Headphone sound only when changing level or balance

Hi,
I have a weird problem with my Logitech B530 USB headset.
I have configured it as the main input and output device in system settings, but I only hear sounds when changing sound level or balance. So if I e.g. start some music in iTunes I hear nothing, if I then increase/decrease the volume I hear the song, but the sound quickly fades away and there is no sound again. The same thing happens if I change the device balance.
Has anyone experienced anything similar and/or have any idea how to fix this?

= Yes it came pre-installed,? it's an x-fi xtreme music, is there any other way to find the exact model? Im pretty sure my card is upside down so It would? be impossible to read the serial number which is on the bottom. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue at all, it seems to be a software [email protected]

I have a 5th generation 8GB iPod nano. I bout it off of eBay in May of 2010 and it has worked great until now (Apr 2011). The 5th gen plays music through the headphone jack even when no ear buds are plugged in. I was using it one day and it just stopped. I tried resetting it manually and automatically and I tried reinstalling iTunes. Nothing has worked. Now it won't even play sound though the ear buds (or the aux hook up in my car), only when it is docked to my iHome. Does anyone have any suggestions? I dont want to replace the iPod or any parts inside if at all possible. ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOMED! THANKS!

Headphone jacks are only good for so many in and out usages. Usually its the headphone jack itsefl that goes bad first but sometimes it is the internal part. If you are lucky you can clean out the inside and get it to work.
These devices are not made to last for someone who actually has those headphones around there neck and acually uses there listening devices through out the day plugging it in and out. This is not in any way an Apple thing, it is a problem with many devices. The male ends tend to get dirty hanging around then scratch the female end when used. In fact, using higher end headphones you can really notice even the smallest particles of dust on the male end of plug when used, that is the small popping you might notice when the cord moves.
Hopefully its a problem on the male side of things.
I would recommend a person that wants to use headphones alot to keep a small 2 inch extension plugged into there device that can be replaced when it goes bad inplace of wearing out the original plug.
Again, this is not an Apple problem alone.

Sound disappears when changing speaker config

Hello all, I currently have a bit of an annoying issue when using my x-fi titanium card in vista 64 bit.
When I goto change my speaker config from headphones to 5.1 or vice versa, the sound from the running apps disappears
and I have to restart the applications for sound to come back. For example I am playing a song in winamp, i change speaker config
from 5.1 to headphones, sound gone, close winamp and reopen sound is back. Same thing goes for my games.
Any possible solutions to this thanks.

The only thing I don't like about the iPhone headset solution is that the earplugs are uncomfortable, and keep falling out. I basically don't like things stuck in my ear. So I am thinking of buying an actual over-the-ears headset to plug in to the headset port.
A couple of questions:
- Is there any reason at all to go USB headset instead? It seems like a waste of a USB port since there is a headset jack.
- Is there any way of switching the output sound back to the speakers while the headset is plugged in? Or do I have to physically unplug it each time it is not in use for a Skype call (which is the only time I would use it)?

Headphones sound weird when plugged into iPod

So i was listening to my ipod one day, and all of a sudden when a song came, the vocals sounds really low. I tried the headphones on my computer, and through the stero, and even on another iPod, and they sounded fine. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Could it be some kind of problem in the iPod itself that makes it sound differen? It plays and sounds fine when i play it from the sound stage i have. Can someone please help me?

I'm having the same exact problem. Please call Apple Tech Support to report this. When I talked to them, they told me that only one other person had posted about this on their boards.

IPad3 stopped some sounds only when muted

For some reason, my new iPad stopped working for sounds only on some video playback, others work. alarm app doesn't work. This is with sounds muted, which is how I have always used. This is a recent change. Some video will start with a blurb of sound, then go quiet

Try Googling about your problem, if no solution comes up go to the Genius bar if you're residing in the US. If you aren't in the US go to the nearest Apple Store.

Popping sound soundbar when changing channels

I recently purchased a soundbar to go with my HDTV set. Experience popping when changing channels or when changing settings in the DVR. Manufacturer of the soundbar says that I must match the STB (Motorola 7232) audio settings with the TV's which is Force or LPCM and turn off Dolby Digital. However, I cannot find these settings.
Take the soundbar out of the mix and the TV does not experience any popping. This tells me that this cannot be the STB but the manufacturer says it is. Any help with audio on FiOS TV would be greatly appreciated.

Let us know if you find the menu. The tricky thing is that you have to power it off from the front display and then do ok menu using the remote. It took ne a couple times to get there with the new box. Best of luck.

