Heirarchy Level in BW Rerports

Hello Experts,
Need to show the Activated Hierarchy Level in the reporting header (Upper left corner of the Excel Sheet). Is there any way. I tried out the option of activating the display option if the "Value of Nodes" in the properties of the hierarchy. Did not work. Do help me out.
Thank you,

Hi Marc,
In the query designer screen when you choose an hierarchy. In the Properties below it you have the option of choosing 'Expand to Level'. It gives a number by default. But you can change that also. so I want this number to be displayed in the Excel sheet with the Hierarchy 'Text' or 'Key' which ever option we choose. Hope I am clear.
Thank you..

  • Bridge to heirarchy level of dimension

    Hi,
We have a fact table with sales records and customer dimension related to it.
The customer dimension has customerID as its PK. It also has at attribute of Customer Group, so several customer can belong to one customer group.
Now I've added a bridge table to connect a Conference dimension to the Customer Dimension (many to many) but if I join it by customer ID (not by group) then when slicing the cube by conference it only gives me the sales of the specific customers that participated
in the conference, while I would actually like to view sales of all the customer GROUPS that participated. (But I can't join the bridge on groups since group is not PK of customers dimension).
What is the correct procedure for this?
    Thanks
    Namnami
    please help-

    Hi,
From one dimension table you can create a alias table and from it create 2 hierarchy levels by giving different names.
    One should look like Region-->Country-->City
    second hierarchy Region-->Country
This way you can create 2 sheets for the users,so any one can be applied drill path.
    Hope it helps you.

  • How to confine various level of planning in to limited and lowest level of planning in DP by the users

    Hi Gurus,
May I know the various methods to confine planning level at the lowest level and re-define the Primitive methods where  business currently uses in excel sheet and plans at all level into demand planning with a minimum and lowest level by which the business reduces manual work and increases visibility and planning.
Example: Business currently plans at customer Hierarchies  which has about 6 levels, product has Hierarchies at 5 levels, location hierarchies at 3 level in excel sheet and on monthly level for an year and then quarterly for 2 years and yearly basis  for one year. This we need to confine to lowest level of customer, product and location.

So in this case, the cvc are created at lowest level of planning, at P6_C5_L3.
Now how to convenience the business that they need to do the planning at this level for planning, as the rest levels will be aggregated automatically in demand planning.
Is the grouping level place a major role? if so how to do that as the business says for some products they do at p4_c2_L1 level for some they do at P5_C4_L2 level.
Could someone guide us in giving some solution which ease the business need of planning at any level. Hope you have understood my requirement by the above example. If not do let me know, so that I may try to inform by further details. Thanks in advance.
    Praveen

    Praveen,
Not really sure what the question is.  You say you want to 'confine' planning to the most detailed level, but you also want to support planning at an intermediate level.
No matter.  DP transparently supports planning at any/all levels simultaneously.  Data in DP is always stored at the detail level, no matter which level (or combination of levels) the forecast is entered at.

  • Increasing release strategy levels/steps

    Dear gurus,
We recently added a release code (FC) on our release strategies for our purchase requisitions. The condition is that all Pru2019s have to be released and/or checked by the Financial Controller prior to being released by the process leaders.
    Challenge
It has since been discovered that the last release code on each strategy can no longer release once the approval has been affected by the first release codes in a given strategy. How and where can this be sorted?

i assume you have now 2 heirarchy levels to approve the PR
to ensure that release is effected only after l1 and l2 are approved and also that L1 approval happen before L2 you may have to ( 1) check mark the box in release pre requisites , ( 2) in release status make the status released only for the level where both L1 and L2 are checkmarked. other lines to have blocked status. both are avialable under release strategies in OLME

  • Single Sign On and BeX Analyzer

    Hello All,
Does anyone know of a way of using windows authentication (via Active Directory) to automate the login prompt in the BeX Excel Analyzer? I have found a solution for the BI portal via SPNego, but have not been able to find any discussion or documentation about automating the BeX Excel Analyzer login prompt. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Derick,
I want to make our discussion into 2 parts
    1) Sign on
    2) Viewing data based on the Heirarchy
1)Before discussing about the Sign on i want to know which connectivity you are using ? Live offcie or QaaWS.
    2) We can make the second point possible in two ways One is with providing restriction at universe level
and the other one is through the use of flash variables.
    Using flash variables:
The main idea of using flash variables is reading the User ID from BO authentication and based on that we fetch the Heirarchy level of that user. Then we use some excel logic to hide the data from Low level heirarchy(Here we use Dynamic Visibility for components).
I hope this is what you ar looking for....
If so i have more points to acheive such scenario.

