Headphones too loud.

Does anyone else think the music plays too loud through headphones? I find that it is too loud when set at the lowest possible volume to comfortably listen to in a quiet office. Am I just crazy? Never had this problem with my ipod.

try to go to settings; ipod; sound check; switch it to on. This may help you.

  • Headphone sound too loud - how to get very fine volume control in osx

I could not use my headphones on my new MBP, because the sound was always too loud, even on the smallest setting. It appears that lots of other people have similar problems, so here is a way to fix this:
To get very fine sound volume control I use soundflower fromhttp://code.google.com/p/soundflower/. You have to restart after installing it. Then go to preferences/sound/output and choose soundflower(2ch). Start soundflower from the applications folder, click on the flower symbol in the top pannel and soundflower(2ch) built in output. Then go to Audio setup and change the master for soundflower(2ch). This way you can get the global sound less loud or you can amplify it.
Hope this helps a few people

    You saved my life (and my ears) ! Thank you marcel-sl for sharing this (;
    Prety cool software if you have an USB headset too loud. Now, I can use F11 and F12 (;

  • Headphone volume is always too loud

My new laptop is unacceptably loud when using headphones in the combo jack. The sound is bearable at exactly 1 volume, which obviously leaves no room for adjustment. This was not a problem with my previous laptop, an old HP Pavilion dv6t. That computer also had Beats Audio, but the version number was higher, and it recognized my headphones as being different from the laptop speakers. On my new ENVY 15, the only playback device is Speaker/HP, and it uses the same profile when I'm using headphones.
Is there a way to lower the volume all around? I am currently using the recommended driver for this model, which is odd, because it's apparently an earlier version than the computer I bought years ago. Can I replace or upgrade driver or Beats Audio Control Panel?

  • Siri too loud with headphones in

I have the volume on siri turned way up so I can hear her well enough in most rooms. but when I plug in my headphones, it is so loud it's painful. I thought the volume for things like this was supposed to immediately adjust to be lower when headphones are plugged in?
note: keyboard clicks and the lock noise also seem too loud too, but that doesn't bother me. ring tones are quiet enough with the headphones in.

Adjust the volume with headphones plugged in to what is a comfortable level for you.  This does not affect the volume level without headphones plugged in.

  • Ipod playing too loud?

Hi there, JOSH!!! Oooooooohhhhhhhhh! Anyway, I've been having some problems with my ipod nano (4th gen) recently and I'm wondering if ya'll could help me out, if you'd kindly :3
Firstly the ipod is playing too loud, way too loud. Now this is not just your typical loudness, this is.... Advananced loudness.... To the point that the song becomes barely listenable.. Ok, to give you an example, let's say I'm listening to "POWER" by Kanye West. When the drums and the 'beat' come in at about 0:25 it just sounds like grabbled static, really loud, grabbled static. :/
And I've no idea what's going on.. At first I thought that the bass and treble in the equalizer was too high, but it turned out the equalizer wasn't even on :S Then I tried restoring it to factory settings (Several times), but that didn't work either. And 'then' I thought it might just be the headphones, but that was a dead end too! :O Now I'm left wondering, just what the **** is going on :/ Anyone have any ideas on this? (P.S Volume limit was never used)
Secondly it runs out of battery, like that *Clicks fingers* I think after 45 minutes it's already out of juice. :/ Though I believe that this might be due to the 'loud' problem, it could be something else ...
Thirdly it keeps 'crashing' and it's not just a 'hold down ya menu and play button and it'sa better' crash. It's a 'Restore to factory and resync your whole ****ing libeary everytime' crash :/
It's only recently started doing this. About the time itunes was last updated.. I synced up and poof ipod starts acting funny :S
So can anybody find me!!! Somebody tohelpmefixmyipod?
As a note my Nano magically recovered from being dropped in water about a year. However it's been working just fine and dandy for about 5-6 months now.

