I need to update to AT LEAST Droid 2.3.3 preferable 2.3.6
And what is with all the snacks?!!  "Gingerbread" and "Ice Cream Sandwhich"???  Is that OEM droid OS technology, or names for jailbreaks or roots?  Definately don't wan t to go there!!
[heavy sigh]
Post-poning updates until I hear from theGuru's.  Thank you Guru's!

Hello NurseBecka,
I'm so glad to learn that your Revolution is working great, as your post mentions.
I'd like to take some time and address your concerns about the Operating System upgrade. The names of the software versions are all desserts, named by Google(Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, etc.). Though I do not have a date for you when it comes to software updates, I do have a link that provides you with a list of devices that will be updating to the Ice Cream Sandwich software version. Currently, the Revolution is not on the list, but please keep in mind that this information is updated as soon as we get it. This is something that may be coming in the future.

You are also able to sign up for email updates as new products and services become available. Below is a link for that as well.
http://email.vzwshop.com/servlet/website/ResponseForm?OSPEJNlmhtLk_.2ef
If/when the Revolution receives a software update, the updates are pushed out to the devices. To check manually for a software update on the Revolution, please follow these steps:

    Hi guru's !
as you know in Belgium there is a new legal requirement concerning the payment of a firm to ''tax heaven'' since january 2010
I would like to create a process to be able to do this.
Do you have any experience about this subject ?
Thanks in advance for your support ...

    Hi,
    You can activate the Purchase Account management in following path;
SPRO > MM > Valuation and Account Assignment > Account Determination > Purchase Account Management > Activate Purchase Account in Company Code
And then assign the Purchase Account to T/E Key EIN and Purchase Offset A/c to T/E Key EKG in OBYC.
Also assign the Account Key EIN to all the condition types of pricing procedure in M/08

    Front of case:
Two Coolermaster LED fans blow cool air straight to the Hyper6 and 5900XT.
    Back of case:
Two Coolermaster LED fans suck any hot air straight out the back.
The only problem I had was installing the Hyper6 retention mechanism.
You have to file out a groove at the base of the retention so that it doesn't press on a small transistor-like component on the motherboard.
But the result is heavenly ..... wouldn't you agree?

Oyeah, this Hyper 6 HSF from cooler master is one of the many reason why I choosed to replaced my ABIT KV8 with MSI K8N Neo Plat. K8N uniqe layout design was definitely the only best match for this massive HSF. Yes this thing could lower my proc a lot better than the stock HSF, but it also consumed a wider area around proc than any ather HSF did, at least in my old ABIT KV8 I could only use one fan to suck the hot air (but still to close to PSU) since using the 2nd fan will only caused the fan blocked by the VGA card (AGP card was to closed with the fan leaving only 2-3 mm gap). Somehow I think this mobo layout was designed to accomodate Hyper 6 HSF.

  • Do we have a 'heavenly effect'?

    Hello to all!
In an upcoming song video, I need to show a 'heavenly scene'...a brightly lit and 'glorious' effect which can be placed in the video clip; the effect also containing clouds moving around, rainbows, thunder and lightning!
Any guidance in this requirement [apart from being advised to go there and do the shooting!] will be deeply appreciated.

    Hi Doc,
yo're describing a whole scene - you have to 'synthezise' that?
'cause an 'effect', in my humble understanding, is something, you add to an existing scene (as babylonslim mentioned 'godrays').
to built 'a heaven' from scratch, is no effect; it is a compositing, such as in Photoshop you combine different, single elements in one new picture/video. You would need timelapsed clouds (I've seen that), a rainbow is some paint-job, lightning is single frames put over a scene ... thunder? audio library .. ahh, and godrays ... coremelt has such an effect for free, or you built one in Motion ..
    rather complex ....
for a start, you should try to compose such a scene as a still, with material found by a google search...
but a 'Heaven Out Of A Box' I never heard of..

  • When will be get decent sharpening for heaven sake?

How many years has Lightroom been out now? And we still need to make a roundtrip to Photoshop for Photokit. It's almost 2010 and beyond ludicrous at this point (for this industry in general actually). Cut it out with the extra dingbats and get to the meat of the matter for heaven sakes. I would pay a grand for the package just for the time (money) savings.
P.S. at least have the courtesy to have a "disable sharpening" switch when you edit (export) to Photoshop (just sharpening)

J Ituarte, you didn't make clear which version of Lightroom you were griping about ineffective Sharpening in, or whether you were unhappy with image or print sharpening. You do need LR 2.x to get good image sharpening.
And you may already know all this that follows, JI, but a lot of people who think sharpening in LR2 is still ineffective are unaware of this, so just to be clear, to see the effects onscreen of adjustments to image Sharpening (or Noise Reduction or Chromatic Aberration) in the Develop module, you **must** first zoom the image in, by either clicking in the image so that it zooms, or clicking the small triangle with the exclamation point in the upper left corner of the Detail box. If you move the sliders in the Detail box without making that triangle go away by zooming, nothing seems to happen. The adjustments are still being made, but you can't see them onscreen, which makes slider movement there a crapshoot. The level of zoom is 2:1 by default, but can be set higher in Library module to the right of where it says Navigator in the upper left.
Also, some people don't know that to use Masking under Develop>Detail>Sharpening, you should hold down the Alt button on a PC while moving the Masking slider on a **zoomed in** image. What appears in white as you do this is what's being sharpened. So if you want the edges in a photo sharpened but not areas that should appear smooth, hold down Alt on a zoomed-in image and move the Masking slider so that only the details you want sharpened appear in white.

