Headset symbol

The headset symbol is stuck on the screen of my phone I cannot make outgoing calls or receive incoming calls manually I have never had a headset on the phone any one help me get rid of this and start using my phone

Clean the pop-port (I'm guessing you have a pop-port phone, and I'm having to guess because you didn't say what phone you have).
Moisture and various kinds of goo in the pop-port are notorious for causing the phone to think that a headset is present. The pins in the pop-port that are normally shorted out by a headset in order to signal its presence end up being shorted out by the moist goo.

6280 and headset symbol on phone?

I have a nokia 6280. Today I noticed a small headset symbol on my phone, and I do not know how that appeared. I live in America and this phone was not released here, so when I contacted nokia they told me they could not help me. I've tried contacting the nokia international support number, but that number is always busy. When I call people I can't hear anyone on the other end, even though I am able to dial successfully. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this symbol?

Nokia 6234 - headset symbol - how do I remove?

I foolishly let the kids play with my mobile y'day and now there is a little headset symbol on the screen which I know means a headset has been connected (which it hasn't) and I don't know how to remove it. It's only bothering me because I keep getting a message saying "speak now" and then "no matches" - does anyone know how to disable it? It is a Nokia 6234

Nokia asha 200 - Headset symbol remains even after...

My nokia asha 200 thinks headset is plugged in even after removal. Also when ever i plug in the headset, while music player is on, the song automatically changes to the next. Also when i insert or remove the headset during call the call ends automatically. But if i switch off and on the phone the headset symbol disappears and reappears after inserting for the first time and won't go even after removing it. I have to switch it off and on everytime to get rid of the symbol. The same happened with other nokia headsets also. what could be the cause? How can i solve the problem?

We are working on having a solution for this (fairly common) problem, that the Nokia browser may break after the over-the-air browser update.
In the meantime the only solution are to take the phone to a Nokia Care service point for reflashing or to use e.g. Opera Mini instead.

C3-00 bluetooth headset problem

I updated my phone to v08.63 last night and since the update i can no longer connect to my jawbone headset. The phone was previously set to auto-connect but no longer recognises the headset although it shows the headset symbol on the main screen. Anybody have a similar problem?

Solved. Jawbones support only gave info on a slight reset, but managed to get info on full reset.

I was using the official blackberry headset, and pulled it out. Then afterwards, when I made or received calls, the headset symbols and outgoing call arrows would alternate, and the phone would keep trying to switch to headset repeatedly even though it was unplugged.
It would appear an electrical contact in the headset jack got stuck in the wrong position.

I had a weird issue today and thought I would share in case anyone else has had the same problem.
I was listening to some music on my way to work using the standard headphones and when I got in I paused the music and unplugged the headset. A few hours later I tried to make and receive calls and could not hear the person at the other end, although I think they could hear me. I looked at the screen and the symbol for the headset connection was blinking and alternating with the symbol for the outgoing call.
Nothing I did, including a hard reset with the battery out, fixed it, except when I went into the media player and stopped rather than paused the music - has anyone had similar problems? If so, and you're reading this you now know how to fix it!

In my case, I was not listening to music.
I eventually fixed the problem by pushing and pulling the headset in and out of the jack, in hopes of recalibrating the sensor/electrical contact inside.
I hope RIM will investigate and realize this is an legitimate issue, and then deal with it with the part supplier.

I had the same problem today..I was about ready to throw it! I did the same thing just plugging and unplugging the headset, and finally it started to work.

6233 headset connected when its not

I have a 6233 that hasnt been used for a while but has new sim in and it was working okay
Now it constantly says that the headset is connected and its not. The only way i can use the phone is withthe headset or on loudspeaker.
we have turned it off, removed battery and restored factory settings.
Dont know what to do next.
Please Help

No connection from Nokia BH-214 Headset to Siemens...

