Headset for Phone Conversations/Listening to music

I recently ordered the Fatal1ty head set from Amazon. The sound has been good, though less rich than I might have expected (I assume this is because of the focus on gaming sound over music sound).
I cannot get the mic to work at all. I've turned it on (on the cable), and I've triple checked how I've plugged into my mac (imac). It has two 1/8in male inputs, one for mic and one for headphones. The headphones work well but the mic is not picking up at all.
1. Do I have to install software for this to work? Firmware?
2. Will this work on a mac?
3. How can I trouble shoot the mic?
Is there a headset that I should be looking at to replace this one?
I need noise canceling for both mic and ear since I work in a noisy office.
I'd like something that can be used for music listening as well.
Matthew

Fatal1ty seem can work on a mac.

  • Looking for non-Bluetooth Headset for phone use only

    Hello,
Does anyone know of an after-market HEADSET for the iPhone with the following characteristics:
    a. headband fits over-the-head with a single ear piece and microphone
    b. connects with wire into the iPhone Headphone Jack. This is NOT bluetooth.
    c. to be used only for listening and talking on phone calls. Not intended for listening to iPod music.
Any information would be most appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Dale

    Hey chirambab,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with your iPhone 4s in regards to audio.
The following resource may provide a solution:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
    1. Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
    2. Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
    3. If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
    4. Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
    5. If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
    6. If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
              - Try turning off Bluetooth.
              - If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    7. Restart the iPhone.
    8. If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
    9. If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, please contact Apple Support.
If the issue persists, please follow the last step by contacting Apple Support for support and service options.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Wireless headset for phone and ipod

I want to know what is and where i can find a good headphone for my iphone that works both for the phone and ipod.

If you want it to be a bluetooth (wireless) one i would recommend waiting till the 3.0 update if at all possible as sereo bluetooth will then be built in (assuming you have an iPhone 3G or iPod Touch 2G)
Your options should then broaden greatly once this update comes out

  • Listen 2 music on ur BT headset (iPhone 2.2+LG HBS-200)

    tap voice mail
then tap audio on the right hand top side
    tap your bt headset
    then tap home button
    tap ipod nd play song
    tap home button
    tap phone
    tap voicemail
the phone nd headset-both-plays your song!

    Thanks mcastorena,
I'll give it a whirl. If I could use the headset and headphone feature, listen to music and answer calls even in mono I'll be somewhat satisfied.
I really want to start getting some audio books onto my iPhone but I don't even know how to find free ones and get them to end up in the Audiobooks section of my Mac's iTunes library. G4 iMac 1GHZ 10.4.11.
I tried with some books that read in the Mac voice, they are mp3s. I know I went slightly off-topic but I hope someone will ignore that and point me in the right direction.

  • Bluetooth and listening to music

I'm having intermittent problems with my iPhone restarting music play after I receive a call via Bluetooth while in my car. This issue only occurs when I’m connected via Bluetooth. For example, while listening to music via my iPhone in my car, a call comes in and I’m able to answer via Bluetooth paring. The iPod pauses and I’m able to have a conversation. Once I end the conversation the iPod does not restart music play, it remains paused. This issue started shortly after the 2.1 software update. My fiancé has an iPhone and she’s also experiencing the same anomaly, so it probably a 2.1 bug and won’t be corrected until the next software update. Is anyone else experiencing this phenomenon, and is there some other fix?

Unfortunately, I was forced to do a factory Reset. This wiped the device to a new state.
Afterwards all Blue-tooth, wi-fi and calls operated fine.
I would advise that you notify your customers that they would most likely have to do a Factory Reset once they update their device.
All contacts, pictures, data and applications were either lost or had to be reinstalled.

  • Ear bud volume for phone calls too low after 3.1 update

The phone volume on my ear buds was great, until I updated to 3.1 for my 3G. Now it's barely audible for phone conversations. Turning up the volume is not helping. Is there any one else with this problem, and is there a solution? Thanks.

what generation is your iPod Shubes? My first gen didn't have the volume slider without headphones after 3.0 (because there is no external speaker), but my 3rd Gen does.

  • Plugged my headset for the first time into my iphone4 to listen to music and the sound came out thru the phone and not the headset, anyone else have this challenge? Help

Plugged my headset for the first time into my iphone4 to listen to music and the sound came out of the phone and not out of the headset.  Anyone else experience this problem?  is there a way around it?

Sorry saker, but if you have not backed up your data anywhere, and you told the computer, in essence to clear the data and restore it with your iPod data, then you are pretty much out of luck....

  • Can the iphone 5 support two headsets for listening to the same music on the phone?

Can the iphone 5 support two headsets for simultaneous listening to the same music on the phone?

and it will mute a wired headset when connected to bluetooth
using a wired splitter will also 1/2 the volume as well you are putting the headsets in parallel giving each only half of the current sendt from the minijack

  • The left half of the speaker on my iPhone 5 doesn't work when I listen to music or watch videos, it's it the phone(only had it for 3 months) or is it some sort of software problem?

I've had the iPhone 5 for about 3 or 4 months and today I noticed that no sound comes out of the left side of the speaker when I'm listening to music or watching something on Netflix
Is it a problem with the actual phone or is it some sort of glitch?

If you are referring to the "speakers" along the bottom, there is only one speaker and one microphone.

  • Updated to 4.4 and now my Bluetooth 'studders' when listening to music and a phone call. Yes I have reset the phone and removed the battery.

I just updated my Note 3 to 4.4.2. Since then when I listen to music or make a call on my Bluetooth my music and calls 'studders' and has some type of 'drop-outs' during the music and calls. This was not the case prior to the update.
Yes, I have power down the phone. Yes, I have removed the battery and restarted the phone. My Bluetooth headset is an LG 730. I tried listening to music on my other Bluetooth devices and they also 'studders' and has drop-outs during calls and music. I connected with a wired headset and the 'studdering' disappeared.
Is there a way to revert back to the previous 4.3 version of Android. I use my phone extensively for business and drive with it. The law for my state requires 'hands free' usage of my phone.

Unfortunately, I was forced to do a factory Reset. This wiped the device to a new state.
Afterwards all Blue-tooth, wi-fi and calls operated fine.

  • Noise canceling for listening to music

    Hi there,
is there any way to use the noise canceling system in the Z30 for listening to music? It is unusually for me that you can connect headphones in two different ways. The headset delivered with the phone does not mute the speakers of the phone when connected. Normal headphones does. Is there a similar possibility to connect earphones with micophones for noise cancelling like seen on the Sony Z2? What can I do? Thanks in advance.

Noise cancelling has to be done with the earphone or headset itself. The noise cancellation is very phase critical. The receiver (michrophone) that picks up the background noise must be located very close to where the sound is outputting to the speaker device.
Noise is cancelled by using very precise audio amplification of the ambient sounds or noise, and applying the noise in exact opposte phase and level to the noise that is in the background along with the sound.
You need a headset with the noise cancelling option, and this should work for you. The good ones are fairly expensive. They don't work 100%, but usually this feature is better than not having it at all.

  • For some reason , when i restore my iphone 4s to factory settings my headphones work when listening to music or youtube videos but when i backup my information onto it , it only comes out of one ear bud and i just got a new one from the apple store.

for some reason , when i restore my iphone 4s to factory settings my headphones work when listening to music or youtube videos but when i backup my information onto it , it only comes out of one ear bud and i just got a new one from the apple store. my old iphone 4s audio jack was messed up but i just got a new one with my warranty , can anyone help me please.

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.