  • Please, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, provide music equalizer...

This is an issue regarding the 'Nokia Music' application. I just got my Windows 7.5 phone updated to Windows 7.8 at a Nokia Care center. But I realized that even now there is no option for equalizer in Nokia Music. This is highly disappointing. Since the Windows 7.8 update isn't officially out yet, is there any chance that when it is officially released, the Nokia Music application is updated to include an equalizer? Without equalizer, the music sounds pathetic. There have been loads of requests on the Nokia forums to include an equalizer in the Nokia Music application for Lumia phones since the time Lumia 800 was released. People higly anticipated an equalizer in the 7.8 update, but it was never included. This shows that Nokia isn't bothered about even very basic customer requirements such as an equalizer. An equalizer for music playback is a very basic feature which even 5 year old phones have. Even other vendors provide their own equalizer application for use on their Windows phones. Its not at all difficult to include an equalizer in your 'Nokia Music' app. I mainly use my phone for music playback, and the lack of an equalizer on my Lumia 800 is VERY VERY disappointing due to poor quality of music playback. I'm sorry to say this, but I will NEVER recommend a Windows based Nokia phone to anyone due to very poor music quality, which is a direct result of an equalizer not being included. I agree that you're including an equalizer for Windows Phone 8, but it doesn't mean you have to abandon your Windows 7 users who have been waiting for a simple feature such as an equalizer since more than 18 months. I have used EXCLUSIVELY Nokia products since 10 years because of the faith I had in Nokia. But I'm sorry to say that this Lumia 800 will surely be the last Nokia product I would have purchased. You have lost a long time and sincere customer. No wonder Nokia's sales and revenue have plummeted over the past year. If you people can't provide even a basic feature such as a music equalizer in your phones, people are not going to buy your products. And you are not at all bothered about the feedback which people have been giving since more than a year.
My sincere request - PLEASE, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, include an equalizer for Windows Phone 7.8 in your next update for the Nokia Music application. Or else, please recommend me any third party application or music player which supports equalizer. If this is not possible, at least provide some app for increasing the bass output. Don't say that I have poor quality headphones. I have high end headphones which produces excellent bass when connected to my PC or my old Nokia X6 phone. I don't mind paying for that application. This will surely restore my faith in Nokia as a brand. Please take this as constructive critisism.
    Thanks and regards

I do have the latest update. I realized that the bass is reproduced only for mp3 songs with very high bit rate of 320kbps or slightly lower.
And yeah, I do have excellent quality JBL headphones.
because it offers excellent music output even for 128kbps music files.
Actually for low frequency reproduction the bitrate is much less important then you seem to think. Also I would gladly bet you will not be able to tell which is the 128Kbps mp3 against a 320Kbps or even a CD track in a blind test. Quality of MP3s is not just the bitrate, it can vary greatly from one encoder to the next. Could you let us know which headphones you are using?  I would agree that audio quality of the included headphones is bad at best.

  • Stuck trying to get unigine-heaven to run

I'd like to run benchmarks on a couple of graphics cards I have around, so I'm trying out unigine-heaven from the AUR. (Forgive me for asking for help with unsupported packages.) The initial window launches, but when I actually try to run the benchmark it fails with:
    $ unigine-valley

I read on https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/unigine-heaven/ that the open source ATI drivers are unsupported, and that's what I'm using, so maybe that explains the error. But when I try to install catalyst-dkms (even from a totally fresh arch base system), I run into this bug https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/34360
    :: catalyst-utils and xorg-server are in conflict. Remove xorg-server? [y/N] y
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
So now I've got two problems, plus I'm not sure they're related. Does anyone know of either
    1) A way to make unigine-heaven work on on the open source drivers
    2) A way to install the closed source drivers right now
    Or even:
    3) A good GPU benchmark besides this one
Thanks for any and all help.

run glxinfo , and at the end you'll see something like this :
    360 GLXFBConfigs:

That list shows all supported GLXFBConfigs, but unigine-valley needs one that is NOT on the list.
Unigine valley doesn't specifiy their openGL requirements, so it's hard to tell what exactly is missing.
For graphics benchmarks, check the wiki on the Phoronix Test Suite,
Incase you want to switch to the closed drivers, check the catalyst wiki page.
Basically you need an older version of X .

