Headsets are still not working under kernel 3.0
My headset hasn't worked kernel 2.x nor 3.0. Btw my headset has worked under the latest version of ubuntu.
The in-kernel ALSA is different, surprisingly, to the alsa-driver from ALSA. For example, I need to install alsa-driver, because the in-kernel code in kernel 2.6.39.4 doesn't use all 6 speakers in surround51 for my Acer 8930g laptop.
So, in my kernel config, I have just:
$ zgrep SOUND /proc/config.gz
CONFIG_SOUND=m
# CONFIG_SOUND_OSS_CORE is not set
# CONFIG_SOUND_PRIME is not set
$ zgrep SND /proc/config.gz
# CONFIG_SND is not set
So anyway, try that, then look at packages.ubuntu.com for Ubuntu's patches to alsa-driver.

Genius Mixes are still not working
I'm still have trouble get the Genius mixes to work in iTunes I do have the 9.0.1 update
Interesting thing I just noticed.
I had problems with notifications earlier, as was already addressed in few other threads, and it was fixed with latest update. And what I didn't noticed at the time was that weather live tile stopped working, no refresh, today I reinstalled weather app, live tile is working again, but now Skype notifications are not working again.
Don't know if it is connected, but just mentioning if it could help, Right now I go to reinstall Skype in hope that notifications will work again. -

Is the Skype team even working on this? This issue has been around forever, The app never tells you of new messages.

350D still not working under 10.4.4 how long are we going to have to wait?
Title self explanatory. I've just downloaded the update in the hope that the 'professional' software touted as good for amateurs too will now be useful. Still getting the brown format not recognised problem. I don't think I should have to resort to hacking the plist to get it to work, Apple should be doing this for me, they have my money. Any helpful suggestions gratefully received.
Lilbandit, thanks for the prompt reply and advice. The site clearly says 10.4.4 should work. So I popped into iPhoto to check and, what do you know, the images appeared; so I went back into Aperture and suddenly, without a reboot (but with a relaunch of the App), the images started appearing fine. I'm sufficiently happy not to ask why this happened, but to accept that my wish has come true!

I updated to the latest firefox about 3 weeks ago. I run version 3.6.12 on a Vista 32 Home Edition.
I have not had this problem before but when I try to access my banking, pay my electric bill, purchase from different websites, pay my isp company, anything with security - most pages are having errors. My banking says I was logged out do to inactivity but I just signed on, other secure pages either say error or keep me in an infinite loop of answering the same pages over and over and cannot move forward.Hi thanks,

Cellular data and whether 3G works on your phone has nothing to do with the phone itself. This is the responsibility of your phone company/carrier and is linked to the sim card that you have inserted into your phone.
You don't need to go to a service centre, but you do need to contact your phone company - cellular data and 3G is their responsibility and not Apple's.
Also, this is a public user forum, so you are not addressing Apple here. -
Copy and paste are still not working even after many workarounds
This usually happens to me randomly. I would say that there is about a 25% chance that my paste works. The copy function seems to work, but when it comes to pasting, my browser does not offer the pasting button and it stays invisible. I have disabled my firewall, disabled my antivirus, resat firefox, started in safemode, disabled all plugins, and even uninstalled and reinstalled java. I have tried everything. This is definitely a browser problem because I am able to copy and paste in any other application with out any problem. I don't like any other browser so I refuse to do so. Please help me firefox team.

Fuji xerox scanning still not working under 10.9.1 mavericks
Mac OS releases up until 10.8.x have allowed me to scan documents to my MacBook Pro from my (USB connected) Fuji-Xerox Docuprint M205b. Since updating to 10.9 and now 10.9.1, the scanner is not recognised. Printing works fine. (My last driver update file was FujiXeroxPrinterDrivers2.5.dmg).

Dreamweaver CS4 not working under MacOS 10.9
on starting DW CS4 it asks for Java Runtime engine 6, but Mavericks has Java v.7 installed. Since Java 6 was part of the OS of previous systems, I cannot install it seperately, besides it would probably cause conflicts with OS 10.9. Do I have to trash my DW, or is there a workaround.

