Headphones not working - HP Laptop GB, 64-Bit based operating sys. AMD A-6 HD Graphics, 2.7 GHz
I cannot get my headphones to work. I made them my default and have tried all the the HP fixes. Everything say "working properly". My computer sound works ,but headphones will not work. I had wireless headphones and they work off and on. Not working now. The plug in Sony head phones don't work. I have tried everything. I have made them my default and checked everything that has to do with audio, everything says "woking properly". I do have a digital display audio that says not plugged in, but that was there when my wireless were working. This 8.1 ia a real Pain!! Any help would be appreciated!

I understand that you are having issues getting your headset working on your HP G6 Notebook. I am setting out some steps below for you to follow to see if we can get the Audio Troubleshooter to resolve your issue.
Step 1. Go to start menu and type "Troubleshooting"
Step 2. Click on Troubleshooting when it shows up
Step 3. Click on Troubleshoot Audio Playback in Hardware and Sound option
Step 3. Click Next
Step 4. Choose Headphones and Windows will automatically detect the problem
Step 5. Click on Apply Fix

I'm having an issue with my headphones connecting to my laptop. When I plug my headphones into the audio jack the sound still comes from the laptops speakers not the headphones. I have looked in the sound options playback devices and my headphones do not appear. Also my computer won't automatically recognize the headphones when they are plugged in like it use to do.

I have read your post on how the headphones on your computer are not working, and I would be happy to guide you towards a resolution!
To restore the audio to your headphone jack, I recommend installing the original software and hardware drivers that first came with your computer. This can be done by following this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8), as well as Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8) to update the drivers.
When the software reinstallation has completed, shudown the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

I can help you with finding the drivers for the Laserjet P1006.
Just to clarify, you were able to install the printer software, but it just isn't printing correct?
Here are the two drivers available for Windows 7 64 bit.
HP LaserJet P1000-P1500 Hostbased Plug and Play Basic Driver.
HP LaserJet P1005/P1006/P1500 Printer Series Full Feature Software and Driver.
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
Open and close the lid five times quickly. It should print off a page with black lines on it.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)

Anyone had successs in this or another Bluetooth Keyboard after a bit of a struggle? What did you do to get it working? When I Add Device in Bluetooth it sees the keyboard but enlessly scans for it when I try to select and connect. The Rocketfish Bluetooth mouse worked just fine.My friend, i have both, the bluetooth mouse and keyboard here that your talking about. and the keyboard was a struggle to pair with the windows 7 64 bit.... i think i spent 2 days working with it. and i didnt try anything special, i just kept trying to pair
it, and unplugging the dongle and working with it... and after a while. it worked... Lately though, i have been looking into getting a wired mouse and keyboard becuase of the delays and sleep time i have with my current keyboard(rocketfish). supposidly there
is a way around the delays but it disables all the options on your keyboard. IE the media buttons, and web browsing features. and my mouse keeps dieing off too....
Also, after researching these products more, i found that alot of people experienced similar problems with them, Being delays and mouse failure. Even with fresh batteries and all. The products werent meant to be used long term(2-3 years) for extensive use...
I dont know about you but i thinki paid 100 bucks for the pair so thats only 25 bucks a year... Which is kinda silly considering i coulda got a better one that wont cough up on me.
If anyone reading this finds a good wireless keyboard that doesnt delay, and a mouth that doesnt delay...(my biggest concern). Please mention it. i am very interested in. -

Hi there, since 4 months ago I've noticed that my a, q, 1, backspace, and volume buttons do not work when theres a little bit of pressure on or under it. It kind of bothers me because I cant lay in bed and do my things, I have to put it on a table. So my question is, why is this and how can I fix this?

Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings

When in system preferences/sound/output do you see the headphones there? If so select them.
Try plugging the headphones in and out several times (there is a micro switch that can get stuck)
Try toggling the volume keys while plugging them in.
Try restarting with them plugged
Trya pram reset: with nothing connected
Power off, power back on holding the following keys:
OPTION COMMAND P R
continue to hold till you hear the start chime 2 times then release, rebbot.
If still no joy take it back to the Apple store, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to swap for another machine, or a refund, or have them fix it. Take full advantage of your warranty. -

Try downloading the trial. It ought to detect that you have a 64-bit system.
You aren't using Vista, are you? PSE 13 requires at least win 7 and I think a few folks with vista have gotten a similar error message on trying to install it. -

Hello, After wiping the harddisk of my laptop and a new installation of Windows 7 every thing works fine, except the headphones. I tried installing new driver, but the ones from windows update are not working and on the official hp driver site there are no drivers for audio. How can I fix this?
Hi, Can you see the headphone under Playback devices (Right click speaker icon at the bottom right) ? You may need to install driver for it. Am I missing something blatantly obvious?? I've just unwrapped my new 5310, plugged in a standard set of headphones (not the nokia ones) - but no sound comes out of them, just through the phone speaker
Should it work with any headphones, or am I tied to using Nokia ones? Headphones are OK and work everywhere else.
Also, when I plug in the headphones it displays: "Enhancement not supported"

Go to Solution.Nokia 5310 has a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. So, theoretically it is possible to plug in any headphone having a compatible header. In your case, I guess the connector on the headphone is a bit longer, and because of that, it might be missing the contacts inside the jack. Pull out the connector sligthly, or press it in a bit, and see if it helps. Also, try a different set of earphones too, to confirm that your jack is working fine.
