Hearing Aid Compatability with new 3G phone?

Hello
Can someone please point out somewhere in the spec for the new 3G phone on M3 or M4 hearing aid compatibility?
Thanks

1) On Monday July 14th I purchased and activated my new iPhone 3G. I ported my number from Verizon and ate the early termination fee. I've been asked by multiple people if I received their text messages -- and to my dismay, I didn't receive a couple here and there. They are VZW customers, but I can't imagine that has anything to do with it. Even though my phone goes in and out of service at times, there should be no reason why I shouldn't still receive them, right? I went to VZW yesterday to get a car charger for a friend & they asked for my number. I gave them it, and it still showed I receive a 20% discount on accessories. Do you think since I cancelled Verizon recently it is causing this problem sometimes? Any ideas?
It usually takes sometime for all information and services to port over. No longer then a day. But if you are having SMS issues. Feel free to give iPhone Support a call. They can assist with contacting at&t data group and they can perform some troubleshooting on their end. Please ensure you call on something other then the iPhone
2) Yesterday some soda spilled onto the screen of my iphone. I have an Agent18 case on it which protected it for the most part. I immediately wiped it up and everything was fine. It's been working fine since, but for some reason when I receive text messages, as of an hour or so ago, it doesn't play a sound, only vibrates. I double and tripled checked that a sound should play -- and it says so. My call ringer plays fine and other sounds work. Any ideas?
This could be part of the same issue as above. But maybe not. Check and ensure the silent switch is not turned to orange on the left hand side of the iPhone.
Also reboot the iPhone if needed then go to the Dial Out keypad and dial *646# this will send an SMS to the iPhone. See if you hear a sound. Ensure volume is all the way up. Do you hear any other sounds? Like when you get email, voicemail, incoming call?

  • Hearing aid compatibility being ignored as new Blackberry devices are released...

I'm very disappointed in both Research in Motion and the cell phone carriers for making the newer Blackberry devices all M3 and  not M4/T4.
M4/T4 is the best hearing aid compatibility rating.  M3 is just average.
In the past, Blackberries have been M4/T4 rated and I've been very happy with the company for their support.
However, the newer models being released, including but not limited to the Curve 9700 and the Bold 9650 are all M3.
The Blackberry 8830 was M4/T4, then its successor, the Tour 9630 was M3, and sure enough the successor of that, the Bold 9650 is M3.
The Storm (both versions) devices are also M3.
I was researching the phones released by Blackberry; all new phones are M3.  None are M4.  However, if you are content with an older model, like the 8830 for example, they are still sold by the cell phone carriers.
The cell phone carriers work with RIM to determine how high the hearing aid compatibility rating should be.  Cheaper materials lead to lower ratings.  If the cell phone carriers and RIM used higher quality hardware, they could easily get the M4/T4 rating!
I've heard that the higher quality hardware really is not that much more.
These companies need to realize that M3 is not enough and that M4/T4 is the rating they should be striving for when developing phones!
I prefer newer models when I am eligible to upgrade because their onboard memory is often faster, their cameras are often better, and support for technology is better, etc.
So, I am just so disappointed that Blackberry has decided to back away from M4/T4 and offer M3!
This is unacceptable and both RIM and the carriers need to know this!
I have written my carrier to let them know about this.  Hopefully, the Blackberry devices will start being M4/T4 again, which they should be!

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!
You have some excellent points and suggestions. I would like that those don't miss the mark in reception by RIM. You see, these forums aren't a vehicle to communicate to/from RIM. Rather, these are user-to-user forums where kind souls volunteer to help out other kind souls as best they can. But, I have heard that RIM accepts constructive suggestions at [email protected]
    Good luck!

  • I am having trouble with new I-Phone 4 battery running down in 5 hrs.? Help.

I am having trouble with new I-Phone 4 battery running down in 5 hrs.? Help.

Do you have alot of apps running in background? Tap home key 2 times and there's a list across screen with icons you can deselect them by hold on one and they wiggle touch the minus button and it will deactivate them untill you use them again. Do you have the phone dim after so many seconds or minutes? Is the screen bright all time? Do you go on the Internet or watch video on phone?
These things can affect the hrs of use.

  • Hearing aid compatibility?

