Headphones in ear, or not? h

ok im thinking about buying some new headphones, though i dont know a lot about headphones and i want to get the most out of my mp3 player for under ?40 ($75)
what i wanted to know is wether in eir headphones
such as the sony MDR-EX7SLB picutured below

where as good as the normal portable such as the sennheiser PX200 pictured below

as far as quality goes
plus will the portable heaphones be as loud when i put them on my ears

I have those Sony MDR-EX7SLB. They fit in the canal good but you have to get used to screwing them in tight - they MUST be in tight otherwise freq response will not be correct - I tried all 3 of the supplied earpieces. However, they exhibit a slight mid distortion that is annoying - cymbals don't sound crisp (I'm an ex-drummer). I tried and tried to like them but had to give them up after about 6 months.
So then I got Etymotic ER-6, these sound excellent. Perfect freq response, BUT of course being canal they must be in TIGHT (perfectly sealed) and these take me a lot longer to get them in than the Sony's. Once in, they are excellent and seal out almost all other sound. However, if you have to take them out & put them back in a lot (like at work, and somebody asks you a question or you have to answer the phone) your canals will get sore. Well, that was with the supplied earpieces, maybe custom ones would be better.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with sound on your iPhone. I recommend the following steps for an issue like this:

Headphones for ipad2 - stereo not working?

Everything seems fine otherwise - but all the headphones we've tried with the iPad only get sound coming out of one side? Not great on planes when we normally share a pair of headphones so each of us gets to listen to the film!
any tips? Have already had one iPad replaced for this problem, but the replacement is exactly the same. Have tried restoring all settings, different headphones, etc etc.

Yes, they are all the way in! We get sound through one ear and not the other. Have tried wiggling the jack a bit as someone said this might help, but nothing. Just can't get any sound at all through one side, on various different headphones we've tried. Have changed all the settings we can find but makes no difference...

I am having ?audigy 2 ZS platinum and no issues in windows xp recently i tried installing windows 7 so i downloaded the driver from the website.
my problem is in windows 7 im not able to use the both headphone and 7.1 speaker together but in windows xp it works fine and no issues when ever i want to use the headphone just turn off the volume controller it was very & convenient for me.in windows 7 if i set the speaker mode in 5.1 i can hear sound from headphone simaltaneously but not in 7.1 speaker configuration.another annoying thing is that when ever i plug the headphone trebble and bass settings is restored to deafult.every time i have to keep on changing this when changing from 7.1 to headphone
I already tried all the option in eax console regarding heaphone options?
Is there any solution to use both headphone and 7.1 speaker together

Still i cant use windows 7 because of this issue i would like to correct the administrator its not eax console its creative audio console and i used the default driver which is available on your site.
If i choose 2.1/4.1/5.1 mode i can hear in headphone too but if i switch to 7.1 no sound on headphone.
i love the feature that i can turn of my speaker controller and keep listening in headphone which i use in windows xp with out changing anything and if i need 7.1 just turn on the speaker volume controller.

Have you gone into system prefs nad made sure that the headphone port is set to audio out. And not audio in.
Also make sure that you are selecting built in speakers for your audio output.
If that does not fix it try doing a Pram reset.
Shut your mac down.
Press the startup button.
Hold down the following keys. Command Option P and R. Wait till you hear the chime 2 times. Then let go. See if that fixes it.

Restart deployment (.ear) does not load optional package

In our 10.3.5 WLS domains, we are using optional packages for sharing libraries between applications see [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24329_01/web.1211/e24368/libraries.htm|Creating Shared Java EE Libraries and Optional Packages]
The problem is that if I redeploy the library I have to redeploy the deployment. This issue only happens with the applications packaged as *.ear*. If the application has been deployed as a .war, with restarting the deployment is enough.
Would be possible to load the referenced library from an *.ear* just restarting the deployment?

The next step would be to do a system factory reset. This recovery option returns all of the notebook's software to the condition it was in at the time of purchase. Any programs installed after purchase and any files you created will be removed entirely.
Here is a document on how to perform this. Please make sure you back up all your documents and pictures before doing this.

Sounds to me like a hardware issue or maybe something is stuck in the headphone jack. When you plug in headphones, the jack in the iPad is switched to play only through the headphones and not the iPad's speakers. Sounds like either the jack is faulty or there is something stuck in the headphone jack. Get a flashlight & look inside the jack for anything that looks like it doesn't belong in there.
Regardless, I'd take it in to an Apple Store if you have one nearby to have it checked.
EDIT: "Ocean20" had an excellent suggestion above. While doing that, you may also want to rotate/twist the plug in the jack back & forth a few times as well. Dirty contacts can often times be cleared by doing this.

I had the same issue. Initially i thought i need to take it to apple for replacing the aux port. But luckily I was able to fix it by resetting the PRAM . To reset the PRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Immediately press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.Continue holding the keys down until the computer restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
Resetting PRAM may change some system settings and preferences. Use System Preferences to restore your settings.
You can try this before you take to apple store. It may work if you are lucky. Good luck
