  • IPhone Headset Mic Doesn't Work

The mic on my iPhone 3G headphones (original) and a new set of Seinheiser headphones for the iPhone 3G do not work. By pressing the mic button I should be able to resume/pause playback on the iPod but need to get the phone out of the pocket to use the functions from the screen. Is this a glitch that needs to be looked at under warranty?

    It worth trying! Yeah...

  • A mic doesn't work. Adobe Flash Player camera and microphone exceptions are different. Please, help!

    Hello!
The trouble began in Google Hangouts on Air. When I'm in conference room I read that my mic doesn't work. I checked settings, chose "default" one time and my microphone name another time. Both variants don't help. On the right end of an address bar I read this message: "this page has been blocked from accessing your camera and microphone". I clicked it, chose "Allow", after reloading the problem returns. Then I went to Chrome exceptions and allowed my mic on the site.
In Chrome exceptions menu I read this: "Adobe Flash Player camera and microphone exceptions are different". Though I chose "Allow" in Chrome I can't do it Fllash Player. I did all the instructions which are given to solve audio problems, but it didn’t help. I also wanted to allow excess for my mic on “Website Privacy Settings Panel”, but I can’t find https://plus.google.com in the list to allow (attach a screenshot). I’m out of ideas what else to do. Please, help!

  • My Headset mic won't work.

Hello Apple Support! As it is in the title my headset mic won't work, and I just bought them today . My headset is: Microsoft LifeChat lx-2000 (yes it is compatible with mac)
    Image
Already done: Went to system preferences====> Sound ===> Input (did not see it in the input but in only in the output)
Plugged the mic plug in the Symbole like so=> >O< (2 arrows pointing left and right and a circle in the center).
    Please help me!

Uhhh, sadly they don't tell you which Macs it works on, seems only the older ones, this from the PDF...
    For a Macintosh PC:
    • Mac OS X v10.1-10.5.x
    • Analog audio input/output ports

  • Just reinstalled OS 10.6 and updated to 10.6.8 and internal mic doesn't work...

I reinstalled the system to try and fix the DVD player, which was refusing to play most (but not all) my DVD's... the new system didn't fix the DVD problem and now the mic doesn't work either!!??!?!?!
    Any ideas?

OK, I don't think I'll be starting that tonight though, might try it later in the week. Thanks very much for the advice, kind of what I expected, just hoped for an easier solution! Mac always seems to go back to "whipe it and start again" - you'd think there'd be some targetted system app testing tool that would help identify probably causes... but there we are, rant over, thanks for the help.

  • Dock Plus Series 3, Mic doesn`t work

As I use Skype a lot, I bought Dock Plus Series 3 to solve the issue with mic jack at Lenovo`s stupid engeneeres "designed" for t420s model. No one profesional pmanufacture produces mic for this kind of jack, and it is always Pain in the Ass to connect external mic to the machine.
Dock Plus Series 3 has normal, industry standard mic jack. I hope it will soleve the issue. But it is not! No one mic  doesn`t work if i plug it  Dock Plus Series 3. Please advice, how to make it works!
    PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE !

    Hey Baramburum,
I could not find any drivers for your docking station, what I can suggest is that you update your audio drives from the link below and you update your BIOS. If you do the update please remove the old drivers first completely and then install the new ones.
    Audio driver:              http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014918

  • T400 Internal mic doesn't work

    brandnew T400, 2 Duo P8700.
The internal mic doesn't work.  I tried to use the sound recorder, and there is no voice.
I clicked      control panel->sound-> recording,   then the screen displays the  interanl Microphone is working.  but when I use the sound recorder, still nothing recorded.
Then I double clicked  the internal microphone -> levels, the drag the bar of microphone and microphone boost all to the very right.  Still the internal microphone doesnt  work.
The speaker is working fine. It is a brandnew laptop.

Good suggestion on removing the driver then clean install the simple driver.
I have been having the same problem with recent new releases of the Conexant Audio Driver for HD on a T500.
Not sure when tech support will get around to fixing the problem. I have tried every combination of Add/Remove, Device Manager Remove, and even Rollback, but the problem persists... The internal microphone gets muted no matter what one does in configuration. You can get playback of audio from CDs and audio files, but the microphone gets disconnected from the system when you install the latest versions.
The following versions will disconnect the internal microphone in T500s:
           v 3.64.10.0
           v 3.64.10.51    (the latest release)
The only stable version appears to be v 3.64.7.0 for T500s.
IBM Lenovo does appear to post previous versions of all Conexant Audio Drivers.
I got lucky, since I keep copies of all previous installs available in order to revert back to a version that is stable.
The suggestion made by this board to install the simple Conexant driver (v 3.53.0.0) is appropriate.
Thanks for the link. I am keeping a copy handy just in case.

