Headset too far from base unit

My wife recently moved her office into an attic room in the house and her Plantronics headset no longer links with the Diverse 3010 base unit, which is where the phone line comes into the house downstairs. In fact the walk-about phone works fine, but just not the headset.
What are my options? Would a new phone provide a stronger signal? Or do I need to get the phone line rerouted? Any other options?

You may have to move the base unit nearer to the office, although you can get a diverse repeater seen here but they are not cheap.

Too far from exchange?

We live in Wantirna South, Melbourne, and for several years now have been using Mobile Broadband for our internet because we've been continually told that we're too far from the exchange to get ADSL broadband. If you keep getting told you are unable to have ADSL the chances are it is truthfully that you are unable to have ADSL, although the distance might not be the only reason at play... it is possible that you are within the capable distance however other factors like noise or signal loss are a factor in the reasoning...
You could however request a connection again, each time it is done it goes to Telstra wholesale who then check to see if it is able to be done. If you do it again, and still have no luck you could raise a complaint with Telstra and they will be able to look into it and provide the exact details for why it was unable to be done (if it is still unable to be done) or be able to get it sorted if it is able to be done....

Recorded sound with mic too far from subject in a larger room. Small echo challenge solvable?

I recorded my actor speaking from a mic that was a little bit too far and in a room that gave a small slightly noticeable echo. Is there anything I can do in Audition CS6 to reduce this "large room" ambiance and give my audio a more professional sound?

Nothing in Audition, no. You could try Zynaptiq's UNVEIL, but as with all of these tools, the results vary from a slight improvement to completely useless. Because the components of the reverberation are essentially of the same frequencies that you want to keep, anything you do at all, regardless of how complex the algorithm, is going to compromise the original signal. They don't even work very well on genuine reverb, where the original stimulus has stopped. I tried UNVEIL on a nice clean 5 second reverb, and ended up with... a five second reverb. There are rumours that it works better on less reverb - but you'll have to try it and see. It appears to contain a subtle masking system of some description, although on the website the description of what it does, like all so-called 'technical descriptions', is only really intended to mislead you.

BOM Unit Different from Base Unit of Measure

1 Coil - 100 Metres (Already Maintained in mm01)
Suppose, one manufacuring item consist of 0.5 Metre of Wire. We want to use Metre in BOM, how can we use it.
Please help, full points if helped.

In material master you maintin alternate unit as meter in plant data/storage 1 as unit of issue This will default this unit in BOM item
In the BOM, in the component enter the above material code and enter the qty as 0.5. system will default meter as the unit of measure in BOM.

AirPort Express Base Station sticks out too far (Solution)

Hi all,
I don't know if this comes up very often in this forum but a problem with having the Airport Express Base Station plug directly into the wall is that it sticks out too far, IMO.
I have one hooked up in my bedroom so I can play music over a BOSE Wave Radio. I have two possible power outlets to plug it into. One is next to the bed. There is about 18 inch gap between the bed and the wall. I don't want the device there because I may bump into it while making up the bed. The other place is behind the dresser. However, this spot would make me have to pull out the dresser a little too far from the wall than I would like. Behind the dresser is preferred because it is the closest outlet to the radio.
Solution: I went to a local hardware store and found a six socket mini power strip that plugs directly into the wall. Here in the US, our power outlets have two sockets lined up vertically. This device plugs into both sockets. The top plug has all three prongs. The bottom one only has one ground prong. Each side has three 3-hole sockets. The sockets on one side are upside down.
With this mini power strip, I can plug the Airport Express Base Station into the side of the strip such that the side of the base station is almost against the wall. Now, I can have my dresser very close to the wall. There is a very small gap between the base station and the wall and dresser to allow it to breathe.
I also plan on using more of the these mini power strips behind other pieces of furniture so that the furniture no longer pushes against power cords sticking out of other outlets. The one downside is that this mini power strip won't handle wide transformer based adapters.