Splitter to get both speaker & headphones-sound only out of one earphone MSI K8N Neo4 SB L

I've read the threads on this subject, but am unable to get simultaneous sound through use of a stereo splitter from line out of the computer. With the speaker unplugged from the splitter, headphones work okay with sound from both sides. When I plug in the speaker to the other side of the splitter, the speakers play, but I only get sound out of one side of the headphones.
I have a volume control on both the speakers and the headphones, so I'd like to be able to switch back & forth using the volume controls. I have a headphone jack on the speaker volume control and on each speaker, but it's kind of awkward to keep plugging and unplugger plus I'd have to get an extension cable to plug in the microphone part of the headset..
This arrangement does work on the Pentium 400, so I get the feeling Soundblaster Li've integrated on my MSI mobo has circuitry to not allow this. I tried the EAX surroundsound setting checked, but that didn't work. Anyone figure out how to do this?

The splitter I used was the one I used on my Pentium 400 which allowed both speakers and headphones to work. I also checked it with an ohmeter, and both double contacts work. My splitter female ends are colored one red and one black, but each seems to be full stereo. I have another similar splitter with both ends black, but it behaves the same way
I'll try writing Creative tech support, but I think there's something in the sb circuitry to not allow splitting of the signal.

Loss of sound effect when changing volume.

I have just purchased a Macbook Pro and everything was going well until I noticed that when I changed the volume using the F11 and F12 keys, the sound effect would no longer be produced. I have been through Sounds in System Preferences and checked all the settings are correct, even the 'play feedback when volume is changed' option is checked. All I have been doing so far is using iTunes and using the internet. I also loaded djay but I don't think this would have anything to do with it. Please help.

iCloud only keeps photo stream photos for 30 days, even though up to 1000 photos will remain on your devices until deleted. When you re-enabled photo stream you only received photo stream photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud.
To change your iCloud ID, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
However, to avoid losing photo stream photos, before deleting the account save them to your camera roll (if not already there). To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll. Be sure to do this on your other devices first.
To get the missing photos back on your iPod, create a shared photo stream that includes them on one of your other devices and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99).

Audigy 2 ZS - Stereo Sound Only When Testing Speaker Setti

I am running Windows XP SP2 and have a Logitech Z-5500 hooked up through a co-ax connection. I had?no sound problems until I?ran Creative Auto Update and updated the recommended software (Creative Media Source Player 5.0.38 and driver version 5.2.4.96) yesterday. While I am still able to hear?5. channel DVD's through all my speakers, when I run the Creative Speaker settings software, I only hear sound from my front left and right speakers.
I only get sound through the centre channel when watching TV, which?echoes. ?I tried running system restore to get back to my previous drivers, but the system was unable to restore itself. Any help would be appreciated.

Forgot to add, all of my speakers are in working order, I have individually tested them. I have set my 7.1 system up before in my old apartment, it's just not working this time. Thanks again.

MBP Retina headphones sounds only on the left

MG... this is the third problems I'm having with my MBP retina.
This time I can barely listen to music, using the headphones, from the right side.

Strange hi pitch noise thru headphones button only when moving the mouse!?

So i'm sitting there with a pair of sony headphones working on my intel imac and I notice a high pitch (but very quiet) noise.
Eventually I work out that it only happens when I move my mouse.
Does this happen to anyone else?

Sound only when "Solo'ed)

Hey. I'm finding GB very frustrating. I've been doing this for years w/Cakewalk but...anyway...I have many questions but the immediate frustration is: NO sound in my project unless I "SOLO" every track. I got very nervous & tried another song (project) and that one worked!! Any solutions? The next question will be "Can't you "mixdown" 2 or more tracks to 1? You must be able to....and that goes along with "Can't you layer recordings on a single track? instead of replacing what's already there? I'll settle for an answer to my 1st question. Thanks so much guys.....

that is the only way I've seen this issue manifest itself. i would try creating several real and software tracks, and toggling the solo buttons, just for kicks.
also, though it does not fit what you have described, try toggling the Ducking menuItem

Notification sounds only when I get email from address book contacts

I am getting constant sound notifications whenever I get email but very few emails really require instant attention. I do not want to hear a sound when I get an email, except when the sender is one of my contacts. What settings do I need to make this happen? Thanks.

Sound only when Importing QT

Hi there,
I have tried to import a QT clip that was done with FCP7, it opens and plays fine on my desktop but when I import it either via import or by dropping into FCPX, I end up with just the sound, Can anyone assist me please.

What codec is it? There is an issue with oder QT files from legacy which were created in the QT framework, as opposed to FCP X which now creates/uses them with the AV Framwork.
Use QT Player or Compressor to transcode to ProRes 422.

Table update visible only when changing table selection

I'm running java 1.6.0_07 on Linux and I'm experiencing a strange problem: I've got a table model that extends AbstractTableModel and when I selectes a row and then change such row data (thru the setData() and fireTableDataChanged() methods) I don't see the row update. If I reclick on the row or select another row in the table, the table refreshes and I can see the row updated. Is it a problem of the Java version or what? Should I change my code and force a table update in any way? Any suggestion?
