Heads up - LG 8523B Cdrom

Hey Hey,
got the K8N-LSR in yesterday, and have had a whole load of problems. Normally this would be fine, as I expect a few hiccups when moving to a new platform, however we've been pushing my boss to at least start selling AMD systems - and this isn't going well.
Everything was going well, until we installed the Nforce driver, at which point, the CD Rom started screwing up. We at first figured this was a problem with the Video drivers, as upon reboot, the sytem would apparently Hang or lockup just after the Windows XP screen. If we waited long enough, Windows WOULD come up. Further testing showed that once the nforce driver was installed, if a disc was in the CDrom, windows would lockup for some period of time.
checking the forums, I saw somethign about firmware -- though this drive was already flashed to 1.03 -- which is the latest. I checked a second LG 8523B CDROM, with the same results. I then changed the drive to an LG 8x DVD burner -- and all is fine.
Soo, just a heads up -- check your optical drives firmware, failing that as a solution, change the drive / manufacturer.

All you have to do is uninstall the IDE drivers that the nforce setup installs, reboot and let windows install its own drivers. WaaLaa problem solved.

Cdparanoia 004: Unable to read table of contents header

Hi. I've been trying to rip wavs with grip but it was unable to locate any audio cd even though I could explore it from my desktop (xfce 4.10) and I am part of the optical group. Because of this, I tried running cdparanoia from the terminal.
Running the next command: cdparanoia -vsQ displays the next warning:

if I try to listen a track from an external application like mplayer it won't play any audio but if I manually locate the audio and choose them an application to play, they will. Also, the hardware itself is functional since I ripped music from a debian squeeze (dvd) installation.
Finally If it's useful, I used gvfs and exec ck-launch-session dbus-launch startxfce4 in my .xinitrc to mount usb and other devices automatically

You removed all mailboxes (.mbox files) located within this problem account named folder at Home > Library > Mail and the same occurs when re-launching Mail?
The TableofContents file is a package file for a .mbox so it is hidden.
I'm not sure how you removed all mailboxes for this account but quit Mail first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account). Move the account named folder to the Desktop.
Launch Mail and if it launches successfully without locking up and quitting, a new account named folder will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder.
All email clients have limits and the recommended size limit for a Jaguar or Panther mailbox is 1GB and for Tiger Mail, 2GB.
An "overstuffed" mailbox issue can occur at any mailbox size (which means the mailbox has some corruption and/or is over the recommended size limit) but is more likely to occur depending on the number and size of message attachments contained in a mailbox and especially as a Jaguar or Panther mailbox approaches or exceeds 1GB in size.
Since an account's Inbox mailbox is usually the most active mailbox, it is not a good idea to use an account's Inbox mailbox as the final storage location for all received messages not deleted.

Missing /dev/cdrom and /dev/sr0

I cant read any CDs and have no idea why.

I'm develop an application that use audio mp3 file in a CDROM
the problem is
that when I call to my movie the audio load stop the movie
until the audio
is loaded. I' using Xtras mediaplayer to control cuepoints,
also when I move
to a cuepoint a delay happen.
Do you know how to fix the code to load better?

Help! itunes has stopped my CDROM working

I recently purchased a new laptop (Packard Bell EasyNote). After i installed itunes my CDROM drive stopped working. It is still spinning the discs, but in device manager it says that the Windows cannot find the hardware device? How can I solve this problem? Please help - I've already restored the laptop three times now!

(2) what other CD burning/ripping software do you have installed on the PC? could you head into the "about" screen in the packages to let us know the precise name and version number of the package?
(3) what other non-MicroSoft CD burning/ripping software have you ever

on the PC? can you tell us the names (and version numbers if you still have a reference for that)?

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
On the device status of the hp BD ROM. Windows 7. Hp Pavilion dv6 notebook.
Have tried Microsoft fixit
Have tried uninstall and reinstall
Nothing seems to make a difference.

Hp DVD A DS8A8SH SATA CdRom Device has stopped working code 19

MY HP laptop has a problem. The DVD reader/writer has stopped working.

Kt333 Ultra 2 + Msi 52x Cdrom = Problems

im running the kt333 ultra 2 mother board, and have bought an msi starspeed 52x cdrom, problem i am having is that when it boots up, and scans the Ide's it throws out a bunch of ascii characters for the cdrom, in the bios, if i set that sec ide master to cd/dvd it wont find one, if i let it auto detect, it shows the strange ascii art. any ideas why to msi products wont work together?

Can you list out your IDE devices such as :
IDE 1 master : ......
IDE 1 slave : ....
IDE 2 master : ....
IDE 2 slave : ...
(RAID) IDE 3 , IDE 4... etc
Also, tell us how you connect the IDE cable(s). Is it 80-conductors or 40-conductors type? Blue header on the motherboard?
And also how do you set the jumpers on all the drives, Master, Slave, or Cable Select?
Your issue here might be something wrong with all these settings, such as wrong cabling, wrong jumper settings, etc.
Please give us the information so we can sort this out.

