Headphone Sound Quality

Macbook Pro Headpone output support 24bit 192KHz music  ? When I play HD Audio CD in macbook pro.

192KHz is far, far above the frequency range that human ears can hear (20Hz-20KHz, though the high end falls off to 10-14KHz as we age).

  • Poor headphone sound quality w/ bluetooth

I connected my Motorola S805 headphones using bluetooth in my Mac but the sound quality is pretty bad (yes I am using the Headphone setting and not Headset)...there is a low hissing sound, the quality of sound is extremely poor (the headphones themselves have excellent sound quality when attaching them to my Ipod jabra connector) and they cut in and out constantly. Is this because my keyboard and mighty mouse are connected using bluetooth as well? Is there some sort of bandwith limitation? Any new drivers I need to know about. This is ridiculous......

I am bumping this post because I want to set up a wireless bluetooth workstation for my MBP- keyboard, mouse and headphones. I don't hear a lot of people talking about this type of setup. I would primarily be using the setup for gaming.
Did you get your headphones to work properly?

  • N96 to n86 headphone sound quality

    Hi,
Im upgrading from my n96 to a n86 and would like to know about the headphone quality from the n86 as the sound quality from my n96 i thought was exellent. I use the phones music player everyday around 2 hours on my daily commute so this is a major feature for me.
    Thanks

    Try reset all settings

Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

  • New headphone sound quality?

Just curious if anyone can comment on the new headphones? 18-month design? they better represent better sound quality if it took them that long.
so how is the new sound quality?

The supplied ear buds are terrible.
They sound bad & buzz at high volumes.
If you really care about getting the best out of your ipod, then spend a little bit of cash on some decent Sennheiser mx5oo or px100's.
30 pounds in the UK & worth every penny.

  • Headphone sound quality extremely poor, why?

Had dust in the head phone socket, cleared this out and now the sound is extremely poor quality. Is the socket damaged beyond repair?

I've tried that, and numerous headphones in the iphone. It's definitely the phone.
    Thanks anyway

  • Having trouble with sound quality

I have had this iPod Touch 2nd Generation for almost 2 years now, and I'm starting to have some troubles with it. The headphone sound quality is now starting to deteriorate. Unless the headphones are plugged in a specific way, either one bud goes out, or the sound quality goes down, as there is a lot of static and crackling, and I've had experiences with it actually shocking my ears while I'm listening.
I have tried a new pair of headphones, and this does nothing.
My iPod is obviously beyond the manufacturer's warranty, and it's up-to-date with the latest update. Is there anything I can do?

Sounds like your headphone jack may need replacing.

  • Not the Average "sound quality" post

I import using Apple losless converter. I am aware of the general manufacturing specs that allow my speakers to sound like Rice Crispies, (which is generally lame.) This being said, I move forward to my point.
All of my low end frequencies distort, but NOT just through my speakers. It is extremely noticable even when using high grade head phones, so what's the deal here? I get the same distortion but to a lesser degree when I export to my Ipod nano, using high end head phones, which do not distort, on the nano as well. I have a 60 gb Ipod video which is formated for windows that has the same CD's imported at the same time (i.e. ruling out disc failure) which does not suffer sound degradation. Please help!

  • Very poor sound quality on bluetooth headphones through HP Envy 700-074 desktop

I recently purchased a pair of Bose AE2W wireless bluetooth headphones to use with my HP Envy 700-074 desktop computer. After successfully pairing the headphones the sound quality is extremely poor. I know the headphones are not the pronblem since they sound beautiful when paired with my iPhone or iPad.
I have tried updating the driver, but I have the most current version installed according to the computer. Adjustment of the Beats Audio controls or any other sound controls does not help.

  • Z1 Compact headphone low sound quality

hello , after i upgraded to loliop i started to have problems with my headphones MH750 , the sound quality became variant und bad , i have tried to change the clear audio+ and dynamic normaliser but not much to mention , any solutions ? thanx in advanced

I have the same issue with audio output on my z1. It is completely random, sometimes the bass will be almost non existent until i restart the walkman app a few times until the bass is there. Sometimes channeling through the headphone types will bring the bass back in, sometimes not. It's a complete pain and unpredictable.

  • Greatly decreased sound quality in headphones/computer speakers

    I'm using a dm4 notebook with Win 7 64-bit OS.
The trouble is that the sound coming through my headphones has reduced in quality, sounds quite tinny.  The master volume also cannot be turned up as loud as it did before.  When the headphones are unplugged, the computer speakers have reduced in volume as well.
Under "playback devices" the only devices are "Speakers and Headphones" and "Communications Headphones." There is no "Independent Headphones" device.  So right now the only device being used is Speakers and Headphones, which makes me think that before the problem occured there was another device that made the headphones sound better.
I checked the audio driver for updates, but it says that the lastest is already in use.
So I don't know what happened to change the quality in sound, and I don't know how to get it back to the quite excellent sound it had before.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Speakers and Headphones is correct setting.Have you checked you support page for an update for your Audio driver?Get your Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key or check the Service Tag attached to bottom, may be under battery.

