Hebrew support for nano 2nd gen and ITunes

Hi,
I have a new ipod nano. I've installed ITunes, and all my hebrew named files are being displayed with strange font (Giberish)
Is there any way to get hebrew fonts support for the ipod nano and the ITune 7.0 software ?
Dani

I know that this question has been asked before on these forums. Have you done a search for this regarding Hebrew on these forums? Although the links provided above do not offer support for the nano. Have you tried doing a search on google for a possible solution to your question. It might be good to leave feedback regarding support for hebrew text for the ipod at the link below.

  • Ipod nano 2nd gen and dock/alarm clock

i have read through alot of the posts and have not seen anything similar to my question.
i got my daughter an ipod nano for xmas.
we really dont leave the computer on alot and she was wanting a docking station/speaker setup. i found one that charges it/ has speakers and is also an alarm clock.
she likes the idea of having the alarm clock with it.
this is the model she got: curtis iMode ip210 link to where it was bought http://hhgregg.com/ProductDetail.asp?SID=0B568914D18A4CBEB2E80A95E8C46043&Produc tID=17180
we have not hooked it up yet because of a small problem maybe. (hooked up to power that is)
it came with a bunch of different adapters for the different ipod versions. well the nano one is incorrect. i guess due to ours being a 2nd gen version.
the ipod goes right on the dock fine with out it.
the little plastic adapter i got with the ipod kinda works in the slot of the radio but would need a little modification to snap in. the difference is the outside shape and would just needed some sanding. i have called the support number for the radio and all i could get from the was its not compatable. and i am not too sure why.
from what i have found out is all the ipod dock connectors are the same and there is no difference. not sure about this just what i have noticed.
i tried to call my local apple store and ask them but that guy started talking about firewire and problems. i told him how it docked and what it was and he still insisted on talking about firewire and those problems. i hung up as it didnt sound like he knew anything.
so now would i be ok in useing the adapter i got with the ipod and makeing some slight mods(sanding outside edge) to it. or is the something totally different between the 1st gen and 2nd gen that would mess up the ipod if put in this unit.
the reason i want this unit as it will replace her current alarm clock and she has a loft bed and its the only unit that we have seen that will fit and is in our price range.
    thank you for your help

The dock adaptor that came with the iPod is meant to fit Apple's universal dock and not a 3rd party accessory.
The reason you are having issues is because although the dock connectors on iPods are all the same (the pins are in the same place), the connector on the second gen nano is in a slightly different place than on the first. If you look at it from the bottom with the iPod face up, it's slightly more to the left. This, and the fact that it has a metal case with rounded edges, has made the new nano incompatible with almost all these type of accessories.
It's been mentioned here several times, and a few people have been able to get the manufacturer of the dock to supply them with an adaptor.

  • IPod Shuffle (2nd gen) and iTunes 8.1.1.10 not synching...

My iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen seems to be unable to sync with iTunes 8.1.1.10 -- in a way. It is recognized in iTunes (shows up in sidebar, correctly labeled; I can view its content) and it will charge and autofill. However, it will not sync with iTunes and communicate playcounts or show me in any way that the autofill is occurring or has occurred.
I have used the "Restore" function and it did not correct the problem. Additionally, when I try to File>Sync iPod, the option is unavailable (not a clickable button/option). I really would like to be able to sync my playcounts again...
    Thank you!

Are you using iTunes for Windows to sync your 1G and 2G iPods? Reading through the forums, I've only seen this issue come up on Windows machines.
As I stated in my message above, the new release 8.2.0.23 has not resolved the issue. I've actually reloaded my computer completely at this point and the issue still exists. I've confirmed that the problem is not the iPod, as I was able to successfully erase and sync using a Windows XP machine and iTunes 7.4 then move music on to the iPod. When I went back to my primary machine, I did an erase and sync, but was unable to move any music on to the iPod. The iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen will show up in iTunes, but if you try to drag songs to the iPod, autofill or apply a change of setting, iTunes will state that it is "Syncing iPod. Do not disconnect." It will stay in this mode for 2-3 minutes and iTunes will be unresponsive during this time. Once iTunes starts responding again, nothing has been copied to the iPod and none of the settings changes have been saved on the iPod.
Please note that my 60GB iPod Video syncs without issue (and no, I'm not trying to sync both at the same time).

