Headsets

I have a blackberry curve 8310. I want to use it to listen to MP3 music but the headset that came with it sounds like crap. I purshased a high quality headset that is disigned without a microphone in it. The pulg size is the same (3mm) but it has only the three divisions on the plug and NOT the fourth one for the microphone. I have pulgged it into my BLackberry and it works. It sounds great. WIll this do any damage to the unit since it's plug only has three sections and not four?

  • How do I use a bluetooth headset with garageband?

How do I use a bluetooth headset with garageband? I can't get it to work after many tries.

I can pair the headphones with the computer but the sound from GB is distorted and muffled. I can barely hear it. The set works with iTunes, but not with GarageBand.

  • Can I use a bluetooth headset as a microphone in iTunes?

Don't know if this is te right forum but its about iTunes!
I am very new to all this "wireless" tech being of the old school where everything had a wire attached but thanks to Alexander Traud I now have a phone, headset and two computers all conversing nicely wirelesly.
So, to the question. I am the aging DJ for our ex-pats club here in Spain and use my white iBook as an iTunes jukebox at home and as the player at the club for my 50's to 70's disco. Its great not having to throw around disks of vinyl anymore and a lot lighter and smaller to carry the record collection too! I was wondering if I could use the BT Motorola H500 headset instead of the wired microphone. I have tried but despite being able to play the iTunes output through the headset (not what I want to do) and the Sound preferences indicate that when I speak I am registering on the input bar I can't get my voice out the headphone output ie. where the main disco amplifier is plugged in.
Can I do this and if so how please. It seem a shame if you can't.
    TIA
    Mike

    Hi Robert
Thanks for answering. I didn't know where to post other than the bluetooth forum which is relatively quiet and had no answers forthcoming.
Yes the voice isn't reaching the amp although it is registering on the input bar in the Sound System Prefs, just won't "play through" as it were. I can't see how it could be done I was just hoping someone might see something I am missing.
It seems a shame that you can't do it as iTunes on an old iBook makes a good juke box for DJ'ing and with everything becoming wireless these days it seems sensible that you could cut that one last wire.

  • Is there a stereo bluetooth headset that can pair with more than one device at a time?

Is there a stereo bluetooth headset that can pair, i.e. multipoint, with more than one device at a time?
Are the MacBook and iPhone 4 capable of multipoint bluetooth technoloagy?
The goal is for my wife to be able to watch her Korean TV soap operas on her MacBook and still receive a call on her iPhone 4 via a stereo bluetooth headset.
I was looking at the Motorola S10-HD but after further review saw that it only pairs with one device at a time.
Appreciate any and all input. My Googling has returned no results.

You can only pair one device at a time to your 8330, or any other phone for that matter.  The "pairings" are saved to the phone, you can use one or the other and you won't have to pair it again.  Once you turn your bluetooth device on and the phone is on, they will find each other again.

  • Bluetooth No Longer Working With Headset

I have a Motorola bluetooth headset that I've used with my ibook before without a hitch, but when I screwed up OS X and reinstalled it (note: reinstalled the operating system, but didn't format) it no longer works with the headset. I can connect to it just fine, but if I try to use it for anything such as switch my audio output to the headset, the program will freeze - same applies to using the headset for input. The headset isn't broken as it works fine with my phone, but my ibook won't cooperate and they are paired correctly. Is their someway to reinstall the bluetooth drivers or something to that extent? Thanks

If you have a headset, why use Raise to speak? Kinda defeats the purpose of the headset.

  • Bose headset no longer works on iPhone 4

My Bose headset, which worked flawlessly on 3GS, no longer works for voice control and voice memos on my new iphone 4. They still work fine as headphones but the microphone no longer is operational. The Apple supplied headset works and if I unplug the Bose set the voice dialing and memos work okay.
But when I use the Bose headset and try to record a voice memo it includes a rhythmic static every half second or so. Voice control is completely non-operational with this headset. I'm thinking something with the noise canceling is screwed up.
Anyone have any possible work arounds?

Ya, this is a bit of a Joke.
I have an $80 pair of skullcandy headphones with Mic that I just recently purchased for my iPhone 3G. When I jumped to the iPhone4 it doesnt work. The apple headset works every time. When I plug in the skull candy, I can hear the person I'm calling but they cant hear me and to add to that, there is this staticy pulsing sound on the line from the headset. If I press and hold the Talk/Music button on my SC headset, the person I'm calling can hear me but they say I sound like I'm in the background. I thought as you did that the mic on the phone was then in use, but when i disconnected the headset, the person I called said it changed and I sounded "Really" far away at that point.
Apple: So how do I fix this? I refuse to carry around two headsets and the apple headset is less than desireable for quality music listening.

  • Headset no longer works with Audigy Platinum dr

I have a Logitech headset that plugs into the headphone and mic jacks on the Audigy Platinum dri've. On Saturday I had to do some work in my computer, so I disconnected the dri've from the card to get the data cable out of the way.
This may not be related (I hope not), but I plugged my floppy dri've in wrong and fried the floppy dri've and melted the wire to the PSU. I got a new floppy dri've and PSU. I don't believe the sound card or Platinum dri've were effected because they both work fine otherwise.
Anyway I no longer get any sound from my headphones when they're plugged into the dri've, but do get sound when they're plugged into the Creative Labs remote control for my speakers. I get no sound from my mic when it's plugged into the mic jack on the Platinum dri've either. I haven't tested it with another jack yet, but assume it'd work.
I also notice in my Windows mixer, that the option for Line In/Mic 2 is no longer there, either in the main part, or under Recording. Line In/Mic 2 is the mic jack on the Platinum Dri've.
The Platinum dri've works fine otherwise. I can use the firewire port on it and I know it's receiving power because I can see the red light in the optical connector. To be sure, I went back inside my computer and doublechecked the connections. It IS hooked up properly.
How can I get the jacks to work again, short of uninstalling/reinstalling the driver? I don't think this is necessary because the sound works otherwise. Thanks all!

