Heads up for UK users: £65 from Amazon for PRE/PSE bundle
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9 Bundle (PC/Mac)
That's pretty much simplified my decision. I wanted PSE9 but was not so keen on PRE9 because of performance issues on my Quad Core PC. But it didn't look as though I could have PSE9 integrate with PRE7 so I was thinking I'd wait until next year for v10.
But if you look here you can see that Amazon are only charging an extra £7 ($10) for the PRE element (and their PSE9 price was already one of the better ones in the UK). It's probably because PRE9 is getting some pretty damning feedback.
So my order is in. I'm not sure how much use I'll make of PRE9, but for £7 it's there if I need it and, hey, I'll be able to contribute to v9 questions raised on the forum

Yep, that's good news for the UK users.
Indeed, I have a Intel i7,12 GIGs, with 8 processors and I've had some issues with PE9 today. Yeah, I have all the latest videos/sound drivers, etc... but I couldn't figure out my crashes as I'm losing my patience and I'm not even a doctor! ;-) hehe After two crashes... I was going to go back to PE-7 or 8, so I finally cracked open Premiere Pro CS5. No regrets but much trepidation still.
Luckily, I've had a few pints of strong cider at hand to ease me into the workflow! hehehe

So I just bought a used MacBook from Amazon with OSX 10.5.8. I am trying to install new software and operating system, but I don't have the passwords to the Users set up in the computer. What do I do?
Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart. -
When I try to open the Adobe software, it asks from the Redemption Code when on an Adobe web site. The instructions that came in the download say that this is a 24 digit code of numbers and letters. The only thing I got from Amazon was an Order Key, which is also 24 digits, but only numbers and the software didn't like that code… I walked through the steps on the Adobe web site to get my redemption code, but the final step before giving me my redemption code is to enter my redemption code… I have to enter the code for them to give me the code…??? Am I missing something??? Do I get this "Redemption Code" from Amazon, or from Adobe?
You would get the redemption code, or perhaps even the serial number, from whomever you purchased the software from, apparently Amazon, so talk to them. This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sold something that didn’t have all the numbers needed to license it.
A redemption code is something that is usually on the inner disc packaging if you purchase the media in a box, and there is a barcode on the outside of the packaging that must be scanned at the checkout register to activate the hidden inner code so you can redeem it at home on that website. This is what happens if you buy PSE from a brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy. I don’t’ know what happens if you purchase the downloaded version as I have never done that.
A redemption code is 24-digits of letters and numbers that you enter into a website to get a serial number, once and only once. The serial number of only 24-digits, no letters, is what you enter into the software during the install or when you run it and it asks if you want to register or run in a trial mode—whatever the exact phrasing is.
In any case it sounds like you don’t have either a redemption code or serial number—although perhaps something is listed on the purchase confirmation or your account online at Amazon or even in an e-mail from Amazon. -

I've never heard of buying software as a download from Amazon. Why would you buy there instead of getting it directly from Adobe?
Was it by chance through a 3rd party seller, not Amazon themselves?

The finder window for an external USB hard disk suddenly started separating files by time (today, yesterday, etc.) and stopped allowing me to change column width, order, etc. Also the header bar shifted to flat white from gray.
All was normal until the icon for the disk stopped showing up on the desktop when I would plug it in. I rebooted the computer, and the disk icon now shows up but this new look to the finder window started as a result. The hard disk does not have this problem when I use it on another Mac running Snow leopard. Also, two other external hard disks that I use on this computer running lion 7.4 still have the normal header bars with columns that can be reordered, etc.
I have tried looking in preferences and other places but have not seen this discussed.Well duh - I finally figured out that somehow in the View options for the hard drive, the "arrange by" option had been changed to "by date" from "none". Not sure how that happened, I had never used the "view options" menu tem before. Changing "arrange by" back to "none" gets the gray column headers and the collapsible folder icons back.

I just installed Lightroom 5 from Amazon for my Mac with 10.10.1 software. When I open it I get: "An error occurred when attempting to change modules". It won't import photos and has no side panels under Library. What should I do?
I Nearly bought from Amazon too but I found a thread from Adobe stating that the only recognized outlet for lightoom is themselves and other outlets serial numbers will not be guaranteed.

ISE and 802.1x - Retrieve User Cert from AD for Auth without it being in the Personal Store?

We are implementing 802.1x EAP-TLS wired at the moment with Cisco ISE, and wireless is to come after that, along with our internal PKI. I set up the PKI, and our network engineer is setting up the ISE. We currently have it set to first authenticate the computers with a computer certificate (allowing access to AD, among some other things), and then further authenticate the users with user certificates.
I don't have much knowledge of Cisco ISE, and plan to learn as we go, but I'm wondering:
Is it possible to authenticate the computer via the computer certificate, getting access to AD, and then have the ISE check AD for the User certificate INSTEAD of the User certificate being in the local Personal store of the client computer? We have autoenrollment going for user certificates, but it seems to be cumbersome (in thought) that once 802.1x is enabled, a new computer/employee coming on the network has to first go to an unauthenticated port to be able to download the User certificate in the Personal store, before then being able to use an 802.1x port?
I guess that makes two questions:
1) Can ISE pull the user cert from AD, without needing it in the local Personal store?
2) What's the easiest way to handle new computers/users that don't already have the User cert in their local Personal store once 802.1x is enabled?1)No
2)Use EAP-Chaining with EAP-TLS and PEAP
For this scenario, i would go with Cisco AnyConnect NAM, and then use EAP-Chaining, with EAP-TLS for machine auth, and then PEAP for user authentication. This way you can make sure that both the machine and the user is authenticated, and more importantly, that a user can not get on the network with their user identity only and no machine identity. Using windows own supplicant for this, gives no garantee that the user has logged in from an authenticated machine. The feature that used to be used for this before EAP-Chaining was introduced, is called MAR, and has many problems, making it almost useless in a corporate environment. Security wise, the PEAP-MSCHAPV2 is tunneled in EAP-FAST and does not have the same security issues as regular PEAP. -
i purchased windows 7 from amazon and i just received it. they sent me windows 7 home premium "OEM System Builder Pack". the instructions say "Intended for system builders only". also says " must be per installed on the hard drive of a fully assembled computer system, using the OEM Preinstallation kit (OPK)."
System Builder - just be sure to get 64-bit version, no one needs or wants 32-bit today, and only comes with one, while retail ships with both 32/64-bit media.
you can't install it and activate on different hardware later is all, and by then for what you saved, so what, Windows 8 or SP2 will be out.
A few people had trouble with Windows 7 SP1 for some reason and not sure exactly why, changes to the boot loader on the DVD I presume. -

Are you in the US? Not all apps are available in all countries. There is no way to download anything from a website, like Kindle. If it's not in your App Store, you won't be able to have it.

Kindle books are stored on Amazon's servers. If you're looking for backup, they're already backed up there. If you want to read the books on your computer, you need the Kindle app for your computer, and can then download the books from your Kindle archive. If your computer is a Mac, you can download the free Kindle app for Mac via the App Store.

It is good , if you run utlrp.sql in restricted mode also set job_queue_processes =0 and check no dbms_job running package ( if package is valid then fine ). Problem only come when package/procedure are locked/in use by session. If invalid package are not used by any session then you can run utlrp.sql without restricted mode also. Well you know better you application.
Since you not altering any dependencies, just want to compile , you can run without restricted mode.