I have decided to upgrade from my 5800 ExpressMusic and I want a phone that allows me to use it without removing one of my hearing aids
Some of the newer smart phones have T3 or T4 telecoil compatibility but I cannot find the rating for three Win8 model (929, 820 and 620). Does anybody know compatibity ratings of the latest Nokia phones?

  • Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) at iphone 5?

For me and other people who use Hearing Aid it is very important to us that the new Iphone 5 have HAC-system (telecoil) again. This was a reason I not bought an Iphone 4S because they have remove it. I really really hope Apple changes it back because on the Iphone 4 the HAC-system works. We don't want to have extra stuff to answer the phone, we just want to answer as people who doesn't have hearing aid. Millions of people who have hearing aid hope this !!
Apple, fix the HAC-system again into the next model of Iphone!

  • What external hard drives are compatable with new Ipad 4

What external hardrives are compatable with the new Ipad 4 connector

Not entirely sure what you are asking. According to this review (I haven't got one so I don't know for sure) then the wifi-enabled GoFlex Satellite drives can :
The device can stream basically all content supported by the iPad including videos (H.264 video, MPEG-4, and Motion-JPEG), audio (AAC, MP3, Audible (formats 2, 3, 4), Apple Lossless, A IFF, WAV), documents (Microsoft Office, iWork, Adobe) and photos.
But non-wifi drives, i.e. those that require a cable connection, won't work with the iPad.

  • Compatibility with new Macbook Pro i5 13"

Can anyone comment on boot camps compatibility with the new Macbook Pro 13" i5 model? It appears that not all the drivers are included for the new notebook models. For example I had to manualy download and install the Intel GMA driver from Intel and I still have one PCI device that cannot be installed.

  • Web JetAdmin 8.1 compatibility with newer printers.

Has anyone had experience with Web JetAdmin 8.1 compatibility with either an M9050 or an M4555?  I don't use it myself, but our development people do and they don't want to upgrade to 10.2 unless absolutely necessary.  Thanks.

    LarryDGoodman,
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .
    I hope this helps.

    a yes or no

YES! Mine work like a charm through the Streamer - only problem is a slght delay which causes me to miss the first ring tone while the streamer is connecting to the hearing aids.

  • Graphite compatibility with new wireless printers

I have been using a graphite AirPort for years and years with no complaints. Now I am finally getting around to shopping for a wireless printer to have in the house, so that my partner and I can print without competing for the USB cord. I am wondering, though, whether a new printer will work o.k. with the graphite, or will I have to buy a newer model of AirPort. (The last time I asked a graphite compatibility question to an AppleStore saleseperson, I got a wrong answer. So I'm going to the discussion board instead for this one!)
Thanking anyone in advance for any comments,
    Jorge Bravo
P.S. In case it matters, my computer is an iBook G4 running 10.5.4, my partner's is a PowerBook G4 with 10.4.11.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The Graphite produces a plain-vanilla 802.11b wireless network. It uses 40-bit WEP encryption. Check the system requirements of the wireless printers you are interested in; they are likely to be compatible.
Different manufacturers can use different routines to convert arbitrary-length wireless network passwords to the 40 bits used for WEP, so a device might appear to be incompatible for this reason. The easiest way around this is to use exactly 5 characters in your wireless network password.
The most unusual feature of the Graphite, these days, is that it has only a single Ethernet port, used for both WAN and LAN connections. If you need to connect the printer via Ethernet to the Graphite in order to set it up, you probably ought to disconnect the Graphite from your DSL or cable modem, even if you normally use an Ethernet hub, if the Graphite is distributing IP addresses. (This is to avoid a DHCP conflict.) If the printer needs to be connected simultaneously to the Internet and the Graphite while being set up via Ethernet (which I doubt), you'd need an Ethernet hub, and in order to prevent a DHCP conflict if the Graphite is distributing IP addresses, it would be best to set the printer's IP address manually, to an address of the form 10.0.1.x where x is in the 200's.
I haven't used wireless printers with my own Graphite, but I do connect wirelessly through the Graphite to Ethernet printers, without problems. (I have another router in my network, between the DSL modem and the wired devices, and my Graphite is set not to distribute IP addresses, so there are no DHCP conflicts.)