Hi... so i'm sooo far from my exchange ( telephone exchange ), 2 miles, infact.
In away, my local exchange is Southall but fibre optic got installed their and I checked the broadband checker and it said I still can't get it, only Total Broadband only. Then I checked a building right next to the exchange, WAHAY! They get 17.5 mbps just from adsl and get fibre... Lucky.
I live 2 miles away and get only 3.5 mbps, ( WHICH IS NOTHING, I KNOW ) and I can't get fibre optic but I'm too far from the exchange.
So basically, I will always have slow broadband and no fibre unless a new telephone exchange is built or if i Move house. Depressing. Help.

fibre comes to your local green street cabinet then copper to your home as now if your exchange has been upgraded the it is a matter of waiting for your cabinet to be upgraded it does not need a new exchange to be built
if you try the following we may be able to offer yo more advice on if your speed can be improved

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Cannot switch base units on Goods Receipt PO copied from Purchase Order

I am wondering if there is a simple trick or setting for this or if we have to use a UDF/FMS...
When using Uom for sales and purchasing, you cannot switch between Yes and No for base units on the target document(GRPO) when copying a PO to GRPO.
For example, enter a purchase order selecting 'No' for base units and enter quantity 1 for item with Uom case(25 pcs in a case). 25 are ordered. If the warehouse receives 23 instead of a full case from the supplier, they want to be able to enter 23 on the GRPO(copied from PO). They don't want the warehouse staff calculating what percentage to put in for quantity (23/25 = 0.92), they would just like them to use the drop down box and change the base units to Yes and receive the quantity 23 units.
Any suggestions?

How often this would happen? If it is very frequent, my suggestion would be considering it when you create PO. You know, if you could change that option, the link between PO and GRPO will be broken. It is not recommended.

Sorry to be such a moron with this, but I just don't have much experience with this iPad. I have had it for over a year and I just keep adding stuff to it and it has worked great. Now that the memory is used up, I am trying to figure out how to free up space and not lose what I have paid for.
So, Step 1 is complete, as I have "Transferred" all of the purchases.
What is Step 2? I unchecked the concert on the iTunes library, did a sync, but it's still on my iPad.

Not able to select Base unit in Receipt from production and Sales order

Can anybody help me out for the below scenario
I have defined Sales UOM , Sales Packaging UOM, Items per Sales unit and Quantity per Packing UOM for all finished product in the item master.
I have created Production BOM and Production Order (with Issue method is Manual because they maintained items batchwise ) for all Finished products.
Based on Production orders, I received finished products(Batch wise) through receipt from production. But the base unit shows Yes and it is not allow me to change.
In Sales order, the quantity column shows the value of quantity per packing UOM instead of Items per sales unit.
For Ex. ItemA - 01 No (Item per Sales Unit)
                         3600 Pcs ( Quantity per Packing UOM)
                         Receipt from Production - 10 Nos
                         In Sales order - it shows 36000 (10*3600 ) instead of 10 nos
Expecting favourable solution for that.

The selectable units on the sales order are the inventory unit or the sales unit. So if you want to see in units of 3600 Pc-s you should define this as Sales Unit (not as packaging unit). Then you can show the item in this unit in the sales documents.
(In the receipt from production document you should always use the inventory Uom.)

IMovie has dragged photo from iPhoto too far off screen that I cant find it

I have opened a logo within the iMovie viewer screen that had so much black around it that I couldn't figure out which way to drag the photo to find the small logo surrounded by black. After so much dragging around I am not sure which way I need to drag the photo around within the iMovie viewer to have it centered, much less even visible. Apparently, iMovie saves that setting. Now even when I open completed projects where the photo was centered it is not showing it. I think it has the photo so far off to the left, right, below or above that it won't find any of them. I have tried zooming in and out with the photo settings in iMovie. Still nothing. I tried using other pictures very large or very small but am afraid that I dragged the first one around which was about 30" x 30" with the logo only occupying about 4" in the center that I have moved the center too far off the axis that it would be occupying the theoretical space several feet off the center of the viewer and have no idea which way to drag it to get it back into the center. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the quick response. I am trying to bring a logo from a near pinpoint using Ken Burns effect to as big as I can before I transition to a bumper. I did this once before and had the same problem. I finally found the center of the picture/logo by moving it around, trial and error and luck. I have tried to use known good images in place of the logo that went black and it seems they are all showing black as if they are all so far off center they only show black. I have opened finished projects where it shows a similar logo effect and when I go to 'edit photo settings' in the completed project it the image goes (or shows) black.
Now, any project I go to I can't bring in any picture from iPhoto without it showing just black. If you try using a photo in iMovie from iPhoto and put it off center, it seems the next time you try using another one it's starting point is just as far off center (the same point) as the last one that was moved around.
Not sure if I explained that correctly.

