Health App duplicating data entries

I use the Livestrong.com MyPlate app to track calories and nutrition info, and it has recently been update to read from and write to the Health app as of iOS 8.0.2. However, soon after setting up MyPlate to write to Heatlh, Health would start duplicating entries 3-5 or more times, such that I was getting absurd values such as "Dietary Calories today: 11,032 calories." The information in MyPlate remained correct. I tried to resolve the issue by erasing all the saved data, but then Health would not read back any data even though MyPlate remained a data source. Deleting the MyPlate app and reinstalling (which pulls the historical data back down from Livestrong.com) did not help. I am pretty sure this is an Apple problem, I did some searching on the web and MyFitnessPal users are having the same issue. Have any of you encountered this and if so, found an expedient work around?

I'm experiencing the same problem with my Garmin Connect -- I'm getting 5 entries for every hour, leading to it appearing I've taken about 20,000 steps. I'd be in a lot better shape if I actually did take 20,000 steps by mid-afternoon everyday, but that's just not the case.
I've been through all the settings on both apps, and I cannot find anything that would let me make any adjustments to how the syncing works.

  • Iphone6 health app lost data

    iphone 6, iOS 8.1.2
The health app has lost all data and will not keep settings to show on data on Dashboard.
I open the health app I get a "Dashboard Empty"  I go to the Health Data and set those items I want on the Dashboard to "show on dashboard".  As soon as I go back one screen the setting it changed to off.

    Hello there kwilson505,
It sounds like your Health app data and settings keep reverting on their own. I would start by quitting both the Settings and the Health apps:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Health app specific date data retrival is it possible

On health app why cant i retrive data for a specific day, it only shows the graph. Only other way around this is to count all the data entrys for flights of stairs climbed that would take ages as i climbed a mountain. Is there a way of doing this.

    Hi Rachel,
Once you open the Syndicator you can create only those fields which you want to be exported in the  "Destination Items" tab.
Just right click and start creating . After creating the fields switch back to the Item mapping tab and you will find all the fields created in the "Destination Items".
Now select the table from which you want the data to be exported from the Left hand side top of the screen . Your "Source Items" will automatically change to all the fields from the selected table .
Now start mapping the Source and Destination . Once you are done goto File and Save the map ( This will make sure you can reuse the next time you log in) .
The Free form search is always available to filter out your data . Once all your Filters are placed save the map and hit the execute button.
The data should come in a csv format which can be opened in the form of an Excel.

  • Health App. weight data how to change lbs to kg

Hi, I need your help, I want to daily add my weight to the health app but it is showing by default lbs but I want it to be in kilos, how can I do that?
    thanks
    Alex

    I FOUND THE WAY!
If you change the region to somewhere that is not the US (settings ==> general ==> language & region) then it should adjust to the type of weight and hight and everything else unit that your country uses!
    hope it worked!

  • HT203066 Health App keeps resetting data and dashboard view

Health up on my iPhone 5s (iOS v8.1.2) keeps resetting the data and dashboard views:
    - when I enter data in the 'Me' tab (Birthdate, Sex, Blood type), the data keeps disappearing when opening the application again
    - adding a dashboard (i.e. 'Weight') the dashboard shows (with no values) and disappears again
    - adding a data point in any dashboard manually does not show.
Also - I am using MyFitness Pal & Withings Health App - no data is showing.
I recently re-installed the phone as new (couple of weeks ago), I re-installed the third party apps (and deleted all data when asked)
    Any hints, pointers?
    Thanks in advance

I'm having the exact same problem. I've even tried:
    1. Turn off all syncing by theirs-party sources.
    2. Delete all third-party apps that might sync data so that the Health App "Sources" list is empty
    3. Reset all settings on the phone.
    4. Reload third-party apps one by one
    5. Selectively turn on syncing by third-party apps and only sync categories I really want to see.
All to no avail. The Health App crashes constantly and when trying to input data into third-party apps, those apps will crash also.
I'm currently trying to sync data with:
    UP by Jawbone (UP24)
    Withings HealthMate (Withings WiFi scale)
    MyFitnessPal
    Runtastic
    Nike+

  • MyFitnessPal creating multiple identical data points in Health app.  Why?