  • Problems with new 8900 phone

    Hi there
    I've just upgraded from a Blackberry 8310 to a new 8900.
However I have some bugbears with the new phone which I cannot seem to fathom.
(the old 8310 had a trackball problem and wouldnt go up or down. I replaced the trackball but a piece of the solder underneath the trackball also fell out).
Anyway on the 8900, please can someone help with :
    1) When I upgraded O2 said there was satnav built in but I cannot find anything on the phone. I have maps... is that it? The 8310 had Telmap on it.
    2) Now for the biggest issue. When using the browser I can only navigate using the trackball which controls a mouse/cursor. On the 8310 there was 2 ways of navigating the web. One was using the mouse/cursor and there was also another way which was a mobile view which meant you could navigate using the trackball and it would select text much more easily. Unfortunately I cannot say exactly how it was worded as my sim no longer works in the old phone.
    3) Finally I can never get the sim card out. When you take the battery out and push in the sim card. There is a piece of black plastic which you push the simcard into. However this will not move in any direction so the only way of releasing the simcard is to literally bend it with a pair of tweezers and lever it out.
    Many thanks for reading.
It looks a good phone. I like the layout but at the moment I wish I'd got another 8310.
    Phil

    1. The 8900 has built in GPS. Go to Options > Advanced > GPS. Press Menu > Refresh GPS.
You should have BlackBerry Maps included with the device software.
    2. Your cursor "arrow" is the new navigation tool in the new browser.
    3. I'm not sure. I don't have a 8900 in front of me, but I have had two, and never had any issue removing/replacing the SIM card. I would recommend using something like a pencil eraser to push upwards and out on the SIM card. I wouldn't bend the SIM. Ask someone at a retail store to show you how to release the SIM card.

  • Can't sync with new car phone

When I try to sunc my Treo 680 with my new Ford Taurus, I get the message "Unable to sunc with trusted device."  My first attempt was when my previous car was within range and it appently tried to sync again with it.  It is now out of range and I still get the message.
Post relates to: Treo 680 (AT&T)

Hi..  Welcome to the Palm forums.  You 680 is a older device and you Taurus is a new vehicle.  Being new it probably has the new MicroSoft sync technology.  That technology was not available when your 680 was developed.  The compatibility list from Palm.com shows compatible with Ford (Pieker Mobile-Ease).  Check your owner manual and if that is the bluetooth car kit installed by Ford it may be able to sync.  If it is MicroSoft sync it is not compatible.   Here is a link to Palms compatability list:  http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=4572,E=0000000000276180038,K=1739,Sxi=4,Case=obj(41...

  • Factime not connecting with new overseas phone number

    Hi,
Using an iphone 4S running 7.1.1
I am in asia for a year or two and just changed from an unlocked Verizon SIM card to a local GSM SIM card and new phone number. For some reason, Facetime won't connect.  It rings, begins the connection, then fails after a few seconds. Either when I dial out or someone calls me.
Mail works, WhatsApp works. So data over wifi is working. And Maps is working, so 3G is fine in the street.
Facetime was working fine yesterday when I was still using the Verizon SIM card and the old number, so I have that baseline.
Also, under Settings/FaceTime/You Can Be Reached by FaceTime At    the phone number (an asian phone number that includes the country code) is checked but grayed out, I'm guessing it has something to do with this but I don't know how to resolve it.
    Any ideas?

Update to Post:  tried a phone call to the same US number and it works just fine.

  • Issue with new 9300 phone and Vodafone service

    Hi All,
    My name is Amol Supal.
    I am for Mumbai, India.
I have bought new Blackberry 9300 curve from E Zone Chembur Branch, India.
I took Vodafone new connection and try to activate Blackberry service.
But Vodafone service centre  convey me that you phone is not able get register in Blackberry Server.
Request you all, help me to resolve this issue.

    Hello,
You will need to work with Vodafone...only they can look "behind the scenes" to see what is going on. Perhaps if they tell you why it is not able to register, that may provide some better hints as to what is going on.
Good luck and let us know!

  • 24" Cinema Display Compatibility with New MBPs

Need advice: Considering a new 13" 2.53GHsz MBP and a 24" Cinema display -- laptop for travel, display for desk. Like the portability of the 13". Or do I need upgrade to the 15" 2.66Ghz MBP with enhanced graphics and video support? Not a gamer, but would enjoy the display for movies, etc. Thanks in advance.

Update: Apple store sales advised me to buy 15" MBP (vs. new 13") due to concerns re: graphics and speed. So I purchased the 2.8Ghz. Set up with cinema display works great. Done.
