Hi,
[AirFoil|http://rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac> might be able to do what you want:
With Airfoil you can take audio from any application and send to one or many AirPort Express units, as well as other local Macs running Airfoil Speakers, plus your local machine, all in sync!

how can i stream video and audio from macbook air to my tv?

Wirelessly: you need an AirPlay - enabled device such as an AppleTV.
Wired: if your TV has an HDMI port, you need a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter such as this one:
Mini DisplayPort to HDMI® Adapter w/ Audio Support
If your TV does not have an HDMI port you will need a converter that will convert HDMI input to whatever input your TV requires.

    Hi,
The first thing I would suggest is to run through the guide by Daniel_Potyrala on the link below to completely uninstall and then reinstall the Flash Player Plug-in.

  • Cannot hear audio from external iSight

My machine is a 2007 Mac Pro octo, 16GB RAM, OS 10.5.2. Software Update reports the system as up-to-date.
I just got an external iSight webcam. It's recognized by System Profiler as model 0x8, revision 1.0.3. (For unknown reasons it's reported as having four sub-units and a 200MB/sec connection speed.) iSight Updater reports the unit as up-to-date.
Its video appears in iChat's (4.0.2) video preview window, and the video's quality is acceptable. The audio meter at the bottom of the preview displays a signal that varies in response to the sound level in the iSight's environment.
The iSight appears in System Prefs/Sound as a FireWire input. The display there varies with the environment's sound level, and is responsive to changes in the Input Volume setting on the same screen.
The iSight shows up in Audio MIDI Setup as a fixed one-channel, 16-bit, 48kHz audio source.
The above tells me the iSight is producing an audio signal. Nothing I've been able to do, however, has permitted me actually to hear this audio signal. Whether I select the Mac Pro's built-in output, its built-in line output, or an external FireWire audio interface, I cannot hear the iSight's audio. Using these same configurations, however, I can hear audio from QuickTime Player or any other audio app I've tried, as well as all system alerts. The problem seems to lie in the signal's routing.
I've followed this forum's maintenance and troubleshooting guidelines, including isolating the iSight on the FireWire bus and repairing permissions from a second 10.5.2 start-up drive.
I've spent several hours searching for clues about what might be happening, but have exhausted the suggestions I could find.
Does anyone have any further thoughts on how I might go about capturing this camera's audio signal?
I'd appreciate any assistance that gets me there.
    Thanks.

    Hello Hominahomina
You sound like an experienced Mac user, and you have tried most of the things that can cause this problem. You probably have already checked to be certain that your iChat > Video > Microphone Enabled has a check (tick) mark.
If so, the next suspect I can suggest for your consideration is a possible hardware or software conflict with your "external FireWire audio interface". Disconnect it and test iSight audio again. If it still does not work, uninstall any software that was installed with your audio interface and try again.
If that does not help, you can use any of the suggestions from How to test your iSight to ensure it is functional that you have not already tried.
If, when you play back the file, you can hear the sound recorded with your iSight using iMovie (4 or later), QuickTime Pro, or some other app that can record audio, your iSight itself cannot be the problem. You may have a corrupted iChat preference file. Try this:
    • quit iChat if it is running
    • delete your Home(User)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ichat.plist file.
A new .plist file will be created the next time you launch iChat, but deleting the .plist file deletes several iChat preference settings, so those you want to be different from the default values will need to be reset.
If all else fails, your external iSight likely needs help form an Apple Service Technician. The external iSight you bought is likely not covered by Apple Warranty. If the seller is not providing you service guarantees or warranty, you may be want to check Apple's iSight Service: Frequently Asked Questions. If your external iSight needs parts that you or your Service Technician cannot locate, http://www.synaptech.com may be able to help you obtain those that are still available.
BTW, your posted system info shows Mac OS X (10.4.10), but you say that you repaired permissions from "a second 10.5.2 start-up drive." Hopefully, your posted info merely needs to be updated. Although we must start from a different disk to repair a disk, I am sure you know that we repair permissions on a startup disk using its disk utility when started from that drive. For benefit of less experienced readers, don't repair permissions for a disk with one Mac OS version (like 10.4.x) when started up from a different Mac OS like 10.5.x because doing so can cause serious permissions problems.

