Headphones&volume issue

I bought my blackberry pearl 8100 about a week ago, and I found a few problems:
-When I plug in the headphones to the phone to listen to music, only one of them works. The headphones are fine, I just bought them a few days ago and they work fine on my other phone.
-When I watch videos, the volume is on max and I can't control it. I tried using the + and - buttons but it doesn't work!
help!!

Thanks for the advice,
I tried the battery thing, didn't work.
What else can i do?
There's no point having 8GB space if i can't listen to music/watch videos normally:/
You can try reinstalling/updating device OS. If that fails then nothing can be done with the phone.

  • Volume issues with GE60 Apache Pro-003

I recently picked up the new GE60 Apache Pro notebook, and I've been running it for about a week now. I should of course mention that I also did a clean windows install after adding an SSD to the system (and now can't figure out how to add back that cool MSI panel that was there when I first got the system).
Anyway, I've noticed that there seems to be volume issues with the system no matter WHAT kind of settings I tweak, or drivers I try to use. With all sliders up at maximum, the volume levels still never seem to surpass around 50% (from observing the volume gauges in the Windows Volume mixer panel). My previous notebook's speakers put out significantly higher volume, and was also able to put out far more power to my headphones (Audio Technica ATH-M50).
Any possible ideas for the cause and solution to this problem? Thanks in advance, and let me know if there is anything else I need to mention.

What are you using to gauge the '50%'? MP3's? Windows sounds? or what?
Pretty much everything. Music, games, online videos... According to the volume mixer, the audio levels never seem to pass 50%. The grey bar bounces to the peak, but the green bar never seems to pass the 50% level. It's as if there's some sort of limiter in place I'm not aware of. And since I reformatted the notebook as soon as I got it, I was never able to see if the volume control worked correctly before the reformat.

  • Volume Issues - Too Loud & Too Soft

This is a problem I've had for awhile now. It's getting unbearably frustrating. Volume issues, where the default value for sound ranges outside what the iPhone should be capable of doing. So for example if the volume goes from 0% to 100%, my phone will be completely random and range from -50% to 150%.
How can it be less then 0% you might ask, when moving the slider mid way the volume is completely off and any lower doesn't make a difference, then I'll receive an email notification and BAM the volume goes up 300% and it's so loud it feels like the speaker is going to explode. This problem happens at any time but mostly after or while using headphones or car bluetooth.
Example of my issue in action, I'll plug AUX in the car into the phone, play music, driving along, randomly goes to half volume. I'll turn up the stereo to compensate, one minute later I'll get an email and the volume resumes to normal operating volume and I almost sh** my pants in fright.
Another example is I'll be watching a video late at night before bed on youtube or something with the volume all the way down, then the next morning my phone alarm will not sound or it will but insanely softly. The work around for this is to play music right before locking my phone with the volume up all the way. Just move the volume up all the way, play > pause and there you have it, volume working agian.
And one last example, randomly it goes really really loud. Like how is this possible loud. I'll dial a number and when pressing the buttons instead of a beep beep beep. I get fog horn BEEEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEP. But as soon as the call starts the volume sets itself back to normal. Kind of like how when playing music without head phones with volume on max sets it back to normal.
    Things you should note:
Ringer volume has been locked to maximum, but quite often won't abide by this rule.
I've reset the phone and setup as new iPhone, problem still occurs.
Please don't give a solution like, "Have you checked your sound volume in settings". I'm not stupid.
Also, please don't give a solution unless you understand the difference between "Notification and Tone Volume" and "Media Volume".
Other then that. Please help, this is driving me mental.

I recently did the last firmware upgrade for my ipod nano 5th gen and can't set the maximim limit.
It can be set, but wont stick and I can still go above the limit.
Did something break with the firmware upgrade.

  • Headphone volume too loud in Facetime calls - iPad Mini Retina 7.1.1

    Hi,
I have an iPad Mini Retina Space grey 32GB Wifi version updated to the newest iOS 7.1.1.
I've noticed that the headphone volume during Facetime calls is always extremely loud even on lowest volume setting and there's no way to lower the volume further down. It's independent of the person I call, and the same problem appears in both in Facetime video and Facetime audio calls.
The bug only appears in the Facetime app and only after inserting the headphones and (not noticable when using the speaker). Setting a volume limit in Settings doesn't affect this loud volume during Facetime calls. I've tried 3 different headphones and I've also done a full reset of the iPad and setting up a completely new iCloud account.
I also have an iPad Mini (1st gen) and an iPhone 4 and I don't experience this bug on those devices.
Have anyone experienced the same bug? Any solution?

pandora?      once I got used to it, it bacame second nature to simple reach over and toggle the hotspot off and on.  not great if you have the constant need, but if you have the constant need, it wouldnt be shutting down in the first place.
If this is a big issue for you, and there is no persistant wifi available, you might think about a standalone portable hotspot.  Pretty much every carrier in the US has one they would be happy to sell you, along with a data plan.