The Audigy dri've works from three different cables. One is the power cable, one is the IEEE394 cable, and the last is the data cable. If the power cable and IEEE394 cables are connected, but the data cable is not fully seated, you will see power from the optical output and the 394 port will work, but the inputs and outputs will not work or be seen by the Windows mixer.
I would definitely try reseating that data cable. Also make sure that none of the pins are bent. If that doesn't work, you may want to try moving the card to different slots.

  • I am unable to use my bluetooth headset to record voice memos, is there a trick to this?

I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro+ Bluetooth headset, I am unable to use it to record voice memos on my Iphone 4, using IOS 6.1.3.  The memos record fine when using the built-in mike but not the Bluetooth headset.  Does anyone have any insight or comments that might help resolve this situation?
    Thank you.

  • Play mp3 on bluetooth headset

    Just wanted to share this.
Yesterday I bought a Jabra EasyGo bluetooth headset. Unfortunately, it could not bluetooth mp3 songs from my iPhone 4 iOS5. It can only be used for making/answering calls. However, today I found out that the headset can also play Voice Memos. This gave me an idea on how to bluetooth the mp3 songs from the iPhone to the headset:
Step 1 - Convert the mp3 file from Stereo to Mono (I used Audacity to accomplish this).
Step 2 - Add the Mono mp3 file to the iTunes library in the PC (my iTunes version is 10.5.0.142).
Step 3 - Sync the iPhone with iTunes.
Step 4 - In iPhone, open the Voice Memos. The imported mp3 file will appear in the list.
Step 5 - Turn the headset on (already paired with iPhone), then a 'speaker & bluetooth' icon will appear on top-left corner of the iPhone (see photos below).
Step 6 - In the Voice Memos, click on the play button next to the name of the the mp3 file.
    Cheerio!

  • IPhone 5s incoming call rings on both headsets and speaker while headsets plugged in

Why my iphone 5s rings on both speaker and headsets in incoming call, while the headsets plugged in the phone?

    Hi Lucasethio,
That is expected behavior on a non-muted iPhone. If you mute/silence the ringer with the side switch, you should still hear the ringer through any plugged in headsets as well. You may also find the following article helpful:

  • Ios 6.1.4 Phone calls not working from Jabra EasyGo bluetooth headset

    I updated to 6.1.4 yesterday
I use Jabra EasyGo bluetooth headset.
Music streaming is fine with the headset.
Problem is it doesnt respond to any phone call or dial  commands.
Tried it on another friends iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.3 it works
Please help to solve as I depend on the bluetooth my work drives car a lot.
    Tq

I don't think I can restore the back up from iCloud, because I did not back it up to iCloud before the update to OS 6.1.4.  I don't think this is related to voice samples because it seems to cut in and out, like Siri is not 'hearing' me, due to a problem with the microphone.
    Apple please help!

  • I can record voice memos fine using the built-in iPhone 4 mic.  And my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone Era) works fine when I leave messages on voice mail systems etc. when calling on the iPhone 4.  However, I cannot record voice memos with my Bluetooth mic.

I can record voice memos fine using the built-in iPhone 4 mic.  And my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone Era) works fine when I leave messages on voice mail systems etc. when calling on the iPhone 4, so it appears my headset mic is fine.  I can also use voice activated dialing, although it fails miserably interpreting numbers.  However, I cannot record voice memos with my Bluetooth mic.   I just get barely audible static.  Any suggestions?   Thanks.

Hello, did you ever get an answer to your question? I just picked up a Jawbone Era and using on an iPhone 4s running 5.0.1. Seems to work fine on regular calls, but not on the built in Voice memos application. It worked fine on my older Jawbone Icon, but haven't tested on the 4s or iOS 5.
    Thanks!

  • Can I Return My Headset Without It's Box?

I bought a Logitech G430 Headset on 11/01/2014 and the hinge where the right side of the headset swivels broke. so it's loose and wont stay over me ear so I dont hear through it like I used to and I can hear alot of the background. I registered it when I bought it on Logitech's website and I checked the warranty. It lasts til 11/01/2017. So I can't find the box. Can I still exchange for a new one?

Greetings Starman12355, and welcome to the forum,
Since headphones are intended to go over your ears, a broken hinge may definitely prevent them from fitting properly.  You are outside of our 15 day return/exchange time frame; however, the Logitech G430 headphones you purchased did come with a 3 year manufacturer warranty for parts and 1 year manufacturer warranty for labor.  The broken hinge should be covered if it is found to be a manufacturer defect and not damage, which is why I would suggest contacting Logitech directly.  It looks like you can file a warranty claim on Logitech's website, and if you have already registered your headphones, then you are a step in the right direction.

    Hi.
I've used the iMic myself, and I don't believe it is capable of doing what you are attmepting.
The iMic is designed to provide a USB input for an external microphone, and  USB output for external speakers for your Mac. It has a mic input port, and a speakers out port.
Neither port is specified for use with a gaming headset (mic with headset on a single plug).
You will need to look elsewhere for a USB gaming headset.
    I hope this is helpful.