  • Play video from apple tv and audio from macbook , its possible, please ?

play video from apple tv and audio from macbook , its possible, please ?
because i dont have airport and i have a micro plugged to my speakers

If you mean "can I play a video file's video part via AppleTV and the audio part via the Macbook" then the answer is no.
You could probably play the video on AppleTv and also play it on the Macbook and output the audio, but you would have to do this manually, and 2 applications accessing the same video file might cause stuttering playback issues. Additionally you'd have to manually sync the audio and lip sync problems are annoying at the best of times.
If you mean "can I watch a video from AppleTV and play separate music via iTunes on the Macbook", then the answer is yes.

  • Audio from MacBook to TV with HDMI not working?

I recently purchased a HDMI cord for my MacBook, but I don't seem to get any audio from my TV when it's hooked up. I've had no problems getting the image to display on my TV, but the sound won't work. I've already gone through System Preferences to see if there was even an option for output and the only one I saw was for my internal speakers. I had previously just hooked up my computer to a set of external speakers by by TV with an auxiliary cable, but I no longer have the speakers and need to find a different option.
Many thanks in advance for your help!

The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 model 6,1 and Mid 2010 model 7,1 White Unibody have a Mini DisplayPort. The Early 2006 model 1,1 through Early 2008 model 4,1s plus the Early and Mid 2009 model 5,2s have Mini-DVI ports.
The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio. If you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug.
The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI. Check your TV manual to see if it has audio plugs that work with one of the HDMI ports.
If you have the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody or Late 2009 model 6,1 White Unibody with the Mini DisplayPort rather than the Mini-DVI there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.

  • Audio from Macbook to Samsung HDTV

    Hi,
I have this common problem of trying to get audio from my Macbook when connecting it to my Samsung HDTV (40in)
    I have a 2009 Macbook.
This is what I'm using. I'm not great on the jargon, but I think this is a HDMI cable for the video which works fine, but carries no audio.
The problem is the audio, which I have an RCA cable for, but maybe I'm not connecting it to the right place. I've tried all combinations though.
The only thing I can see that may be an issue is everyone seems to talk about red and white cables, mine are red and black, don't know if that makes any difference.
I also can't see anything in the TV menu to help with audio setup.
Can anyone help, it's driving me nuts!
    Thanks!

Or check your TV manual for an input mode labeled HDMI/DVI (it may be labelled HDMI 1 or 2). This should take picture from the HDMI but listen to audio from your stereo audio input you have already connected up.
There is an audio input labelled PC/DVI - is that the one you mean? if you look at my picture (of the back of the TV) it's pretty much bang in the middle of the pic. But I don't recognise the input. What kind of cable is that - it is circular in style....
HDMI 1 is actually labelled HDMI 1 (DVI) (not too clear in the pic)...maybe that's what you are referring to?
I do not have the same model TV as yours, however on mine, the small round AUDIO INPUT jack accepts the same kind of connector as that goes into the computer earphone jack. Therefore I use a cable with the same kind of connector on each end.

  • Getting audio from macbook to TV

    Hi-
I am connecting my video from macbook to Olevial LCD via VGA, I get picture fine.
I'm using a Mini RCA to connect the audio, from my macbook headphone jack to the tv's audio inputs (not composite, the ones right next to the VGA input on the tv).
However, I still cannot get audio on the TV.
I've gone into audio settings on tv but there is nothing that would help.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks

When folks try to run speakers directly with a Mac Headphone output, they are often surprised to discover they will will need a small amplifier to run speakers. The sound output level is very low. Great for headphones. Not great for speakers.
If the input on your TV goes directly to the speakers without being amplified, the sound level will be very low. Can you use the red and white RCA inputs? Some users report better results with those, if present.

  • Fastest way to transfer video and audio from MacBook to TV?

    Hello All,
Thanks for visiting my page. I would like to transfer video and audio from my Macbook mid-2010 (specs below), and would like to do so with minimum lag. I m aware Apple TV has a feature which allows me to do that, however considering it is connected via either wi-fi or bluetooth (not sure which) I feel streaming an HD movie or playing an MMO will cause significant lag and/or a distorted picture.
So with that said, what is the best way to transfer video and audio with minimal lag?
Also, as a part II of the question, will the picture be distorted regardless if my TV is 60 inches?
    Thanks for the feed back!
    Macbook Specs:
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)

The easiest and most reliable option is to connect your Mac to the TV wired. Just buy a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable to connect your MacBook to your TV. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241 Image and sound will appear on the TV automatically.
If the adapter and cable are OK, you won't get the picture distorted. Your Mac will try to use the maximum resolution the GPU allows in order to adapt the picture to your TV. It may not support the maximum resolution of the TV, but picture won't be distorted

  • Cannot play audio from macbook pro 2009 to tv using hdmi with adapter

MacBook Pro 2009. I cannot get audio from my my macbook pro to tv using an hdmi adapter

That is because the 2009 MBP does not support audio via the minidisplay port.  You will have to tap the audio output port for audio and use the RCA audio input connections on the TV.