  • Ipod second Generation sound quality problem.

    Hello there,
i´ve been using my nano for 1 year without any problems, with the first version (i think 1.1.3) that came with the equipment.
The sound quality was great until i update it to the last FW. The sound quality is terrible. Very very bad.
Please, how can i reinstall the old version of the FW?
    many thanks to anyone
    Nuno

I'm having the same problem. If you find a solution please let me know. Ever since I installed the last update my nano sound quality is awful when I try to play it in my car via my iPod connector or use headphones.

  • New Ipod Touch 5g, poor sound quality?

    Hi,
I recently got given a silver ipod touch for christmas, after having had a 5G nano ipod for a few years. i had always had no problem with sound quality with that ipod. However, I have noticed that even with my Bose headphones and on my Bose dock, certain songs heavy in bass (seems to be a lot of hip hop), such as my Jay-Z and Drake albums, the bass is very bad and fuzzy and messy. It sounds terrible. I have listened to the very same songs through my Macbook Pro through headphones and there is no problem. All my music is from itunes/amazonmp3/CDs so I don't understand whether my ipod is faulty or whether this is just how the new Ipod Touch is? If so I am returning it pronto! I need my bass!

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>GeneralReset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Fiddling with volume slider and sound quality

In an attempt to bypass the infamous volume cap that plagues iPods sold in the EU, in the past I fiddled with the volume slider of many of my MP3 tracks, either directly or via third party applications (such as euPod). Afterwards I have changed my mind and reset the slider.
Later on, I have read a few sources claiming that the above procedure would cause a permanent modification of the MP3 file and/or affect sound quality.
I am somewhat puzzled by such claims... Am I really better off re-ripping all those tracks? Can anyone point me towards an undisputed “truth” on this matter?

The third one is a hardware issue: The earbuds jack
is very loose. Apparently, the iPod automatically
pauses playback when the headphones are disconnected.
Hence, I only have to wiggle the connector a bit and
the nano stops playing. This really would be annoying
if I were to go jogging with my iPod ...
hmmm.. that happens to my ipod too and i only got it for christmas. so i was a bit gentle with it.so hence it comes out very easily.
but whilst reading all the replys i decided to be harsher to my ipod and just push my earbuds in all the way..it worked!! that might be the same for u or i might have just been a bit too forgetfull and thought that my ipod was delicate coz its like.. so preety:)
lol im in love with my ipod ..
dont know if this helps..hope it does..

  • Improved sound quality in 4.2.1 - My imagination?

I play music from my iPod through a lead from the headphone socket into my car stereo's Aux input, also a 3.5mm headphone socket. Since I installed 4.2.1, the sound quality seems to have improved significantly; in fact, it's fabulous!
I saw in the 4.2.1 release note that it included improved audio quality via USB for car stereos, but I wondered if any gurus out there might be able to explain the difference I'm hearing: is it a result of that improvement? I'm also wondering how they effected the improvement via USB, since as far as I understand it (which isn't that far, obviously) in those cases the iPod simply passes the digital file for playback through the car stereo DAC. Is there some kind of decode, re-encode for USB process going on?
Any light anyone can shed would be gratefully received!

    Did yo do this:
Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
    - Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
    - Then try on another computer

  • Will apple universal dock improve sound quality?

I use RCA plugs to hook up my ipod touch to my home stereo. Will adding an apple universal dock improve sound quality?

I've a 5th generation iPod 80 GB, the Composite AV cable, a Universal Dock, an Apple Remote, as well as a traditional headphone-jack-to-stereo-RCA cable I got from Radio Shack.
When I connect the Composite cable directly to the iPod, and then from there to my TV (no dock), videos play on the TV (with sound) and the iPod screen stays blank (as expected, since it re-directed the video to the TV).
When I connect the Composite cable to the dock first, then dock the iPod, I get USB power to the iPod, but the iPod does NOT see the TV - when I try to play video, the video displays on the iPod's screen instead. Also no sound. The Apple Remote works fine, however.
When I remove the Composite cable, connect the headphone-to-stereo-RCA to the 'line-out' part of the dock, connect that to a stereo, and dock the iPod I get sound, but of course no video. My Apple Remote still works as well of course. An interesting side note is that despite being labeled 'line out', I need to crank the volume to max for the sound to work correctly (a 'line out' should not be affected by the volume setting).
So... the problem appears to be the Dock. I'm gonna take my set-up down to an Apple store and see what they can do for me.