I am using MyFitnessPal to sync with the Health app.  I logged my breakfast this morning using myfitnesspal.com which syncs with the MyFitnessPal app.  In many instances (carbohydrates, fat, protein, etc.) multiple data points were created with the exact same value (i.e. there were 6 data points saying 13g fat, adding up to 78g of fat so far today, which is wrong).
Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to fix it?
I have an iPhone 5, using myfitnesspal.com and the MyFitnessPal app, which syncs to the Health app.

Same problem with the Garmin Connect app... In the Health app, there are 5 identical entries for number of steps every hour, so Health shows me with 5x the number of steps I've actually taken (according to the vivosmart and hence the Garmin Connect app). There are also multiple entries for active calories (although all showing being shared at 12:00am), also using Garmin Connect as the source... apparently, today I've exerted over 12,000 calories!
I've also got MyFitnessPal, and from what I can tell, it appears to be tracking correctly.

  • HT203037 Health app not retaining Add Steps data

I'm looking forward to using the Apple Watch to track my activity when I get it.  In the meantime, I've been manually entering my step activity in the Health app manually.  Unfortunately, more often than not, even if it seems to initially accept the Add Data entry, after a few hours it usually stops including the manual entry in the total displayed for the day, even though pouring back through the data shows the manual entry is still there.
I've tried deleting the manual entry and re-entering it with a different time to see if that matters, but it generally doesn't help.  It's unreliable enough for me to forego manually adding data entries for my elliptical step data, for now.  Unless someone can explain/sleuth out the logic necessary for the data to be accepted as legitimate and incorporated into the daily step total.
    Any ideas?

Thanks for the feedback.  I'll give the decimal thingy a try, although I'm not sure why that might work (a fraction of a step???).  I'm just trying to find out if others are experiencing this weird issue with the Steps data set.  The manual entries continue to remain in the data set after entry, they just stop being incorporated into the displayed totals/graph.
I also note that it takes a full minute, or so, for all the data in the set to be displayed when you want to edit it.  I discovered this when I saw that my manual entry wasn't being included in the totals graph and wanted to check if my entry was still there.  It was.  So, I then deleted it and re-entered the amount with a different entry time.  That sometime worked and sometime not.  I just didn't want to leave the old non-included entry in the data set, once I got a new entry that worked.
It's nice to know the issue isn't only affecting me.  Maybe Apple will now take a look and see what's the matter.

  • IOS 8.1 health app crashes when opening or accessing data

When i open the health app, he crashes when loading in data and overtime i try to open my steps data, he keeps saying loading, the app seems he can't handle all the amount of data. also every time it crashes all my data on the dashboard disappears and only reappears when I'm rebooting my iPhone. Also when i have synced my phone with iTunes a lot of my whitings data is duplicated and i have to manually delete all the clones.
seems apple has a lot of work with health, i hope the problems will be stabilized in upcoming updates.

    Hey there Airpwort,
It  sounds like your Health app is becoming unresponsive only when you tap the Sources tab at the bottom. A number of things can cause an issue like this but the easiest and best place to start would be to quit all the running apps on your phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

  • Health app not showing heart rate data?

The built-in Health app is not showing data from my heart rate monitor (HRM).
I'm using a bluetooth 4.0 HRM (Wahoo Blue HR) on my iPhone 5S (iOS 8.3) The HRM shows as "Connected" in my Bluetooth settings and shows my heart rate within the Digifit and Wahoo Utility apps, so I know the HRM is working correctly. I've enabled Heart Rate Read/Write data for the Digifit and Nike+ Running apps within the Health app.
The heart rate data never shows up in the Health app's Dashboard (or anywhere else in the Health app). Since it doesn't show up in the Dashboard, the data doesn't flow over to the Nike+ Running app, so my heart rate is blank there too. The Digifit app is set to write the heart rate data in the Health app, but that is not happening.
How can I get the Health app to receive my HRM data?

