Headphones adapter to insert my tape adapter plug into iPhone?

Is there an adapter that will let me insert the Sony tape adapter plug so I can listen to the iPhone in my car? Currently, the plug doesn't fit into the iPhone. Thanks

I did a workaround to avoid getting an additional $10 or $20 dongle by taking an XActo knife to my cassette adapter plug.
Because the plug has a rubber housing, I was able to carve the rubber back enough to the point where it would fit in the iPhone headphones jack. I didn't even need to touch knife to metal at any point in order to do this.
Obviously, there's a chance you could ruin your adapter and need to buy a new one of those as well as a new dongle, so be aware of the risks.

Do you have a smaller capacity micro SD card to try? I seem to remember from past posts that users were having problems with cards larger than 32GB, however, Apple's page doesn't mention this.

Charge it up fully. Toggle the hold switch. Try getting into diagnostics mode again. See Corrupt iPod classic.

Can get past the "Power adapter plugging into wall" icon

I just got my brothers older 60gb Photo ipod and am trying to get it working on my computer. Did the whole restore thing, but now it is stuck at the Power adapter plugging into wall icon. I didn't have the original wall plug so I got a universal one at Radio Shack. Only the ipod still has the darn icon on it and I can't get past it. Any suggestions>

Lets do a trick. Connect the iPod and the cabel. The USB connector has 2 prongs that stick out a little more than the rest the goal. is to push it in a little so it charges but does not sync. Give It A Try.

Is it safe to keep ac adapter plugged into notebook all the time?

I have been consistently using a Pavilion DV6-1230 US notebook for 5 years almost always with the ac adapter plugged in. I have replaced the battery once. I was told yesterday that this is not a good idea because it can lead to a shorter battery life and hardware issues. We are buying a new computer and want to know what is the recommended practice for using ac power with a notebook. Is always connected OK? Or do we shut the computer down at the end of the day? Should the power plug be removed from the outlet? Appreciate suggestions and recommendations on best practice in this case.

Hi: It is not a good idea to leave the power cord connected with the battery in the PC continuously. You should disconnect the power source at least once a month even if you don't move the notebook, run the notebook as needed, and let the battery drain down until you get the low battery warning. I plugged my mini into the wall(after getting this icon) but nothing's happening. I've reset it numerous times also. I'VE DONE EVERYTHING, BUT NOTHING IS WORKING. I'm on my sixth hour of trying to get this working. THESE THINGS ARE ALMOST NOT WORTH THE EFFORT. Any suggestions please!!

I am having the same problem. Ipod was running. Updated and got icon requesting me to plug ipod into external power source. Didn't have an external power source (since it wasn't supplied!) so I bought one. But I'm STILL getting nothing but the power plug icon.
And yes, I have reset it numerous times. It goes to the "batttery recharge" icon (despite the fact that it's been plugged in for hours and hours) and then the apple icon comes up and then it goes back to the plug in external battery icon.
I tried to see if I could restore the thing in that brief moment when the apple icon appeared, but no go. It never recognized the Ipod.
I have a very expensive brick and I'm very unhappy. There must be a workaround. Help please!

I am using an interface that is allows guitar to be plugged in, and send output through headphones, utilizing the amps in Garage Band. However, the microphones on the iPhone are allowing ambient noise and not picking up the guitar.

I had this problem too, and solved it yesterday.
This anomaly is related with the 1st time iPhone activation by iCloud. without using iTunes.
If you erase your phone and restore your iPhone using iCloud backup, it won't work. But, if you erase your phone (backing up all informations on your computer) and restore using the iTunes software, it will work.
I did it yesterday and solved the problem.
What I did:
1) connected the phone on my computer and did a complete backup on my computer;
2) erase the phone (you can do it on iTunes or on the phone);
3) before put my account information on the phone, plugged it on the computer again;
4) follow the instructions on iTunes (restore the backup)

Power Adapter Plug Keeps Disconnecting on 1.67Ghz ***

I constantly have to re-push in my power adapter plug into the
Powerbook 1.67 Ghz. It seems as though the socket in the Powerbook just wants to squeeze the male part of the adapter back out again and again. I have 2 power adapters that this happens with, so I am almost certain it's the female socket on the Powerbook itself.
Has anybody been able to get Apple to cover this problem under warranty?