Try verifying that you do not have optional volume adjustment cranked up.
While in iTunes, get info on a track that is having this issue.  Go to the options tab and at the top there is a "Volume Adjustment" setting. It should be set to "None". If it is set to +100%, that is your problem.
To fix, all of them at once, you can select all in your music library, then right click and select "Get Info" it will ask if you want to change multiple files at once, say yes. Then go to the options tab and set it to None and it will put that on all your tracks.
click ok, resync your music and see if that does it.

  • Sound still too loud

Over a year ago the sound in the flash player was way too loud on 100%.
Now it's still too loud. On 50% volume it seems to be normal.
But this only appears, when the system volume isn't set to 100% (when I'm using headphones without a volume control).

    A few questions:
What version of Flash Player are you using?  (Right click on Flash content.  It will be displayed at the bottom of the context menu)
What browser and version are you using?
What operating system and version are you using?
What sound card and driver version are you using?
Can you give me a link to a site that reproduces the problem, or is it all Flash content that you encounter?
Do you see the same volume problem on both HTML5 and Flash videos, like in the examples below?
              - HTML5 video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w&html5=True
              - Flash video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w
    Thanks!

  • AUX IN too loud on minimum mixer sett

I have an ES37/ES373 SoundBlaster card. Even with the built-in Windows mixer recording volume set to minimum, the input through AUX IN is WAY TOO LOUD. Mute cuts it off completely. Is this not a logarithmic volume control (audio taper)? I should expect to be able to smoothly adjust to zero volume using the slider on the Recording AUX IN volume slider.
What gives? Is there a workaround? Different Mixer software?

That will be some settings adjustments on your computer (e.g., volume control or volume management) and not on your MDR-1R headphones. You may contact the support provider of your computer for best assistance.

  • Background sound is too loud

my macbook pro, early 20011, the background sound is too loud with or without headphones, i cannot hear the speech well. any ideas?

I also found the mic input poor.  End result was to disable onboard and put my Xonar DGX back in.  Also Xonar volume @ 50% seems to bee the same as the Realtek 100% volume.
I'll be perfectly honest with you.....
On both my laptop (MSI GT70) and my desktop (MSI Z97 SLI) I have an Asus Xonar based sound card....it's just flat out better.
Personally, I don't care for the included software with the on-board sound solutions (software based creative crap is...crap...), and the sound that it makes for digital connections (COAX/optical) really isn't as good.
But again, that's just my opinion. I believe that the on-board sound should work though, and it might actually be a problem with the board. I would say at the very least, contact MSI and maybe consider an RMA to see if you can get it resolved, just so you have a fully working board to start with.

  • My 2nd generation itouch volume is too loud

The volume on my itouch is way too loud even at the lowest setting. If I slide it anymore it would mute. I don't know what to do. Can anyone offer any advice?
    Thanks

Go into the Settings app then press Music. You'll see an option called "Volume Limit." This is Apple's way of making sure you don't burst your eardrums. Use the slider to adjust the Volume Limit to your prefrence. It also you be your headphones or speaker. Try using a different speaker or another pair of headphones.
    Hope I helped!

  • Facetime the volume is too loud

I just updated my iPod touch to iOS 6 and when I  Facetime the volume is too loud even if I turn it down. I tried to restore it several times but nothing changed...what can I do? Do I have to send it to Apple support?

I am having a similar problem - but it's not exactly the same.
I upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 when it first came out and everything seemed fine.
Last weekend, I noticed that I had soem issues with music copied to my phone which I couldn't seem to delete and after a lot of mucking about, decided the ebst best was to restore my phone to basics and re-load all of my music.
I noticed when I did the restore to rhe iPhone that it downloaded a new copye of iOS as part of the restore.
After the update, I managed to clean up my music but in phone calls, the audio on my phone - through the handset speaker is too loud and it makes the speaker vibrate.  If i try to use the volume buttons, i can see the volume slider move up or down but the audio volume doesn't actually change very much and even at low levels the audio qulity is poor.  the speaker vibrates.  Strange thing is that if i put the phone call on speaker phone, it's fine.
If I use the headphones, volume does change on calls when i use the volume controls on the headphone cable.  it even changes when i use the volume buttons on the handset with the headphones plugged in and in both cases the audio quality is fine.
With the headphones in music volume is low but does adjust up and down using wither the cable volume controls or the ones on the handset.
Audio on music through my car sound system seems fine and does increase or decrease as I adjust it in the car.
The only issue seems to be phone caslls through the handset speaker in normal mode......