  • Nano 3rd gen and itunes 8.0.1

My ipod nano 3rd gen will not sync with itunes now that we have downloaded the latest version 8.0.1. Itunes locks up immediately upon recognizing my ipod and closes upon clearing the error message (systems error upon opening itunes). Originally I was unable to open Itunes all together, but after going through the support programs and following the instructions of removing one of the SDDb files, Itunes was at least opening. Unfortunately I am unable to do anything with my nano when it is connected to the computer or when I try and connect it after opening Itunes. Itunes open if there my nano is not connected to it.
I am completely at a lose. Please offer some advice.
    cheers,

So, to bring closure - and possibly help someone else with the same question - I'll answer my own question.
The new 3rd Gen Nano arrived today. I just decided to install iTunes on the new computer and connect the new Nano to that computer. I was prompted to name the Nano and I was able to log into my existing iTunes account and purchase music. I was not able to transfer those purchases to the Nano - got an authorization error. I needed to authorize the new computer and then I was all set.
It turned out there was already a 2nd authorized computer on the account (my laptop which I had forgotten about). I was surprised that when I connected the new Nano to that laptop, it was recognized without question - and without affecting the old Nano that had been previously docked to the laptop.
My only problem was downloading a podcast that I subscribe to (Leo Laporte's The Tech Guy). I tried downloading the last 4 or 5 podcasts on the new computer - but, kept getting a network timeout error. I tried on the laptop and got the same errors. I knew that these had been previously downloaded to the old desktop. So, I updated that to the latest version of iTunes and was able to get those podcasts onto my new Nano.
So, the bottom line is this turned out to be a no-brainer. Was worried for nothing.

  • Nano 6th Gen and iTune crash my PC (windows 7)!!

I have a nano 6th generation and i am using a PC runing on windows 7.
Initially, a couple of months back, i was able to connect and sync the nano to my PC - no issues with iTune.
Just last week, I tried to connect my nano to my PC again but i noticed once the iTunes started running, it crashed my PC.  It crashed not just my PC, but 2 other PC with iTunes running. Whereas I tried to connect it with a PC without iTunes and a Macbook, the laptops didn't crash at all.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes as well as did a hard reset on on the nano (resulting in loss of all songs in the nano).
Yet when i connect the Nano to my PC, it will crash the PC again and again.
Is anyone facing such issue???  Please help advise how to resolve this issue?

Do you have any other USB devices connected to your PC when you connect the Nano (minus the keyboard and mouse)?
Do you have any AntiVirus software running on your system? Try temporarily disabling it to see if that helps.
Any additional iTunes plug-ins/add-ons installed of any sort?
Do you have all the latest Windows updates/patches applied to your system?  You should also update all firmware, BIOS, and drivers for your system as outdated ones can cause issues.

  • Nano 6th gen and Itunes for audiobooks

Been trying to get an audiobook onto my ipod for 2 weeks. It's downloaded and in Itunes. Been dragged to device and appears in "recently added" but is not on the actual device.  I've used Itunes for music and also Zune (which, by the way, is much easier and user friendly than Itunes).  Can someone help me to get this audiobook to appear on my device?

For audiobooks and iTunesU to appear on the screen you have to download the relevant content into iTunes and then synchronise your iPod.  For voice memo to appear you have to connect a pair of headphones that incorporate a microphone, such as these: http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MB770G/B?fnode=MTY1NDA0Ng

  • Assorted Problems with iPod Nano 4th gen and iTunes

So i am currently experiencing several problems. Let me break it down so that it might help you understand what's going on.
#1 When dragging music files to my ipod in itunes, an error message popped up stating some sort of file reading/writing error, i forgot exactly what it said.
#2 iPod starts randomly reseting itself when it changes to a new song. sometimes reseting itself right after the main menu comes back up. It also does this while connected to my JVC KD-AVX44 stereo in my car via USB and while listening normally by headphones.
#3 I tried restoring it in itunes, after the restore software was downloaded, an error message appeared stating that the ipod could not be restored.
#4 itunes begins to not recognize iPod
#5 itunes freezed when brought up, still not recognizing the ipod.
#6 itunes crashes? It came up with a window asking for an itunes library to continue, selected just "my music" instead, no files labeled .itl in that. clicked cancel, itunes dosn't come back up.
I'm hoping there's something simple that i'm missing here, can anyone help?

