Headphone tip stuck in headphone jack no sound comes out or goes in, what should i do?

i just got my macbook pro unibody, and first time i insert headphone in the jack the little piece of the head phone gets stuck in the jack. what should i do ? Does the warranty cover that kind of stuff( cause i think they should) or is there a solution? anything, please help!!

I had the same problem.  I tried tweezers, glue and neither worked.  If you can, bring it into the Apple Store.
Otherwise, a cheap fix so you can use headphones/earbuds:
I bought a USB to headphone jack adapter and it worked well.  This is the one I got:
Syba SD-CM-UAUD USB Stereo Audio Adapter
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MSS6CS/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&p sc=1
I'm sure many other similar adapters would work too.
It didn't require any device drivers, it was plug and play.
Once you plug it in, go to System Preferences, Sound, and click the Output tab at the top of the dialog box.  Then select: C-media USB audio device
Your headphones should work now, but I think your internal speakers will remain inaccessible until you get your MacBook repaired.

    Hello there, KingJones24.
If it has cooled down then you should be able to resume use of your device again. Feel free to review the following Knowledge Base article:
iOS devices: Keeping device within acceptable operating temperatures
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2101
To resume use of your device as quickly as possible, turn it off, move it to a cooler environment, and allow it to cool down.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

  • My iphone thinks I'm using a headphone when I'm not, and no sound comes out of the phone. How can I fix this?

It works fine in my car (when it's connected to bluetooth). But otherwise, the sound on the phone is dead.
What can be wrong and how can I fix it?

Please not that the iPhone uses mono channel for internal speakers, the other path that you see is not the speaker per say. It is the phone microphone. Try using headphones, you will hear both channels. If the problem still persists when using headphones, check your sound balancing in the settings. Go to setting-general-accessibility scroll down and check the slide under mono audio. It should be put at the centre for you to hear both channels ON YOUR HEADPHONES

My iPod touch is having a little issue with the volume. When I plug in my headphones the volume works fine. When there aren't any headphones plugged in, no sound comes out from my iPod. When I go to turn up the volume, it still says headphones. I tried restarting it a few times, nothing worked. I looked up many tutorials, and still nothing did the trick. Any tips?

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

  • Ipod Nano 7 - No sound comes out of the headphones, and i tried different headphones... Can you help? What shall i do?

Hello ! No sound comes out of my ipod nano 7. I tried different headphones, all working on other players, but nothing comes out of the ipod nano. Of course I turned the volume up and made sure to press on play... Anybody to help me out? Thanks a lot !

The jack on the Nano is very tight when it is new. Push the headphones all the way in until the plastic on the headset jack is flush with the body of the Nano.

  • Making all sound come out of both headphones...?

So, i frequently only have one earphone in, but i realised the other day that different sound is coming from both. This means that some sounds are quiter in my left ear that would usually be made louder if i had my right earphone in. This is especially annoying when watching films. So, my question is, how do i stop the sound splitting up like this, so that all the sound will play from both headphones?

You can't. It's stereo so different sound come out of each side.
You would need to save the audio as mono, not stereo.

  • When ever I put in my earphones completely in the slot no sound comes out but when I put then in 3/4 of the wAy in they work fine

Have you tried another pair of headphones to rule out a problem with the headphones?
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Right click 'Speakers and Headphones' ( or Speakers/HP ) and select Properties.  Select the Advanced tab and then remove the tick from the box next to 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device'.  Click Apply and Ok to save this change.
    Restart the notebook.

  • I have an iPhone 5 and with any pair of earphones that I plug in the sounds comes out of the speakers and not the earphones

I have an iPhone 5 and with any pair of earphones that I plug in the sounds comes out of the speakers and not the earphones
The problem occurred a few days after I had updated to iOS 7.02

    Hey Tahls23!
I have an article that can help you troubleshoot that issue:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
    No sound through stereo headset
Inspect the headset jack for debris and clean if necessary.
Connect the headset and make sure the connector is pushed in all the way.
Check the volume setting. Adjust the volume by pressing the volume up and down button on the left side of the iPhone.
If you are trying to listen to music and cannot hear any audio, make sure that the music on iPhone is not paused. Try squeezing the headset microphone to resume playback. Additionally, from the Home screen you can choose iPod > Now Playing, then tap Play.
Make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed on the computer that you are syncing the iPhone with (songs purchased from the iTunes Store using earlier versions of iTunes won't play).
Try another Apple headset (some third-party headsets require an adapter to be used with original iPhone).
Try a different song or video.
Check to see if the iPhone alert sounds or other iPhone sound effects exhibit the same audio issues.
Disconnect the headset from the iPhone and see if sound comes from the built-in speaker.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.