  • Topsify ad way too loud

I know there have been multiple posts about loud ads, but this latest topsify ad is ridiculous! Every time this ad comes on I have to rip my headphones off before my ears start bleeding! It is EXTREMELY loud compared to the actual music. This is on a Desktop with the setting "Set the same volume level for all tracks" turned on. I appreciate you want free users to subscribe, but you are gonna actually damage your users' hearing! Please turn down the volume on this ad, or you may become subject to lawsuits from users who have lost their hearing. Andrew

I'm here just to bump this topic, since, at least the Belgian one, isn't fixed yet. It is SO darn LOUD, as a gamer who just likes his music in the background, suddenly the darn horrible BLEEEPEPEEPEPPEPEP TOPSIFY BELGIUM TOP 40 WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL. I once threw my headset on the ground while gaming just because it was way too loud and I didn't have time to put my sound off and jesus it was just a reaction but it's horrible.

  • Sound too loud and distorted from capture

It seems that for some reason when I capture video from my Sony PD170 DV camera, that the sound captured is way too loud on the timeline, even though it reads acceptable on the waveforms and the green lights that go up and down.
My last capture an hour ago, from the timeline, the sound was crakely listening through the computer speaker and headphones. I then listened through headphones directly from the original tape in the camera and it sounded ok.
Any suggestions? A problem with the compouter or a setting I need to adjust in FCP for capturing video?
At System Preferences/Sound the input volume is at half set from the internal mic.

I tried a capture from a friends camera and FCP system. Same problem on time line. Random pencil thin blank spots on the audio wave form. So it must be on the tape. Maybe bad tape, electronic interference in recording room or some camera problem recording. Used two separate wireless lavs. Drop-out in exactly same place on both channels could rule out room interference because of different frequency lavs.
I did short analogue test copy from PD170 to Trv-900 and it eliminated the drop-out. So I am now making full copy to substitute in time line.
I also think that the sound coming in with the capture is too loud and that's the possible problem, but can't figure how to change the level on a capture. Even though the waveform and meter after capture look ok, it still seems pretty loud. The audio control in the Log And Capture/Clip Settings is greyed out at 1.

  • The volume is just too **** loud! :)

When I hook up my iMac to the normal speaker system, it's all good, I turn the volume way up in Leopard, and then proceed to 'down-tune' it with the speaker's own volume knob.
But there are times the rest of the house is still asleep, and I use the headphones that came with my iPod. The problem is, I can't turn the volume down far enough. 0 'blocks' of volume (in Leopard) is completely muted, and 1 'block' is already too loud. Of course, some applications have their own volume control (iTunes, Quicktime, etc), so I can turn it down there, but that does not control the volume of the system's own sounds (The "Ding"-download-is-done-sound for instance).
Is there a way to turn the volume down in the system (like, 0.5 'block' would be ideal) without using headphones with a built-in volume control? (for one, I don't own one of them, and secondly, they usually destroy sound quality)
Right now, I kinda feel like Huey Lewis in Back to the Future. "It's just too **** loud".

Sorry but I don't understand which "block" you are talking about. Volume adjustment is continuous rather than discrete. If you do it in System preferences->sound, the volume bar is nice and long so it shouldn't be hard to find a good level.

Ah! I think, you mean the volume button on the keyboard. Just do it in system preferences or using the volume bar in the menu.

  • Voluem is too loud!

just wondering if anyone else has had or heard of this problem.
The volume is way too loud. I tested it in two different headphones. also the volume is much, much louder in one side of the headphones. AND this is really weird. if I turn the volume ALL the way down, the volume is still way too loud (one the one side) to listen to comfortably. any ideas?

yes, tried that. still having the problem.
to be more precise, the one stereo channel does respond to the volume controls, but the other does not. it seems to be playing the left side at max volume at all times, while the right side loudens and softens with the scroll wheel.
well I guess I have to take it back.