  • Mic doesn't work after upgrade to iOS 7.0.2 ? go to settings privacy microphones and allow access( green button) to apps This worked for me

Mic doesn't work on iPad 2 after upgrade to ios7.0.2? Go to settings / privacy/ microphones. Then allow access to relevant apps (green button)
This worked for me on skype, vocal live, mic pro apps

Can't believe this worked! I had same issue since upgrade, searched web, found this... Hoover the mic for around 15 seconds... It only flaming well worked!

  • USB mic doesn't work on MBP?

After reading a ton of threads here on the audio-in issue (the MacBook Pro doesn't accept a mic-level input, only a line-level input) I came to the conclusion I would need either a pre-amp or a USB mic. I chose the latter, thinking it's better to have just 2 pieces of equipment (the laptop and the mic) rather than 3 (laptop, mic, pre-amp). I bought a Nady USB 24M only to find out it's not recording audio either.
    So I'm not sure if:
    A) the mic doesn't work
    B) the line-in input on the laptop doesn't work
    C) I have a setting off somewhere
    or
    D) I misunderstood that a USB mic would work with a laptop
The mic's promotional materials say it "connects directly to any computer with a USB 2.0 input port for easy plug-and-play operation." That's really what I need "easy plug-and-play operation."
I'm trying to record audio in Quicktime using "New Audio Recording." In QT preferences, I've tried both "Built-In Input: Line In" and "C-Media USB Headphone Set." I've tried plugging a mic with phantom power into the line-in (to no avail) and I've tried the USB mic (again nothing). Am I doing something wrong?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
    - Mark

I have a 2.4 gHz MacBook Pro and use an Altec Lansing AHS302usb mic for external mic input during online gaming. It is actually a USB 2.0 mic and headphone combination that works in Windows XP via BootCamp and also in Mac OS X. I have successfully used this mic in BootCamp (Windows XP) for gaming in Battlefield 2142. Works fine - no problems at all. Windows and Mac OS both auto configure to use this external mic and headphones automatically when the USB connector is plugged in.

  • Headset microphone doesn't work with my MBP

    Hi there,
I own a early 2008 MacBook Pro and a Sennheiser PC 350 G4ME. The micro of this headset doesn't work when I plug it into my MacBook Pro but it works on my old Toshiba laptop. The headset connection is made through two 3.5 mm jacks. So it shouldn't work seamlessly with my MacBook Pro doesn't it?
    Compliments

No, it won't. Your Mac has a line level input, not a mic level input like your old Toshiba. You would need to amplify the signal from the headset mic to line level in order for it to work with your Mac.

  • In-line mic doesn't work

I want to speak through the Apple headset (earphone with mic on it) but it doesn't work. I chose 'line in'.

I bought mine earlier this year, before the newer one came out.
Funny thing is, I can choose to speak into the mic on the Apple earphone when I used Windows by Parallels.

  • M1330 mic doesn't work

    Hi!!
I bought the wonderful Dell XPS m1330 and almost everything works.
One of the essential features that doesn't work is my microphone. I saw the wiki page and I didn't try yet to recompile alsa because my speakers work well and I don't want make a mess.
Any idea from who got this pc?
Solved!! In KDE(mod4) to have the mic working you have to set the mixer like in this screen:
    http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/5609/mictm5.png
If you lack something just go in Settings --> Channels and there you can enable the other bars.

  • My Mic Doesn't Work for Windows 7!

My laptop Model is a Satellite M305-S4910 I just last week got my laptop upgraded to Windows 7, but when I use video chat on MSN Messenger or Skype or any type of Audio Recording it doesn't work, or when chatting it seems like my voice is from a far distance, Please I need help, It's the only why for me and my boyfriend to talk from overseas, I really need this mic to work Please help me
    Thank You

Thanks Chen, but still the same result.
I'll narrow down the scenario(actually two scenarios) as per the way it's behaving on Windows 7 machines.
    Case - 1
    1. I do a SetEnvironmentVariable remotely.
    2. I go to that remote machine and search in advanced settings -> system env variables window. Dont click on the OK Button.  Close these windows.
Result: Yes it is there as an entry.
    3. I open up a command prompt and type 'set'
Result: No it is not set.
    4. Again open up advanced settings -> system env variables window. Click on the OK Button.  Close these windows.
    5. Now open up a command prompt window and type 'set'
    Result: It is set now
    Case 2:
    4. I do a system restart.
    5. Open up a command prompt and type 'set'
    Result: It is set now
Any idea why this is behaving like this(more or less like setting a user level env variable), please  ? I've to some way get through this obstacle to advance further. Thanks a lot for the support

  • Headset Mic No Longer Working

As of a few days ago, the microphone on my iPhone headset stopped working. I've tried it on my wife's 3G and it works fine and I also purchased a new headset that isn't working, so it's not the mic or the headset apparently. any thoughts on what the issue might be?

    Hi,
Make sure there isn't any debris in the headphone jack, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802#faq25
If the issue persists after trying the tips in the article, the iPhone will likely need service. You can setup service by making a reservation with a Genius online here: http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ or by calling U.S. iPhone technical support at: 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466)