  • Volume Issues Palm 800

Hello Palm users and tech(s) alike...  Well, I'm sure others can relate to low volume issue with their palm... Although I have my device turn up to the Max, I'm still having trouble hearing my phone conversations and watching TV on my device.  I have purchased many Bluetooth and headphones and still I'm unable to increase the volume output.   I'm aware of one particular patch for volume issues related to Bluetooth devices(incoming calls the volume goes down) however, does anyone know of a work around for increasing the volume output...  If so, reply back to [email protected]!
    Thanks,

  • Speakphone volume issues

I don't know if its just me but it seems my speakerphone volume is very low at its max volume. Yes, I can hear the caller but comparing to the volume of my nextel phone, its like half as loud. I'm a HUGE speakerphone guy, and when i'm in the car or somewhere around a little noise, it becomes very hard to listen to the caller. Of course at home in a quite eviorment, its very easy.
I went to the apple store and had the phone replaced, upon taking it home an activating it, I have the same issue, i'm now thinking this is the way the phones were made. How the **** did this phone get pass QA or the beta test group is beyond me.

It seems as though several people have volume issues...along with myself. Many people seem to agree it is a problem with only the 8 gig phones...which I had. I tried all of the fixes that were posted, took it to the Genius Bar and they replaced it...still had problems with both the ear volume and speakerphone, a very miniscule amount of improvement with the new replacement. Then talked to tech support, did the reset procedure and restore with iTunes...no help. I took it back this evening for a refund and they waived the restock fee. This was a very sad and difficult decision for me! As soon as I got back from the Apple store, I started looking for more new fixes or some sort of solid info on an update that might fix it. Even the Genius bar told me tonight, to wait for 2.0! I do have to say, I am probably one of the very few that only bought this phone for the phone feature and the way it looked! I truly could care less about the other 'lacking' or 'inadequate' features others are having issues with or complaining about. I am one that has never sent a text message, email, had a to do list, calendar, etc. on her cell phone. I have only used my phone to make/receive calls and play Tetris! I have not even had a new cell phone in years, so this was a splurge and a wonderful, fun and exciting new gadget! The ONLY complaint I had was the volume. That was the deal breaker for me. I cannot wear headphones, as the Genius bar suggested or use a blue tooth. I use the speaker phone 80 percent of the time. I always am in a noisy environment and have never had volume issues with my Nextel phone...(just dropped calls! Ha) This was, needless to say, a big disappointment that of all things that could have been a problem, it had to be the volume...the one that is most important to me. FYI, when I went to the Genius bar, I asked if anyone else was coming in with this problem and they said only one...however, the day I was in there, four people were waiting to discuss their volume issues with the phone! I don't know and I don't think Apple even knows if this is even a situation that could be resolved with a software update. Best of luck with your situation and all the rest who have that issue. I'm going to wait it out for hopefully a solution that will be found soon! I can imagine going past the 14 day refund period and finding out the volume problem cannot be solved!

  • Thank you Zyriab.  My volume issue is solved!

Thank you Zyriab.  My volume issue is solved!

This is a physical problem with the buttons?
Did you try doing a Reset (restart) of the iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320
and if that does not help, a Restore on the iPod using iTunes.  The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.
If that does not help, because there is something physically wrong with the iPod's hardware, you may be able to control volume if you get a set of headphones that has compatible remote control buttons on the cord.  For example, Apple's Earpods headphones should work with a 6th gen iPod.  However, it may not help if the button on the iPod is actually "stuck" and always giving the Volume Up command.

  • Audigy 4 pro headphone volume cont

    Hello,
I really can't seem to find the HEADPHONE VOLUME CONTROL......
On the package and on the creative site it says there's a headphone connection with volume control on the external box. I really can't find one, only a mic/line-in volume control and a master volume control. There is no seperate volume control for the headphoe output is there?
I lower teh volume of my headphone output, not my speakers, so if anyone knows where the headphone volume control is (as creative says there is) please let me know!