Calendar reminders (notifications) still NOT working, even after 602 update.....
So, Verizon Wireless released the 602 update to the Gingerbread OS for the Droid X, and the calendar reminder popups (notifications) are still NOT working properly.
This is VERY frustrating, as I use these notifications (reminder pop ups) for everything from business related (meetings, etc) to personal (when to take medicines, etc).
It's also VERY frustrating because BEFORE Gingerbread, when the Droid X ran Froyo, there was NOT a problem with the calendar and its reminders.
I would assume that there are MANY, MANY people being affected by this issue...and I wonder why Verizon hasn't "put the heat" on Google to FIX this issue which is clearly related to the Android OS, more specifically, Gingerbread.
I used to like the Droid X very much, but now I'm counting the days until I can get an iPhone. At least you know what you're getting, and won't have an update "break" functions of the phone.
So, Verizon, if you're listening... PLEASE get this calendar notification problem FIXED.
Thank you!!I'm the original poster of this topic. And let me tell you the steps that I went through to try to get this resolved, and then I'll let you know the ultimate solution that I wound up doing and am happy about (but am NOT happy about Verizon & Motorola).
1) updated DroidX to latest 602 update.
2) went into admin partition and deleted cache
still did not work
3) went into admin partition and did hard reset (complete restore) from inside the admin partition
Still did not get calendar reminders to work.
4) went into normal phone and accessed "Restore Phone to Factory Specs" from the Privacy menu in settings. This caused the phone to do a similar hard reset as in step 3, except it also ran the beginning software (welcome to your Droid, we now have to activate your phone, etc).
Calendar reminders did not work. (REMEMBER... when I say they did not work, I mean that the reminders would go off EVENTUALLY , but anywhere from 30mins AFTER the appointment to literally HOURS AFTER the appointment).
5) Created a COMPLETELY NEW AND DIFFERENT calendar at Google under a DIFFERENT screen name/account. Configured DroidX to completely forget the original calendar and to start using the NEW one.
Reminders still did NOT work properly.
6) Once again, tried hard resets.
NOPE. Still did NOT work.
7) CALLED Verizon Wireless and described my problem and they pretty much didn't/couldn't help and said they would "send a report to the engineering team" about the problem.
And HERE is the thing that REALLY BURNED ME UP about this WHOLE ENTIRE DEBACLE..... my DroidX worked 100% correctly BEFORE the Gingerbread upgrade to the Android OS. When it was running Froyo (previous OS), every single calendar reminder on my original calendar worked every single time, on time, every time. BUT... AFTER Gingerbread, it just didn't work. (Don't get me started with the phantom powering on of the phone after it was powered off problem that STILL exists after the 602 upgrade).
SO.......... what did I eventually do??? Well, by this time, I was eligible for early upgrade at upgrading pricing and switched to the iPhone4 (I didn't want the 4S). AND YOU KNOW WHAT??? Using the ORIGINAL GOOGLE calendar that I used before all the above stuff happened, my reminders on the iPhone4 work all the time, every time. These include appointments that I made 8 months ago to new ones that I make every day. And for all of them, the iPhone4 sets the reminder chime off EXACTLY when I want it to.
Now, I realize that this doesn't address the problem for you, Ganamide (who wrote above), but for me, I finally got to the point where I had missed critical appointments with clients and couldn't wait around for the DroidX Calendar Reminder Problem to be resolved.
So Verizon Wireless and Motorola (maker of DroidX) and Google (maker of Android OS) all have "negative points" in my book for allowing such a problem to continue without proper resolution. Apple, on the other hand, gets "positive points" in my book for making a product that is rock solid and works well. -
Even with the 10.6.2 update my external firewire dvd burners are still not working with Snow Leopard but they work fine with Leopard.

Another thing that I have noticed is that if I unplug then plug the firewire cable from the burner back in whilst a disc is in it then it will mount. -
The downloads are still not workin