  • Hearing Audio from placed background movie

I am trying to line up my audio from a FCP .mov file. When I play my movie...the video plays fine in LType but there is no audio that plays. Is there a setting Im missing? This has worked before for me where I can hear my audio adjust the graphics and all is well. Any help is appreciated!

What you probably want to do is,
    From within FCE/FCP/FCS is
    1. place timing markers within the sequence timeline.
    2. File->Export->For LiveType and include the appropriate markers.
From within LT is "Importing a Background Movie With Timing Markers" which is found on page 45 of the LT2.1.4 manual.
My $1.45 worth. Hope it helps, even though it maybe a different workflow to what you had in mind.

  • How do you get 24/96 audio from macbook air?

How do you get 24/96 audio out from macbook air?

If your media source is limited to a DVD disk, then a DVD reader will somehow have to be employed to read that disk. Apple sells a Superdrive specifically designed for use with the MBA, but I've found that many others will work almost equally as well.
Some DVD disks already contain a digital file suitable for play, when directly copied off the disk. However, for more traditional DVD movies, it will require an application to perform what is called "ripping", to convert and copy the DVD's contents to a file that can be moved and played off the disk. I have used an application called "Handbrake" with reasonable success.
After ripping, you may need another application to convert it to a format specific to the media player you may choose to eventually use. e.g. to convert into a file that iTunes may import.

  • How do I hear audio from my Macbook Pro 2009 to my LED TV?

I recently received an adapter for my Macbook Pro 2009, Mini DisplayPort (Mini DP) to HDMI Female Adapter + HDMI Cable for my birthday.  I knew before receiving this adapter I needed something to transmit audio to my TV.  However, th 1/8' (3.5mm) to RCA stereo audio cable I purchased does not work. Does anyone have a suggestion on which cable I need to purchase next to make the sound component work when connecting my laptop to my Toshiba LED TV?

The Mac's audio output doubles as a optical Toslink stereo mini jack, just use a adapter to regular Toslink and plug the optical cable to your surround sound system. Fiddle with the sound settings to enable optical output.
Mac's pass surround sound through, they don't do any processing.

  • Audio from Macbook Late 2008 to Samsung LE32R88BD Help!

    Hi,
I have am trying to resolve an audio issue:
    Samsung LE32R88BD TV
    Macbook 13" Aluminium Late 2008
From the Macbook I currently have an Apple Minidisplay adapter - DVI and then a DVI - HDMI connector into that, which has an HDMI lead running into my TV.
I also have a 3.5mm jack connected to the heaphone port on Macbook running to the DVI In port on my TV.
I can not get an audio to run through to the TV and I have found out that it appears there is a "False digital audio signal" that I some how need to switch to analogue. I can not seem to find a way to this via the TV settings nor the Macbook sound settings.
I have the HDMI cable going into HDMI 2 input on TV as inline with the DVI In port.
Alot of threads point to the Mac as being the primary problem, though according to Apple website my laptop will not support audio through the minidisplay port (so I can not buy an HDMI adapter with sound support) which makes me think it is the TV settings?
Does anyone know how to switch from digital audio sig to analogue. I am at my wits end trying to figure this and it is proving a headache.
    Thanks In Advance
    Sally

Lion has the minimum requirement of at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.

  • How do I get audio from MacBook Pro to Samsung monitor?

MacBook Pro - I've just bought an S27b550V Samsung monitor to connect to the MacBook Pro but even with hdmi adaptor and usb connection can only get video. I set sound control to recognise the usb output but still nothing but a faint muted sound from the monitor. How do I get audio to work?

I don't think that a USB connection is going to do anything - as you've a Mac with a Mini DisplayPort that, I don't believe, will carry audio over HDMI, you'd need to use the 3.5-mm analog/optical combo jack optical jack to get video to your Samsung monitor.
