Helix and RTP

//sorry for the bad english!
Hi folks!
maybe anyone can help me with a little problem...
I use two applications from the sun-solution-page
"AVReceiver.java" and "AVTransmitter.java"
work's good in a network, but not together with the HELIX-Server from realnetworks.
What I need is some idea how to use the tools with HELIX!
Can anyone help me please?

  • Helix and X61 pen comparison

I am considering upgrading from my Lenovo X61 tablet to a Helix, and was wondering if people can answer a weird question about the digitizer pen input.
On an X61, the screen is about a milimeter deep into clear plastic.  This seems harmless but it means that pen calibration is only valid if you sit at exactly the same angle whenever you write.  Moreover, it tends to mean that you can calibrate for the upper part of the screen or the lower part, but not both simultaneously.  Is the helix screen closer to the surface?
(Sorry for the strange question by the way... these things don't go unnoticed when you write on a tablet as much as me.)

I've been using my Helix with OneNote for a couple of hours today. Taking notes in class and working on my homework. It's cool to be all paperless and stuff, but the Gorilla Glass does seem pretty thick. For handwriting recognition it works fine, but for drawing type stuff, like math notes, the calibration becomes tiresome. You get it claibrated just right, and then you shift in your seat and it's wonky again. Then you rotate the screen and it shot to hell. It seems like they should claibrate a few points in the middle of the screen, because the angle can change a lot and getting your hand to rest properly at the right edge (for righties) is tricky. I'm getting used to it, and I probably make as many corrections as when I used paper, but for fine work it probably isn't the best.

  • RV042 protocol binding for SIP and RTP (VoIP)

    Hello everybody,
I have a RV042 with a DSL (WAN1) and cable (WAN2) internet connection in Load Balance Mode. The DSL provider also provides internet telephony when registered via his line. When I disable the WAN2 port, my IP phone successully registers with the registration server of the DSL provider. I also defined protocol bindings for SIP (port 5060) and RTP (ports 5004 to 5020) to be bound to WAN1. My IP phone is set up to listen on only these ports.
    The rules are in detail:
    SIP(UDP/5060~5060) -> "myPhoneIP"~"myPhoneIP" ("RegistrationServerP"~"RegistrationServerIP") WAN1 [Enabled]
    SIP(UDP/5060~5060) -> "RegistrationServerIP"~"RegistrationServerIP" ("myPhoneIP"~"myPhoneIP") WAN1 [Enabled]
    RTP(UDP/5004~5020) -> "myPhoneIP"~"myPhoneIP" ("RegistrationServerP"~"RegistrationServerIP") WAN1 [Enabled]
    RTP(UDP/5004~5020) -> "RegistrationServerIP"~"RegistrationServerIP" ("myPhoneIP"~"myPhoneIP") WAN1 [Enabled]
With these protocol bindings in place when I re-enable WAN2, then after some time the phone reports "registration failed".
Do I need to set something else apart from protocol binding to force the VoIP traffic to go via WAN1?
    Thanks for your help
    Felix

Pardon my memory if I am mistaken, when configuring the protocol bind for the WAN port, there are 4 or 5 options. Service, which of course is 1~65535, source IP, in this scenario it should be the phone or PBX, whatever you're using. The destination IP should be 0.0.0.0 and interface is your desired WAN, WAN 1 or 2.
    Example:
    Wan 1- Cable       Wan 2 - Dsl
           |                              |
           | ________________ |
                          |
                      RV042-----------
                  ____|                |
                  |                     Computer  192.168.10.100
              Tele/PBX 192.168.10.250
On this example to route the Telephone / PBX to WAN 1
    All services 1~65535
    Source IP 192.168.10.250
    Destination IP 0.0.0.0
    Interface WAN 1
Please correct me if I am mistaken, I'm currently not at work due to the US holiday

  • Helix and USB 3.0 Dock

    Hello,
I don't know were to post a suggestion so I thought I leave it here.
I do have a Helix and use the USB 3.0 dock 0A33970 in my office. For at home... I thought the 4X10A06077 would be nice: HDMI and hard wired network and some USB for entertainment. The online chat told me the dock is compatible with the Helix, which is actually wrong... The onelink connector doesn't fit.
It should't be too difficult to create an adapter to split the onelink connector in standard USB 3.0 and power to make it usable for the the Helix which would open a nice market for the dock. I was very surprised that it's not (yet) available.
    Best regards,

Do you have any issues using the dock after you put the helix to sleep? I am having a host of issues getting the Helix to see the dock after waking up.