Unit conversion from Sales unit to Base unit

HI,
I am working on 2lis_11_vaitm and 2lis_11_v_ssl sources.
Both these sources have quantities in Sales unit.
In BW how do i convert these quantities to Base unit.
Both sales unit and base units are available in the sources. But value avialable only in Sales unit.
I am using delivery quantity from 2lis_11_v_ssl and Cumulative order quantity in 2lis_11_vaitm.
Kindly suggest a way.

You can use the function module CF_UT_UNIT_CONVERSION to convert from one
unit to the another.

BT Retail who offers FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) BT Infinity which is their brandname for fibre broadband, to customers who are estimated 15mbps or above for FTTC.
You can still get FTTC fibre broadband from BT Retail if you are estimated under 15mbps for FTTC though the product is called Faster Unlimited broadband.
FTTC fibre broadband currently enables a upto 80mbps broadband service, though this will depend on how far away you are from the FTTC cabinet and the quality of your landline.
FTTC fibre broadband uses VDSL or VDSL2 signals that travel from the FTTC cabinet to your property via the existing copper (sometimes aluminium) line. The further away you are from your FTTC cabinet the slower the fibre FTTC broadband will be.
However VDSL/2 signals used for FTTC broadband connection degrade far quicker in terms of distance than conventional ADSL broadband signal do.
Generally speaking if your landline is over 1500 meters in length from the FTTC cabinet to your property then you may not be able to get BT Infinity as you may not be able to achieve over 15mbps from an FTTC service.
Here is a graph that shows the ADSL(G.DMT,ADSL2 and ADSL2+) and VDSL/2 (FTTC) signal with distance. Please be aware that all ADSL connections are depend on distance from local exchange, where as FTTC (VDSL/2) connections are depend on distance from your FTTC (DSLAM) cabinet. Though all connection types are also depend on line quality.

vendor send a purchase order for confirmation through EDI, the base unit of measure in the Idoc is PA( Parcel). For this same material the unit of measure in R/3 system is PC.( Piece). I got a error on this.I checked in CUNI, In Unit of measurement ST (PC) is already assigned to unit PCE in EDI. But i dont want to change the Conversion.I need this also and I want to create a new conversion ST(PC) is assign to PA( Parcel).
Please help in this.

Hi,
You are getting the error because as part of the std ( For ALE/EDI) the unit of measurement that is maintained is PC whereas if you look at another unit of measure that you have mentioned, the std doesn't define anything under the ALE/EDI setup.
Because of that all the conversions are coming with PC. So pls goto general settings and check unit of measure menu. There for each of your units, there is a section for ALE/EDI, set up the relevant UoM and the issue should get resolved.

Follow up material with different base unit of measure

Hi all,
I have the BOM with material Mat1 as a component. The base unit of measure of Mat1 is KG.
Is it possible to replace Mat1 with Mat 2 material in MRP once the Mat1 warehouse stock is depleted.
The base unit of measure of Mat 2 is KGK.
The required quantity of MAT1 should be recalculated from KG to KGK accordanly unit ratio.
Please, expain, where does it maintain?

Hello Peter,
You can use follow-up setting (set Mat2 as follow-up of Mat1 in MRP 4 view of material master if this follow-up scenario is valid for all BOM) with discontinuation indicator '1', w/o effective-out date. In this case Mat1's stock will run out (no PldOrd, PR, etc) will be created, and from the date, when Mat1's stock runs out, MRP will calculate with Mat2.
As I told you, according to my best knowledge, you cannot realize this with different base unit of measures. (you have to change the buom of one of the related material masters or create a new material master if you cannot cope with buom-change).
Follow-up group scenario can also be used but I guess different buoms will be a problem in that case as well.
Maybe there are better solution but I'm not aware of it...