  • Single Sign-On and VPDs

Hi - we're trying to implement a VPD on our company database at the moment and were wondering if a single sign-on architecture on our middle tier could be successfully tied to a VPD on the database tier. We have a number of clients, both internal and external, who will be accessing the database via the web and we need to control who sees what. Could you advise on the feasibility of this approach? • Single Sign-on and SSL problems

We are using WebLogic Portal and Server (version 8.1 SP3). We want to have a single sign-on when entering the portal, so that users do not need to reauthenticate each time they access an application via an applet in the portal. We also want to protect the username/password authentication and all other connection information using SSL. We have applications in multiple domains.
When not using SSL, SSO works okay. We are challenged for username/password exactly once, whether we access the Portal, or an application directly. As soon as we enable SSL, we are challenged repeatedly, and in some cases cannot access the applications at all, as the challenge always fails.
We suspect that there is a Session cookie problem and that something is clobering the cookie and thus breaking the session. Does anyone have any idea on what might be causing the problem?

  • Single Sign-On and Data Visibility Rights

    Hello,
I was wondering whether anyone has any best practices for implementing single sign on and user identification with Excelsius.
More specifically, I need to interrogate user role, and limit certain data visibility based on that role.
For example, a sales rep may only see certain data for their own territories, but the regional and national managers can see more.
With the emphasis in improving enterprise integration with the new version coming up, I'm also wondering if there are any improvements included for this aspect.
    Thanks in advance.

  • FIGL Report validation(Different problem)

    Hi Guys,
We are doing the FIGL query testing by comparing the data
    in multiprovider and report results.
But here we are facing problem.I have given some inputs in
    report selection screelevel
    (companycode ,currency,profitcenter and X hierarchy
value ).We have a hierarchy and i
restricted that hierarchy to one node level. It is showing the
    reuslt on top left.
I'm trying to give the same selections in muliprovider level but
in hierarchy level i'm unable to give the input.
    My question is
What value i have to give in Heirarchy level?
Can any one suggest me?It is very urgent.
    Helpful answers will be rewarded.

    Hi Ravikanth,
Thanks for your quick response.Actually when I enable the
heirarchy in query level it is showing the result on top
left. When I deselect the hierarchy it is showing the result on
      bottom left.
Is it any node level problem?
Another thing what value I have to give in multiprovider level
when comparin data with report data?
Ex: In report level I have selected the two nodes COGS and
      Calculated Profit.
But in multiprovider level what I have to give?

  • Do I need to close ActiveX references?

    Hi,
I am developing a library of VIs that use ActiveX to control APWin (for Audio Precision System Two) with LabVIEW where both are running on the same PC and I am wondering if I need to close ActiveX refnums when I'm finished along a particular heirarchy level. The context help says that LV closes references when they're no longer needed but is it bad practice to leave them open? Can not closing refnums potentially cause problems? See attached picture for an example.

You should generally close any refnum. LabVIEW 7 does have improvements
to its own refnums (App and VI refnums, Control refnums) which does not
require to close them anymore but doing so will definitly not hurt.
For Active X refnums, in the best case they just use up memory until you
close the entire application or the LabVIEW development system. In the
worst case the system can crash when you close the executable or LabVIEW
due to the Active X component stumbling over left open object references
when Windows forces those objects to be closed on behalve of the leaving
    execu
    table.

  • Listing of Functional Locations in a Heirarchical Order in PM module

    Hi Gurus ,
I am working on a requirement to display the Functional Locations  in a heirarchical order for a given input Functional Location from table IFLOT. This is to be done by selecting all functional locations with the same String Indicator and the next lower heirarchy level  for a given functional location.
The above procedure is to be done upto 2 levels.
    For eg  .
Input given:  AA (Functional location  with heirarchy XX-NN-XX)
Then , my report should display
    Level 2      Level 3
    AA-22       AA-22-BB
Kindly provide me some useful tips .
    Regards,
    Venkatesh.

    Hi,
When you are fetching the data from IFLOT
    first table TNAPR field.
For each TNAPR you have to check Superior FL(TPLMA) field repeatedly till all the below levels have been fetched.
So the IFLOT select should be in a loop pass.
After fetching all the Levels of Values for FL, then you can put them in a string by concatenating as per your requirement and display.

  • Query performance problem when using hierarchies

    Hello All,
I've a query which is built on a hieracrhy with the following structure for eg.
    <b>A</b>
    |_<b>B</b>
    | |_L1
    |
    |_<b>C</b>
      |_L2
When I restrict the query to hierarchy levels B and C simultaneously the query executes fine. But when i directly restrict the query to heirarchy level A , the query runs endlessly.
Could some one please help me out as to why this is the case ?
I don't have aggregates built on any of the hierarchy level.
    Best Regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi Roberto,
thanks for your response. However, the problem is not solved even after applying the suggestions of the note 738098 :(. These queries used to execute fine until yesterday and there have been no major additions to the hierarchy. Please let me know if there is any thing else that can be done. We are planning to bounce the system and see if there are any performance improvements.
PS: I've awarded points to you nevertheless, as the option suggested in the note seems useful and should be tried in case of these kind of performance issues