If you are still under warranty I would suggest you contact AppleCare regarding your issue. Every case is unique so just because one person may have gotten it fixed, or has been refused, does not necessarily mean this will fillow in all cases.

Satellite A300 shuts down when the power adapter plug is inserted

Hi people
When i connect power cable to my toshiba sat a300, it shuts down immediatly. I can use it on battery normally without any problems.
When i boot in the safe mode, it works properly without any problem with the AC Adapter connected to the Notebook.
OS is Windows Vista
What is the reason? what i can do to solve this problem?

I can start the Notekook with the AC Adapter plugged, but it turns off before to reach the Welcome Screen or reboot. I tried straight to install Windows 7 with a another HDD . As soon as only the installation files are loaded, the system starts again. I do not reach times the beautiful blue window, of where the actual installation can be started.

Headphone Adapter Question - Different Take!

I have the v-moda iphone headset/headphones for my iphone and I'd like to use that gizmo with non-iphone devices like JetBlue's headphone jacks. The problem is not all devices will accept the iphone's modified connector and you don't get both channels or the sound is distorted.
Is there an adapter available that will adapt from an iphone-type headset to a standard headset jack? I've searched the internet and I've certainly found the opposite, but not this.

If you want to just save money, all stereos accept iPhone 3.5mm plugs.
I plug in my iPhone headset to my computer's 2.5mm plug and I can listen to music with that. You can't use the mic is all that'll be.

Audio Noise When Plugged Into AC Adapter

I have a dv9000 laptop which produces a sizzling/buzzing sound when plugged into the AC adapter. It makes the sound when headphones or external speakers are used. I have updated all drivers that the HP Support article mentioned, but still do not get any silence. It appears that the sound intensifies when the hard drive is used more.
Also, I found articles relating to the same issue, and improper grounding was determined to be the cause. I have a 3 pronged AC adapter, so the ground shouldn't be the problem.

Actually I bet it IS. Try a 3 prone grounding adapter (cheater plug) and let the ground float (leave disconnected). See if your problem doesn't go away. You most likely have a ground loop which I have wrestled with many times in the past with HP laptops. Unless you are sitting in a pool of water or get struck by lightening, you should be just fine 99.99999999% of the time. If you have any other powered external devices connected to the laptop such as hard drives, routers, etc THEY TOO may need to have their grounding floating. Report back your results.

Powerbook G4 won't charge battery or run with power adapter plugged in.

My Titanium Powerbook G4 will not charge the battery or run with the power adapter plugged in. When plugged in the power adapter doesn't change to amber showing its charging. Instead it has a green light that flashes off and on. I thought it was a defective power adapter but when its plugged in to another powerbook its seems to be working properly. I reset the PMU but that didn't help. I have been unable to find anything that would tell me what a flashing green means.

Hi, Marshall. With no power being supplied to the Mac for several months, not only has your main battery gone flat (and may never again be able to take a charge), but your internal backup battery has also gone flat. A Tibook with a dead backup battery generally will not start up at all, even with AC power connected.
Try this: remove the main battery and leave the AC power adapter connected overnight in an attempt to recharge the backup battery. If the Powerbook won't start in the morning under AC power, the backup battery is shot, has lost the ability to be charged, and must be replaced.
If the PB starts up in the morning on AC power, set the date and time correctly, shut the computer down, insert the main battery, and allow 48 hours with AC power connected in an attempt to charge the main battery. Then disconnect the AC adapter and try to start up under battery power. If that doesn't work, and no lights or only one flashing light appear when you press the power-indicator button on the battery, you'll have to replace the main battery.