I'm no able to connect to a Siemens Gigaset S68H handset from my Nokia BH-214 Headset. Pairing works fine: on the Gigaset the headset is shown with the headset symbol.
But when I press the call button on the BH-214 nothing happens.
I tested the BH-214 headset with my MacBook and my mobile phone - no problems there. I also tried the S68H handset with two different bluetooth headsets - works like a charm.
Just the BH-214 does want to connect. Unfortunately with the handset I can't initiate a connection to the headset (not supported for some reason). But it should also work the other way of course!
What I tried:
- press once (short): one beep, green light is on for 2 sec, nothing happens
- press twice (short): beeps twice, green light is on for 2 sec, nothing happens
- press once (2 sec): long beep, high beep, green light shows once, no light for two seconds, then deep beep and red light flashing once (seems to indicate that no connection is possible)
It doesn't help to try to connect during an active phone call or when a number is entered on the handset.
Does someone have a hint what the problem could be? Did anyone experience any incompatibility with between the BH-214 headset and other bluetooth devices?
BTW: reset on both devices did not help...

I was having similar (DRIVER/BLUETOOTH PERIPHERAL ERROR) problems on win7 Ultimate 64bit SP1 with Nokia BH503 and BH214. Googled too much. Many solutions. But the solution I tried first, worked first and wonderfully, even for both my BT headsets and without even rebooting.
Solution: I found an earlier downloaded bluetooth driver from lenovo websites. Unfortunately I renamed the file, but still I can give you valuable info. Its a lenovo bluetooth driver file of 54,740 KBs (particularly for 64 bit windows, but works for 32bit also). Its installation dialogue shows 'Thinkpad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate (i.e. EDR). Version shown is 6.2.1.800 (7ZBV14WW). I myself tried finding it on google and found very easily by searching for "thinkpad bluetooth with enhanced data rate 6.2.1.800 (7ZBV14WW)".
Hope it would solve your problems and get me the ratings

Nokia Ovi backup didn't work

I have Nokia E6 and my bluetooth was not working fine so I reset the factory default settings and before that I took the back up, but once I restore all the settings everything was restored except msgs in which I made several folders. It say zero (0) msgs.
And I updated my phone also from Nokia updater still same problem....need an assistance from Nokia, plz help.

Hello, i just bought nokia X6 8GB...when i put headset, it become default for speaker.Since that, my phone just didn't work on loudspeaker..Music is played on very2 slow even i set higher volume..how can i fix it..
It just work fine if i put the headset..Only facing problem with loudspeaker..

Unable to hear from ear piece

Hi,
I am using Curve 8520. All of sudden I am unable to hear voice from ear piece. When I check my display screen ear piece icon flashes with headset symbol. This continuously happening till I disconnect the call. I have used my headset & I am able to hear loud & clear. I wish I could get some experts assistance on fixing the issue.

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

next to the battery indicator the 'headset'symbol has appeared and am now unable to hear incoming calls unless I press loudspeaker. Have tried to delete the headset symbol to no avail. Tried going back to factory settings and the symbol appeared again after 15 mins !!! Have tried 'settings' then 'enhancements', but van find no way to dlete the headset from being active. Can anybody help ?

You seem to have a software error, you could keep resetting but if it has come back once it will come back again.
The first thing to try is a software update (see www.nokia.com/softwareupdate). Your phone will be wiped by this process so you also need to back up your personal data (contacts, messages etc.) using PC Suite (www.nokia.com/pcsuite).
If your are still having problems after this, you ought to get the phone checked at a Nokia service point.

Curve 8520 speaker cutting out - flips between headphones and speaker

Hey there, my curve has just started clicking when recieving or making calls. The icon in the top left is flipping between headphones & normal. The store said I need to reset the factory settings which would be annoying! Any thoughts?

If anyone needs an answer to this:
1) Plug in headphones/headset into 8520
2) Place a call (headset symbol should be at top-left)
3) While in call, remove headphones/headset (headset symbol should disappear)
4) It should now be fixed. If not, keep inserting and removing headphones/headset.

Settings on an 1101

I have a 1101 used a standby phone. On the screen display above the menu there now appears an icon which looks like a headset. When I receive calls I cannot hear the other party. Which leads me to assume it thinks a headset is plugged in. I have gone through the various settings, it does make mention of the headset within the profiles but I can see not way of removeing the setting. or am I being dense! I have tried restoring the factory setting with no luck and left the battery out for a while as well. The manual I have makes no mention of the setting, equally the .pdf manual which can be downloaded make no mention. Any ideas.... Robert

A headset symbol means a headset is connected!!! or at least the phone thinks there is. I'd try removing the battery for a while and cleaning the bottom connectors. Otherwise it's likely a service centre job.