  • J2ME and RTP

I am transmitting video with the JMF.
I have that to receive this exactly video with J2ME and RTP.
    How I make?
Already I tried to use "rtp://10.1.1.3:22224/video"
but it gives error... they know on this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I am very much interested in audio stream using J2ME. Do you have any examples on this topic?
    Thanks in advance

  • Capture and RTP on a SIGNED applet.

I am trying to build an applet that allows users to chat both ways. I want the user to install nothing (other than java) and i provide the libraries they need (including jmf). I have signed the applet to ease my troubles, but it seems they are still there. The basic goal: capture audio from two microphones, send the audio via RTP, hear audio on both sides.
Even though I have a signed applet with all permissions, I lack permission to capture from applets? Aside from the fact that this seems absurd, it's frustrating. I am looking to find a way around this. I don't want the users to have to manually change the JMFRegistry or download a program to it.
    The better options :
    1) Is there a way to take advantage of the signed applet to alter the permissions in the program? (Seems very unlikely, but it would be the best).
    2) Is there a way to provide the permissions in the jmf.jar (including jmf.properties?) that I include? (Seems more unlikely than 1)
    3) What makes this more interesting (frustrating), I can use the Java Sound API to access the microphone and open an AudioInputStream. Can I plug this stream, or some other object from javasound, into the JMF somehow to send it via RTP?
    4) Other options?

I found a way to use javasound instead of the jmf for the source audio (that's number 3 in my original post). So, i'm good for my problem.
If you want to do mixing, javasound should have more support for mixing (though I've not done it). Check out this thread, it was very useful for me.
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=680525&start=0&tstart=0
I might have spoken too soon... I am just getting static - but that might be related to audio formats.....

  • Voice Quality Issues and RTP Header Compression

Has anyone had problems with RTP Header Compression. A customer is running Voice over IP over our MPLS VPN. They are experiencing packet loss and the interfaces are incrementing flushes and output drops. I have run SAA and seen some SAA packets dropped also. The circuits tested clean so I am beginning to suspected RTP Header Compression. It is enabled on all interfaces and it causes the router to process switch so I am thinking this is creating delays and leads to the flushes and the drops.
Am I on the right path?
Has anyone else seen a problem with RTP Header Compression?

    hi
do confirm whether you have got any qos policies defined for different traffic patterns or not ?
and also about the traffic patterns being pumped on that link like the utilisation and the applications being passed on..

  • AE with inbound SIP and RTP over UDP - Will not open ports

I am using a Linksys SPA962 IP Phone via an Airport Express with the latest firmware connecting to an Asterisk PBX (http://www.asterisk.org) over the internet. I may make outbound calls and have my incoming and outgoing audio over RTP with the appropriate UDP ports no problem. But, when I receive an inbound call, I get the SIP INVITE no problem, but the AE refuses to open those RTP ports. I have NAT keep alive at 15 seconds.
Now, I have tried almost every combination. Enabling NAT-PMP forwarding to all of the appropriate IP/Ports, turning it off (really should not be necessary with keep alive on register with the Asterisk). I am stumped, it is almost as of AE does not like UDP for inbound. I have others using Linksys routers with a similar configuration working inbound and outbound no problem.
I am stumped. Ideas? Chuck the AE in the bin?

    I Googled up the following:
    http://lists.apple.com/archives/Macnetworkprog/2006/Jul/msg00040.html
    I am having this issue:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7256265#7256265
Are all these things the same issue?
My ISP "tells me" that they will not allow more than one IP address per account. I have a basic cable modem i.e. not a router. Its a D-Link DCM-202. I have been told to try a level-2 switch but I can't see how that will work. As far as I can see the DCM-202 cable modem is bridging to my AEBS so that is allocated the WAN IP address by the ISP's DHCP server. Does this sound right?
I'd like to create an actual DMZ but since my cable modem only has one port I can't see how I can do that unless I use 2 routers. If I try this I am expecting that I'd have complicated port forwarding configurations no?

  • Is there a way to disable touch on the Helix and get a power management for battery cycles?

    As the title describes.
I've been drawing a fair bit on the Helix using photoshop but what to find a way to disable touch. I used to be able to do it on my x220t through the control panel>isd tablet settings. Windows 8 doesn't have that option. Please don't mention palm rejection as it doesn't always work.
Also I'd live to know if there is a battery gauge to show the battery cycle of the helix. I know the battery is in good condition. What i'd like to know is the cycles of both batteries.

