Headshot pictures in iPod contacts list

I noticed that in the contacts section of the Extras menu there are what appear to be demo pictures in the upper lefthand corner of the screen next to the name of the contact, so is it possible to put individual pictures of your contacts in their corresponding page?
HP Pavilion zv6000   Windows XP Pro

That was a good link, but it didnt tell me how to get
the pictures onto the contacts. Since I already know
how to sync contacts, do you know how to put the
pictures on them? (do I have to first add pictures to
the photo section or something?)
You add them to the Contacts in your PC/Mac's Address Book (Outlook), then they sync over automatically via iTunes. You'll need to consult your Address Book's instructions to determine. It's fairly simple in both Mac and PC Outlook, but I can't tell you how for Outlook off the top of my head, I don't have it anymore and it's been too long.

  • How do I export a picture from my contact list on my iPod touch?

I took a picture of a friend with my iPod's camera to put next to her information in my "Contacts book" on my iPod Touch.  I then deleted the picture.  She now wants a copy of that picture, and it seems the only place it is stored is in my "contacts."  Any way I can export it via email or directly through a USB port to an email, photo program, to her desktop, anything?  Thanks!

Try Holding the CMD Key as you drag it off...

Did this have to do with adding a contact list to your Skype contacts list, and sending those who were not currently Skype accountholders a contact invitation?
If you wish to not view contact pictures on your Contact list, in the Win7 PC version of Skype, click on Tools -> Options -> General -> un-check Show Profile Pictures on Contact List -> Save.

  • Trouble getting Mac Address Book to sync fully into iPod Contacts

I have a new fifth generation iPod and iTunes 7.0.2. I have had my iPod for ~2months and most of the time I have been struggling to get my Address Book to syncronize into my iPod contacts list. The behavior since the first sync has been that get 18 contacts appear in my iPod when I am trying to get all 331 from my Address Book.
    Things that I have tried...
    - Restoring the iPod to original factory settings
    - Adding new contacts - no change to iPod list
    - Updating fields in existing contacts
    - deleting All (Address Book, iTunes , iPod , iApps, iSync) preferences
    Any other suggestions?

I said that last one wrong. AddressBook accempted all 8,000 of my Filemaker records. It was the iPod that would only accept 4,000 when I sync-ed. Does the iPod have a limited on 4,000 contacts?
Bobby (or anyone)....one more issue. I may have dumb something dumb. After importaing 4,000 records into AddressBook, I naturally wanted to upload to my .Mac site so I could then sync this new Contact file with my office and laptop Macs. My office and laptop are the two Macs that I routinly sync for songs, photos, calendars, etc. Unfortunately, I did this calendar upload last night from another Mac that is NOT used for iCal. So guess what. When I uploaded the contact items, it also sync-ed the Mac's calendar. Since that Mac had no calendar entries, all my calendar entries got deleted from .Mac. Stupid, stupid, stupid. In need to figure out now how to upload and sync ONLY contacts or ONLY calendar items. I'm hoping that when I get back to work (which has all the calendar items in iCal), I can somehow upload ONLY the calendar stuff and have it replace what's now on .Mac. Not sure how to do that, since normally sync-ing involves downloading the .Mac data to your computer. -- david

  • Problem: Contact Headshot Picture Images Corrupted

I just purchased a new 80GB iPod and love it. I've only noticed one problem, and it's starting to weigh on me:
I have a "me" Address Book contact on the iPod and the picture associated with my card looks fine. I decided to add a few more headshot pictures for contacts who are members of my family. I added the images to each of the respective contacts in Address Book and then synced the iPod with iTunes to update the contacts on my iPod.
When I look the updated contacts, however, the headshot picture for each one is corrupted. The top 2/3 of the image is fine, but it then dissolves into mush in the bottom 1/3 of the image. When I check the same contacts in Address Book, they look fine.
I can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm using a 17" Mac PowerBook G4 with OSX 10.4.10 and Address Book 4.05.

i've had the exact same problem on my 60gig iPod video.
i've done numerous things to try and correct it but with no success. apple support said to restore my iPod. i didnt think that would work, and it didn't. after restoring and resyncing all my contacts have varying degrees of corruptness.
it is my opinion that there is a cache file on the Mac NOT THE iPOD, that maintains the contact photos, and that file itself is corrupt. i've not had any success with apple suppport or my local apple store with finding someone who can identify where the images are cached at, so i can dump them and solve the problem. oddly enough a Safe Boot, which is suppose to dump all the Apple caches, does not appear to get this one.
i've even tried to select a whole new image for a contact, but it too will come out looking corrupt.
i agree, it's very disturbing. the other problem i'm having is i now own an iPhone. guess what, the images appear normally on it!!! so that only backs up my assumption that there is a cache somewhere for the contact images that sync to the iPod, and it is corrupt with no way to wipe it out.
if you find a solution, PLEASE let me know.

I'm new to ipod touch, 4g. My questions is how can I download a contact list other than through facebook or yahoo or gmail?

You can sync the iPod's Contacts app with some other contact programs/mail accounts.
Just where do you want to get/sync the contacts?

  • Ipod 5 failure to update contacts list

The following has happened to my 60Gb and my Wife's 30Gb.
We downloaded the latest Itunes and updated the Ipods to 1.2. We received a message that Microsoft 2003 was required to update our contacts list. The contacts list was operating fine we noticed the windows address book was selected in the contacts menu, we selected Microsoft Outlook and when update completed the contacts had disappeared. We tried to take it back to Windows address book to no avail. An Apple advisor suggested saving our contacts on v-cards to the desktop and then dropping them into the ipod. We did this the ipod v-card menu is now populated but still doesn't update to the ipod. Any ideas welcomed - cheers Alan Whittaker

I had the same problem. I have too many contacts to drag to my desktop, so haven't even attempted that. The only thing that I could find was someplace mentioned that if you were running a trial version of Office that it wouldn't update the contact list. I was running a trial version at the time. I have since purchased the full version, but it didn't solve the problem. In fact, it gives me the "Windows has encountered a problem, and we are shutting down itunes" message.
    Good luck, I've given up.

  • Ipod and contacts list

I have previously transferred my contacts list from Outlook 2000 on my windows PC (Windows XP) by way of vcards. It was fine. I noted that itunes now offered Windows contacts sync but it didn't work properly so I deleted my contacts and then tried to sync them in again. Still wouldn't work. I then discovered that the facility is only available with Outlook 2003. I tried to re-establish my contacts list the old way (drag and drop vcards directly into contacts when enabled as a hard drive) but all I get on the iPod subsequently is a note that says " contacts loading 23". I have tried deleting and re-doing several times and reduced the number of contacts from 140 to 23 but it never gets any further than the note to say they are loading. When connected as a hard drive they are clearly there. Any suggestions? My first iPod did the same thing but this one worked fine....until now. I have only used less than 6 gig of the hard drive on the iPod. I have tried updating it and wonder if it is worth restoring the factory settings and starting again.

    What instructions?
In the source list click devices (so far so good) then click the entry for your iphone or ipod.  that doesn't exist. HELP asap
You don't import photos from the iPhone to your computer using iTunes.
See this -> iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Note this only applies to photos taken with the iPhone. Any photos you previously added to your iPhone using iTunes should be copied from old computer to new computer.

Is there a way to get my contact list, music, pictures, messages, ect. back after a FORCED Restore?  After upgrading to the ios 6.0 my phone went into what I later learned was "Recovery Mode" I didn't have option to save info before restoring phone.

Did you not back it up before installing a major firmware upgrade?
Did you back it up EVER?
You can't get back what you didn't back up.