From another post, you have plugged your headphones into the line out for the speakers.
I darsay that as you have speculated on the other post, the sound card things that the headphones are part of the speaker syste and not headphones at all, hence the volume control issue.

  • ALSA - Master volume no longer having an effect on headphone volume

I use ALSA and have both my 'front' (speakers) and 'headphone' audio volume set to max. Then I control the two by adjusting the master volume.
Since my last system update this worked fine however now when I change the master volume it only affects the sound coming from my speakers and my headphones are constantly at max unless I specifically change the headphone volume in 'alsamixer'. This is inconvenient since I have the master volume controlled by hotkeys.
I know I can work around this and hotkey my controls to change both the master and headphone volumes but this leaves room for things getting out of sync. Is there a way to revert back to the old method?

    Hi-
"Essentially" a clone and a clone are not the same. There are alot of things that don't get copied when you simply drag folders. Pathways to aliases are one of them.
Use SuperDuper! (the best IMHO) or Carbon Copy Cloner to get real bootable clones of your system and files.

  • Has Anyone sent the iphone in for repair for the low volume issue ???

I called apple last week and spoke with a level on support agent. After he could not solve the volume issue they sent me to level two. the level two tech took the call and told me right away that they were going to send me a new phone. I give him my credit card as a deposit so they would send a new phone and when I had the new phone I could then send the old one back. Well after a few days I called to check on the phone and found out he never placed the order and now they say they want to send it for repair some place in Texas. They did offer the rent me a phone for 29.00 while I wait for repair. I told them no rental for me. How bad is that, a hardware issue and they say they are going to send a new phone and never do then they offer a repair and to rent me a phone. I was wondering if anyone had sent in the phone for this issue yet. I do not think I am going to send it in and I think I am going to get my refund while I still can. I just thought I would check to see if anyone had sent the phone in for repair yet and how it worked out.
    Andrew

How are any of us (Apple users just like you) supposed to have any idea?
We weren't there.  We don't know the specifics of what happened to your iPhone.
Ask the store that repaired it.

  • Headphones volume controller not working on new macbook pro

    Hello,
I recently purchased a new macbook pro (15" late 2013) and just noticed that when plugging my headphones (beats solo HD), the volume controller in the headphones doesn't change the volume of the laptop. The headphone controller works fine on my iphone, and on my older macbook pro (2010, running on mavericks too). I checked the Sound settings under System Preferences, and under the Input tab, the new macbook doesn't recognize the headphone microphone either, which my old macbook pro still does. In terms of sound, the headphones work well, and under the Output tab, the Headphones appear, as normal. The sound can also be adjusted using the keyboard keys and the volume adjust on screen, but not with the headphones volume controller, which seems odd to me.
Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks for your time!
    Melissa

    Hi,
I also noticed this... when I use my old earphones (the white Apple ones that come with the iphone) on my new laptop, everything works fine, including the microphone, volume control, skipping songs... etc. But my other headphones are not recognised at all, just as audio output and nothing else.
My old macbook, however, still fully recognizes both my old earphones and my "troublesome" Beats headphones, even after the latest system update, as does my iphone
So I still don't know what is happening.
Just telling you this so that you make 100% sure your earphones are faulty before discarding them!

  • Is anyone having volume issues with the new Iphone 4S?

Is anyone having volume issues with the new Iphone 4S?

Yes, the volume on my iPhone 4s will max out without me touching any button or setting.  When opening mail, for instance, the ringer icon will appear and the volume level goes to max volume - and I'm not touching the volume buttons.  It seems to happen randomly, at least I can't identify a pattern, but thankfully it doesn't happen all the time, but at least once a day.
    Anyone else seen this?

  • Garageband/logic volume issue

ok so.... i basically finished the pre-production of my album and everything sounds absolutely fantastic.... through garageband and logic that is. when i export the song to itunes or my desktop, everything is very distorted. i understand that this is a volume issue. when i have "auto-normalize" on, everything sounds just the way it should but very quite. so, in an effort to make it louder, i turn off this option. the volume level returns to normal but everything is distorted. how can i fix this? can i have some examples of EQing, compression, and filtering? i am recording through a Lexicon lambda into my iMac 24 inch.

none of the tracks clip at all throughout the songs. ive messed around with all EQ settings and compression but it still sounds distorted when i export it. all im trying to do is export the song and the same quality it was at in garageband... if i out the song through logic or protools, will it help my problem?

The phone may be stuck in headset mode. Rapidly plug and unplug a headset 10x to free up the switch inside the jack.