I think i'll try reinstalling itunes tonight, i tried using some of the tips in these articles to reinstall my usb drivers etc, as i still can't get my ipod to restore. apple store will be the next step.

Also, (common question) what's the easiest way to get music into your itunes library automatically if downloading from another source. i just dragged all my previous music from "my music" when i got the nano, i'd just been using WMP before. and i can't seem to find a way to automatically have itunes pick up this stuff. kind of a pain in the behind to drag it all.

  • How to move podcasts from iTunes to iPod...nano 2nd gen with iTunes 8.2.1,

...that don't have the little blue dot indicating that they've not been listened to? These podcasts aren't sync'ed to iPod bec iPod thinks that they have been listed to and they haven't. How to 'restore' these podcasts to their original 'unheard' status? The solution appears to manually manage podcasts, but I couldn't follow directions which I think were intended for iTunes 9 --such as find the Source and go from there (no "Source" on my iTunes).

You can also change your settings from iTunes under the 'podcasts' tab of your ipod. If you set it to sync all episodes instead of all unplayed episodes it should work just fine.
If you wanted to pick which podcasts sync but don't want to manually manage, you could also create a smart playlist that chooses all 'checked' podcasts and sync that playlist instead. Then only the podcasts you check will be synced, regardless of whether or not they've been played.

    Hi Thecraggs,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  If your iPod isn't recognized by your computer or iTunes, this article may help:

  • Itunes won't recognize ipod nano 2nd gen

    hi everyone,
I have a mac powerpc g4 and am running osx 10.3.2 and itunes 6.0.4. as far as I know, that's the latest itunes that will work with this os. I can plug in my own ipod (an old 40 gb) and everything's great. the problem is when my fiance plugs in hers -- she wants to load some of my mp3s onto her ipod. it shows up as an ipod on the desktop, but itunes doesn't recognize it. I tried the 5 R's already -- I even restored her ipod nano 2nd gen and made sure it was in mac format and had the latest software, which it now does. but it makes no difference. her own itunes/mac recognizes her ipod just fine; the problem is when we plug it into my mac. I suspect I need some different, updated driver that will explain to my mac that the thing that's being plugged in needs to be treated like an ipod. any ideas where I can find such a driver that would work with my os, or, failing that, any ideas as to anything else that would fix the problem? any help is much appreciated.
    thanks,
    John

My IPod Nano will charge when connected to my computer but it won't come up on My Computer or iTunes. So I can't update the songs. I've already tried reseting the iPod. Does anybody know what I can do to fix it.

  • Charging iPod nano (2nd gen) with iPod mini adaptor

    Hey
I just bought my iPod nano 2nd gen, and I realized that there is no wall charger for it. Therefore I am wondering, if I can use the wallcharger for my old iPod mini?
I that cannot be done, I would like some alternatives, since I would like to bring my iPod on vacation, and therefore I need more than 24 hours of battery life.
    Best regards
    Niels Christian

" I am wondering, if I can use the wallcharger for my old iPod mini?"
    Yes.

  • ITunes and my PC won't recognize my iPod Nano (2nd gen.)

Just this morning, my iPod nano (2nd gen.) stopped getting recognized in my iTunes and on my computer hard drive. It still charges when it's plugged into the computer, but the device is not recognized otherwise. What is going on?? Thanks!

p.s. I also connected it to my husband's laptop and his iTunes wouldn't recognize the device either (if that helps).

  • My ipod nano 2nd gen is showing the apple?support sceen...What do i do?

my ipod nano 2nd gen is showing the apple?support sceen...What do i do?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.
