Heads up! A new video tutorial

The inimitable Izzy has just issued a new video tutorial on the Travel Matte Alpha. He demonstrates its utility to place video within text, but obviously it has other uses.
The tutorial is free.
Under the agreement terms of this Forum, I cannot provide a link, but Izzy Video is not hard to find.
I do not stand to benefit from this post.
Have fun.
Allosaurus

Allosaurus,
Someone must have looked at your post and clicked the "Report this post" button, perhaps accidentally. Or maybe they knew that Izzy Video is a membership site that charges a membership fee, but not knowing that Izzy also provides +high quality, free tutorials!+ Either way, I wouldn't worry about or be offended about being contacted by Apple on this.
Your participation is great, you have no financial interest in Izzy Video that I know of, and if you provided a link to Izzy Video's website you are certainly not the first to have done so! I think the email was unwarranted.

  • Jeff + Michael 'New Video Tutorial' ?????

Did I read a while back that Jeff and Michael had (were) producing a new video tutorial concerning LR called something along the lines of 'From Shoot to Print'? Have I got this all wrong, and if not, anyone else heard about it and when/if we can expect it? Perhaps Jeff will be so kind as to jump in here. :-)

    Ian
Thanks for that. I raised it here due to the many problems people appear to be having with their prints - especially with Epsom printers. Whether or not this is due to incorrect profiles, a fault with several Epsom printers, failing to set up LR correctly or a combination of each is anyones guess, but as Jeff appears to be using Epsom printers it would be nice to know whether the tutorial video will go into detail (visually) of how he sets the entire thing up.
It might just give those having current printing problems something to look forward to, and others (like me) who are considering upgrading their current printers a better reason not to shun Epsoms. :-)

  • New this week: video tutorial by Colin Smith

    Hi all,
Colin Smith did a video tutorial for pre-release users a little while ago. It's a passionate introduction to SpeedGrade. The feedback to it was so overwhealmingly positive that we decided to put it on Adobe TV without altering it. I highly recommend watching it, in particular if you're just about getting started or recently switched to SpeedGrade:
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/no-stupid-questions-with-colin-smith/introduction-to-speedgrade/
    Also new this week:
new help topic: EDL Conform http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/speedgrade/using/conform-edls.html
new help topic: setting up dual displays http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/speedgrade/using/dual-displays.html
updated: list of supported file formats http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/speedgrade/using/file-formats.html
If you have feedback to either one of the topics please post it here.
    Thanks!
    Pat

    Thanks, Mac,
Sorry I didn't see that.  I guess that you can put that down as your good turn for the day, helping an old blind man across the street.  Err, read the text, that is.

  • ANN: Video tutorial for defining a PHP local testing server on Windows

I have created a video tutorial to show how to define a PHP

testing server on Windows. It's just under 8 and a half
    minutes, and can

I made it for Windows only to avoid confusing viewers with

  • Where can I find a video tutorial for 5.5?

Where can I find a video tutorial for 5.5?
I am a Soudbooth user in CS4. When I upgraded to the master suite 5.5 soundbooth was not in the package, but Audition was.

There's a new webinar that is coming up soon (2012-01-18) by Larry Jordan: http://www.larryjordan.biz/webinars/#0118
We have several on Adobe TV: http://tv.adobe.com/product/audition/
There's some tutorials on Lynda.com, although they're for the older versions of Audition, they should still be mostly applicable: http://www.lynda.com/Audition-training-tutorials/159-0.html

Ok thanks for quick reply.      I've posted the debug info below.  What happens is - I can connect with another user but the connection dies after a very short period of time........we have tested it and we like to conference. it seems that when we are conferencing with audio and video the room disconnects.
Both names dissapear from the listbox .  Chat and camera buttons are disabled.  Then when I try to reconnect right away my user name does show up in the list box. the chat button stays disabled and the camera button stays disabled.  the audio button is enabled but when i click it, it give this pop up error message
Error: AudioPublisher: The stream cannot be published because user does not have permission.

  • Adding more RAM video tutorial?