So I have found a temp work-around that does the deed.  I have been using a lot of autodesk sketch, and its bomb if you don't have to worry about your hand touching the screen while you sketch.  Here is how I have been doing it.
    WIN+X >> Device Manager >> Human Interface Devices >>
Under this section you will find three USB Drivers installed.  I found that if I desable the second USB Driver, then the touch screen stops working, but the Digitizer still works 100%.  Just re-enable when you want to use the touch again.  I really wish Lenovo had software to take care of this out of the box.  But as I said, It works for the time being.

  • Helix and Microsoft Dynamics - performance question

    Dear all,
I'm testing Lenovo Helix to work with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. A strange issue has occured during test: when the tablet is working on WiFi, MSD performance can be a bit sluggish. In the airplane mode, MSD gets a boost performing way better than when connected to the internet.
I have been browsing the internet for a while now and cannot find any explanation on this but found nothing. Don't know if the issue is tablet-related or MSD-related.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Pawel

I am assuming you are using MS CRM through outlook, not the browser.
So when you switch of your internet connection and have the offline client installed, it will revert to offline mode. Which can be faster because of:
    1. Data is not traveling over the network, only to a local web server on your machine
    2. The amount of data/plugins etc. you have localy is probably much lower, based on how you setup your offline filters
Try pinging the MS CRM server and see what the latency is. If it's higher than say 100ms this might be the cause of performance degredation. Of course it depends a lot on the implementation. If you have a lot of client side scripting / SL web resources which communicate with the server, the  connection speed (latency) between you and the server will matter a lot.
In general if you are having performance issues with the Helix check what speed the CPU is running at. This machine, among other issues, has a tendency to get stuck at 0.6-0.8 GHz and not get any higher, which has a massive impact on performance.
This especially happens when you allow it to run out of battery juice (like keeping it at sleep for a longer period).
Solution is to do a hard reset of the tablet and the base through the small holes near the power ports.

  • Interesting article regarding Helix and Haswell

and some benchmarks at the end.
    http://www.afr.com/f/free/technology/digitallife/lenovo_tiny_new_thinkpad_may_be_YqHFwrGrTODxvnDLhuy...

stso9daa, with respect, I think you're retort misses the mark. First of all, the credit given by the review was in my opinion thin cover for a very empty set of criticisms. Second, their critique centered around the strategy of the device's timing, and not around features or execution, which are issues that you are pointing to personally. Third, your complaints and the evidence to support them (citing first adopters' issues with device), are inconclusive and frankly not proven to be any substantially worse than when Apple releases new devices that contain flaws.
In fact the point of my gripe is that companies like Apple and Google are constantly releasing deeply flawed products, and yet are still given dozens of passes by the same types of "journalists".
The fact is that the media is prone to the same kind of group think that all humans are, and Apple and Google's success has been as much about marketing as substance. Companies like Lenovo and Microsoft may indeed drop the ball on releases, but they're not given the benefit of the doubt that their "cooler" competitors are.
I am not a Helix fanboy (yet). Mine sits unpacked after arriving today. I have yet to judge it on a personal basis. But as this article was about the device specs and strategy, it was deeply biased and used very cheap tactics to cover that bias. It was a fail.

  • Helix and Sim card?

Looking at the bottom of my Helix (Canadian) and it appears I can't get to the Sim card as there is a cover over it. Is there no way to open it to use the SIM card functionality?

I also got an adapter stuck in my SIM card slot, very disappointed with lenovo on this (they don't even ship a tool to properly to pop out the SIM tray!). Anyways, yea I had an adapter stuck in there, managed to pull the tray out but left the adapter still inside. You have to either push the card still inside down and then pull it out (tweezers might work) or push the card down then pull.
Basically inside there they have the contacts to connect with a SIM card also pushing onto the adapter hard enough to hold it in. Very annoying you also have to pull HARD. Try to keep a feel for it though, chances are that if you think you're breaking something... you probably are. Just take your time I suppose and good luck.
Let me know if you manage to get it out or discover more problems.

  • Daylight Saving and RTP Billing

Hi, We are using RTP Billing and the client has requirement to shift 1hr for TOU calculation (during Daylight Saving on). For example, Peak (TOU) is 7am to 5pm would shift to 6am to 4pm during Daylight saving on. Please let me know if we can achieve this without yearly involvement on Config change.
    Regards, Kesava

    Hi Kesava,
Day Light Saving in RTP Billing is taken care of by the Time Zone mentioned in the Profile Header and in the Installation. But in your case cause of the TOU mentioned it won't have any effect. It's unfortunately not dynamic. Would be a config change.
Do post on if you resolve this without config changes. .
