen still connected to the PC install MediaSource (it needs a Creative product present to validate the install)

install the Nomad Jukebox Type 2 version (this is required to get MediaSoruce to work with the player)

If you want, install Nomad Explorer

That's all you should need to do.