Not long ago I added another hard drive to my Mac Pro and to do it I reviewed a Quicktime video that offered step by step instructions. It worked great. I found it somewhere on the web but I don't know or remember where.
Now I want to add more RAM and it has arrived from Crucial but their online picture instructions appear to be for the older PPC machines and not the newer Intel Macs.
I'd like to try and find a video that would show me where to find the RAM on my Mac Pro and how to install it.
Does anyone know where I might find a quick video tutorial?
    John

Okay, additional 2 gigs are installed. Tell me if this is the correct setup:
    DIMM Riser A/DIMM 1 1GB DDR2 FB-DIM 667MHz OK
    DIMM Riser A/DIMM 2 1GB DDR2 FB-DIM 667MHz OK
    DIMM Riser A/DIMM 3 512MB DDR2 FB-DIM 667MHz OK
    DIMM Riser A/DIMM 4 512MB DDR2 FB-DIM 667MHz OK
    DIMM Riser B/DIMM 1 512MB DDR2 FB-DIM 667MHz OK
    DIMM Riser B/DIMM 2 512MB DDR2 FB-DIM 667MHz OK
DIMM Riser B/DIMM 3 Empty Empty Empty Empty
DIMM Riser B/DIMM 4 Empty Empty Empty Empty
If so - if I buy two more 1GB sticks do I shift the 512 from A/3 and A/4 and move to B/3 and B/4 then place 1GB each in A/3 and A/4?
    Thanks,
    John

I am not getting any message related to connection.  And yes, the username and password are correct; I just removed them for privacy.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,

Hi Kevin (and welcome to the forums!),
Wow, that's a trip... ConnectSessionContainer is a visual component, so I
guess it needs to be outside your <fx:Declarations> tags. I didn't know that
putting it in there would cause all hell to break loose (I love how the
number of bytes keeps changing!); you learn something new every day!

  • Photoshop Help | New video features in CS6

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/new-video-features-photoshop-cs6.html

The heading says "import." But the actual technique to bring an audio file into a video project in PS CS6  is to use the "Add Audio" command accessed via the drop-down triangle in an Audio track. That opens the Add Audio Clips dialog box. But WAV is not a file type available to be added to an audio track. If you choose the Open menu command, you'll find that WAV files also are not available to be added via that route as well.
If you do as JJ Mack suggests and drag a WAV file to the document window, it will show up in the Layers panel and it will be added to the Timeline as if it were a video clip. And, even though WAV files are not supported, the audio will play. So, JJMack's method is a work-around for the failure of PS to support WAV files via the Add Audio technique.

  • Video Tutorial to help you understand how to make DVD menus

    Hi,
I'm quite certain that most of the people on this forum already know what I'm going to share here, and if it has already been shared before, I'm sorry about that. There are, however, always people that are new to Premiere and encore, and don't have a clue yet what they are doing. That was me not so very long ago. Here is a website you can go to and download a very good professional DVD menu that you can use to create  DVD's. Once downloaded, you can take it apart and see how it was created. http://www.eyescreamfactory.com/downloads_dec.html
If you are also like me a very short time ago, you will have no idea what to do with it once you have downloaded it. OK, then go to this website. http://www.eyescreamfactory.com/help.html   At the top of the page you will find a link to a video tutorial where you can learn what to do with it. It's very good, and watching someone do something is a lot easier than reading about how to do it.
Hope this helps someone else as much as it helped me.

    Hi Bill,
If it is possible that I've helped you even a little, I'm very glad, because you have helped me a
great deal with problems I've had in the past, and I thank you very much. Terry

    Hi David
If an online converter suits you, try Flabaco - www.flash-banner-converter.com
It converts SWF to Video, generating three formats - MP4, OGG and WebM.

  • Laptop virgin needs quick start video tutorial

One thing leads to another - new Mac!
Just ordered new monitor for my Mac Pro ("beheaded" yesterday afternoon). I tried using my old (2003) eMac I've been keeping for (wireless) backup but it too suddenly (first time ever) developed "problems."
Long story: but I ended up buying a new MacBook last night (15 min. b4 closing) at the Apple Store.
As my subject line says, I'm a "virgin" to laptops. So far, I've managed to bungle my way through quite a lot of stuff (including wireless connection, email & browser setups, etc). But I'm sure I'd be less clumsy (less frustrated too) if I could watch a video tutorial on how to operate this lil' thang.
Mainly - need to know better how to navigate with this track pad thingy. I do have a (leftover) mouse I can use but also realize these MacBooks are shipped w/o them for a reason.
Mostly, it's the moving of the cursor, targeting the item and executing the "open" process via the track pad: lots of misses, resulting in "wrong menu" "wrong application" opening.
Anyone know of any video tutes for newbies? I did check the "new to mac" pages but saw nothing specific to laptop "general operations."
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Macnoel--
Welcome to the wonderful world of the MacBook!
While I don't have any video ideas, I can tell you that simply working with the trackpad is the easiest, fastest way to go. You have a weekend in front of you; take some time and play with one, two and three finger swipes. After a few weeks, you'll wonder why anyone still uses a mouse.
I could also tell you to read the instructions--but you knew that.
    Have fun!