I take it you have already gone into the Health app and set up your Medical ID card, correct?
The Medical ID card will show up on the Lock Screen password entry screen when Emergency option on the bottom left-hand side of the screen is clicked.
It does not show up anywhere if you do not have a passcode lock on the screen.
    Cheers,

  • Looking for a browser or app with one click data entry

One thing I miss on the iPad is the ability to quickly enter information in web sites like my name, e-mail, etc. For example, Firefox for windows has an add-on called "InFormEnter" which places a check box next to each data entry block. Clicking on it allows entry of the information with one additional click. I know that some iPad password managers will remember this info, but most seem to require entering a password each time you use it.
Mercury browser for the iPad remembers data for visited sites but seems to require manual input for every new site.
Is there an app or browser for iPad that will work without entering a password or requiring manual input for every new site?

The subscription version of LastPass has formfill capability and syncs information from your LastPass account that works on multiple platforms/OSs.

  • Share nikefuel band data in health app

share nikefuel band data in health app

    Hello there rcque,
You may be able to share the health data gathered by the Nike Fuel band and app with the built in Health app on your phone by looking at the sources tab in Health, and the settings for your device within its app:
Use Health on your iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 8 - Apple Support
    Sources
Here you'll find any third-party apps and devices that can send data to Health. You can control which apps have access to your health data.
You can also see which apps have access to your health data by going to Settings > Privacy > Health.
And this from the iOS 8 User Guide:
Collect health and fitness data - iPhone
Collect data from a device. Follow the instructions that can come with the device to set it up. If it’s a Bluetooth device, you need to pair it with iPhone—see Bluetooth devices.
Collect data from an app. Follow the instructions that can come with the app to set it up, then watch for a sharing request where you control whether data is shared with the Health app.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Health App Data Source Order With Apple Watch-

I discovered a very large difference between the number of steps counted by Health App and my other step tracking app Pacer.  Pacer was indicating I had 10,000 steps while HealthKit was reporting about 6000 steps.
I then realized this was happening because of the order my data sources were for steps.  The order was:
    Apple Watch
    iPhone
The problem is, the Apple watch does not track cycling as steps while the iPhone does.  Because of this, when the Apple Watch is first in the data source list for steps it doesn’t count those cycling “steps”.  I find this odd since Health App should be smart enough to merge the results; if the watch is reporting no steps and the iPhone is reporting 4000 steps, it should add the iPhone’s steps to the total.
But, if I go in and change the priority order to:
    iPhone
    Apple Watch
then, HealthKit reports the correct 10,000 steps.
The strange thing is, if I’m not carrying my iPhone and have my watch on, HealthKit does properly merge the watch's steps into Health App even though the Apple Watch is second on the priority list.
I’m  not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but it’s important to make sure your data sources are in the correct order.  I’ve gone in and made sure my iPhone is in the first position on all my stats.

Today I did a full restore thanks to this post Health app has crashed, data gone. and some spare time to sit down and do it.
After re-adding the apps to share their data the Health app appears to be working as it was before for me. Hope this helps.

  • Are there any plans to add rowing machine data to health app

The health app is definitely good if your a runner or cyclist, however it doesn't seem to cover logging gym workout data. Does Apple have any plans to add metrics to the health app for these. In particular I use a rowing machine and it would be great if the accelerometer in the iPhone could track SPM and distance. ( ok distance is pushing it) or even just the ability to log the data in the app. This could then count to your daily step count.

It's pretty nice. I'm not especially crazy about the app but it gets the job done. Garmin is apparently releasing an updated version soonish. Check out DC Rainmaker's blog for reviews:

  • Where is glucose data from Health App?

I had been storing my glucose readings in the health app since upgrading to iOS 8, only to find that all the data is now missing is the 8.1 update.  Is there a way to get this back?  I can't believe Apple would remove this feature (which is the only place I have been storing this data for medical purposes) without informing their customers or allowing them the opportunity to remove/back up the data before hand.  Major FAIL!

    Thanks Shishir,
That's a useful table but not quite what I'm looking for, sorry for being unclear.
I'd like to know where the characteristic values for the ECP screen are stored - any ideas?
