HeadStart 2.1.2.0.2 and Oracle Server 8.1.5

I can't run fmx, generated from Designer 6.0 + HeadStart 2.1.2.0.2 + patch 10.
Error ora-03114 - "not connected to oracle".
Is it bug this version of oracle server?
Have somebody such problem?

This is not a known problem. The only time I have seen this message is when the login is incorrect. Check the username, password, and connect string. Can you connect via sqlplus with the same values?

  • OWB9i and Oracle Server compatibility

    Hello,
I'm using OWB 9.0.2.56 and I have developed some mappings that work when deployed on a 8.1.7 server but do not work when deployed on a 8.0.5 server.
So I guess that the 8.0.5 server is not supported... is it correct?
I know that OWB 9i release notes says you need Oracle Server 8.1.7.1 but I thought this was referred to the repository version, not also for deploying...
As we can't migrate the 8.0 server immmediately, does exist an OWB version that supports Oracle 8.0.5 server?
    Thanks for any help, Carla

    Carla,
As far as I can see (on the certification matrix), there are no supported OWB versions for 8.0.5 . You will have to upgrade your server.

  • Window oracle job scheduler and Oracle server scheduler relationship

    Hi Experts,
We use oracle 10G R4 in window 2003 server.
From window server panel,we can see OracleJobSchedulerORCAID server is disable. However, I check oracle Jobs from EM.
I can saw schedule jobs are running in there.
What relationship is between window scheduler server and Oracle Schdeler?
As I know we can stop/start window Oracle database serve,r DBconsle EM server and Listener server in window server to control oracle
.Why window oracle schedule does not affect Oracle schdule job?
    Thanks Experts to explaining?
    JIm

10g R4 is not an existing Oracle version. 10.2.0.4 is.
Oracle EM has three different schedulers:
    - dbms_job
    - dbms_scheduler
    - EM's own scheduler. Jobs submitted in the EM scheduler are spawned by the Management Agent.

Perhaps some wise person can enlighten me with the answer to this little question that has caused trouble for myself.
Does anybody know which version of Designer works with Oracle 8.0.4?????
And if you know the answer to this question, then is it possible to upgrade the repository that sits in 8.0.4 when it is upgraded to 8.1.6 - without the loss of any information, is it possible??????

Oracle Doc ID: 51082.1 describes how Designer/2000 1.3.2 is certified against 8.0.4
Oracle Doc ID: 62323.1 describes how Designer/2000 2.1.1 is certified against 8.0.4
I don't know how to upgrade those versions to most current version.

Not sure about 10g Rel 2 (I didn't try it). I used Forms 6i with 10g Rel 1 without problems.
But be aware that, anyway, the combination is not certified.

    Ok.
Once you get this working, I will have some suggestions that
will make this run much faster. For now, I think the issue
is the driver version. We package an old oracle thin driver
inside our weblogic.jar, so you need to get oracle's latest
appropriate driver, and edit the start-weblogic script so
the driver you want comes before the weblogic.jar in the
-classpath argument for the java line that starts the server.

I am looking at the code, thank you, but you still haven't

Hi! I need two more things from you, please:
1 - A full statement of what problem you're having.
2 - More of the code. All I see here is you are getting
a connection directly from Oracle's driver, and code which
    does a ResultSet.getString() call.
I need to see the logic from getting the connection, to creating
the statement, to executing the query, to doing ResultSet.next()
for each row and getting the row data for each.
It seems that this is either an application code or jdbc driver
problem because no weblogic code is being used, so it could probably
be duplicated in a small stand-alone program (without any weblogic
    stuff).

  • Installing Oracle Server 8i with Form 6.0

    Hello Hi,
I want to Install Form 6.0 With Oracle 8i on Server
    mean not personal oracle,
if i install first oracle 8i and then form 6.0 then
they overwrite their homes and vice versa.
What method i use to control this problem.
please help me so that i install form 6.0 on oracle 8i server.
    thanks
    hayat ([email protected])

Install Oracle8i Personal and Dev2k on same machine in following steps
    1. Install Oracle Personal
    2. Install Dev2k (Include SQL Net) and restart the computer
    3. Find file tnsnames.ora
    4. Locate string "TCP-Loopback" in tnsnames.ora
    5. Change it with some other name and remember it.
    6. In the regarding entry (few lines below) specify oracle SID
    7. If you dont know you ORACLE-SID find it in init.ora file
    8. Go to command prompt and write 'lsnrctl'
    9. A propmpt will come write 'start'
    Note:
    1. If you are Installing Dev-2k on a client machine and Oracle server is running on any other machine then Do steps-1,8,9 on server and rest on DEV-2k Machine.
    2. If bad-command occurs on 'lsnrctl' then try to find out the similar exe file in ORACLE_HOME\bin directory and write that name
If you still get some error mail me at [email protected]

  • JDdeveloper and Oracle Designer

    JDdeveloper and Oracle Designer
How does Oracle (and the Oracle community) see the future or of model driven application development and the integration of upper CASE (early SDLC) and lower CASE (late SDLC) tools?
How about a code generator for Designer that generates from old meta-data in the Designer repository into ADF? That will mean that we have the best of both worlds – Designer for enterprise modeling and JDeveloper / ADF for the coding end of the stick?
We have guys here that developed a very nifty PL/SQL code generator on top of a PL/SQL version of the Servlet APIs (that I developed) and this thing generates normal business applications (with very cool master detail, state and session handling) faster than anything I have ever seen. I am trying to convince them to go Java, but with the learning curve and complexity, how? I enjoy Java as a programming language immensely, but as a tool for developing transactional business applications in your average medium sized corporate development shop, it seems like we stepped 10 years back.
Developer productivity is much, much higher using Designer, Headstart and Forms. Given, one can develop such cool user interfaces with clever DHTML, but it turns into an endless quagmire of Java Script debugging.
Where too now? Is IBM and rational perhaps the way to go, .NET, or Sun and JSF? Jdeveloper?
We currently have a home grown network with much declarative features but we don’t have the time to write tools for it. It’s very powerful but sooo hard to use.
Hi ho, Hi ho, it’s off to work I go, I go, I go, I go. In the end we are simply storing and retrieving data, with a bit of massaging here and there. Why must it be so complex?
I would love to hear some comments.
How many of you have got your own code generators etc to help cope with the load. I am talking about regular transactional business applications built on data models containing tables that number in the 100s.
Someone who loves solving business problems - with technology the evil necessity.

Check out the end of the JDeveloper demo page to see several demos showing how-to generate ADF from Designer.
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/viewlets/viewlet.html
If you like Headstart - you'll probably like JHeadstart that comes from the same guys - http://otn.oracle.com/consulting/9iServices/JHeadstart2.html

    SQL> select 'champ1','champ2' from DUAL;
    'CHAMP1' 'CHAMP2'
    champ1 champ2
So Can someone tell me how to solve this problem ? Is there a parameter in oracle 9 to set?
    Thanx.

Whenever you are posting anything over internet forums like this - you should be very careful about not just posting the details which requires to solve the problem - also should be sensible about your question.
This is not at all desired when you are posting such question. It may be because - you may not well aware of the fact.
My suggestion is -> First Go through the basics Of SQL in general.
Then go for any specific product like Oracle/ SQL Server/ Sybase etc.
And, finally learn the advanced commands of that DB.