  • CS and CR2 - apparently not a match made in heaven  :^/

    Hello all!
I just bought a Canon 30D this week. I shot with it for the 1st time this weekend - I was so excited to get home and open my RAW files but I'm having real trouble. The Canon 30D is producing CR2 images (camera raw 2 I am guessing.) CS is not able to open them. My 'old' camera was the 1st Canon digital rebel, I have no problems opening those raw files....I've been working with raw files for quite some time now......the raw concept is not a new thing for me.
So, I hopped on the web this morning in search of answers. I went to the Adobe site and downloaded the Camera RAW 2.4 update with the DNG converter. I read in a few places that you had to convert the CR2 files to DNG files - and with the updated camera raw plugin (2.4) CS should be able to open them. I can't even get the DNG converter to convert my CR2 files! ARRRGGHHH! When I follow the instructions, (drag the folder of images containing the raw files over the DNG converter icon...that launches the converter) it says that it can't even locate any raw files. I tried dragging a few individual raw files to the converter...no luck with that either. I'm getting a bit frustrated. I blew the bank on the new camera and lens....there is no way I can upgrade my software any time soon. I'm thinking that I can't be the only person with this problem.
I'm really, really hoping that someone has been though this and can offer some advice! Oh....I'm running Windows Vista if that matters to any of you.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Quote: "ACR 2.4 is the only version of Camera Raw that is still available for download for Photoshop CS. If your camera was added in no later version of ACR you have two options. The first option is to upgrade to the current version of Photoshop which uses ACR 4.1. It supports a lot more cameras, and yours is one of them.
If upgrading is not an option for you, then you should go online and download the latest version of the DNG converter (currently 4.1) and use it to create Digital Negative (DNG) copies of your raw images. Those DNG files can then be opened in Photoshop CS using ACR 2.4."

  • HP iPod versus Apple iPod (please help my HP iPod is in ipod heaven :( )

I have a 20G HP+iPod that i bought from cosco that i use with my apple computer. Everything has been working fine until one day when i turned it on and a "sad ipod" flashed up on the screen. When i turned it back on it worked as normal so i thought nothing of it. A little later while listening the ipod froze up so i resetted it. After reseting it a folder with an exclamation mark came up. A little later though it started working again and it worked for a couple of days. I was listening to my ipod in the car for a long time until the batteries ran out and when i plugged it back in the folder with the exclamation mark came up. So i went the apple.com/support and it said i have to restore it. Now this HP iPod would not restore. everytime i restored it it would say an error has occured. Finally i get the thing to restore and i plug it in to put in all my songs again. Unfortunatly my iPod freezes in the middle of uploading the songs so i gave up. Today i tried restoring it again. And updating it again. it froze again. I give up now so i am returning my iPod to cosco tommorow...
Now here is my question. Is an HP iPod different than an Apple one. Because after returning my HP iPod to cosco i am thinking about going to buy a new Apple iPod but i am afraid that it might not be any different than the HP one. (and yes i am defienatly planning on buying the insurance for it). Please help! (good thing about cosco u get a full refund for anything)

The HP has the same hardware as the apple one. The warranties and service offered by each company is where the differences lie.
Since your iPod broke so early with those icons, it was probably a lemon and the HD was having issues.
Since you have a mac though, get an apple iPod because HP doesn't support any connection issues between an HP iPod and a mac.

  • Iphone heaven, ringtone ****!

How can the UK users of the world get more ringtones than the standard?
We can't create a ringtone in Itunes UK and I don't seem to have this Garage Band business even though my software is the latest!? Help!

If you use Google to search for something like "how to create ringtones for iPhone", you will find steps that enable you to turn any MP3 into a ringtone:
In iTunes open an MP3, go to properties and select 30 seconds that you want to be your ringtone, save as a separate file, convert to AAC, move this file to another location, change the extension to m4r and reimport into iTunes - it will now appear as a ringtone.
You can find better description using Google.

  • For heaven's sake!

    Hi there,
I've just changed my nano for this 80gb model today. It's brand new..sealed. Well, now I can notice that equalizer does not work. I can't notice any difference when it's on or off...I've tried all settings but the sound is the same!
In my nano I can hear the different settings very well. I've done a reset but it did not fix it. I just can't belive it's defective!
I'm a musician and I have good ears!
    Any tips?

Yes, I'm sure it's not working. As I told before,I'm a musician and have very nice ears I could not notice any difference in ANY preset instead with my other nano.
Now, I discovered that the issue is due to the way I put musics onto my ipod. I mean: If I rip a CD via iTunes the equalizer works fine since is encoded to AAC ! When I changed my old mp3 files to AAC and downloaded to iPod equalizer worked ! I just think this ***** because I have no problems like that with my 2GB nano.
Maybe a firmware (I got the latest) issue ? Who knows ?
Are you sure it's not working? I ask this because
some of those options available to choose have some
very subtle differences in the sound. Why don't you
try something like the Bass Booster and see if you
can hear a difference. Or go from Bass Booster to
Bass Reducer and see if you can hear any difference.
I've also read in these forums that if you make some
sort of change in iTunes (equalizer wise) on a piece
of music that it will take precedence over the
equalizer settings that you may make on your iPod
(or maybe the other way around, not sure) in other
words, it will seem as though your equalizer on the
    iPod is not working.