Edge e530 cdrom screw removal

Hello,
I was trying to place a 2nd hdd to my thinkpad edge e530 so I had to first remove the cdrom drive.
However, I couldn't remove the screw that holds the cdrom which according to the manual is this type:
M2 × 3 mm, wafer-head, nylon-coated [1] (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/pd023403)
I tried with the smallest screwdrivers I had, but it wouldn't turn at all and seems to have some tear on it now.
What kind of screwdriver do I need for this?

Just a small bump, I have the same problem with my Lenovo S440. I plugged in an m.2 SSD, closed it up. The SSD didn't seem to be connected correctly, so I tried to open it up again and 1 screw just totally warped. I did use the correct screwdriver, it's actually exactly the same one as the Lenovo engineer who repaired my laptop yesterday used. I can probably drill it out without doing any damage, but if anyone has a better solution I'd like to hear it. I'm also looking for some replacement screws (the size/type isn't mentioned in the replacement manual, but I' ve already opened at seperate topic for that).
I know this post is quite old, but did you by any chance find a way to take it out?

Cost of free goods in header

dear all
i have configured free goods,in the order the cost is coming for free goods at item level and it is not adding to the header cost total.
for eg:i have 2 items and 1 free item.costs r 300,400,500 respectively.
in the header it is showing only 700 as cost.
i observed the inventory doc is posting correctly with 1200(which includes free goods cost).
can anybody tell weather it should add up or not and how it can be done??

or in VOV7 below pricing you find statistical value
Statistical values

There are three options
      System will copy item to header totals
X     No cumulation - Values cannot be used statistically
Y     No cumulation - Values can be used statistically
Check if it is initial for your item category
Standard for TANN is initial and pricing is B     Pricing for free goods (100% discount)

Resetting Header and Footer in RTF templates

Hi,
I developed an RTF template (template 1). This template contains start:body and end body for printing the header and footer in all pages. After printing this template then i have to call another template(template 2) from this. I called the template (template 2) using call statement. But the probelm is that the header and footer of template1 is printed in the output of template2 .
I dont want to print this header and footer for template 2. Can anyone please suggest me in doing this. I placed start:body and end body in the second template with the assumption that 1st template's header and footer will be overwritten. But if i preview then am getting the error

Do you have two templates (template1 & template2) that you want to display in the same document where the pages for template1 has one set of header and footers; and template2 has another set of header and footer?
If that is the case you can simply create a new section in your rtf template so you have section1 and section2.
In the body of section1 you call template1 and template2 in the body of section2.
You can then have different header and footers for the two templates in the same document.

Header information not getting displayed in the lines

I have a very basic question - its very simple but not working for me with so many attempts
My XML structure looks like this . In the RTF , I have header information and then a table for line information looping through G_LINES.
IN this lines table I need the SHIP_CUSTOMER_ID of the header to be displayed. I have tried all options like <?../SHIP_CUSTOMER_ID?> or <?../G_ORDERS/SHIP_CUSTOMER_ID?> , however nothing seems to be working and I am not getting the field to be displayed. Can someone please help?
XML structure is as follows:

Are you grouping within G_LINES? If so, use ../../SHIP_CUSTOMER_ID

Header not getting displayed in the next page in the second table

Dear Experts ,
I have a query regarding Header not getting displayed in the next page in the second table of the main window. .Let me elobrate the issue.
I have a smartform in which there are 2 tables TABLE 1 and TABLE 2 in the smartform MAIN window. TABLE 1 is for pending PO and TABLE 2 is for future delivery date P O separated by text in between.
Now the header for both the tables and the data are getting displayed properly if the total output is in only one page. But If there are more entries in the TABLE 1 the Header for the TABLE 2 is not getting displayed. Header for TABLE 1 yet gets displayed properly in the next page in case of more entries.
Only issue is that Header for TABLE 2 is not getting displayed in second page but it gets displayed if the entries are less in TABLE 1 and the total output is in one page .
Please provide a elobrate solution on this problem as the requirement is urgent.

in first page --> FIRST
next --> NEXT
in next page
page---> NEXT
next ---> NEXT.
you copy the first page main window is the same in next page

Open a query in Excel analyzer and click Save as workbook button(to save as a workbook). The query name should come as a title.

Creating a custom report with detailed header and then associated detail

I am very new to CRMOD, so this question may be basic, but I have not found any good material yet to help me out, so here goes.
We are trying to create a Quote report that will be sent to our customers. The report needs to have both a header and detail section basically as follows:
<Header>
Quote Form
Date:
Expiration Date:
Sales Person Name:
Customer Name and address
Terms
... some other text data ...
<Detail>
Standard fields that define the quote, these are easy.
What I cannot determine how to do is create the header section. In the report designer, it only allows for a Title, logo, and another text line. Can anyone suggest another method?

I do not have the narrative option.
Options available are:
Title
Table
Chart
Pivot Table
Gauge
Active Filters
legend
Advanced
--> Column Selector
--> View Selector
--> Funnel Chart
--> Ticker
According to the documentation, the narrative view should be available from the advanced menu. Am I on a different package by chance?
